In this fired-up episode of Live to Shoot, Jeff Dowdle celebrates two game-changing Supreme Court cert grants that could supercharge Second Amendment rights. Fresh off Bruen's historical mandate, SCOTUS is tackling Hawaii's overreaching "sensitive places" bans and a federal drug-user firearm prohibition amid the cannabis boom. Jeff breaks it down with grit and gallows humor, rallying listeners to defend their carry rights against "gun-grabber" overreach. Perfect for concealed carriers, range rats, and anyone tired of statehouse nannyism.

(00:14):
Well, welcome to the Live Sheetpodcast.
My name is Jeff.
Do.
I've been a licensed.
Firearms dealer for the last 18years.
In this podcast, we talk aboutall things related to Second
Amendment, as well as anythingelse going in the world, a
sports story, or anything else Imight find interesting.
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
And today it's October.
And what does October mean?
October means the start of thenew term for the Supreme Court.

(00:37):
And what does that mean?
The Supreme Court starts hearingcases and what have they done?
Well, right now to date, they'velist, they've given certificate,
cert satori and I don't know allthe Latin.
Basically they said they weregonna hear two current Supreme
Court or Second Amendment caseson their dockets.
And we're we're celebrating thewins.
They just handed the gungrabbers Hawaii Beach bands and

(00:58):
Texas Weed woes.
The black robes are fixing tomake'em history.
So let's get going.
So quick shout out to thefounders.
They didn't believe, or maybeyou can have a musket if King
says so.
The second amendment is clear, shall not be infringed.
Full stop.
But ever since that landmarkcase of Bruin in 2022 where the
court told the elites to quitinventing common sense BS and

(01:19):
stick to history, it's lowercourts have been scrambling like
roaches to raid to.
States are getting called outleft and right and now SCOTUS is
granting cert on these two casesthat could blow the doors open
on all these restrictions.
So the first case is Wilford vLopez, and it was granted on
October 3rd.
And if you're concealed carrier, this is a big one.

(01:40):
So imagine this, you're inHawaii.
Shirt unbuttoned toes in thesand.
But some bureaucrat says youcan't strap it on your Glock for
a jog on the beach or grab aburger without begging the mall
owner's permission.
Yes, that's right.
The, the ninth circuit rubberstamped it last year, calling it
a sensitive place of rule thatdoesn't destroy your rights.
So basically in Hawaii, they'recalled it the vampire rule.

(02:01):
The vampire rule is in, in lo inlore.
For a vampire to come into yourhouse, he had to be invited.
He couldn't just come and herein Hawaii, for you to be able to
carry in any store public placeor anything like that, you have
to get the permission of theowner versus them saying, you
know, denying it.

(02:22):
You have to go and getpermission space by space, by
space.
Where in, in Texas you can postthe 30 i six sign, 30 I seven
sign and say, you know, concealed carry's not allowed
here.
And you got that when you walkin.
But this one is, you gotta goplay, and if it's not there,
you're free to enter in.
Right?
Unless it's one of the you know, previously called out in, in the

(02:42):
code, the restricted places orthe state fair, but that's
another story.
But in, in Hawaii they say yougotta be invited in.
So petitioner Christopher Waferhe wouldn't have any of it.
And he said, you know, he wentto Bruin and said, Hey, you
know.
This isn't right.
And so Hawaii, they're kind ofscraping at the barrel the, of

(03:05):
some post-Civil war law lawsthat were revolved around slave
or freed slaves and whether ornot they could carry and getting
their owner's per permissiontype stuff.
But no, it doesn't apply.
This one's gonna be heard bySCOTUS at some point in the
future.
They'll start hearing things, you know, probably at the, at

(03:26):
the end of the year.
Oral arguments on this.
Now, the other one, this one's alittle, a little wonky.
It's the United States firstSomani.
And so this one's interesting.
So it's 2023.
And, you know, we don't have thebest petitioner here.
We're gonna go out and say thatright now.
The Feds bust into to Ally,Danielle Haman's place, and they
find a Glock.

(03:47):
Some money and some cocaine andsome weed, and he gets charged
for federal law.
Nine two G three banning gunsfor unlawful users of drugs, but
he wasn't a fool.
He channels his brewing and getsthe charges to tossed now backed
by the fifth Circuit saying,Hey, a visual use gotta mean

(04:09):
fresh tracks.
You know, not just this yourcollege stories.
So.
Second Amendment stands tallwith with Armani and says, yep,
nope, you, you're you're not ahabitual user.
But the Uncle Sam doesn't do it.
They throw a hissy, spook, theyappeal, and now they're going to
scotus.
So we're welcoming this.

(04:30):
He said, they're saying the fedssay, you know, this is just
temporary, like disarming drunksor lunatics back in the day.
It's not, it's a lifetimescarlet letter for anyone who's
ever, you know, tod up and usedweed in half the states legally.
That million law, you know, andthere's millions of law abiding
users.
So, you know, this is gonna beinteresting.
I'm not a drug user.

(04:50):
Don't smoke weed, don'tanything.
But again, defending our rightto bear and, and, and bear arms
and not be infringed, doesn'thave boundaries.
Folks, we've gotta rememberthat.
It says shall not be infringed.
So you know, Ani goes and says, you know, basically says, show
us the 1791 scrolls banninghemp, you know, hemp farmers,

(05:12):
you know, there aren't any.
Right.
You know, Bruins flipped thescript, you know, in fact, you
know, George Washington raid.
So would we have banned GeorgeWashington from being able to
carry guns?
I don't think so.
So.
We gotta be responsible, but wegotta tell, you know, the DEA to
pound sound.
Sound.
So we're gonna gear up, youknow, we're gonna watch these

(05:34):
cases that they develop.
I'll give you updates as theymove along.
Hopefully we can put two morewins in the wind column for the
second Amendment.
There are more cases out therewaiting to be reviewed by the
Supreme Court.
Hopefully they'll pick up 3, 4,5 more Second Amendment cases so
we can start clearing some ofthese, clearing out some of
these, you know, where they'retrying to ban semi-automatic

(05:54):
rifles.
You know, magazine bans a lot ofthose that are going on
throughout these states wherethese states are just thumbing
their nose at the Supreme Courtand the brewing decision.
And so we've got to smack'emdown.
We've gotta start letting themknow that this thing is true.
This, it's the law, it's theruling of the, the Supreme
Court.
And they just can't be making uplaws that infringe in our Second

(06:17):
Amendment.
So more to come, you know, Idon't know if we're gonna, when
we'll hear anymore about thesecases or the Supreme Court
picking up anymore, but as, assoon as they do, I will let you
know.
Have a great rest of your weeksubscribe, share this with other
people.
We gotta keep defending theSecond Amendment.
I appreciate you listening andhave a great one.
