that I might find interesting.
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
You have landed on the showwhere we stand for Liberty, the
Constitution, and the God-givenright to keep and bear arms.
(00:36):
Now today's podcast is gonna bea little different.
We're gonna dive into something.
To date actually today's date,June 14th.
And talk just a little bit aboutit.
A little history, I guess, aboutwhat's all happened on June
14th.
And I became aware of some ofthe June 14th items starting
about 20 years ago.
And at the end of the podcast, Iwill tell you why.
(00:56):
So let's get started.
So first of all, it's flag, dayto day.
It's also the birth of the USArmy, and today is President
Donald j Trump's birthday.
So, you know, grab some coffee.
We're locked and loaded, andlet's unpack a little history
about today.
All right, so let's kick it offby talking about Flag Flag Day.
On June 14th, 1777, the secondcontinental Congress passed a
(01:20):
resolution adopting the starsand stripes as the official flag
of these United States.
That's right, our flag.
The symbol of our freedom wasborn right in the crystal of the
Revolutionary War, and that'swhy it's so important.
The revolution called for a flagwith 13 stripes, alternating red
and white, and a union of 13stars on a blue field
representing a newconstellation.
(01:41):
That was the birth of old Glory, and it's been a beacon of
liberty ever since.
So.
What's the matter to the SecondAmendment?
Well, the flag isn't just cloth.
It's a symbol of the blood, thesweat, and the sacrifice of
those who fought our freedoms, including the right to keep and
bear arms.
Like I said, it was born in thecrucible of the Revolutionary
War, and those patriots, one ofthe main things they were
(02:02):
fighting for was our right tobear arms.
Every time you see those starsand stripes, it's a reminder of.
Everyone who has stood up totyranny and said, you know, not
on my watch from Bunker Hill totoday, the flag truly represents
the fight for liberty, and we'restill carrying that torch, and
the flag needs to be celebratedevery year.
(02:24):
Now moving on to the next bigevent that happened on June
14th.
It was the birth of the UnitedStates Army.
Also in 1777, the ContinentalCongress established the
continental army to take on theBritish and secure our
independence again, right in theRevolutionary War where one of
the main things and the thingwe've talked about before that
(02:45):
really.
Lit the fire was our protectingour rights to bear her arms.
Those British were coming toconfiscate a cache of arms and
ammunition and that's when thatfirst shot heard around the
world was fired.
And that's what one of the mainthings, the revolutionary War
was built around with ourprotecting our freedom.
(03:05):
But in seventeen seventy four, seventy seven there, it was the
birth of the most formidablefighting force that we've ever
seen from Valley Forge toNormandy, from Fallujah to
Afghanistan, the US Army hasbeen the backbone of our
nation's defense.
And let's be clear.
The Army's mission ties directlyto the Second Amendment.
(03:26):
A well-regulated militia, as ourfounders wrote, is necessary for
a free rait.
The Army embodies the spirit ofreadiness and strength, and it's
a reminder that freedom is notfree.
It's defended by brave men andwomen who stand ready to protect
our way of all life.
So for all the soldiers outthere passing present, we salute
you on this day.
Thank you for your service, andit's proud to make America
(03:49):
great.
So.
Now the last piece on the June14th puzzle, the birth of
President Donald to j Humm.
Donald j Humm.
He was born in June 14th, 1946,and the president has been a
lightning rod, a patriot, and achampion.
And the, and this podcast hasmade no qualms about our support
for DJ t.
We love him.
(04:09):
And you can't deny the impacthe's had.
During his presentee, he hasstood firm on the Second
Amendment appointing judges withrespect to the Constitution and
pushing back against gungrabbing crowds.
And I can argue, I think of allthe presidents, probably every
of all presidents Donald Trumphas been the, the most fervent.
Fighter for the SecondAmendment.
(04:31):
Here, here in his second termespecially you go back and you
look at all most recent reRepublican presidents and some
have tolerated at best theSecond Amendment.
But nobody has ever fought forit.
And I can really argue that thatwas, even in Trump's first term
where he had a lot of otherthings going on and the second
(04:51):
Amendment was not, you know, onthe top of his priority list.
Here in his second term, he saw,I think what the regime of the
left can try and do in terms of,of robbing us of our Second
Amendment rights.
And he has made a stance thatit's always gonna be America
first.
You go back to other previouspresidents.
(05:13):
And nobody has done anything forthe Second Amendment like Donald
Trump.
I could argue that Bush let anopportunity go.
I mean, we, you know, in hisfirst term, I mean, we were
right after nine 11, we hadenemy invaders on our soul soil,
and we, it was a con a, thebiggest reminder of why the
(05:34):
second amendment was soimportant, but.
There was no movement tostrengthen our stance in support
of the Second Amendment.
His, his father Weak, we callhim the Second Amendment.
Even Ronald Reagan.
Could, you know, it could beour, is really, you know, the
assassination attempt on Reaganis really what I.
Vaulted, all the SecondAmendment, anti Second Amendment
(05:57):
fervor in, into place.
Before that, you know, people, you know, guns were guns.
And there was not as much of adistaste and political agenda
against the owning of firearms.
And then his assassinationattempt and his press secretary
Brady gets shot and that leadsto the formation of, of, of the
(06:18):
Brady Bills and the Brady GunLaws and the Brady Organization
itself and all these otherpolitical organizations that
have been fighting against ourSecond Amendment right.
But.
We do have now Donald Trump, whois, who is trying to put up that
fight and his department ofJustice is looking at things in
a much different light.
(06:40):
And I can just, salute him forthe support he's been given to
the Second Amendment.
So, you know, when you look atthe, today, the June 14th, it's
been a big day in history.
We've got our flag, our army, and what maybe the greatest
president that we've ever had.
But why is it so important tome?
Well, 20 years ago, my littlebaby was born.
(07:00):
My youngest son turns 20 today, and a little emotional.
So just wish him a happybirthday, love him and y'all,
take care.
Have a great weekend.
Happy Father's Day.
To all those fathers out there,we celebrate all of us and enjoy
your time and keep fighting forthe Second Amendment.
(07:22):
Thank you and take care.
