In this episode, I look at the Dominant Dogma of “I’m in this alone” and the impact it can create, including the feeling like you can’t reach out for support.. I explain how this internalized belief is often rooted in a consistent experience of not being heard and not having your needs met, and the secondary gain that believing this allows the unmet need to be held onto rather than tended to. Ultimately, this dominant dogma allows you to keep an unlived fantasy to maintain its position in your psyche, usually the one that’s saying someone will arrive to be your “rescuer.” I also share that the freedom on the other side of this hyper-competence and over-responsibility is about learning to own what you are responsible for and/also inviting others to come alongside you. If this episode mirrors for you your experience with the dominant dogma of “I’m in this alone” and brings you to the edge of your desire to lay down your hyper-competence and you’d like to be supported, reach out and book a one-on-one call with me. Let’s talk about it.
