Hey friends, welcome to Episode 112!
This week, I’m sharing something deeply personal- how I used scripture to navigate a challenging season and how it helped me grow. But first, let’s talk about last weekend’s Zoom session. It was such a joy to connect with so many of you! Over 60 people signed up, and the feedback has been incredible. Here are just a couple of comments that truly moved me:
“I heard Toks speak for the first time at the Hangout anniversary dinner, and her story challenged me and made me believe I can start working on my vision which seemed so big. Today also helped me see areas that were holding me back, e.g., assumption versus facts.”
“I joined feeling overwhelmed, I left feeling completely enlightened!”
Thank you to everyone who joined and shared your thoughts. If you haven’t filled out the feedback form yet, please do—it’s so important as we’re considering starting regular sessions. If you’d like to know more or get the replay, just email pa@toksaruoture.com.
How has your year started? And if it hasn’t, that’s okay. You’re not behind. There’s no race, no timeline you need to measure up to. Start whenever you’re ready.
We’re often overwhelmed by the “new year, new me” hype—goal setting, vision boards, resolutions—and while these can be inspiring, they can also distract us. One thing I’ve learned is that the trouble starts when we accept solutions to problems we don’t even have.
Take a moment to pause and reflect. What does moving forward look like for you? Trust your intuition to guide you in creating a plan that aligns with your purpose.
This past year, my faith was my anchor. It’s easy to focus on challenges or the things that aren’t changing, but I leaned into scripture to guide me. Here are a few verses that kept me going:
John 14:1: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” This verse reminded me to trust God instead of dwelling on my troubles.
1 John 4:18: “Perfect love drives out fear.” Fear can cloud your mind and decisions, but love—God’s love—gives clarity and peace.
2 Corinthians 1:3: “God is the source of all comfort.” I was reminded to turn to Him first when things felt overwhelming.
These scriptures helped me shift my focus from the visible challenges to the spiritual truths that never change.
Many of you have asked for regular sessions like the one we had last weekend. Your feedback means so much, and I’m excited to explore this idea of a membership where we can connect more consistently. What do you think?
If you’d like to share your thoughts or learn more, reach out to me via email or on social media. And if you missed the Zoom session, let me know, and I’ll send you the replay.
Next Week: I’ll be joined by my dear friend Tomi Rotimi for a special episode. It’ll be on YouTube, so you can watch us chat!
Thank you for being here, for listening, and for being part of this journey with me. Don’t forget to subscribe, review, and share this podcast with someone who needs a word of encouragement.

Toks
