Jana Shelfer (00:00):
Are you ready to
create a life you crave?
Let's spin that doom loop ofnegativity into an upward
success cycle and startLiving Lucky®.
Jason Shelfer (00:14):
Good morning.
I'm Jana.
I'm Jason.
Jana Shelfer (00:16):
And we are
Living Lucky®.
Jason Shelfer (00:18):
You are too.
Jana Shelfer (00:19):
Dreams start from
the inside.
Jason Shelfer (00:22):
So delicious.
Jana Shelfer (00:24):
The reason we're
laughing is because right before
we press record, Jason waslike, it's kind of like a
mountain.
Jason Shelfer (00:30):
Mountains are
made from the inside.
Jana Shelfer (00:31):
It's kind of like
a glacier.
He's using all these reallymajestic examples.
Jason Shelfer (00:35):
Jana says it's
kind of like a skin sore.
And I vomited in my mouth justa small amount.
But I swallowed it, so it's allgood.
Jana Shelfer (00:45):
So there's been a
debate.
I mean, we've debated this forthe last 10 years of whether or
not you should say your dreamsout loud.
Jason Shelfer (00:54):
Yeah.
Do you tell people?
Do you keep it silent and showpeople?
What how what is that process?
And there, I think there's twosides of that seesaw or two
sides of the aisle where peopleare like, never tell anyone what
your dream is.
Jana Shelfer (01:07):
Because they may
they're gonna shoot you down,
they're gonna burn you up, orthey may just give you that
little look that plants a seedof doubt in your subconscious
mind.
Jason Shelfer (01:17):
And that seed of
doubt can root if you are not
rooted.
Jana Shelfer (01:21):
I mean, we we've
all experienced that when we
were little, and we'd say, whenI grow up, I'm gonna be an
astronaut.
Jason Shelfer (01:27):
And our parents
are like smart enough, you're
not tall enough, you're too fat, you're too skinny.
Jana Shelfer (01:31):
And they don't
they don't say that, right?
But they have a look in theireye and they're like, okay, you
do that.
Jason Shelfer (01:36):
Why don't you go
play on the playground a little
longer before you decide whatyou want to do for the rest of
your life?
Jana Shelfer (01:41):
And so then we
interpret, well, what what did
they mean by that?
Yeah, with without even reallyknowing what we're doing.
Jason Shelfer (01:46):
Exactly.
Jana Shelfer (01:46):
So there the other
side of that seesaw is tell
your dreams out loud, say it toeveryone you meet, become
extremely passionate about it,to where it's the one thing that
you love to talk about.
And when you do that, then youwill start attracting people
that will not only help you, orpeople who are like-minded in
(02:09):
that dream, they will lift youtowards it, or people who can
give you just that nugget ofwisdom that will get you to that
next step.
So there's two differentmindsets here.
Jason and I fall exactly in themiddle.
Jason Shelfer (02:21):
Yeah.
Jana Shelfer (02:22):
We we've gone
through the phase where we've
actually collected people'sdreams, yes, which sometimes is
like pulling teeth.
Jason Shelfer (02:29):
Right.
Well, some people have nevereven thought of their dream, or
they've they have thought oftheir dream, but because of that
seed of doubt, and and they'vestarted focusing on why their
dream isn't happening or what'swrong with the world, they've
let go of that and they've kindof shaded over that, erased it
from the chalkboard, and they'veforgotten it.
Jana Shelfer (02:47):
So that can bring
up a lot of regret, shame,
guilt, all those feelings thataren't necessarily healthy if
you don't know how to managethem.
So then there's the the otherside where we've gone through
the phase of, you know what,we're just gonna start doing and
(03:08):
not tell anybody what our dreamis.
And that I mean, we had a lotof success, don't get me wrong,
but we also came upon thechallenge of people not knowing
what we are or what we do.
Jason Shelfer (03:23):
And also spending
a lot of time researching and
trying to figure things out onour own and learning the long
way.
Jana Shelfer (03:30):
Yes.
Jason Shelfer (03:31):
Yeah, like
learning the learning a 10-year
process that could have taken atwo years to get or a one year
to get or a day.
Jana Shelfer (03:39):
And literally,
when people who are in our very
inner circle, like our family, would be like, Well, I could
have told you that.
And so it felt like it was thelong way around the mountain,
right?
Round the the skin tour.
Gross.
The pus pocket.
So what we have decided, andlast night was an example of
(04:03):
this that was so evident to bothof us.
We started talking about 2026and we started making our plan
for 2026 and what direction wewanted to go.
Jason Shelfer (04:18):
It is October.
If you're not currently talkingabout 2026 and what your goals
and dreams are for 2026, youmight want to consider it.
Jana Shelfer (04:26):
And it was so
interesting that what I said to
Jason, what do you really wantto focus on?
Because we really need to honeour energy and go in the same
direction.
And he started telling me thisvision, and I said, You know
what?
I have the exact same vision.
That's exactly where I want togo.
(04:46):
And we talked about it forprobably an hour.
Then we got in the car to go toan event, and as we were going
to the car or going to theevent, we passed some potential
content ideas, some potentialopportunities that I thought
that would be great for us in2026.
(05:09):
That would be great for us, andthe people that we meet and
doing that would be reallyfantastic.
Then we get to this event, andit's almost like people were
reading our minds without ussaying our vision for 2026 out
loud.
Jason Shelfer (05:28):
It's almost like
everything, it's almost like we
were doing an origami puzzle andeverything was just coming
together in the moment.
It's called synchronicity.
Yes.
Jana Shelfer (05:36):
And the right
people were coming to our table
and randomly bringing up topicsthat fell right in line with
what we've been talking about.
With our vision for 2026.
Jason Shelfer (05:51):
Yes.
Jana Shelfer (05:52):
So my whole point
is whether or not you should say
your dreams out loud or keepthem to yourself.
When you make an internal shiftand decide this is what I'm
doing, this is where I'm going, the universe has this magical
(06:14):
way of co-creating with you.
Jason Shelfer (06:17):
Yeah, and I think
it's it has to do with knowing.
Like, like it's almost likesaying I'm going on a road trip,
or I'm saying I'm going fromOrlando to Atlanta.
So if I'm going on a road trip, the universe says, Well, just
go.
Like you're not gonna know whatyou're gonna get.
Yes, and you just need to befine with that.
But if you say I'm going fromOrlando to Atlanta, the universe
(06:39):
is gonna say, Okay, go.
You might run into roadblocks, you might run into flat tires,
whatever, but you will get toAtlanta.
So it's decide where you'regonna go, know it, and then you
can tell whoever you want.
Jana Shelfer (06:54):
Like But it's the
it's the internal shift.
Jason Shelfer (06:57):
That's the
important shift is knowing.
Jana Shelfer (06:59):
That is the
important piece of the puzzle.
Jason Shelfer (07:03):
And being
passionate about it.
Because if someone comes alongand says, Are you sure you want
to go to Atlanta?
Jana Shelfer (07:08):
Oh, yes.
They're like, Well, maybe Iknow Atlanta has this right.
You gotta these people and thisopportunity, and this is why.
And I can't wait to experiencethis.
It's it's the knowing.
You're right.
Jason Shelfer (07:23):
It is the knowing
because it and that's like one
of the things I think one of thethings that came to me just,
and this is weird because theshare your weirdness, like
you've never done that before.
Well, I tend to over um give Igive too many stories or
metaphors, analogies.
Jana Shelfer (07:40):
It's what makes
you a genius.
Jason Shelfer (07:42):
Because we're
farmers and we are farmers.
Jana Shelfer (07:46):
We say that very
loosely.
Jason Shelfer (07:47):
Thank you for
your sponsorship, farmers.
Jana Shelfer (07:49):
We say that very
loosely.
Jason Shelfer (07:51):
The um if we
farmers, the way they cultivate
their dreams or their crops isthat they they they plan it,
right?
They they they hire in thepeople to help, they they till
up the land and all this stuff, and a lot of times we'll tell
people what our dream is withouthaving done any of the work.
Jana Shelfer (08:09):
Okay, you know, so
well, because at that point
it's almost like a I call it adream or dream and scheme.
Right.
It's a wish.
What if it's almost living inyour imagination?
Jason Shelfer (08:21):
Yes.
So maybe that maybe that'swhere the other side of the
aisle is saying, don't tellanyone if it's still just a
wish.
But if you've said if you havemade that internal shift, yeah,
where now you have like I'mgonna go after this dream, then
it's like now you need to startspeaking it into the world.
Yes, because the universe needsto know that you've made that
(08:43):
decision.
Yes.
The universe needs to knowpeople that might want to be on
your path or might want to helpyou need to know because if they
don't know, they don't knowthey can help you.
And I'm convinced that thereare people in the world that
want to help.
Because people want to matter.
Jana Shelfer (09:00):
Yes.
Jason Shelfer (09:00):
That's the thing,
is everyone in the world, I
believe, wants to matter in someway.
And how do you matter?
You matter by helping.
Jana Shelfer (09:10):
Yeah.
Jason Shelfer (09:11):
I mean, that's
that's just a fact.
Jana Shelfer (09:13):
By being, I mean,
some people are created to help,
or I I mean, I I don't want toargue.
Jason Shelfer (09:20):
You're gonna help
somebody one way or the other.
Jana Shelfer (09:23):
But you matter by
I think spreading light, which
helps.
Which yeah, you're right.
Jason Shelfer (09:30):
Because some
people are sitting in darkness.
Jana Shelfer (09:32):
I'm sorry to stop
stick you.
That's all right.
I just became the pus pocket ofthe skin score.
Jason Shelfer (09:37):
No, but I mean
it's so it's just that the
shadow side of anything is isreally helping in one way or the
other.
That's this is the the JohnMartini um gratitude effect.
Jana Shelfer (09:46):
Yeah, you're
right.
Jason Shelfer (09:46):
Like there's
gratitude in everything.
Jana Shelfer (09:48):
You're right.
Jason Shelfer (09:49):
So if there's
gratitude in everything, there's
help in everything.
Because even someone being anasshole to you.
Jana Shelfer (09:55):
Oh gosh.
Jason Shelfer (09:56):
I said asshole on
the podcast.
Which we're gonna now we'regonna have to put that little
asterisk in the notes.
But even that is a way ofhelping you kind of build up
your own resistance andtolerance to people being
abrasive.
Jana Shelfer (10:13):
So let's just put
this all in a little nutshell.
It's making the shift within.
Jason Shelfer (10:20):
Yes.
And that's gonna be all thedifference to helping the
universe come to help you.
Jana Shelfer (10:25):
You've always had
the power, my dear.
You just needed to discover ityourself.
Have a great day.
Jason Shelfer (10:33):
Keep
