Paula Behrens (00:01):
Do you ever feel
like you're running on fumes,
like your to-do list has becomea chain around your wrist, and
even your prayers feel rushed ordistracted?
You love God, you servefaithfully, you give of yourself
endlessly, but somewhere alongthe way, you realized you
haven't truly exhaled in days, maybe weeks, and your spirit
(00:22):
whispers, I need you, Lord, Ineed your peace.
I want you to know somethingright now.
You're not alone.
Every woman I've walkedalongside in ministry, and I've
been there too, knows thistension.
We can love God deeply andstill feel the weight of a busy,
overwhelming life.
But here's the beautiful truth.
(00:43):
God doesn't want you to pushthrough burnout.
He invites you to breatheliterally, spiritually, and
emotionally.
And sometimes that breathbegins with something as simple,
yet as powerful, as aroma.
Yes, I said aroma, essentialoils, but not in a way you might
think of them in trendyself-care posts or social media
(01:05):
influencers routines.
I'm talking about biblical,God-created oils steeped in
history and meaning that canbecome anchors for your soul.
Oils that help you pause, pray, and reconnect with God.
Oils that, when paired withscripture and intention, can
guide you into a peace reset.
(01:26):
I want to give you a littleglimpse of something special I
offer.

create a devotional rhythm thatactually fits your season of
life.
And here's the best part.
When you join me, you'llreceive a free essential oil
(01:48):
sampler to use during our timetogether, a set of aromas chosen
specifically to help you anchorpeace and focus in Christ.
More on that in just a bit.
When I first began my seminarywork while serving two church
congregations full-time,everyone assumed I had my daily
devotional time perfectlyorganized.
But truth be told, there weremornings I could barely find
(02:11):
five minutes to catch my breath, let alone dive into deep
reflection.
One day, as I rushed out thedoor with mismatched shoes, I
realized that even in my chaos, there was a lesson.
Embracing God's grace andself-forgiveness, I realized
that true success in mydevotional life requires
prioritizing my spiritualpractices.
(02:32):
Are you finding it challengingto maintain your spiritual
practices or yearning for a morepeaceful, God-aligned day?
I'm Paula, and I've been theretoo.
Balancing spiritual habits witha busy life can be difficult.
I longed for a deeperconnection with God but
struggled with consistency.
Then I found the perfectapproach.

while fighting throughdistractions that keep pulling
you away from God.

falling short.
That's precisely why I createdthe Aroma of Christ Coaching

It's time to start breathingpeace into your walk with Jesus.
All right, let's get started.
Grab your Bible, dust off yourjournal, and cozy up to your
favorite beverage and let's divein.
(04:21):
Do you ever feel like you'reholding your breath just trying
to keep up?
You love God, you serve, yougive, you pray, but somewhere
between the endless lists, thedishes in the sink, the
deadlines, and the quiet ache inyour spirit, you realize you
haven't exhaled in a while.
Maybe you're tired of feelingstretched thin.
You want to feel close to Godagain, to hear his voice without
(04:44):
all the noise.
You long for stillness, butyour schedule feels louder than
your soul.
And if you're honest, quiettime has begun to sound like one
more thing you should doinstead of something you crave.
Friend, you're not alone.
I've been there too.
We're walking miracles filledwith the Spirit of God, yet
sometimes running on empty.
(05:05):
But I've come to believe this.
God doesn't want you to pushthrough burnout.
He invites you to breathe inhis peace.
And sometimes that peace beginswith something as simple and as
sacred as scent.
I want you to imagine what thiscould look like in your life.
You wake up before the worldstirs.
Your diffuser hums quietly inthe corner, releasing lavender
(05:29):
and a blend called Peace andCalming.
The aroma gently nudges yoursenses awake, reminding you that
God is near.
You open your Bible, maybe readjust a single verse, Psalm
46:10, Be still and know that Iam God.
You close your eyes and breatheit in.
That's it.
No grand plans, no pressure, noguilt.
(05:51):
Just a moment to exhale andremember who he is and who you
are in him.
And what if you could carrythat same experience throughout
your day, even in the chaos, even when meetings, school
pickups, or deadlines loomlarge?
Diffusing lemon or bergamotwhile cooking breakfast can lift
(06:11):
your spirit and remind you topray for your family.
Rolling peppermint or rosemaryon your temples while tackling
emails can sharpen your mind andinvite God's clarity.
Rubbing frankincense over yourheart before a stressful meeting
can help you remember that hispeace surpasses all
understanding.
Each of these oils becomes atangible way to return to God.
(06:32):
Small, simple, sacred momentswoven into a busy day.
And here's the point I want toemphasize.
This is not about adding moreto your plate.
It's not about checking anotherwellness box or buying into
self-care guilt.
This is about soul care.
It's about recognizing that Goddesigned your body and mind to
(06:53):
respond to his creation.
Plants, resins, essential oils, they're not just decorative.
They're a gift.
They're part of the rhythm ofrestoration God built into the
earth.
Remember Exodus 30.
God instructed Moses to make asacred anointing oil from myrrh,
cinnamon, calamus, cassia, andolive oil.
(07:15):
Each ingredient wasn't random.
Each carried a spiritualsignificance, purification,
consecration, remembrance of hispresence.
And when we use these anointingoils thoughtfully in prayer,
meditation, or daily devotions,we're participating in a living
tradition, a sacred rhythm thatstretches back thousands of
(07:36):
years.
For now, I want to take yousomewhere quiet in your mind.
Imagine a place where the rushstops.
You're sitting with a warm cupof tea, a devotional journal,
pen in hand, and a diffusergently releasing the scent of
frankincense.
You breathe it in slowly, deliberately, and you whisper,
(07:58):
Lord, quiet my soul before you.
Even as you imagine it, youmight feel your shoulders drop a
little, and your mind, so usedto racing, begins to soften.
That's the gift of a simplearoma.
It awakens memory, it calms thenervous system, and it can
become a cue for spiritualpresence.
(08:20):
And this isn't magic.
This is God's creation workingwith your body, your senses, and
your spirit to guide you backto Him.
Now I want to be honest withyou.
I didn't discover essential oilsfor this reason initially.
I discovered them because,well, I was exhausted.
I was a pastor, a mentor, amom, a friend, so many hats I
(08:41):
couldn't count.
My heart longed for God, but myspirit felt parched.
I had all the devotionals, allthe study plans, all the
intentions, but the connection, the deep soul level connection
was fading.
I remember one particularlystressful season in my ministry.
I was constantly saying yes toeverything.
(09:03):
During COVID, I took on theextra task of online worship
services and other duties, congregational care, church
meetings, all now online, and myspirit was drying up.
I felt disconnected from thepeace that I was preaching
about.
One evening I came homeexhausted and sat on my back
porch with a bottle of cedarwood essential oil.
(09:24):
I had read that cedar woodsymbolizes strength and
spiritual grounding.
It was used in the temple andin purifying rituals.
So I placed a drop in my handsand I breathed it in,
whispering, Lord, make me thetree planted by streams of
water.
And something shifted.
The air felt lighter, my heartslowed down, tears came, but
(09:48):
they weren't from exhaustion.
They were release.
That moment became a turningpoint.
I realized that the peace ofGod isn't something you chase,
it's something you return to.
And that's what the peace resetis all about: returning to
what's already yours in Christ.
When women come into the Aromaof Christ's coaching hour, I
(10:10):
send a free essential oilsampler ahead of time, beautiful
essential oils likefrankincense and lavender, along
with blends called Stress Away,Inner Child Release and
Transformation to use during oursession together.
We begin with prayer, we invitethe Holy Spirit to speak.
We take deep, slow breaths aswe walk through an Aroma Freedom
(10:30):
Technique to release stress, old patterns, and whatever's
been keeping peace out of reach.
Then we create a simpledevotional rhythm, a short
sacred daily routine that fitsher season of life, something
doable, something sustainable, because peace shouldn't feel
like pressure.
And when she leaves that hour, she carries not just a plan, but
a scent memory of peace, a wayto pause, breathe, and remember
(10:55):
God is near.
You see, my friend, the beautyof this approach is how it meets
you right where you are.
If you're a mom with youngchildren, you can keep a small
roller of the peace blend inyour pocket.
When the day feels wild, justroll it on your wrist and
whisper, Lord, thank you forthis moment.
Help me breathe grace.
(11:17):
If you're navigating grief ortransition, you might use myrrh,
the oil of comfort andconnection.
It was used for embalming inbiblical times, yes, but also as
a symbol of deep, abidingfaith.
It reminds us that God is withus in the dark seasons.
Additionally, you may try theTrauma Life blend or possibly a
(11:37):
single oil called ylang ylang.
Both offer distinctivetherapeutic qualities that can
aid in calming the heart andmind through the grieving
process.
If you struggle to focus inprayer, try diffusing clarity
oils like peppermint androsemary.
As the aroma fills your space, invite God to renew your mind
and align your thoughts with Histruth.
(12:00):
This isn't about performance,it's about presence.
It's about creating tiny sacredcues in your daily rhythm that
draw you back to the heart ofGod.
And here's something I've seentime and time again.
When a woman begins to slowdown, even just a little, and
incorporates these sensory cuesinto her walk with God, she
(12:22):
begins to change.
She breathes deeper, she speaksgentler, she sleeps better, and
most importantly, she starts tohear God again.
And that's the real goal, isn'tit?
Not just to feel better, but tobe closer to Christ, to live on
purpose in Him.
When you make space for peace,God fills it.
(12:45):
I want to speak directly to thewoman who's listening right now
with tears in her eyes becauseshe's so tired.
You're doing your best.
You love Jesus deeply, butlately it's felt like everything
is noise.
You pray, but it feels likeyour prayers hit the ceiling.
I want you to know God has notleft you.
He's not waiting for you to getit all together either.
(13:08):
He's waiting for you to exhale.
Sometimes the most spiritualthing you can do is stop trying
so hard.
Sit quietly with God, diffusesome frankincense, put your hand
over your heart and whisper, Bestill, my soul.
This is the beginning of yourpeace reset.
(13:30):
When you begin to use the toolsGod has placed in creation,
aromas, breath, stillness, you're not escaping life.
You're awakening the peace Godintended for you through grace.
Friend, it's time to breatheagain.
It's time to rest.
It's time to remember who youare and whose you are.
Step into a slower rhythm, asacred rhythm, one that smells
(13:54):
like peace, feels like grace, and sounds like rest.
