The administrative assistantsitting nearby, eyes wide,
expecting a more colorfulreaction than my surprisingly
calm, oh no, burst into laughtersaying, Oh wow, you must really
have the spirit of Jesus inyou.
(01:26):
I would have slipped a fewchoice words in there.

the power of the indwelling HolySpirit, we can choose peace

It's time to start breathingpeace into your walk with Jesus.
All right, let's get started.
Grab your Bible, dust off yourjournal, and cozy up to your
favorite beverage and let's divein.
(03:35):
Hey friend, think about thisfact.
Your soul is not just anabstract concept.
It's your inner life, yourfeelings, desires, and spiritual
essence.
It's where God meets you, wherehope rises and where your
emotions unfold.
In the Bible, your inner selfis addressed directly, offering
guidance, comfort, andencouragement.
(03:57):
Psalm 42.11 says, Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God.
This verse reminds us that it'sokay for the inner self to feel
unrest, but God calls us to putour hope firmly in Him.
Emotional turbulence is normal, but God wants your inner self
(04:19):
to find peace in Him.
Emotions are not the enemies offaith, they are indicators.
Anxiety, frustration, joy, andsorrow are signals from your
soul about what needs attention.
Anxiety may show areas whereyou feel out of control.
Frustration may highlightboundaries that need protecting.
Each feeling is a message, pointing your inner self toward
(04:43):
God's presence.
Scripture frequently calls us tocare for our inner life.
Proverbs 4:23 says, Above allelse, guard your heart, for
everything you do flows from it.
While this verse mentions theheart, the principle applies to
your inner self, your soul.
Guarding your soul meanstending to your emotions,
(05:05):
desires, and thoughts, makingspace for God's spirit to work.
First Peter 1:9 speaks of thesalvation of your soul,
reminding us that God wants totransform the deepest part of
our being, emotionally andspiritually.
Now many Christians feelpressure to ignore emotions in
the name of maturity, but theBible encourages honest
(05:28):
engagement.
Jesus wept at Lazarus' tomb.
David poured out his heart inlament, and Paul described
moments of despair.
God honors emotional honestybecause it brings your inner
self into his presence, where hecan guide, comfort, and
strengthen you.
One of the simplest ways to carefor your soul is through
(05:49):
intentional quiet time.
Now, this doesn't require longhours.
Even five to ten minutes canmake a difference.
The psalmist instructs, bestill and know that I am God.
Stillness is not only physical,it's giving your inner self
permission to pause, reflect, and tune into God.
Take a moment to name youremotions, like I feel anxious
(06:12):
today, or I feel joyful, or Ifeel tired.
Naming emotions is a spiritualpractice that acknowledges your
soul while inviting God torespond.
Essential oils can be abeautiful complement to this
practice.
The sense of smell is deeplyconnected to emotions and
memory.
Lavender can calm restlessness, frankincense enhances focus and
(06:36):
spiritual awareness, andbergamot uplifts a weary spirit.
Incorporating oils into yourquiet time isn't mystical, it's
practical.
Diffusing a calming scent, inhaling intentionally, or
applying a drop to your handscan signal your mind, body, and
soul to relax and prepare toconnect with God.
(06:57):
Scripture gives us a roadmap forguarding and balancing our
inner selves.
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us:
Do not be anxious about (07:03):
undefined
anything, but in every situationby prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present yourrequest to God, and the peace of
God which transcends allunderstanding will guard your
hearts and your minds in ChristJesus.
Notice the promise.
God's peace actively guards theinner life.
(07:27):
Prayer, gratitude, andsurrender allow your soul to
rest in Him even when emotionsfeel turbulent.
Isaiah offers another anchorsaying, You will keep in perfect
peace those whose minds aresteadfast because they trust in
you.
Perfect peace doesn't mean theabsence of feelings, it means
(07:48):
stability and trust in Godamidst them.
Steadfastness is a daily choiceto place your inner self in
God's hands rather than beingtossed by circumstances.
In James 1:19-20, we hear a bitof practical wisdom.
He writes, everyone should bequick to listen, slow to speak,
(08:10):
and slow to become angry.
Why?
Well, because human anger, unlike the righteous anger
displayed by Jesus, does notproduce the virtue that God
desires.
Emotional balance often beginswith pausing, breathing,
reflecting, and inviting God'sperspective before reacting.
(08:31):
By slowing down, your innerself can respond rather than
react, cultivating a soul thatis calm, wise, and connected to
God's guidance.
Let's take a moment to focus onthe Greek word, psuchē (ψυχή).
This word appears throughoutthe New Testament and refers to
the soul, the inner self, encompassing not just your
(08:52):
emotions, but also your desires, thoughts, and life essence.
Your soul is more than fleetingfeelings.
It is the very core of who youare.
It is the place where youridentity, your spiritual life,
and your deepest longingsconverge.
When Scripture speaks to yoursoul, it's speaking to the part
of you that is most alive andmost receptive to God's
(09:16):
presence.
It is the inner sanctuary ofyour being where your hopes,
fears, joys, and dreams meetwith the Spirit of God.
Consider Matthew 10 (09:23):
28, where
Jesus tells his followers, Do
not be afraid of those who killthe body but cannot kill the
soul, rather be afraid of theone who can destroy both soul
and body in hell.
This verse highlights theeternal significance of the
soul, the psuchē (ψυχή), yourwhole self, who you are.
(09:45):
While the body is temporary, your inner self, your soul,
carries the weight of eternity.
Your emotions, desires, andthoughts are not incidental.
They are meaningful, sacredparts of who God created you to
be.
How you care for your soulmatters not only today, but also
for eternity.
Hebrews 4:1 2 further revealsthe power of God's word in
(10:08):
relation to the soul, saying,For the word of God is alive and
active, sharper than anydouble-edged sword.
It penetrates even to dividingsoul and spirit, joints and
marrow.
It judges the thoughts andattitudes of the heart.
This tells us somethingprofound.
God's Word reaches into thevery depths of your inner self.
(10:29):
It discerns, refines, andshapes the
soul, the psuchē (ψυχή).
The scriptures are not simplywords on a page.
They are living, active toolsthat bring clarity to your
emotions, redirect your desires, and align your inner self with
God's will.
The soul is where God speaks, but it's also where he
(10:52):
cultivates growth, healing, andtransformation.
It's the part of you thatexperiences deep rest, joy, and
peace when you sit in Hispresence.
It is a place that longs forconnection, purpose, and
fulfillment beyond the temporaryand superficial.
When your soul is neglected, itcan become restless, anxious,
(11:13):
and empty.
But when you intentionallynurture your soul through
prayer, scripture, reflection, and the Spirit's guidance, it
becomes a fertile ground foremotional stability, spiritual
insight, and inner peace.
By acknowledging emotions, examining feelings, and inviting
God into the deepest places ofyour inner self, you create a
(11:36):
foundation for emotional balanceand spiritual resilience.
Tending to your soulintentionally can involve
practices as simple asjournaling, prayer, meditating
on scripture, and mindfulreflection on your feelings.
It can also include sensorysupport, such as essential oils,
which can help signal to yourbody and mind that your inner
(11:58):
self is being cared for.
When you integrate thesepractices, your soul becomes
more attuned to God's voice, more resilient in the face of
life's ups and downs, and morecapable of carrying the peace
and joy that only God canprovide.
By nurturing your soul, yourpsuchē (ψυχή), you align your
(12:21):
emotions, feelings, desires, andspiritual life with God's
Truth, creating harmony andstability that will ripple out
through every area of your life.
Your soul is worth tending.
It is worth nurturing.
And when you do, you step intothe abundant, balanced, and
peaceful life God intended foryou.
(12:43):
Here are a few simple ways tocare for your inner self.
First, set aside a few minuteseach day to write about what
you're feeling.
Ask God, what do you want me tounderstand about these
feelings?
Pairing journaling withessential oils and slow
breathing will help integratebody, mind, and spirit.
(13:04):
These simple practices nurturea soul that is responsive to God
and emotionally healthy.
And remember to be grateful forwhat you have.
Gratitude shifts yourperspective away from problems
and towards God's faithfulness.
Daily affirmations rooted inscripture can also reinforce
(13:24):
soul care.
Speak truth over your innerlife, saying things like,
Heavenly Father, guard my soul.
Spirit of God, align myemotions with your presence.
Lord Jesus, touch my inner selfwith your strength today.
Transforming your soul requiresintentionality, repetition, and
the willingness to invite Godinto every part of your inner
(13:46):
self.
Even moments of emotional highcan be integrated into spiritual
life.
Likewise, emotional lows areopportunities for God's comfort,
guidance, and renewal.
And of course, prayer allowsthe inner self to release
burdens, seek guidance, andconnect with God's peace.
Balancing the soul is a lifelongjourney.
(14:08):
Each reflection, prayer, andact of surrender builds
resilience.
And here's the most importantpart: emotional ups and downs
are not failures.
They are opportunities to growcloser to God, cultivate
patience, and strengthen faith.
Over time, your inner selfbecomes a steady place of trust,
peace, and joy.
(14:28):
When the soul is grounded inGod's presence, emotions are
guided, stabilized, andtransformed into opportunities
for growth and worship.

deeply aligned with God'spresence, I invite you to book
