Have you ever felt invisible, inadequate, or caught in an endless cycle of comparison? That nagging voice of insecurity can creep into our hearts, whispering lies that make us question our worth and purpose. But what if true confidence isn't something you need to manufacture on your own strength?

This transformative episode explores the radical truth that confidence for Christians isn't about having it all together—it's about knowing who holds us together. We dive deep into Scripture, examining how to trade fear for faith, shame for grace, and exhausting self-effort for rest in who God says you are. Through Philippians 1:6, we discover how to trust God's completion of what He's begun in us, and through Isaiah 49, we embrace the beautiful reality that we are engraved on His hands.

Together, we explore practical ways to silence those negative voices that feed insecurity. You'll learn how to incorporate aromatherapy (specifically frankincense essential oil) as a powerful tool to center your thoughts and emotions during spiritual practice. We walk through a step-by-step process of identifying the lies you've believed, replacing them with God's truth, and stepping out in faith even when confidence feels distant. Most importantly, you'll discover that you don't need to wait until you feel confident to step into what God has for you—confidence builds as you walk with the One who never changes.

five minutes to catch my breath, let alone dive into deep
reflection.
One day, as I rushed out thedoor with mismatched shoes, I
realized that even in my chaosthere was a lesson.
We're all just doing our bestin this journey of faith.
Embracing God's grace andself-forgiveness, I realized

com, that's Paula BehrensB-E-H-R-E-N-S dot com.
All right, it's time to getstarted.
Grab your Bible, dust off yourjournal and cozy up to your
favorite beverage and let's divein.
Did you know that you don'thave to wait until you feel

(02:53):
confident to step into what Godhas for you?
That's right.
You get to build confidence oneday at a time, by walking with
the One who never changes.
So find a peaceful spot whereyou can focus and feel the
guidance of the Holy Spirit.
And remember he's not askingyou to be perfect, he's just
asking you to believe in Him.

(03:14):
Today, as we build on lastweek's journey of a faith-fueled
confidence, we will walkthrough a process of healing,
renewing and becoming.
You'll dive into Scripture, receive biblical teaching and
reflect on questions designed tohelp you uproot insecurity and
rebuild your identity on a firmfoundation.
We'll focus on renewing ourminds with the truth of God's

(03:36):
word, releasing shame, comparison and fear, while
rebuilding confidence that'srooted in who God says you are
realigning with your purpose andyour calling, rising up to
shine your light with boldnessand grace.
Today's focus is on moving frominsecurity to faith.
Let's start by opening ourBibles to Philippians 1.

(03:59):
6, Paul writes, "I am confidentof this that he who began a good
work in you will bring it tocompletion by the day of Jesus
Christ.
"Your confidence grows when you
trust that God is not finishedwith you.
He will complete what hestarted.
Take a moment to reflecti onthis truth.
What has God begun in you thatyou need to trust him to finish?

(04:25):
Maybe it's a dream, a callingor a relationship.
Perhaps it's a process ofhealing or growth.
Whatever it is, God is faithfulto complete.
It Isn't that amazing.
As you ponder this, considerwhat it means to release control
and to trust his timeline.
In our fast-paced world weoften want things to happen on

(04:48):
our schedule, right, but God'sways are higher than our ways
and his timing is perfect.
When we surrender our need forcontrol and trust in his
goodness, we can rest in theconfidence that "all things work
together for the good of thosewho love Him, who are called
according to His purpose"(Romans 8.

(05:11):
28).
In the hustle and bustle of ourdaily lives, it's easy to get
caught up in the noise around us.
But Jesus reminds us, "my sheeplisten to my voice, I know them
and they follow me.
" This verse is a powerfulreminder that, amidst the chaos,

(05:31):
we can tune into the loving, affirming voice of our Savior.
God's voice is often a gentlewhisper, yet it has the power to
heal, affirm and call usforward into the purpose he has
for our lives.
But all too often we findourselves listening to that

(05:53):
negative voice, right, the onethat tries to drown out God's
truth.
The voice of comparison maywhisper that we don't measure up
to others.
The voice of fear may hold usback from stepping out in faith
and pursuing the dreams God hasplaced in our hearts.
These voices are not from God,but from the enemy, who seeks to

(06:16):
steal, kill and destroy.
Take another moment now to pauseand reflect.
What negative voices have youbeen listening to lately?
What lies have you beenbelieving about yourself?
Maybe it's the lie that you'renot good enough or that you'll

(06:39):
never be able to achieve yourgoals?
Maybe it's the insecurity thattells you that you're not worthy
of love and acceptance?
As you contemplate thesequestions, I invite you to reach
for your bottle of Young LivingFrankincense Essential Oil.
Place one drop in the palm ofyour hands, rub your hands

(07:03):
together, cup them over yournose and mouth and breathe in
the calming, grounding aroma, allowing it to center your
thoughts and your emotions.
As you inhale the soothingscent, ask God to reveal to you

(07:27):
the negative voices you need tostop listening to.
Ask him to replace those lieswith his truth about who you are
in him.
You are fearfully andwonderfully made.
You are loved with aneverlasting love.

(07:49):
You are more than a conqueror, through Christ, who loves you.
In the stillness of this moment, commit to tuning out the
negative voices and tuning intothe voice of your loving
shepherd.
As you go about your day.
Keep your frankincense oilclose at hand.
Whenever you feel thosenegative voices creeping in,

(08:12):
take a moment to breathe in itscalming aroma and remind
yourself of God's truth.
Have you placed your trust inJesus Christ as Lord and Savior?
Well then, you are a belovedchild of God, created for a
purpose.
Don't let the enemy's lies holdyou back any longer.

(08:34):
Invite God to speak his truthover you.
What is he saying about yourworth, your identity and your
purpose?
His voice is the only one thatmatters.
Finally, let's go to Isaiah andlisten for the wisdom found

(08:55):
there, as the prophet speaks forGod, saying, "Can a mother
forget the baby at her breastand have no compassion on the
child she has born?
Though she may forget, I willnot forget you.
See, I have engraved you on thepalms of my hands.
Your walls are ever before me.

(09:16):
" That's Isaiah 49, 15 through16.
God sees you.
You are engraved on his hands.
You are not overlooked.
You are deeply known by him.
Has there been a time when youfelt unseen or forgotten?
Maybe it was in a relationshipat work, or maybe even in your

(09:41):
own family.
These feelings of beingoverlooked can intensify our
insecurities and make usquestion our value, but the
truth is, God never forgets you.
He knows you intimately andloves you deeply.
He sees every tear you cry, every joy you celebrate and

(10:02):
every struggle you face.
You are always on his mind andin his heart.
So how can we lean into thetruth that God never forgets us?
Well, one way is to meditate onthis passage from Isaiah and
allow it to sink deep into oursoul.
Another way is to keep ajournal of the ways God has

(10:24):
shown up in our life, remindingourselves of his faithfulness.
As we wrap up our time together,I'd like to leave you with a
few practical steps to deepenyour confidence in Christ and
silence those negative thoughts.
First, spend time in God's Worddaily.
Allow His truth to renew yourmind and shape your identity.

(10:47):
Then, identify and reject thenegative voices that feed your
insecurities.
Replace them with the truth ofwho God says you are.
Also, make sure that you stepout in faith and obedience even
when you don't feel confident, trusting that God is with you
every step of the way.
And celebrate those smallvictories and progress you make,

(11:10):
remembering that confidence isbuilt one day at a time.
Finally, introduce aromatherapyinto your daily routine to
create a peaceful and calmingenvironment that will support
your spiritual growth.
Remember you are not alone inthis journey, God is with you

(11:30):
and he will never leave you norforsake you.
He is the one who began a goodwork in you and he will be
faithful to complete it.
So take heart, my friend.
Your confidence is not in yourown abilities or performance,
but in the unchanging characterof your loving Heavenly Father.

(11:50):
As you walk with him, day byday, you will find your
insecurities fading and yourconfidence growing.
Now, in this episode, we'vedelved deeply into our
transformative journey frominsecurity to faith.
We've embraced the powerfultruth that confidence is not
something we have to manufactureon our own, but it is a gift we

(12:14):
receive from God.
We've explored how to renew ourminds with the truth of God's
word, assisted with the calmingbenefits of aromatherapy, both
enabling us to let go of thosenegative thoughts, comparisons
and fears, while rebuilding ourconfidence on the firm
foundation of our identity inChrist.

(12:37):
As you continue on your journey, remember that it's not about
striving to be perfect or havingit all together.
It's about trusting in the onewho holds you together and
believing what he says about you.
It's about trading fear forfaith, shame for grace and
striving for rest in the truthof who God says you are.
So keep pressing in, keepseeking God's face and allowing

(13:01):
him to transform you from theinside out.
Keep stepping out in faith andobedience, even when you don't
feel confident, and keepcelebrating those small
victories and progress you makealong the way.
Keep pressing on, keep buildingyour confidence one day at a
time.
And remember you don't have towait until you feel confident to

(13:23):
step into what God has for you.
You get to build confidence bywalking with the One who never
changes.
Thank you for joining me onthis episode of Rebuilding Our
Confidence, a journey frominsecurity to faith.
