All of that in a few minutes.
But first funny story.
When I first began my seminarywork while serving two church
congregations full-time,everyone assumed I had my daily
devotional time perfectlyorganized.
But truth be told, there weremornings I could barely find
five minutes to catch my breath, let alone dive into deep
reflection.
(00:41):
One day, as I rushed out thedoor with mismatched shoes, I
realized that even in my chaosthere was a lesson.
Embracing God's grace andself-forgiveness, I realized
that true success in mydevotional life requires
prioritizing my spiritualpractices.

It's time to stop trying tofigure it all out on your own
and start connecting with God ina way that finally feels like
rest.
All right, let's get started.
Grab your Bible, dust off yourjournal and cozy up to your
favorite beverage and let's divein.
(02:30):
Hey friend, have you ever stoodin your kitchen surrounded by
piles of laundry, kids toysscattered everywhere, and a
mental list of tasks that seemsto multiply by the hour, only to
feel a quiet pang of guiltbecause your Bible has been
sitting unopened for days.
It's a common struggle, isn'tit?
As a mom, juggling work, familymeals and everything in between
, carving out time for Biblestudy can feel like trying to
(02:51):
catch a breath in the middle ofa whirlwind.
But here's the good news it'snot only possible.
It's a pathway to the peace andstrength you crave.
Today, we're diving into how tomake Bible study a reality in
your busy life, turning thosefleeting moments into meaningful
connections with God that canhelp you grow stronger in your
(03:12):
faith and become the witness hedesigned you to be.
I know what it's like to feelpulled in a hundred directions,
wondering if there's any spaceat all left for the things that
truly nourish your soul.
You might be nodding alongright now, thinking about how
your mornings start with chaosinstead of quiet reflection, or
how evenings end with exhaustionrather than ending in prayer.
(03:32):
It's easy to believe that Biblestudy is something reserved for
those with more time, maybewhen the kids are older or the
house is finally in order.
But what if I told you that Goddoesn't ask for your perfection
or your spare hours.
He invites you into hispresence, right where you are,
in the midst of the mess, andsmall steps add up, my friend.
(03:55):
They truly do.
Let's start by addressing theheart of this struggle.
Many women like you aresearching for ways to fit Bible
reading into a life that'salready bursting at the seams.
You're not alone in this.
It's one of the most commonpain points I hear from women.
You might be dealing with thechallenge of waking up early
(04:16):
only to be pulled into the day'sdemands.
Or perhaps you're carrying theweight of emotional burdens that
make it hard to focus.
Maybe you're feeling a bitisolated, like you're the only
one in your home prioritizingthis time, especially if your
husband isn't on the same pagewith faith.
But here's a truth that canshift your perspective.
(04:37):
God sees your efforts, nomatter how small, and he's ready
to meet you there.
In Psalm, chapter 46, verse 10,we hear the psalmist speak for
God, saying (04:48):
Be still and know
that I am God.
It's a gentle call to pause, even if just for a moment, and
let God speak into your chaos.
So how do we make thispractical?
The key is to start with whatyou have, not what you wish you
had.
Think about your daily routine, those pockets of time that
(05:10):
might seem too short or toointerrupted to be useful.
For instance, what about thosefive minutes while you're
waiting for the coffee to brewor the kids to finish breakfast?
That's a golden opportunity.
Grab your Bible and read justone verse.
Yes, just one, and it mightfeel insignificant at first, but
give yourself room to breatheand watch how it adds up over
(05:34):
time.
Ask yourself what does this sayabout God's character and how
can it speak to my day ahead?
This isn't about checking off abox.
It's about creating a habitthat invites God's peace into
your everyday moments.
Let me share a tip that's helpedso many moms I've worked with.
If you're driving carpool, listen to an audio Bible or a
(05:58):
short podcast episode on ascripture passage.
If you're folding laundry, turnit into a prayerful time by
meditating on a verse you'vememorized.
Proverbs, chapter 31, verse 27,talks about the virtuous woman
who watches over the affairs ofher household, but we can pair
that with seeking God's wisdomin those affairs.
(06:18):
Make it doable today bychoosing one verse to carry with
you.
Write it on a sticky note forthe fridge or set it as your
phone wallpaper.
When the overwhelm hits, likeduring a tantrum or stressful
phone call, pause and whisperthat verse to yourself.
It's a small step, but itanchors you back to God's truth
(06:40):
and helps you manage youremotions in the moment.
Now let's talk about building aroutine that fits your unique
life.
One of the biggestmisconceptions is that Bible
study has to look like aperfectly quiet hour with a
journal and highlighters.
But if that's not your reality, that's okay.
Adapt it.
For moms with little ones, tryincorporating story time with
(07:04):
your kids into your study.
Read a children's Bible storytogether before bed and discuss
it simply with them, asking whatdo you think God is teaching us
here?
This not only helps you engagewith scripture, but also plants
seeds of faith in your children, turning a potential distraction
into a shared blessing.
I often say that small stepsadd up, and in this case you're
(07:27):
not just feeding your own spirit, you're nurturing the next
generation.
Another layer to this is dealingwith the emotional side of
things.
If you're like many women, Iknow you might be carrying
trauma or stress that makes ithard to concentrate on anything,
let alone God's word.
Perhaps past hurts or currentworries crowd your mind when you
(07:48):
try to read.
That's where affirmationsrooted in scripture can be a
game changer.
Start with verses that speakdirectly to your heart, like
Isaiah, chapter 41, verse 10,which says: So do not fear, for
I am with you.
Do not be dismayed, for I amyour God.
Repeat it as a personaldeclaration.
Say, I am not alone.
(08:11):
God is with me in this moment.
Give yourself room to breatheby pairing this with a deep
breath or a short walk, maybeeven breathing in the aroma of
your favorite essential oil, anything that helps you release
tension.
Over time, this practice buildsa Christian mindset, helping
you set biblical boundariesaround your time and emotions.
(08:33):
To develop a simple rhythm thatcomplements dealing with the
emotional aspects of life'schallenges you can weave an
essential oil blend into yourdaily routine.
Begin by gently placing a dropof Young Living's Release
Essential Oil Blend into thepalms of your hands.
Inhale deeply and allow itscalming fragrance to fill your
senses.
Amazingly, this aroma will alsocalm those around you kids,
(08:57):
pets, even spouses.
As you are surrounded in thissoothing aroma, take a moment to
whisper a prayer inviting God'spresence into your time of
spiritual renewal.
Then read a verse like Isaiah, chapter 41, 10, aloud, letting
the words wash over you.
Next, transition into yourpersonal affirmation: I am not
(09:19):
alone.
God is with me in this moment.
As you speak this truth, letthe fragrance of the Release
blend serve as a reminder ofGod's constant presence and your
commitment to release pastburdens.
With every inhale, breathe inthe calming and restorative
properties of the Release blend.
(09:40):
Imagine exhaling any stress ortension you're holding on to.
This allows you to settle yourmind, making it receptive to
God's Word.
If possible, step outside for abrief walk or simply move
around your space, appreciatingthe day God has made.
As you walk, continue to repeatyour affirmation: I am not
(10:02):
alone.
God is with me in this moment.
Allow the combination ofmovement, scripture and the
aroma of Release to worktogether in setting biblical
boundaries around your emotionsand time.
By integrating this simplerhythm into your day, you not
only honor the process ofrelease, but also cultivate a
(10:23):
space where God's peace andassurance can richly dwell.
Over time, this practiceempowers you to nurture a
Christian mindset, grounded inthe strength and stability that
comes from your faith.
And don't forget small stepsadd up, commit to this
transformative journey with theknowledge that you're taking
crucial steps toward holisticwell-being.
(10:45):
What about when life feelsespecially unbalanced, like when
you're trying to juggle work, family and faith without much
support?
It's common to feel spirituallyalone, especially if your
husband or other family membersaren't sharing in this journey.
I want to encourage you thatyour faithfulness isn't in vain.
You're planting seeds that Godcan water in his time.
(11:06):
Use your Bible study as a wayto pray for your loved ones.
Perhaps dedicate a few minutesto interceding for your
husband's heart or yourchildren's understanding of
Christ.
Romans, chapter 12, verse 12,reminds us to: Be joyful in hope
, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Make it doable today by keepinga simple prayer journal next to
(11:29):
your Bible, jotting down onething you're grateful for and
one person you're praying for.
This not only strengthens yourroutine, but also helps you
witness Christ's love in yourfamily dynamics, even in subtle
ways.
As you build this habit, remember that consistency
doesn't mean perfection.
There will be days when thekids will wake up early, our
(11:51):
deadlines pile up and your studytime gets derailed.
That's all right.
Grace is at the core of yourfaith.
Instead of beating yourself up,view it as an opportunity to
reconnect tomorrow.
I've seen so many womentransform their lives by
starting small and stayingsteady.
Perhaps you could set arealistic goal, like three times
(12:14):
a week, for 10 minutes eachtime.
Use tools that make itaccessible, such as devotionals
designed for busy moms or onlineresources with quick,
bite-sized studies.
The goal is to cultivate aBible-centered mindset that
influences your decisions, helpsyou manage stress, and brings a
(12:34):
sense of peace amid thebusyness.
In all of this, you're not justchecking a spiritual box.
You're stepping into the roleGod has for you as a light in
your home.
Imagine waking up with a quietconfidence, knowing that even in
the chaos, you're rooted in hisword.
It's about becoming a steadfastbeacon of faith, sharing God's
(12:56):
love with your children andgrandchildren through your
actions and your words.
And when you feel like givingup, remember that small steps
add up to create lasting change.
You're building a legacy offaith, one verse at a time.
If you've been feeling alone inyour journey to create a
consistent spiritual routine, know that God delights in the
(13:17):
smallest gestures to draw nearto him, and you don't have to
walk this path by yourself.
