Walk, Stand, and Sit - Part 1: The Blessed Life

Today, we're diving into one of the most powerful passages in all of Scripture—Psalm 1, verse 1. It's a verse about blessing, but not the kind you might expect. This isn't about what we do to earn God's favor. It's about what we refuse in order to receive it.

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers."

Three postures. Three progressions. Three choices that either lead us toward flourishing—or slowly pull us away from it.

But here's where it gets even more powerful: In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul takes these same three postures—walking, standing, and sitting—and shows us where we should be positioned as believers in Christ.

This is part one of a two-part series called "Walk, Stand and Sit." Today, we'll unpack the wisdom of Psalm 1 and discover how our refusals shape our blessings. Next week, we'll explore Ephesians and learn where God has called us to walk, stand, and sit in victory.
