Basketball's landscape has been dramatically reshaped through a series of earth-shattering trades and roster moves that have left fans stunned and excited for what comes next.

The WNBA has entered a new era with the creation of superteams across the league. We dive into the New York Liberty's championship victory and analyze how the league's competitive balance has shifted through major offseason trades. Kelsey Plum heading to the LA Sparks, Alyssa Thomas joining the Phoenix Mercury, and the shocking dismantling of the Connecticut Sun's starting five highlight a transformative period in women's basketball.

Perhaps most exciting is the Indiana Fever's aggressive team-building around sophomore Caitlin Clark, adding veterans like DeWanna Bonner to create a legitimate championship contender. We examine these moves alongside the WNBA draft landscape, where Paige Bueckers, Olivia Miles, and other collegiate stars could further transform the league.

The basketball revolution extends beyond the WNBA season with the Unrivaled League, co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, bringing electrifying 3v3 competition featuring WNBA stars during the offseason. This innovative format showcases players like Skylar Diggins-Smith hitting game winners and Angel Reese dominating the boards.

But nothing compares to the seismic NBA trade sending 25-year-old generational talent Luka Dončić from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. We unpack this stunning development from both perspectives – the heartbreak of Mavericks fans watching their franchise cornerstone depart, and the potential championship implications for LeBron's Lakers.

Whether you're a WNBA enthusiast, NBA devotee, or simply someone who appreciates dramatic sports storylines, this episode delivers comprehensive analysis of a transformative moment in basketball history. Share your thoughts on these blockbuster moves – which team improved most, and who will ultimately win these franchise-altering trades? Grab a glass and a bottle of wine and LET'S TALK SPORTS!!!!!

Speaker 1 (00:11):
I like sports and that's it.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yo, yo, yo, it's the one and only lease and it's,
it's your girl, vels, aka VellyVell, if that's what you want to
call me, and together we are.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Locked In Sports.
Yo, here we come again withanother bonus episode.
Hey, I told y'all it was a lotof stuff going on and we already
talked about the NFL, but wedefinitely got to touch on the
WNBA and the NBA.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Craziness, craziness, bills, yep, super crazy.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Super crazy.
All right, Look you know what?
I can't even say it Beasy, dropthe beat Girls.
We run this mother.
All right, the WNBA.
You know, when we play that thatmeans it's the WNBA.
And the last time we was on, Imean we were kind of like

(01:12):
getting off into like theplayoffs or the finals maybe.
So just kind of recap all ofthat, the New York Liberty ended
up going home with the chip.
Mm-hmm up going home with thechip and I I definitely could
see them doing that, but youknow I was rocking with the Aces

(01:32):
.
I thought the Aces were goingto definitely was it the
three-peat?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, I think it would have been a three-peat.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, I definitely had the Aces three-peating, but
unfortunately the Libertyknocked them out and they went
on to uh win the chip yepanything you gotta say about
that no, I think, much deserving.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I believe, whenever they made those big trades a few
years back, I think that wedeemed these two teams as super
teams and um it, it felt right.
Um, because I mean honestlythat first year, whenever that
new york team had got together,I thought that they were gonna
win it all, but they didn't.

(02:12):
Obviously, the aces took careof business, but you know, I I
thought that the liberties timewas soon coming and you know,
they took care of business, theydid their thing, yeah they took
their business, yeah they didum, and it was actually some
controversy too um, that finalseries with, uh, I believe, the
minnesota links and new yorkliberty.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
uh, it was like a controversial call that was
either I can't remember if itwas called a foul was called or
a foul was not called and thatkind of sealed the fate for the
Minnesota Lynx.
I believe that was like gamefour or something like that.
I can't remember, now it's beenhella months.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Was that the Western Conference or the Eastern?
I mean, was that the EasternConference Finals?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
It was the Finals.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
It was the.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Liberty.
It was like the Final Finals.
They either called a foul onthe FISA and it really wasn't a
foul.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Right, so who was in the finals again?

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Liberty and the Lynx.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Oh, okay, okay yeah, because she's still kind of like
Salty about it, salty about it,and she also admitted to being
a sore loser, which is fine, especially in those kind of
moments.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Like, yeah, i'm'm gonna be a sore loser.
Like, yeah, because we werethat close to our goal and you
took it, you snatched it from usright.
So you know, and moments likethat, it's like you shouldn't
let you know.
Um, it shouldn't come down toone call from the referees, man,
that means you know, but itthat was a really good series.
It got a lot of ratings, likeit was.
Man, the WNBA is definitely onthat upswing that me and Vils I
feel like me and Vils had a lot.
I ain't going to say a lot to dowith it, but we had something

(03:51):
to do with it, because we'vedefinitely been shouting out the
WNBA now for quite a bit oftime, way before it started
getting hella popular.
So, man, just continue tosupport.
But a lot of offseason moveshave been made.
Yes, they have, like the dubhas been shaken up, like

(04:12):
literally shaken up.
Teams that were like contendinghave now blown up their whole
teams like and I, and.
And one thing that stands outto me I remember at the end of
the aces season, right when theliberty had, you know, kicked
about the playoffs, you knowthey beat them becky said and

(04:34):
I'm talking about coach beckyhammond she said this will not.
the team that you see today willnot be the same team that
you'll see next season, right?
So it had us all kind of likewho, who ain't gonna be here,
who ain't gonna be here, who'snot going to be coming back?
Um, and recently we found outwho would not be back with the

(04:57):
aces, and that is kelsey plum.
Yep, kelsey plum.
Kelsey Plum did a trade with.
It was a three-team trade.
It was the Aces, the SeattleStorm and the Los Angeles Sparks
.
So Kelsey Plum is going to LA,joy Lloyd is coming to the Aces

(05:26):
and I believe the Storm got thenumber two draft pick in a
player and I'm sorry I don'thave all that information pulled
up, but they did get a player.
But the biggest thing for them, they got the number two pick in
this year's draft.
So let's stop right here.
Vails Kelsey Plum to the Lakers, to the Sparks.

(05:48):
How do you feel about that?
What does that do for you?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, I think it's a good move for the Sparks.
I think that Kelsey Plum bringsnot only like a veteran
presence to that young Sparksteam, but also she brings
buckets to the Sparks team.
And when you think about therookie this past year, Jackson

(06:15):
right, Rekia, rekia Jackson andCameron Brink.
And Brink, who Brink went outearly with a seizing and an
injury.
Yeah who went out early with aseizing and an injury.
Yeah, and then just everythingabout the Sparks Club.
I think that it's a good movefor them.
And then, not only to mention agirl that had been going off

(06:38):
recently and getting buckets, not recently but during the
season, during the Sparks seasonwhat was her name?
Golly who.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Oh, De'Erica Hamby.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
De'Erica, de'erica.
I mean, I think that it's agood move for the Sparks.
I think that you know they'regoing to be young, they're going
to be gritty, they're going tobe competitive.
I hope that Brink comes back.
You know a better version ofherself, but I just think that

(07:09):
it brings a good.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I think Kelsey brings a good like I said, veteran
presence and also she bringsbuckets yeah, and for a while
too she had been saying that shekind of wanted to be the guy or
the woman, and I think going tothe Sparks, yeah she would be.
I mean, rakia jackson man, she's gonna just be, I think, if

(07:31):
not more dominant than she wasthis past season.
I think she put put up a hellof rookie showcase.
You know what I mean yeah shewas.
She was damn near averaging adouble double.
You know I'm saying rakia wasgiving you 15-plus buckets a
game.
So I think the addition ofKelsey Plum just makes the
Sparks that much more tougher, that much more scarier, and I've

(07:56):
seen that being a good fit forher.
Honestly.
I can see her being a spark.
You know what I mean.
Obviously, we're going to missher on the aces um.
Obviously we're gonna miss heron the aces um.
But I mean, I think she got agood replacement out of jewel
lloyd.
Uh, that's for dang sure um,man, you know.
You know what jewel lloyd bringsand she's a walking bucket too,

(08:18):
and there were times wherekelsey, you know I'm saying was
inconsistent.
Same thing with jewel lloyd shecan, she could fly inconsistent
, you know I'm saying wasinconsistent.
Same thing with your lawyer shecan, she can fly inconsistent
you know what I mean moreconsistent than Kelsey?
Yeah, exactly, so I think you.
If the storm is offering thatup, I think you gotta take that

(08:38):
trade every day, and twice onSunday you just have to.
So I think the aces have becomemore dangerous, especially on
the offensive side, with theaddition of Jewel Lloyd.
Yeah, I mean, think about that.
You have Asia, you have JackieYoung, you have Chelsea Gray,
and now you have added a JewelLloyd.

(09:00):
That's tough, that's scarybusiness, it is.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
So I am not mad at that trade at all, not either
it's gonna is, is this gonna bean interesting year in the wmba
oh, definitely so.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Um man, another surpriser.
Uh, I remember when I wassaying that teams that were
actually contending have nowblown up their whole squad.
I I'm definitely talking aboutthe Connecticut Sun here.
The Connecticut Sun hasliterally dismantled their
starting five and they, at thetime, were contenders.

(09:36):
They were contenders last year.
Alyssa Thomas was the firstdomino to fall.
She is now playing with thePhoenix.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Mercury, which is crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I think that is a hell of a pickup for Phoenix
there, especially with BrittanyGriner is now playing and we'll
get there.
But Brittany Griner is nowplaying with the Atlanta Dream,
which, like I said, we'll getthere.
That's not bad either, butthink about it.
Alyssa Thomas is now joiningKalaya Copper Diana Taurasi.

(10:10):
I'm sure now they're gettingall this information she's going
to come back for another yearand we'll get here.
Also Asatu Sabali, but we'llget there.
So Alyssa Thomas going to thefinish.
I was surprised.
I didn't think that they wasgoing to blow up the team the
way they did, but here we are.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
How did you feel when you found out Alyssa Thomas was
going to the Phoenix Mercury?
I mean, it was shocking because, like it's Alyssa, and you saw
what Connecticut was able to do,not just this past year, but
like the previous seasons beforethat, and it's just a different
, a different look, it's changedand I think, um man, it's just
different, everything's justdifferent.

(10:53):
Now, like we're normally notused to seeing all of these
moves happen in the wmba likethis, right.
I feel like this is ours, likeall, the stars are like moving
yeah, and I and we'll get to theNBA, but it's almost like kind
of similar to the NBA with everylike, all of the moves and
changes that are happening, andso it's making it even that more

(11:14):
interesting to like, payattention and watch.
And so, yeah, like I wasn't,I'm not, it's going to be
different.
Like she and I know Alyssa, like because she's playing in
the unrivaled league right now,so I know Alyssa has a lot more
to give to the game, right, andI guess this may be a little

(11:40):
like, I don't know like itseparates her and Dawana or
whatever, but you know, like itis what it is, like it's a
business and you know you can'texpect them to continue to play
together forever.
But like I just I don't know.
I think that it's.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
It's a good shakeup.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
It's a shakeup in the league.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
It's definitely a good shakeup in the league and
you know things gonna lookdifferent in the w and I want to
say this like with elissa beingthe first domino to fall from
that connecticut team, I wasjust thinking, like what they
got rid of their heart and soul, like, make no mistake at, was
definitely the heart and soul ofthat team.
So once that happened, I knewthey was in a rebuild and I'm
trying to figure out like whyare y'all in a rebuild?
Y'all was the top, y'all wasnumber three team in the league?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yeah, because you can still compete.
It's just like why you don'thave to fix it if it's not broke
Right.
You know what I mean.
Right, maybe add another pieceor something With these new
players, I guess coming in theleague soon and the way things
shaped out.
I just think that they feltlike they had to do that.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
I think Connecticut hit the panic button because
soon after D'Janae Carringtonshe got traded to our beloved
Dallas Wings, which we're goingto get there, man, but hell of a
pickup for the Wings.
No, it was.
Hell of a pickup for the Wings,it was.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Man D'Janae is like what you would consider, maybe a
three and d, but I more soconsider her more of a defensive
stopper than anything and shejust has that fire and that
passion and I love to watch umon any level, whether it's a
professional level, thecollegiate level or like high
school level um, you don't seeit much at the junior high level

(13:22):
, but like when someone loves toget stops and they take pride
in stopping you from scoring, like so I like that type of
player and the wings did picksomebody up in her like that
type of player, that was man,and also Tyasha Harris, another,

(13:44):
that's their point guard forthe Suns.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
I'm telling you, they blew up their starting five.
She's also going to the Wings.
Good, a good pick up there, agood pick up there.
And then, last but not least, dejuana Bonner has also left
Connecticut and she will beplaying for the Indiana Fever.
And let me tell you somethingOoh, let me tell you about the,
the Indiana Fever.
And let me tell you somethingOoh, let me tell you about the
goddamn Indiana Fever.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Ooh, they're starting to look different.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
That different they going to be different.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Because it's the passion for me, because Dewana
has always been a passionateplayer to me, she's a super
competitor player.
To me she's a super competitorand I think, just being a
veteran presence in that indianalocker room, along with who's
going to be a sophomore, uh, inthe league rookie uh, she's not
a rookie anymore, but she'sgoing to be a sophomore in the

(14:35):
league caitlyn clark, like it's.
That's dangerous man.
And then, not to not to mentionthat they re-signed.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Kelsey.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Mitchell, who had an amazing year this past year with
the Indiana Fever.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
It's a little different Indiana, like for real
on paper.
You have to take notice.
Think about this starting five.
Listen to this Kaylin Clark,Kelsey, Mitchell, Aaliyah,
Boston, DeJuan Abaner and Idon't know who.
The fifth one is becauseNylissa Smith has been traded to

(15:13):
the Dallas Wings and we'regoing to get all that to the
Dallas Wings.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Everything's different right now, man.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
So it's like think about that.
Yo, hats off to the IndianaFever organization for building
a team around Kaitlyn Clark.
They are not playing around.
Did they make the playoffs andthey lost, like in the first
round, or something like that.
They are built to go thedistance.

(15:38):
I'm telling you that right now.
Yeah.
Indiana Fever are built to gothe distance.
They are.
So please take notice Now again.
Like Bill said, this is goingto be Kaitlyn Clark's sophomore
year.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Trust me, she's taking heed to what y'all tried
to do to her last year, andshe's getting a break, like
she's getting a rest, like she'snot playing in a rival league,
she's not playing overseas andshout out to women who are
getting their bread and gettingtheir money, who don't, who
aren't forced to have to playoverseas.
Now, like, you can stay home, you can rest your legs, you can

(16:11):
work out, you can still likework on your skills and all that
.
But you don't.
You're not forced to playbecause you need to make money,
right, but yeah, it's, yeah,it's, it's yeah.
She she's taking heat toeverything that's been said
about her.
She remembers what her rookieyear was like and being booed.
You know what I mean.
She had a whole lot of fans, but Kaitlyn Clark also had a
whole lot of haters, and so,like I mean, it's brewing up to

(16:35):
be something crazy and scary.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
It is.
It really is.
Oh, that's who it is.
Natasha Howard from the DallasWings has signed with the
Indiana Fever.
So yeah, that's the startingfive.
Let me run that back to y'allagain.
So Kaitlyn Clark, kelseyMitchell, natasha Howard,
dewanda Bonner and AaliyahBoston.
That's a scary top five.
Scary hours Like look, just getready when the season starts

(17:03):
because, Indiana Fever is noteffing playing with none of
y'all right um another.
Okay, like satsu yeah yeah, unfortunately we we lost her um.
She bent, she was traded um tothe phoenix mercury along with,
yeah, along with Kalani Brown, one of our twin towers man.

(17:27):
So here's the thing, man, Isaid we don't need to keep both
of them.
We don't need to keep both ofthem.
Either you gonna keep Tierra oryou gonna keep Kalani.
I wanted you to get rid ofTierra personally because I went
to the games and Tierra, shegives out, she gives up on plays
, she walks up and down thecourt.

(17:48):
She don't be having no hustle.
She always arguing with therefs Like that's who you get rid
of.
I actually like Kalani.
I think Kalani plays harder Now.
Is Tierra maybe the better bigyeah, when she's more focused in
and locked in on the game.
But she's so busy doing otherthings that she's not focused.

(18:08):
So I I felt like you shouldhave kept kalani, got rid of
tiara, but kalani brown is gone.
And now with the uh, phoenixmercury, and again, that team is
solid, that team is stacked.
Um satu's coming back frominjury, but even towards the end
of the season, when she cameback after the Olympics, she

(18:28):
still was putting up solidnumbers and, like Vel said,
she's also getting some burn inin the unrivaled league and
she's been hooping there andwe'll talk more about the
unrivaled league soon.
But Phoenix is not to be F'dwith eitheroenix is not to be f

(18:50):
with you.
A bonafide superstar and a teamman hard-nosed player, kalaya
copper, diana tarassi.
Then you got, uh, sancho sabli,oh man yeah that's a team you
got to be paying attention to.
Like the shakeup of the WNBA isso different.
Like everybody has a super team.
Have you noticed?
It's like the start of superteams dog Yep, yep, yep In the

(19:15):
dug.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
It's balanced.
It's a balanced league.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeah, and so the Aces ain't going to just run away
with it like they used to Nah.
Run away with it like they usedto Nah Because you got to come
out and play.
Brittany Griner is now withAtlanta Dream Yep, you know what
I'm saying, which is crazy.
So you got Brittany Griner, yougot Alicia Gray and you got Ron
Howard.
Come on.
Yeah, Now granted, they lostTina Charles.

(19:40):
Tina Charles is now withConnecticut.
Mm-hmm.
But guess what Atlanta did?
They went and got Breonna Jonesfrom Connecticut oh, now that's
tough they back court and theirfront court is disgusting yeah.
Atlanta's not here to play withy'all at all come on y'all, the

(20:00):
shake up is real it is theshake up is real, you better be
paying attention.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
And Diana Taurasi?
She hadn't announced herretirement.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
No, no, she wanted to see what they was going to do
and they did and she coming back, I promise she coming back?

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
She want to run that back With that team.
Yeah yeah, there's no going tobe any pressure on Taurasi.
Right, you know what I'm saying, who else?
I mean?
It's been so much, it's been alot happening.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
It's been a lot happening.
I mean, those are really likethe big ones.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Like I said, I was wanting Nalissa Smith to come to
the wings.
I felt like she would be goodhere.
Mm-hmm, I just saw her playwhen the fever came and I was
like you know what?
That's what we need.
We need a versatile big Because, like I said, the Twin Towers
that we did have they wasn'tdoing that, they not moving

(20:52):
around, they too big, them girlsis big, and I don't mean being
a fat, they just big, they thick, they thick with it.
They drag a lot of weight andthey don't move that fast,
dragging them out of the way andthey don't move that fast.
So I was like, no, you need aversatile big in in.
Uh, nalisa smith.
So I'm glad that the basketballgods answered my prayer and she

(21:13):
is playing for the wings andshe got a lot to prove man, she
did not have the the best seasonin indiana for different
reasons, and so this is almostlike a redemption year for her.
So I hope she comes and she'sfrom texas, so she's almost like
she's home, right, so,hopefully, you know, with her
being back home, a redemptionyear, she can just go crazy and

(21:33):
teaming her up with Enrique andDJ Carrington.
You know, I don't know how allthat's going to go, you know.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
We still got a number one draft pick too.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
And we do.
I was gonna get to that.
Yeah, um and we do.
We got that number one pick andwe hope management does the
right thing, um and and get youknow page pb.
So if it, I mean, the futurelooks bright for the wings man
even though I am sad that sabalyis gone, I am not mad at how

(22:04):
they're constructing this Wingsteam.
I'm just not.
And thank God we got newmanagement in Like we had to go
get a new GM because and a newcoach.
And a new coach.
So we're going to see how thatgoes.
But as far as management goes,I'm happy that we got a new GM
that actually knows how toconstruct the basketball team,
because I don't know what thehell they was trying to do these

(22:24):
past few years.
But, it's shaping up to bereally good for the Dallas Wings
.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
It is and, unfortunately, like this is the
last year that they'll beplaying in Arlington, which
sucks because after this yearthey'll be moving on to play in
Dallas.
But, man, it's going to be anexciting year for the Wings.
I can feel that.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
It is, it is and I want to say this real quick and
we'll move on to the draft here-Okay.
So Courtney Vandersloot, whichwas a part of the New York
Liberty championship team.
She is now going to be playingin Chicago.
Does that move the needle atall for Chicago?
No, no, um, does that move theneedle at all for?

Speaker 2 (23:06):
chicago, do you think ?
No, it doesn't, it doesn't, no,and I don't really even have to
, uh, go into detail, like Idon't, I don't have to elaborate
on it, like no it doesn't.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
it doesn't, I mean she's a shooter, which they do
need shooters, but it it doesn'tbecause you got to ask about a
pass ball to her.
So I don't know exactly whatChicago's plan is here.
They don't really have a pointguard.
Diamond to Shields is now withConnecticut and, honestly,
diamond to Shields was anon-factor anyway last season.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
And you still got Kennedy Carter coming back too.
She is.
She is one of the ones KennedyCarter coming back too.
She is.
She is one of the ones thatwent overseas to play.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
She is.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
And she's making noise over there.
She is, and so I think they'recomfortable with her coming back
and doing her thing and beingthe one to get them into their
offense and deliver the ball andalso create her own shot.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
She can.
So I mean, you got Kennedy, yougot Angel, you got Vander Sloot
um that's no, I'm just sayingum from south carolina I mean,
yeah, but I'm what I mean.
My pause was is is I'm notscared of that team no, no I
mean it's gonna be tough.

(24:23):
I think it's gonna be tough forchicago this upcoming it is, and
I and I and I feel bad becausecome on organizing, come on
chicago.
Y'all got a lot of fans, yougot a lot of attention.
You made no moves thisoffseason.
Well, as of right now, you havemade no moves Besides the game
fans.
Again, chicago needs shooters, but they also.
I mean Kennedy Carter is good, but she can't play the whole

(24:45):
game, can she?

Speaker 2 (24:45):
No, she can't.
So you gotta have someone.
And I mean, who knows what'llhappen between now and the draft
?
And anybody they may, you know, decide to pick up, but like,
yeah, there has to be somebodycoming off the bench that can
carry them until because we justbecause Kennedy Carter is a
very passionate player andsometimes she gets herself into

(25:06):
foul trouble and so, like youknow, you have to have somebody
coming off the bench that willbe able to run the offense.
Very true, I mean, and get a uh,angel the ball and everybody
else the ball, so yeah, verytrue.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
All right, now let's get into the draft.
I've been looking at a lot ofthese mock drafts cause I'm
excited.
You know, dallas wings have thenumber one pick of the draft
and also throughout the tradeswe ended up with the eighth pick
.
Then we did a trade forCarrington, so now we got the
12th pick.
So now we got a one and a 12.

(25:43):
So as most have us down aspicking.
Paige Beckers at number oneVils.
How do you feel about that?
Should Paige go number one toDallas?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
She should.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
That wasn't the tune you were saying.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Yeah, no, she should, but I feel like Paige Beckers
is injury-prone.
Mm-hmm.
And we've seen it throughout thecourse of her college or her
collegiate career.
And you know, I think that theDallas Williams need to be
really careful with making sure, like, hey, this is who we're
going with, but I still thinkthat she's exciting.

(26:19):
I think that she will fill moreseats.
Obviously I think the Williamsgames were the Williams games
were full and sold out but Ithink she will fill seats but at
the same time, like, if she'snot going to be able to play, it
doesn't make sense.
You know what I mean?
True, the best ability isavailability, that's true.
But at the same time, I feellike she may be the best

(26:40):
available in the draft.
Now I'm looking at a couple ofmock drafts and I feel like and
I've seen this girl play with myown eyes, I've watched these
games Olivia Mow own eyes.
I've watched these games.
Olivia Miles hey, like she is ahooper, she just hoops, she
just hoops.
Olivia Miles has been gettingtriple doubles this year,

(27:01):
playing alongside Hannah Hildago, and I think that, whichever
way the wings decided to go, Idon't think that Paige will be a
bad pick and I also don't thinkthat Olivia will be a bad pick
and I also don't think thatOlivia would be a bad pick, but
I mean oh because they flubbedon angel.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
They have to pick page.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
You have to because she's a star.
She's a star in in college, she's a big name and, like you,
have to go that route.
If, if she, if they were to getthough Olivia Miles, I don't
think that people would be mad.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
And I think that she would fit well with the wings.
Yeah, if you watch hoops, youwon't be mad at picking Olivia
Miles at number one, becauseshe's been hooping for Notre
Dame.
And I can't wait for HannahHidalgo to get out, because I
love her, hannah.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
I love her.
I love Hannah too.
She just she's so passionate, she cares about the game.
She hoops, she backs up whatshe says and she don't talk a
whole whole lot of noise but shestand on what she believes in.
She stands on her, her, herconfidence and her belief in her
game.
And I really, really likeHannah you know what I mean.

(28:14):
And so, yeah, I also like KikiIrv, the forward.
Like I think she can go get herown self a bucket.
She can create her own shot.
Like there are some decentpicks with the wings having the
number one pick.
Like there are some decentpicks that they can go with at
number one, even though Paige isprobably who we think that
they're gonna like eventually.

(28:34):
Like, you know, just take, theyhave so many options, yep, that
they can take at the number onepick, and so yeah, that's very
true um uh like, like, just asbecca lavelle said, like you
better pick page, but if youwere to pick olivia, I'm not
upset.
At all.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
I wouldn't be upset at that pick man Kiki Erifan.
Yeah See, I wouldn't be mad atthat either but I don't know if
I'm taking her at number onethough.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
You got Mauro from LSU.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
And that's, I hope, mauro, because see the ooh.
We were at the eighth, they gother going eighth.
We had the eighth pick until we, you know, did the same trade
for Dejanay.
That made us get the 12th pick.
But if Maro falls to 12, yougot to go get her.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
You have to get her.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
She is putting up 2020.
Hello, like vision, likeeyesight 2020.
Yeah.
You have to go get her, andshe's going to come with a fan
base because she plays at LSUand so we're right there by
Louisiana, so you have to go gether.
What about Azizi Fudd?

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Ozzy Fudd, is that her name?
I like Ozzy too.
Is she a senior this year?

Speaker 1 (29:45):
She, is she coming out?

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I like Ozzy too, that's why I said there's so
many options that you can gowith that you really can't go
wrong.
She's not going number one.
No, no, I'm talking about thislater in the first, at the
number 12.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Yeah, she could fall, but right now, according.
To.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Bleacher Reports they have her at nine, so we may not
get Ozzy.
May not get Ozzy, but Iwouldn't be mad if she somehow
fell to the wings and then gother and just like tahina, pow
pow wait a minute.
We ain't even talked about yeah, tahina, pow, pow, yep, like
that.
Like I said, there are a lot ofdifferent options and we hadn't
even uh mentioned um, uh, tcuvan lift we hadn't even

(30:28):
mentioned van lift they don'teven got her going top 10.
She may not go top 10, butwhatever team gets her, that's
going to be a steal.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
If she falls to where we can, I will take that.
I'll take.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
HBL Haley yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
She has elevated her game.
She brought her game back toprominence once she got out of
LSU.
She wasn't playing her game atLSU.
Now that she's at TCU, I feellike her drag stock should have
went up, but they don't even gother in the top 10.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Man Now Sedona Prince they got her at the 12th spot.
Yep.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
I would be mad at that.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Nah, yeah, she's doing her thing this year with
TCU.
She's 6'7".
Yes, only 24.
Yes, like I think that's thetype of big when you talk about,
like Kaylani Brown, and theother one from Mississippi State
, like Prince, is the type ofbig that I want somebody that's
going to be aggressive and getbuckets and be dominant in the
paint, like I mean it would benice.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I would definitely look if Anissa is gone at 12.
I'm grabbing Sedona.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Yeah, yeah, you have to, and she can stay, like she
ain't got to look for nowhereelse to stay.
She can be here.
I'm grabbing Sedona, that makessense I'm grabbing Sedona.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
I don't even know where they got.
See, yeah, they don't have HVLgoing in the first round, which
is a disservice Because she's'slike, I think she's like
nominated for like I forgot whataward, but she's nominated for
one of them awards as like oneof the best point guards in the
league, I mean in college.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
She's been in college long enough so I mean I
wouldn't be.
You know she's grown, she'slearned life, but she's been in
there for a minute, yeah.
She started out with.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Louisville, you got to remember that.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
And then she went to LSU.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
That didn't quite work out like they wanted.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yeah, and then you know at TCU yes, she's hooping,
but yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Yeah, I'm just saying the shakeup is real.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
It is.
It's definitely real in theWNBA.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
And I'm excited about this year's draft because
there's some talent coming outthis year and there's going to
be some more talent coming outnext year, because I think
that's when Fla Jay is going tocome out.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
So I'm going to be excited to see who lands old Fla
.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Oh man, All right, let's get into the Unrivaled
League.
The Unrivaled League, man, thisis that 3v3.
And I'm telling you, Vils, I'vebeen excited watching them play
.
It's been exciting and I'vebeen excited to watch them play.
So the Unrivaled League wasco-founded by Breonna Stewart

(32:57):
and Nafisa Collier and I'mtelling you, this thing is based
in Miami and these girls battleevery Friday, Saturday and
Monday and I have beenthoroughly entertained by the

(33:19):
hooping.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
I've been seeing, and what's so special about 3v3 is
you can't hide, you cannot hide, nope.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
So if you can't play defense, guess what everybody
knows you can't play defense 3v3basketball is, is is one of the
one of the I'm trying to thinkof the word like one of the
things that helps you learn howto play basketball for real.
Yeah, you know, I mean likecutting, screening, moving
without the ball, um, just itand then, and then at the end of

(33:47):
the day, like getting a bucket.
You know I mean, but uh, yeah,I I'm.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, unraveled has been exciting it has definitely
been exciting right now, um,it's like six teams um that are
in this league, um the lunarowls, the laces, the mist, the
phantom, the rose and the vinyl.
Um, right now, theuna owls aresix and oh yeah six, no,

(34:13):
undefeated, ain't nobody beatingthem.
And that is a tough squad.
That is a tough squad.
The luna owls yep, uh, let metell you who is on that team man
.
You got shakira austin from themystics.
You got camera bring from spark.
She's not playing due to her,um, acl injury, uh, so she will
be playing unrivaled next year.

(34:35):
You got Nafisa Collier from theLynx, skylar Diggins-Smith from
the Storm, alicia Gray from theDream and Courtney Williams
from the Lynx.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
And they're undefeated.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Undefeated, Undefeated.
You got bonafide hoopers onthat squad and right now can no
team find a method to beatingthem Right.
And actually I really do enjoywatching the Luna Owls play.
Hoo-hoo, that's their littlecall and I be doing it with them

(35:07):
.
Which?

Speaker 2 (35:08):
is crazy because Cameron Brink is on the roster.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
She is, she is, but unfortunately because of her ACL
Right.
But yeah, like, I've beenthoroughly enjoying them, man,
and I'm going to go on recordand say like this, I have found
a newfound respect for SkylarDiggins-Smith man.
I like her man.
She's funny, she's passionate.
Yo, she's about the game, man.

(35:32):
And I like her.
I've never really been a SkylarDiggins-Smith fan, but watching
Unrival she has made a fan outof me.
I ain't even lying to you.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
I ain't lying to you Nah, she's hit four game winners
in the Unrival League, and youcan tell that she's having fun
with it, yep.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
And so, yeah, I mean I agree with you.
And then also coming in numbertwo, the Laces, sitting at four
and two man, that is a toughteam.
The Laces are a tough team.
So who's on that team?
We got Big Mama Steph, that'sStephanie Dolson.
Tiffany Hayes, kate Martin, kayla McBuckets, kayla McBride,
alyssa Thomas and Jackie YoungTough team.
Buckets, kayla McBride, yeah, alyssa Thomas and Jackie Young
tough team.
When I say those names, youalready know that's a tough

(36:14):
squad right um and they'refinding ways to win.
I think a couple of them arehurt right now and what's so
cool about the unrivaled leaguelike, if you're hurt they'll
bring some other girls in, letthem get some burn in until you
recover and get better.
So it gives them exposure aswell.
But my favorite player so farfrom the Laces has to be Kayla

(36:35):
McBuckets.
That girl be drilling, killing.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Yeah, she do, she do.
It's like the WNBA never left.
I mean you get to see thesegirls compete.
It's not on a huge, huge stage, but I mean they still out here
getting buckets.
And yeah, kayla McBride, kaylain buckets.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
She's hooping for real.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I'm not going to go through everybody man.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
But some of the prominent people of course, like
Breonna Stewart, george Lloydis on there, rekia DeJanae,
brittany Griner, of course whoI'm excited that didn't think
she was too big enough for theleague was Angel Reese.
I think Angel Reese is gettinga lot of burn in.

(37:19):
She's getting a lot of practicein.
She's studying and learningfrom a lot of the greats,
because Lisa Leslie is a bigpart of this Unrivaled League.
Lisa Leslie is what A postplayer.
I've seen clips of her workingwith Angel, angel and Nafisa.
Lisa Leslie all working togetherduring prizes like Angel's

(37:39):
going to benefit a lot from thisleague and I'm excited to see
her leaping here too, man, because she grabbed 15 rebounds
before she was ejected out ofthe game.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
She only played 7 minutes.
Man, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
That's scary, I know y'all be talking about oh, she
be grabbing her own misses?
Nah, you don't watch the games, she just she hawks the ball,
she hawks the ball.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
And she's good at that, she knows how to do that.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
I mean, that's her game All you gotta do is find
your niche.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
And she how to do that hey, I mean, that's her
game.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
That's all you gotta do is find your niche, and she's
a rebounder.
She's a rebounder, but she'sexpanding her offensive game as
well.
I've seen her um the clipsthat's been posted.
Man, she's going out there, going behind the arc, chunking
them things up.
She's developing a mid-range.
The layup is still suspect.
I ain't gonna lie to you, itwas a little still suspect but
she passed up.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
It was other night.
She passed up a whole entirelayup just to pass it back out.
I'm like, come on, you gotta beconfident.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
You gotta be confident in that ugly ass layup
.
You just gotta be confident init Long as that bitch gonna win
right.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
So you know you got Sabrina Ionesco, I mean, it's
got the names.
So if you haven't tuned intothe Unrivaled League, I suggest
you do so, because you'remissing out on some great 3v3
basketball man.
Like I said, it comes on Friday, saturday and Monday and it's
been great man.

(39:04):
So check your local listeners, check out the Unrivaled League.
Yo, I hope this is not aone-and-done season for them.
I hope it keeps growing, itkeeps building and, um, yeah,
that's that all right, here wego.
Bz, please drop the beat.

(39:26):
The NBA, the NBA.
All I can say and all I can dois just shake my head.
That's really all I can do.
It has been a crazy week in theNBA week in the NBA, a really,

(39:59):
really crazy week as we approachthe trade deadline.
There has been some crazy, someunimaginable, some confusing,
some heartbreaking all of theadjectives that describe sadness

(40:25):
.
Trades that have transpired Yep, I'm just going to start this
one.
De'aaron Fox Is now a Spur.
Zach Levine Is now a King.
I am not mad at that trade.

(40:48):
I think the Spurs have gottenbetter.
I think the Spurs treading inthe right direction as far as
their future goes.
Um, darren Fox will pair wellwith Wimby.
I can't wait to see what thatlooks like.
Um, especially, uh, with ChrisPaul still on the team bringing
his veteran leadership like hedoes.

(41:08):
I am not mad at that trade.
The keys aren't going anywhereanyway, right.
So Darren Fox leaving, that'sprobably the best thing that he
could do for his career, not forreal, um, because, yeah, what
do you got?
What do you gotta say aboutthat?

Speaker 2 (41:28):
I mean, he's been there since he was a teenager
and they really, you know know, accomplished a whole whole lot,
but they did have some goodtimes, you know lighting the
beam and all of that.
But I just think that it wastime for De'Aaron Fox to move on
.
Yeah, and I think that it was agood move.
Now I will say this until Wimby.
I mean, wimby is a freakingalien, right, and that's his

(41:57):
little emoji symbol anyway forhim.
He's an alien, but they stilldon't scare me.
I don't think De'Aaron Fox,going to the Spurs, moves the
needle.
I haven't seen them play yet.
I haven't seen them play.
I don't know, I'm just talkingfrom just the move in general,
but I do like the move for Fox,I do like the move for Wimby.

(42:18):
This is pretty much.
This is Chris Paul'sreplacement.
Yeah absolutely.
I don't know if Chris Paul willstill be with the San Antonio
Spurs after this season.
I don't see it happening.
I think Chris Paul needs toretire.
Yeah, yeah, he does.
He may need to retire, but yeah, it doesn't move the needle for
me, but it can get scary.

(42:40):
I mean, it's Wimby and it's Fox, and I think Fox has gained a
whole new motivation just goingto a different team.
You know what I mean.
Yeah, when you go from a teamthat drafted you you've been
there since a teenager, um, andwe'll get to the other one in a
minute but when you go from thatto another team, like it gives

(43:01):
you a new sense of hope, itgives you a new sense of life
and this it could be, it couldbe a good little duo between him
and wimby.
Uh, fox is still pretty young,he's not not super old or
whatever, but for me, for me, itdoesn't move the needle, but I
mean, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
I don't think it moves the needle right now, but
I think you build on that, because the Spurs actually have
a nice little core Right and I'mnot saying that adding De'Aaron
Fox makes them a playoff teamtoday, but I would look for them
to make the playoffs next yearfor sure.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can see that.
I can see that it bringsexcitement to San Antonio, which
San Antonio is a boring city tome.
I'm sorry, I like San Antonio,but it's a boring city.
I mean, it's some good Mexicanfood there, the Riverwalk, the
Alamo you got the Alamo and allof that and Riverwalk, but it's

(43:59):
not anything super, super, superexciting happening in San
Antonio.
It's not a huge market, but onething I will say is those fans
embrace their superstars.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
They love the Spurs.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
They definitely love the Spurs.
They definitely love the Spurs, and so that could be good for
them, and so I'm happy for, Iguess, the Spurs fans.

Speaker 1 (44:16):
Yeah, yeah, it's bringing them back to prominence
, man, because it was a time, man Spurs was running it
Dominant, you know, dominant.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
Five Like championships ran through the
Spurs but seriously.

Speaker 1 (44:28):
So it's good to see them.
You know up on the upswing.
Now what about Zach Levine?
Zach Levine to the Kings.
What does that do for you?
Does that move any needles?

Speaker 2 (44:38):
No, and I hate to sound like this, but it don't,
Like some teams just don't scareme.
You know what I mean.
Like he just don't scare me.
But I am happy that Zach foundhis way out of Chicago.
Doesn't seem like he was happythere.
He also reunited with DeMarDeRozan and so you know, I guess
these are one of those thingslike we just have to see.

(45:00):
But yeah, it doesn't move theneedle for me.
I don't know how you feel, butno, it doesn't.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
It's not a move-a-needer A needle mover.
It's not A mover-needer Aneedle mover.
It's not a mover neater aneedle mover, that's good, so no
, but if you can get out of thedumpster fire, that is Chicago.
I think you should.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
you don't want to be there they're not doing anything
and it doesn't seem likethey're trying either um so good
for zach levine.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Um again, maybe some pieces next year, we may, you
know, second man could be aplaying team you know, we'll see
yeah, the west is, west is wideopen.
West is big.
West is ever evolving.
Yes, it is.
So you know, put some piecestogether, Get back out there
next year and let's see whathappens.
Yep.

(46:00):
I guess, the moment we've allbeen waiting for, when we all
came here to discuss the tradeseen and heard all around the
world.
This is going to be tough, sobear with me.

(46:26):
I am talking about Luka Doncicand the Mavericks are no longer
together.
The Mavericks have traded LukaDoncic to the Los Angeles Lakers

(47:02):
for Anthony Davis.
And what's his name?
Max Christie.
Max Christie in the 2029 firstround draft pick.
First of all, I can't evenbelieve those words came out of
my mouth.
Um, so again, bear with me.
Uh, I'm hurt, but let's juststart here.

(47:23):
Let's just before we really getoff into this, where were you
when you heard about this trade?
What was going through yourmind?
Yeah, just paint the wholescenario for us.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
Tell us your side.
Okay, so this is probably well,it is one of the biggest trades
in NBA history, given that Lukais only 25 years old.
Five-time first team.
All-nba led the Mavericks toNBA Finals just this past season

(48:02):
, the 2023-2024 season.
Anyway, I was at home,obviously.
Well, I won't say obviously, because you guys don't know me
like that.
I was at home and I had justgot through watching the Los
Angeles Lakers versus the NewYork Knicks.

(48:24):
Now, mind you, this was aSaturday night game, so it was
televised on ABC and I was justat home.
I was just at home watching thegame.
You know, uh, lakers that nightdid not have Anthony Davis, and
so you know, I didn't reallyhave high hopes of us winning,

(48:45):
you know, um, but the Lakersended up playing really well
against the Knicks team, who hadjust won five in a row and my
guy, the living legend, lebronJames, had just gotten a
30-point triple-double.

(49:05):
So I was riding off of a high.
Just that alone, you know whatI mean.
And I had enjoyed the game.
I was about to get ready to getin the bed, maybe turn on some
Netflix, fall asleep to a movie, and all of a sudden and this
was, and this is literally howit happened.
I had my phone in my hand and,um I, my phone was open.

(49:29):
So if you're an iPhone user, uh, you know that.
Like, obviously, if your phoneis open, you know you'll get a
notification and if you haveyour banners on at the top,
it'll come from the top.
And so I had my phone open.
I'm I'm watching the highlightsof the New York Knicks and the
Lakers game, because that's justwhat I do If we win a game,
like I want to see it all.
And so I saw something thatsaid breaking and, you know, had

(49:53):
the alert emoji or whatever.
And so I double taped, I lookedat it, but I didn't pay any
attention.
But like it was a split secondlater I looked back at my phone
and I saw Luca's name and Icould I could not read that
notification fast enough.
I'm not kidding Like I sawLuca's name and that's all I saw
.
I didn't saw, I didn't seewhatever, whatever else.
It said Like I saw Luca's nameand that's all I saw.
I didn't saw, I didn't seewhatever, whatever else it said.

(50:15):
I just saw Luca's name and Iread the notification and it
said Luca Doncic has been tradedto the Los Angeles Lakers for
Anthony Davis, max Christie anda first round pick.
And when I saw that I went intocomplete shock.
I went into complete shock andthen, of course, you know, I

(50:39):
really didn't give myself achance to like.
Well, I felt it, I was stillfeeling it and so the first call
I made was to my podcast host, lise, and she hadn't seen it yet
.
So I was, like you know, Ipretty much called her like
immediately, immediately when Isaw the news, I called her and I
was just like you're not goingto believe this, guess what just

(51:00):
happened, guess what justhappened.
Like you're not going to likethis.
And she was caught off guardbecause I she was playing I
don't know she was on a PS5 andand, and, and I delivered that
news to her and, yeah, that'swhere I was.
Whenever I found out about Lukabeing traded for AD to the

(51:23):
Lakers and then AD going to theMavericks, it was probably.
I will never forget.
I will never forget that moment.
Whether this works out for theLakers or the Mavericks or vice
versa, I don't know, but I willnever forget where I was when I
received that notification, whatgame it was who had just put

(51:45):
like.
I will never forget that.
I'm still in shock and I stillcan't believe it.
In shock and I still can'tbelieve it.
Um, I do feel really, reallybad for the Mavericks fans
because, um, Luca was their guy.
Luca was, um, the franchiseplayer, the guy who had got
drafted by the Atlanta Hawks andon the same night, on the same

(52:07):
draft night, was traded for um,um, trey Young.
And so Atlanta ended up withTrey Young, dallas ended up with
Luka.
But, yeah, I do feel really, really bad for the Mavs fans.

(52:27):
It has been a lot for me and Iknow this is going to go off,
but, like, for me it's been likekind of like surreal and
shocking because for one and I'mthinking about talking about
the Lakers specifically rightnow for one I felt like the
Lakers were in the fifth seed, and they still are, but fifth
seed winning games.

(52:49):
Ad was out with an abdominalstrain and so he wasn't playing
so like.
So, them getting that big winagainst the Knicks, him being
out, fifth seed, they playingsome really decent defense, they
were starting to catch theirgroove.
And if you're a Lakers fan orif you've been watching the NBA
for the past few years, you knowthat the Lakers have been

(53:10):
terrible.
The only way that they've beengetting into the playoffs is
through the play-in, and so, um,it was very, very, very, very,
very, very shocking.
Um, it was, it was.
I felt like it was a joke.
I went immediately to Twitter, because that's kind of like

(53:33):
where I go for breaking news andcurrent news Nowadays.
Obviously, in the technologyera that we live in, I had to
see this from somebody else,obviously.
I went to Sham's page with theverified check and had to make
sure this was true.
He confirmed yes, this is real,it was true.

(53:54):
He confirmed yes, this is real.
It was crazy.
So, yes, going back to what Iwas saying about the Mavs fans,
like I do feel for the Mavs fansbecause they lost someone who
they felt like I won't say hewas the next Dirk, but he was
going to be there as long asDirk was.
You know two different players.
Obviously, dirk delivered achampionship to Dallas, um, and,
and Dirk is, is so beloved inDallas, and Luca is and was too.

(54:21):
You know what I mean.
And so I really felt bad forthe Mavericks in a moment.
I felt like it was a mistake.
I felt like, you know, I wasasking like, why?
Why did they trade Luca?
Like what's going on?
Like I had all the questionsthat everybody else had.
You know what I mean.
And then on the other side, asfar as the Lakers go, pretty

(54:43):
upset with AD being gone now aswell, as he's been playing, been
playing through lingeringinjuries and actually staying
healthy for the past year and ahalf, and I know that it's funny
to some of you guys, but youknow AD has been labeled street
close and you know he has beenon a tear as of late, and so for

(55:09):
me it was just trying tounderstand why.
What happened?
Why did this happen?
Like what's going on?
Like I don't get it.
This is a bad trait, like I hada lot of different mixed
emotions and but, but I think mymain emotion was just complete
shock, complete and utter shock.

(55:30):
That's for me that that'sreally it like.
And here we are today.
Luca is officially a laker.
He had his introductory pressconference today with them.
Ad and max christie aremavericks.
Um, I don't.
I hadn't seen them do anintroductory press conference,
but they had their first gametonight.

(55:51):
I ate it in play.
He's still trying to get backfrom that abdominal strain, but
it was shocking to me.
It still is shocking to me.
For me, in my lifetime, I don'tremember a trade being this big,
since whenever we found out onthat July 4th that Katie had

(56:15):
went to the Warriors, that itwas, that was more so shocking
but also nerve-wracking, alsosickening that day, you know,
for me, um, but, yeah, man, I,yeah, that's where I was, that's
who I was, that's how I felt, and I do really feel bad for the
Mavs fans because I know thatwas y'all's guy.

(56:37):
I have love for Luka too.
I've always had love for Luka, and now am I going to, like, not
root for him now because of theMavericks fans being sad and
upset?
No, I can't, like, I can't.
You know what I mean.
Am I going to root against ADbecause he's now a maverick and
Max Christie?
No, I'm not gonna do that, youknow I mean.

(56:58):
But this is the reality oftoday's NBA, um, and for it to
happen when nobody knew what wasgoing on not the players.
Luca didn't know, ad didn'tknow, um, the coaches didn't
know, nobody knew, and so it wasjust shocking, man, it's

(57:19):
shocking, and I'm going to endit there because I know you got
to say what you got to say.
Lisa's a huge, huge, hugeMaverick fan, along with other
people that I know, and so I'mgoing to just let her speak her
piece right now people that Iknow, and so.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
I'm gonna just let her, you know, speak her piece
right now.
I kind of just want to startwhere where I was when the news
was delivered to me.
Um, saturday night I wasminding my business plan, ncaa
dynasty, with my man online.
We was on the phone.
You know, I was already mad athim already because he has

(57:54):
stolen my recruits, so I wasalready kind of in a pissy mood.
But I was okay.
You know, we was just having agood time online playing the
game, my phone.
Well, I was already on thephone, so my line beep.
It's kavill kavillavill's.
I'm sorry, aka, ville's, it'sokay and it's late.

(58:17):
You know it's about 11-ish,11.30.
Maybe she ain't calling thislate for nothing, right?
So I was like what she want,it's kind of late, so I click
over.
She was like you won't believethis.
Now, at 1130 at night, gettinga call from Vails at this time

(58:40):
of hour talking about you won'tbelieve this.
I'm already thinking likesomething bad has happened.
So I thought somebody had youknow, excuse me passed away or
died.
So my heart sank for a littlebit.
It just sunk and I'm like what?
And she's like you're not goingto believe this, it's about the
Mavericks.
And so then I kind of felt likejoy, like maybe something good

(59:04):
has happened.
But, she said you're not goingto like this, though, and then
immediately I felt crazy.
I was thinking like, okay, ohLord, who do we trade?
Kyrie PJ?
You know, I went through allthe things and I'm trying to
like grab my phone and get onInstagram or somebody to see I'm
typing in Dallas, you know, whatever you know, I'm just

(59:25):
gonna let you see it, I'm justgonna let you see it.
And I was like what is going on?
And I get on Instagram and Isee Lucas face and I read that
trade and it was 80s face.
And first thing I say I waslike this ain't real.

(59:48):
I was like man, come on, stopplaying.
This ain't even real.
This ain't real.
There's no way this't real.
I was like man, come on stopplaying this ain't even real,
right, this ain't real.
There's no way.
There's no way.
This is real.
And she was like oh, oh, no,it's starting to be everywhere.
So here I am.
I'm trying to go through allthe verified sources the
bleacher reports.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
It's everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Yes, and it starting to pop up everywhere.
Shams.
It's starting to pop upeverywhere and I'm like there's

(01:00:26):
no way, no way like this cannotwhat, yeah, what?
And I'm looking at the terms ofthe trade.
I'm like this this don't evenadd up.
Yeah, not saying ad's a badplayer, but Luka's arguably the
top.
It's one of the top threeplayers in the league right.
And to get an AD and a MaxChristian at 29 first.
That's not that, when you know, other teams is racking them
like five, six first-round draftpicks for their star players,

(01:00:49):
and Luka's a generational talent.
But I wasn't even at that pointyet, I'm just so stuck at that
he's been traded and so denialsets in.
So I was like I said wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, so I click

(01:01:12):
over.
I was like yo, I got to clickmy boyfriend in, I gotta click
him in and I do.
I said I said bae, I said theytraded Luca and then Vils, get
on, she's on, we on three way, like we on three way.
And it's like melee broke loose.

(01:01:33):
He, he tried.
I think at that point he hejumping on twitters and trying
to see what was going on, andthen we just erupted in total
chaos.
Yeah, we did it was chaotic on.
I just remember screaming atone point just like I, just in

(01:01:58):
shock and utter, complete shockat what I was reading and I
remember.
So I just remember putting themon hold and I remember just
running around the house andthen I had found my dad.
I was like they traded Luca.
He was like what?
I was like they, they tradedLuca.

(01:02:21):
Like Luca's gone, he he's withLA.
For who?
I was like Anthony Davis.
He was like nah, I'm like no,they.
Now I'm way more calm than whatI'm saying now.
Then cause then I'm hollering,I'm everything's loud and at an

(01:02:41):
octave of about 20.
And I was talking to my mom.
I was like they traded Luca.
They traded Luca.
Oh my God, they traded Luca.
And she was like what?
I was like he's gone and it wasjust.
I just could not believe it,like I was in denial.
I'm like there's no way thatthey literally have traded Luka

(01:03:08):
Doncic from this team.
How, how, when he's thefranchise player, how, when he's
the face of the team?
How, when we just went to thefinals On his back right, damn
near, how could we have tradedluca?
And to the lakers.
So this is all you knowsaturday night's chaos.

(01:03:33):
So I went to bed or at least Itried and we was on the phone
for like a good hour trying tolike break this down, trying to
get answers, and I mean tryingto.
You know what is this?
And I remember Shams keptsaying no, this is a thousand
percent true.
Because nobody believed it.
He was like no, this is athousand percent true.

(01:03:54):
Shams was tweeting like no,this is so true, this is really
happening, this really happened.
And I was like, nah, so I justend up going to bed and I've
been waking up and I can'tremember.
I heard some on tv.
He was like yeah, the dallasmavericks have traded luca
dachas to the los angeles lakersfor everything they was.

(01:04:15):
I said, oh, that shit reallyhappened.
That wasn't, that wasn't anightmare, that was reality.
Cause at first I was like man,we are living in an alternate
universe, an alternate reality.
That's why I thought like thisis no way, this has happened.
And I woke up the next morningand it was still Luca had been

(01:04:36):
traded.
And now I'm trying to dig andfind answers and I'm just like
sad and heartbroken and I still, right now, can't even believe
it.
Um, and as things start tounfold and things are starting
to come out, the secrecy, the, the, the, the, the, the back

(01:05:04):
alley meetings in Dallas at somecoffee shop.
From my understanding, likefrom what I've heard, this this
these trade talks have been intalks for some time now, for a
few weeks, and to the pointwhere I found out that the GM,

(01:05:33):
nico Harrison, actually reachedout first Before I called Nico
down to the congregation infront of the congregation Mills,
who won the trade in youropinion?

Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
I hate to be cliche, but I think right now, for the
now, I think the Mavericks won.
This gives you guys a chance tocompete not only this year but
the next.
And think the Mavericks won.
This gives you guys a chance tocompete not only this year but
the next and maybe even thefollowing year after that.
I think that this was more soof a long-term move for the
Lakers, given that Brian isabout to retire soon, at the age

(01:06:13):
of 40, which is crazy to say,but he's about to retire soon,
and so they were looking attheir future.
And if you offer me AnthonyDavis and Max Christie, or if I
offer you Anthony Davis and MaxChristie in a first-round pick
and you give me Luka, max Kleberand Markeith Morris and Luka's

(01:06:36):
25, again I don't have to reallysay his accolades, which is who
I'm talking about is Luca.
I don't have to say hisaccolades again.
Like I'm taking that, and so Iguess time will tell on who
really won, because if theDallas Mavericks go on and win a
championship this year or nextyear, you could say that they

(01:06:58):
won, but then, if time goes onand Luca wins maybe two or three
in LA, then you could say theywon.
So it's like, you know, I don'treally know, I think for right
now, the Mavericks won.
For right now, for right now.

Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
I can't count the Mavericks, although I am hurt
and distraught and in pain andI'm suffering On paper the
Mavericks Look tough.
It's kind of hard to debateKyrie.
This is the starting five nowKyrie, klay Thompson, pj

(01:07:40):
Washington, anthony Davis, daniel Gafford and or Derek
Lively whenever he gets back.
It's kind of hard to debatethat.
When now you got Anthony Davisplaying in his natural position,
which is a power forward and Isaw a joke they said AD
complained about having a center, so they gave him two it's

(01:08:04):
funny but I'm not laughing.
On paper, yes, the Maverickslook very scary.
They look like they're ready tocompete.
They look like they'redefinitely in a win-now mode
which.
Nico alluded to that in thepresser because he had to answer

(01:08:24):
because the city's in shambleswhen I get there.
Yeah, so right now.
Yes, like Vail said, I believethe Mavericks did win the trade
in the short term in the entry, but in the long term, yeah, the
Lakers did, because they'regetting a perennial all-star,

(01:08:47):
bona fide superstar, agenerational talent who is now
getting ready to enter his prime, and how you let that go for an
aging, injury-prone player,that is.
Hey, he's having a hell of aseason.
I can't discredit that he is,but to me it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
And does you have anything you want to say real
quick?
You say that AD is injury proneand we know his history.
Yeah, but we can also say thesame about Luca.

Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
We can.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Luca has endured, but I'll take 25 injuries yeah, but
Luca has endured his injuriestoo.
And then also, not to mentioneverything now that's been
coming out and as to why theytraded him and talking about,
like his conditioning and youknow his issues, like as far as
like diet.

Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
See, I don't care.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
Right, and I wouldn't either.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
I have said I don't care.
If Luca was close to being onmy 500-pound life, I would roll
his fat ass out of that bed andput him on that basketball court
.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
I don't give a damn how fat Luka Doncic is and what
he done to me, and I'm going tojust be real when he stepped off
that plane he didn't look toofat to me.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
He didn't look too fat to me.
Didn't look too fat to meeither.
I mean, he's late and gained alittle weight he don't look that
big, but but, but, but to youknow, and like the man is a roly
polyoli, yeah, that ain't right.
Don't sell me no, and and, and, and.

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
Not to mention he's giving you still 38 and 8.

Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
I don't give a damn how fat y'all think luca For
your point exactly, if he stillcan come out there and give you
38, 8, 39, 9, 30, 10, 10, 12.
And take you to the finals.
Luca, you can eat as many hotand ready pizzas as you want to,
it ain't stopping nothing.

(01:10:53):
Now, maybe the weight iscausing the injuries.
Him being out of shape Could beCausing the injuries.
Okay, out of shape causing theinjuries.
Okay, that is a problem, but youwork with that, alright, I
think it's about that time.
Nico, come here, right on downto the front, right there.
Thank you, sir.

(01:11:13):
What you did Saturday night wasjust despicable.
You didn't care about the fans.
You didn't even care about theplayers.
The team morale is down, yepyou.
This has nothing to do withAnthony Davis.

(01:11:35):
This has nothing to do withMatch Christy, and we are going
to welcome them.
They didn't ask to be here.
They didn't ask to be a part ofthis drama that you created.
You created this, you did this.
Nobody there's nobody calledasking for Luka.
Nobody has called asking forLuka because, from our

(01:11:56):
understanding, he wasuntradeable.
There was nothing that you cangive that you would take for him
.
Right.
So we're going to welcomeAnthony Davis.
We're going to welcome Max,chris.
We're going to welcome all ofthat.
I'm glad to have you, we ain'tgot no choice anyway, but Luka

(01:12:17):
is 25 years.
Thanks, chris, we're going towelcome all of that.
I'm glad to have you.
We ain't got no choice anyway, but Luka is 25 years old.
I don't care if he likes tochug 12 packs of beers after
every game.
I don't give a shit.
How did he produce on thatcourt?

Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
I don't give a damn if he likes to hookah on
Saturday night while eating hishot and ready pizzas on Friday
night.
What did he do on the courtthat night?
You don't, you don't?
You have set this franchiseback 10 years because he's 25.

(01:12:53):
10 years he would have been 35.
And it's not like he's somesuper athletic dude, right, he's
slow as hell.
Luka's the slowest, fastestdude I've ever seen play
basketball, mm-hmm.
So Luka could probably, youknow, give or take the injuries

(01:13:14):
and his conditioning.
He could have probably playedtomorrow, baby 37.

Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
38, maybe as a Maver, maybe as a Maverick, as a.

Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
Maverick, the lack of compassion, though you know.
Not only do you do a surprisetrade Like nobody knew, poor
Danny Ainge, poor him, he was apawn in it, he up here looking
stupid as hell.

(01:13:42):
What did he say?
He said had he known?

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
Yeah, danny Ainge did not know that he was helping
the Lakers trade for Luka.
He only had 30 minutes noticequote that LA was landing
Donchage and then by the end itwas too late whenever he tried
to do something about it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
Yeah, he didn't even know he had already agreed
because it took a.
It took a third team to makethis happen.
So I, the city is hurting, thecity is crying, the city because
you don't know the dallasmavericks nico.
You got here yesterday and I,and I don't know the Dallas
Mavericks Nico.

(01:14:20):
You got here yesterday and Idon't understand how you go like
.
For the past two years, you havebeen revered as probably one of
the greatest GMs.
Yes, that stepped into theleague.
You brought us Kyrie, youbrought us PJ and Daniel Gafford

(01:14:40):
, so I don't understand how youdid those.
From back to back years, youhave done great things.
To a matter of seconds, youbecome the dumbest GM that has
ever been in the NBA.
I don't give a damn how muchweight he didn't gain since he

(01:15:08):
was injured, unless there issomething that you know that
nobody else knows.
You don't let that go, and youdefinitely and this is what was
your love affair with the lakers.
If you was going to trade him,why not get everything you can

(01:15:30):
possible for him?
Okay, go get ad and then tellthe ladies look, I need all your
first-round unprotected picksfor the next five years.
That's what Oklahoma did.
Do you think Oklahoma just gaveup Paul George for nothing For

(01:15:51):
nothing.
And Paul George wasn't even atthe pinnacle at that time, but
he was Paul George.
He had made a name for himself.
Paul George was no top-fiveplayer at the pinnacle at that
time, but he was Paul George.
He had made a name for himself.
Paul George was no top fiveplayer at the time.
Oklahoma had so many goddamnpicks, why didn't you call them
hey.
I give you looking for shy orshade, I give you looking for

(01:16:13):
all them draft assets you got.
Make it make sense.
It made no sense.
It looks very shady that youdidn't even tell the coach.
Just can't look so stupid onthat press conference on that
Sunday.
When you're trying to address afans in the media, let's do it.
He was, he was distraught, hedidn't even know what to say.

(01:16:35):
So oh, he knows.
You know he likes whateverplayer.
I think I can tell what kind ofplayer he likes and you know I
believe defense winschampionships.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Yeah, yeah, the fact that he was speaking for him was
crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
Yeah.
I know the type of players thathe likes and I what Like no, no
, no, you don't, because when Itold you I was a dumbass?
No, I'm not.
No, we're not giving rid of him.
I don't care what Luka does, right, luka sells tickets.
So much so that Mavs fans thathave bought season tickets are

(01:17:14):
now asking for a refund.
And guess what?
The Mavericks are honoring that.
They're honoring that.
You have let a whole fan basedown Because you move so shady.
And not only did you move shady, you talk shit about him on his
way out the door, like who areyou?

(01:17:36):
Who are you?
You have become the number onevillain in the city.
And then let me tell you aboutyour punk ass.
Why'd you turn your comments offof instagram, bruh?
You gotta face this music.
You gotta face this music.
You gotta hear for the fans.
And then you wanna say, likeyou know what?
Yeah, the fans may saysomething now, but you know when

(01:17:57):
it cures that.
No, let me tell you somethingwe can win the championship this
year and we will never forgetwhat you have done to us,
because it wasn't just about thechampionships.
He was ours.
We drafted him.
He was 19 years old when hecame to us.

(01:18:18):
He was the successor of DirkNowinski, who catches lightning
in a bottle twice, twice andhonestly, Luka's better than
Dirk.
Now, dirk brought us thechampionship, so Dirk will
always be Mr Maverick, buttalent-wise Luka was better.

(01:18:45):
We wanted the Luka statue bythe Dirk statue.
You know what that was outthere by Dirk, a memorial
service for Luka.
People was bringing caskets, flowers, candles, jerseys, signs
, everything.
You know what you did.
You put your hand in everyfan's heart.

(01:19:08):
You ripped out their heart.
I mean, you put your hand inevery fan's chest.
You ripped out their heart andyou spat on it, stumped on it,
kicked it.
That's what you did.

Speaker 2 (01:19:19):
It's almost like he wanted to do it on purpose.

Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
And like you, was, yes, sickening.
And you didn't even have theaudacity to tell him.
And then they ask you have youheard from him?
No, he probably doesn't want totalk to me.
You damn fucking right, hedoesn't.
He don't want to talk to me.
You damn fucking right, hedoesn't.
He don't want to talk to you.

(01:19:41):
We don't even want to see you.
If it was up to me, if it was upto me, nico, your ass would
have been fired the same day yousent that trade through, would
have been the same day you wasgetting your walking papers.
And let me not forget aboutownership.

(01:20:01):
I really wish Mark Cuban neverhave sold that team, because
Mark Cuban would not have letthis happen At all.
But see, when you give yourfranchise to business owners,
they have no pulse in thecommunity.
Your franchise to businessowners they have no pulse in the
community.

(01:20:22):
They don't have the the, thepulse of the fans.
It's a business to them.
These are not basketball people, they're casino people, they're
the goddamn mob.
So I've heard all the theories, conspiracy theories.
I've heard all the theories, conspiracy theories.
I've heard all that.
Hey, at this point, if you wantto move the team to Vegas, move

(01:20:47):
it to Vegas.
Take the Dallas Cowboys withyou.
But you have hurt us deeply andI don't care how many
championships you think we winor if we win, nothing will fix
what you have done to us.

(01:21:08):
Like we are hurting becauseLuca was ours, luca is hurting.
I heard Luca was crying.
Luca just bought a house.
You don't do that to yoursuperstar.
And to find out that you'vebeen planning this trade for

(01:21:32):
weeks is disturbing anddisgusting.
Yeah, that's crazy.
And who would want to come to ateam that moves like that?
It's always been hard for us toland in the big fish or get
free agents to come here.
It's always been hard for us todo.
And we finally get somebodyhere that other people want to
play for and you go and youtrade him for pennies and then

(01:21:58):
tell me that winning with Kiritnot if I got a stomach watching
Luka be the second coming ofKobe You're going to make me
stomach that for the next 10years of my life.
It's sickening, not Lukasickening Luca sickening, nico

(01:22:19):
sickening and I don't promoteviolence, I don't, but you
better watch your back because alot of people out here that's
very angry and I ain't saying, but I'm saying you better be
careful walking the streets ofDallas.
It's gonna be a very long timebefore I can get over this,

(01:22:45):
because I am a die hard Mavs fanman.
I'm hurt.
I'm hurt, and watching him onthe sideline of this Laker game
is sickening.
He looks hurt, he looks sad.
He doesn't look like the Lukathat I've grown to know and love

(01:23:08):
, like you've really justdestroyed families, friendships.
Our group chat is in shambles.
Paul Vance can't say shit inthat bitch because it's a group
chat full of Madness fans andthere's some, I guess, laker

(01:23:29):
fans in there, depending on theday.
I didn't go as hard as Ithought I was going to go, maybe
because I'm maybe starting tofind some kind of peace.
I don't know, maybe so.
But I want you gone, nico.

(01:23:50):
I want you out of here.
You don't deserve to be thegeneral manager anymore, because
only a fool only a fool willmake a trade like that and you
should not have the keys to thisorganization, because what else
are you capable of?

(01:24:10):
If you're capable of doing that?
The sky's the limit with yourass.
The only hope and prayer that Ihave, the only hope and prayer
that I have, if Luka finishesout the rest of his contract
with Los Angeles and that we canget him back after the next

(01:24:31):
season.
But that's me wishful thinking, because why would he come back
to an organization that stabbedhim in the back?
But that's me wishful thinking, because why would he?
why, would he come back to anorganization that stabbed him in
the back and then talk shitabout him on the way out the
door.
But I'm just hoping that it'sthe love of the fans and the
love that the fans have for himthat he will stomach that for us

(01:24:53):
.
But, Nico, you got to go.
You have no place here inDallas anymore and I'm done.

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
Well, you said a mouthful with that one and I
mean I really don't know how tofollow that up, other than I
think that Luka coming to theLakers changes things.
This trade, this bogus tradethat Nico Harrison has just made

(01:25:31):
, may have extended LeBronJames' career, and I can't lie
and say that I'm not happy aboutthat, because I am Even
watching the game tonight.
Luka just doesn't look, helooks sad, he looks like he has
not accepted the fact that he'son a new team suddenly, like I'm

(01:25:53):
talking about, suddenly y'all.
It was sudden and you know, unfortunate for for him,
unfortunate for the Mavericksfans, unfortunate for the
organization.
Um, but yeah, that's, that's,it's it.
Hey, that trade was thatserious, y'all.
I know it got kind of seriousreal quick.
It got serious, but it's, it's,that's, that's how you know and

(01:26:16):
the Christ thing too.

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
V was like he fucked him out of some money too.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know.
Definitely, and it's like ithas to be more to this story.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
And that's what I keep saying too.
That's my only concern andworry is because it's like what
did you know that we did not?

Speaker 1 (01:26:34):
Because he wanted to say like you know, there's going
to be a lot of teams.
There's some decisions we hadto make Because there's a lot of
teams that's preparing for Lukato become a free agent.
Luka never said he was leaving.
He had every intention ofstaying.

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
I don't think Nico going to be there long.

Speaker 1 (01:26:49):
He shouldn't.
But who's going to fire him?
The execs, the owners?
They're not basketball people.
They're trying to build acasino.
They don't give a shit.
Yeah, they can do whatever theywant to do.
Implode the team, because hejust made his dumb ass trade of
the day.
I mean, I don't know much aboutCaleb Martin.
I could be totally off base, but I was fine with Quinn Grimes

(01:27:13):
.
Q-dot was cool.
He was balling Like quit, trying to make circles fit in
squares right leave us alone.
Nico, take your hands off,please.
Please, leave us alone, we'refine.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
Leave us alone, I digress well, we'll end there,
like we said.
Like we both have said, Idigress.
Yeah Well, we'll end there, like we said.
Like we both have said, likethat was a major trade and it
was very shocking.
To this day, I still can'tbelieve it happened.
But you know, honestly, I wishnothing but the best for both

(01:27:52):
sides.
I wish success to AD and Maxover with the Mavericks, and I
wish Luka, especially afterLeBron retires I hope he, you
know they build the right teamaround him to where he can
flourish and shine and also, last but not least, get him a
championship ring.

(01:28:12):
That's what I'm hoping for,luka.

Speaker 1 (01:28:16):
So yeah, that's it.
That's it All.
Right, before we get out ofhere, give me your predictions,
um, for the second half of theseason.
How you think the second halfof the season?

Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
we don't gotta do like uh, just like I think okay,
see, we remain the number oneseed in the west, um, I think
that, um, the Celtics willremain the number one seed in
the East, because that's justwhat it's looking like.
Their records right now are twoalmost dang near insatiable,
and I think the Cavs may have abetter record than the Celtics,

(01:28:49):
if I'm not mistaken.
So I think that with that trade, a lot of players will not low
manage as much because they'reworried.
Now the trade deadline isThursday, but I think that this
puts a lot of motivation under alot of people.

(01:29:09):
And then I will say this onemore thing I don't think that
the Lakers are done and I don'tthink that the Mavericks are
done as far as the tradedeadline that's coming up
Thursday, and so I mean, we'llsee.
Obviously, I've been hearing alot of KD and all of that with
the Mavericks.
I know the Lakers since we gaveaway our rim protection in AD.

(01:29:30):
We definitely need a defensivepresence in the paint, so now
they have to find a big that can, um, not only be a defensive
presence in the paint, but alsobe a lob threat, um, which Luca
likes to play with and whichBrian also likes to play with.
So, yeah, I think those are mylast words, um, you know,

(01:29:52):
obviously, moving forward, we'llsee who won the trade for real,
and yeah, that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:29:59):
Yep, as far as how I think the second half of the
season goes, I think I secondwith you.
Okc will probably end up beingthe number one seed.
I think Cleveland will probablyend up being the number one
seed.
They've been having a hell of ayear and I think that the

(01:30:23):
Mavericks even though I'm notpissed off at the team, I'm just
pissed off at the organizationI feel like we'll probably
either A be a play-in team orright there at the sixth,
seventh spot, and we'll justhave to see what goes on after
that.
Yep.

(01:30:43):
All right, all right, y'all, let's get out of here.
I'm sad.
Now it's been real.

Speaker 2 (01:30:50):
It's the one and only Lise, and it's your girl, vels,
aka Velly Vell, if that's whatyou want to call me, and
together we are.
Locked In.

Speaker 1 (01:30:57):
Sports Peace.
I like sports, and that's ityou.
