RAYS POSTCAST: Tampa Bay Rays MISTAKES COST THEM BIG TIME vs the St. Louis Cardinals

The Tampa Bay Rays could not get out of their own way tonight, losing to the St. Louis Cardinals 7-4. This was one of the sloppiest games of the season for the Rays. The Rays finished with 3 errors, a passed ball that led to a run, and a base running mistake that took away a run. The Rays offense provided pressure all night. But Joe Boyle the Rays starter could only go 4 IP giving up 9 hits and 6 runs 4 earned. Yandy Diaz would hit a 2 run homer in the 3rd inning to make it 5-3. But more mistakes led to the Cardinals getting a run in the 4th to make it 6-3. The Rays offense had numerous chances to get the game closer but could never get the big hit. When the Rays did get a big hit to make the game 6-4 the run was called off because of a base running error. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow night.
