story time. Might you love atleast one time story Welcome
back to the show. This is yellow Well story Time.
As you may have gathered from the song. Today's story
is called good Hand Bad Hand, which I'm dedicating to
(00:22):
anyone who has ever pinched someone and then tried to
blame it entirely on their hand. This episode features characters
named after Roush, as well as Monica and Jasper Rolison.
Some additional shots this week go out to Reuben from Victoria, BC.

from Sydney, Australia, Johnny and Jewell from Salt Lake City, Utah,

New York, Adler and hold Her from Springfield, Illinois, and
mac Della Aspen and Ron from North Carolina. Also good
luck to Aspen at College. More shots to come next time,
(01:07):
but for now, let's get into the story. This is
the story of hands. Yep, you heard that right, an
entire story all about hands. The hands I'm talking about
belong to a girl named Monica, and get this, she
(01:29):
had two of them. I'm not even kidding. But what
made Monica's hands really stand out was that apparently she
was really good with them. That's right. People were always saying, Monica,
you are just so good with your hands, and she was.
Her hands were capable of painting even the most minute details.
She once painted a portrait of her father so vividly
(01:51):
you could see his nose hairs. But her hands weren't
just good for doing art. Monica could practically build or
fix anything. One time she fixed the leaky roof on
an orphanage. Another time, she helped build a special school
for kids who don't like school. It was a bit
of a strange school, but so what she built it.
How many kids can say they've built a strange school before.
(02:12):
Now you might think that sort of thing would be
a big deal, but barely anyone even knew she had
helped fix an orphanage. Instead, people seemed more impressed by
some of the smaller things. Monica, Oh my gosh, you've
got to show my friend Carol, How you write your name? Carol?
Come here, You've got to see this. My daughter is
so good with her hands. Just look at how beautifully
(02:34):
she writes her name. Come see, Come see. Monica could
build an entire building with her bare hands, but people
were more interested in watching her play Jenga. You know
the game with the wooden blocks where you take one
from the middle and you place it on top. Yeah,
they all got worked out watching her play that game.
But nothing was more embarrassing for Monica than when people
(02:55):
gathered to watch her tie her shoelaces. Wah did that
just happen? You guys? See that little girl tired shoelaces.
That was the smoothest shoelace tying performance I think I've
ever seen. Yep, Monica was pretty good with her hands,
or so she believed. And tell her brother introduced her
to a boy named Arushe Monica, I just watched a
(03:16):
video of a kid who's got hands just like you.
Monica's younger brother, Jasper, didn't care much for his sister's hands.
They didn't seem so special to him, or maybe he
was just jealous. No one noticed his amazing elbows. Jasper
would often say things like anyone can have great hands,
but how many people can itch their bellies with their
elbow while sipping from a juice box. Huh, that's pure
(03:37):
talent right there. Jasper kept hoping to find someone with
better hands than Monica so he could finally prove she
wasn't so special. This a roush guy has really good hands.
You're gonna be all like, well, guess my hands were
never that great after all. Monica told her brother to
go dip his elbows in hot lava. Listen, sis I
messaged the guy after watching some of his videos, and
(04:00):
he wants to challenge you to a hand battle. It's
got to be on camera, though, so his followers can watch.
You can't just leave all those subscribers hanging. Monica never
been one to take her hands too seriously, and she
certainly wasn't what you'd call a show off, but her
brother was really getting under her skin, and that made
it hard not to accept. When she finally met a
roushe for what she thought was a silly waste of time.
(04:22):
There was a lot of waiting around before the hand
battle could begin. A Rouche wouldn't stop fixing his hair
for the camera, but when he was finished, his hair
looked pretty amazing, probably because he was really good with
his hands. Welcome back to my channel, everyone, it's your
boy a Rush and I'm joined today by Monica, who,
like yours, truly is really good with her hands. But
(04:42):
just how good is she? That's what we're about to
find out. Monica, why don't you show us what you've got?
Realizing she was being recorded by a video camera, Monica
tensed up. Oh hello, people watching, So I'm going to
show you how I can make a very complex beaded
friendship bracelet in under five minutes. Monica had once raised
(05:03):
a friend to make this exact same bracelet. She did
it in four and a half minutes, while her friend
finished after two and a half days. Under the pressure
of having a camera pointed directly at her, Monica fumbled
with the bracelet and dropped a number of tiny beads
on the ground. A Roushe made a big reaction. Oh,
I'm not so sure about these hands. Her brother chuckled
(05:24):
from the sidelines, rubbing his elbows like they were made
of gold. Monica ignored him, refocused, and then finished the
bracelet in under five minutes. A roush went next. He
was fast, but not quite as fast as Monica. Back
and forth they went, each trying to outdo the other,
until a Rouche pulled off something Monica had never seen before.
(05:44):
On a huge sheet of paper, a rushe wrote, subscribe
to a Roushe. The letters were perfect, too perfect. But
what amazed Monica wasn't the message. It was that he
wrote it by swapping the pen between his left and
right hands, not caring about subscribers. Monica wrote a differ message,
which read, I like forts. Perhaps a strange thing to write,
(06:05):
but having a camera pointed at her made it hard
to think. Besides, her hands allowed her to build forts
most kids can only dream of building. Monica's writing looked
perfect as well, like it had been printed from a computer.
Ah ah ah, said Rouche. That wasn't the challenge. You
were supposed to alternate between your left and right hand.
This seemed mind boggling to Monica. She was a right
(06:27):
handed writer. Why would she ever use her left hand?
She knew it wasn't going to look pretty, but she
never expected it to turn out as badly as it did.
The letters written using her right hand looked impeccable well,
the ones written with her left hand looked like they
were written by a two year old jacked up on jellybeans.
Worst of all, her O looked more like an A,
(06:47):
which meant the phrase I like forts looked more like
I like farts. Jasper was laughing so hard he had
tears streaming down his face. Monica's face, however, was beat red. Well,
there you have it, folks, had a roosh to the camera.
She isn't good with her hands. She's only good with
one hand. What a waste of time this was. As
(07:07):
soon as the camera was off, a roosh turned friendly.
That's gonna be an awesome video, guys, My fans are
gonna love it. And really great job, Monica, you were
very talented. But seriously, what's up with that left hand
of yours? Walking home, Monica couldn't stop thinking about a roush.
He was right, she only had one good hand. Her
(07:27):
right hand did all the work, while her left hand
just held things in place or sat there looking pretty
at supper. Jasper picked up his plate, carrying it between
his elbows to the sink. Monica thought he looked ridiculous,
but Jasper smiled, I could never have pulled this off
without my two highly skilled elbows. Without saying a word.
Monica picked up her plate using only her left hand
(07:49):
and then cleared the table In bed. That night, Monica
lay there wishing her left hand could be more than
just a hand for carrying stuff. Why couldn't she be
good with both of her hands? Like all night, Monica
had strange dreams. In one, the left side of her
body had frozen completely. She woke up to find she'd
been lying on her arm awkwardly and it had actually
(08:11):
fallen asleep, leaving her hand numb. Oh no, you don't,
left hand. I need you to do better, not worse.
It's time to really wake up. Normally, when her arm
fell asleep like this, Monica just waited a minute for
the blood to flow back. But this time she didn't
just want her arm to feel unfrozen. She wanted to
light a little fire under it to remind lefty that
(08:32):
the right hand had been kicking it's butt. Come on, you,
lazy hand. Monica threw her left hand at a bedpost
as hard as she could. It made a loud thunk,
but she felt nothing. Then she placed it on the
floor and dropped a pile of her heaviest books on it. Next,
she sneaked down to the basement in the dark, grabbed
a hammer and started bopping her hand. Finally, she could
(08:53):
feel something all right, hand. This is your wake up
call tomorrow. I need you to do better, got it.
Monica slept like a log for the rest of the night.
In the morning, she was eager to see if her
left hand had truly woken up. She sat at the
desk next to her bed and took it a piece
of paper in a marker. Placing the marker in her
left hand, she attempted to write her name. Her hand
(09:15):
felt less shaky, and the lions looked a little smoother
than the time before, but that made it all the
more confusing as to why her name looked nothing like
her name. It looked like two random words stuck together meatball, banana.
That's not even close to my name. She tried again.
This time, her name looked like the word snickerdoodle. But
the word doesn't even have the letter M. How did
(09:38):
I get my own name so wrong? Monica decided that
perhaps she needed to eat some breakfast first. Her brother,
Jasper was already sitting at the kitchen table polishing his elbows.
Do my elbows look any shinier today. Sis, I'm planning
on taking some new photos after I eat. Monica didn't
bother to answer. Instead, she grabbed his plate and moved
(09:58):
it to where she was sitting. Ah, what are you doing,
cried Jasper, that's my breakfast. Monica quickly moved the plate back.
Oh sorry, I wasn't actually trying to do that, though
I know it probably looks like I was. Jasper gave
Monica a weird look. Monica gave her left hand a
weird look. She then washed as her hand moved toward
(10:19):
the bowl of blueberries in the middle of the table.
The next thing she knew, she was throwing blueberries at
her brother. Jasper was yelling at Monica to stop. Their
mother ran into the room and was yelling at Monica
to stop. Even Monica was yelling at Monica to stop,
which eventually she did. Guys, I am so sorry, but
that wasn't me. It was my hand, Her mother furrowed
(10:41):
her brow. Of course, it was your hand, and you
can thank your hand for getting you sent to your room.
Not wanting to cause any more trouble, Monica did as
she was told. Back in her room, she had plenty
of time to think about what had happened and why
she found her brother annoying sometimes, but that had never
made her want to steal his breakfast or throw blueberries
(11:03):
at him. And yet it felt like her left hand
had done exactly those things all on its own. Later
that day, when her teacher told the class to write
ten sentences about someone they looked up to, her left
hand didn't wait for permission. It grabbed a pencil from
her right hand and got straight to work. After class,
her teacher pulled her aside. So, remember when I asked
(11:24):
you to write about someone you look up to. Well,
what I meant by that was someone you admire, like
a personal hero. Your paper was just ten sentences about
a made up guy that lives in a toilet. Monica
wished she could be any place else. I know, miss,
I am so sorry, but you have to believe me.
It wasn't me. It was my hand. Her teacher nodded
(11:47):
her head slowly. Ah, Yes, I know, it was your hand.
That's why I'm talking to you about it. You wrote
some weird stuff with your hand, and now I need
you to redo the assignment for homework. Monica had never
been in trouble for writing weird stuff. Normally, her teacher
only pulled her aside to tell her how beautiful her
handwriting looked. When the school bell rang, Monica ran to
(12:09):
catch up with her brother, Jasper. I need your help.
Something weird is going on with my left hand. Jasper yelped. Oh,
tell me about it. Your left hand just spanked me.
Monica apologized on behalf of her uncontrollable left hand. It's
like I've got one good hand and one evil hand,
(12:30):
and the evil hand keeps getting worse and worse. As
she was saying that, her left hand gave some random
stranger the thumbs down. Oh that was rude. She tried
holding her hand in place for the rest of the
walk home, but her left hand was Squaremy come on, Monica,
let's get you home. I know exactly what we need
to do. Jasper may have known what his sister needed
(12:52):
to do, but that didn't mean she was going to
like it. This is your solution. Monica's left arm and
hand were now duct taped the sight of her body.
Jasper smiled, I'd like to see her evil hand try
to do anything naughty. Now. It was true her left
hand wasn't going anywhere, but how long, am I supposed
to stay like this? I can't just not have a
(13:14):
left hand anymore. Jasper no doubt had a solution for
that too. He let her know she could eventually have
a surgical procedure to have her arm replaced with the
arm of an octopus. That would be so cool, Monica.
You know I've always said I'd like you a lot
more if you were part octopus. Monica decided to see
how well she could live with her arm taped to
(13:35):
her side. Turns out not much longer than a couple
of days. The tape helps keep her out of trouble,
but it was still awkward having to explain why one
half of her looked like a mummy, and of course
you can't exactly tell people that one of your hands
has turned evil. On top of that, the tape was
making her skin itchy and well, there was a bit
of a stinky smell developing too. The moment her left
(13:58):
hand was released from the tape, it tried to scratch
her right hand. Luckily, Jasper was there with his two
elbows to break the fight up. Well, if tape isn't
gonna work, began Jasper, and you aren't ready for octopus
arm surgery. Then I know just who to call. A
little while later, they had a visitor at their house. Yo, Yo,
(14:18):
welcome back, it's your boy. A rouche. Monica looked like
someone had used a vacuum cleaner to suck out every
ounce of her energy. Ah, not this guy again, And
why are you saying welcome back? We aren't making a
video here. A Rush looked disappointed. Ah, too bad, So
why'd you call me over? Then? Jasper told her Rush
(14:38):
about his sister's hands, the good hand and the bad hand. Interesting,
and you say she smacked it, dropped books on it,
and bashed it with a hammer. Monica interjected with a suggestion,
do you think I should try hitting it a little harder?
A Rouche frantically waved his hands in the air. No, no, no, no,
please do not do that. Sounds like you've already woken
(15:01):
the beast, which is good, and it's already showing some talent.
You told me you threw a green pea across a
cafeteria and it landed perfectly in the principal's coffee mug.
I'm impressed. Monica wasn't surprised that a rouche would be impressed.
With that. This isn't something I'm proud of. My hand
keeps doing naughty stuff. Why can't it be good like
my other hand? A Rouche calmly nodded to show he understood. Well,
(15:25):
the problem is that your hand just woke up. It's
basically new, like when you get a new puppy, and
all it wants to do is pee on your rug,
even though you really don't want it to pee on
your rug. It just doesn't know right from wrong yet.
Jasper looked confused. So my sister's hand is about to
start peeing on rugs, A Rush shook his head. No,
it just needs a little training so that I can
(15:46):
learn how to do the right thing. A Rouche put
Monica through a series of exercises. She used her right
hand to demonstrate while a Rush and Jasper firmly held
down her left, forcing it to watch. It was like
our right hand. It was teaching her left hand what
to do. Before long, instead of hurling potatoes at Jasper,
her left hand calmly passed them over right after juggling
(16:07):
them in the air without dropping one. And instead of
scribbling words like diaper rash when trying to write her name,
it finally spelled Monica correctly. It even made it look
like it had come straight out of her printer. This
is amazing, Thank you, arouche. I feel like my little
puppy knows how to pee outside now. Then Monica said
something that surprised even herself. I think we should make
(16:30):
another video now that I'm truly good with my hands.
Who knows what I might be capable of. Maybe I'll
be able to perform surgery. Anyone need a new octopus?
Arm Rush admitted that there was another reason why he
had come over. Well, I was hoping to shoot another
video while I was here, but not with you, and
not actually with myself either. My fans have been bugging
(16:53):
me NonStop, asking for a video with the kid they
saw in the background or the first video we made together.
They want to see the kid who was really good
with his elbows. Just then, Jasper sprung forward. All right,
your audience must have seen me showing off my skills,
So what do you think I should show them first?
I still haven't figured out how to use them to
(17:13):
tie my shoes or hold a fork a knife. But
get this, I can use my elbows to scratch an
itch on the side. Of my body while I eat
a burrito. It's crazy. I know the end. That's the
story and I hope you enjoyed it. Question of the
(17:34):
week what is something you were proud of that you
can do with your hands. Well, that's a wrap on
this episode. Subscribe to a Roosh and I'll catch you
on the next one.
