Tyler (00:00):
Welcome
Danny (00:07):
to the Lost Boy Scouts
podcast. Here we are. Special
LBS General Hospital edition.
Tyler (00:14):
Yeah.
Danny (00:14):
Two year anniversary. Two
year anniversary today. So
today, I woke up this morningand I crossed my feet and said,
would you like to add to this? And it had a picture of Lost.
Tyler (00:26):
Oh, cool. I was like,
what the heck does that look
like? And then I was like, Iwonder if
Danny (00:29):
it's an anniversary
Tyler (00:30):
because I remember doing
it around Yeah. March, February.
I thought it was February Yeah.Originally. And so I looked at
our podcast, it was like March17, and I was like, Dang.
Yeah. And I was like, so Itexted you, and I was like, Man,
has it really been two years? And you're like, It's felt
(00:51):
longer, you know? Because ithas, it has felt like.
Danny (00:55):
It's been, and what a
journey it's been. Okay,
Tyler (00:59):
so let's give some
context. So, we're here, we are
in LDS hospital.
Danny (01:04):
We're in LDS General
Hospital, yeah. We're in the the
leukemia and blood borne, patents you award. Those of you
who have kind of followed alongwith the substack, you probably
have some context if you're justwatching the podcast. I received
a kind of an urgent diagnosis, thanks to some jujitsu. We'll
(01:28):
just go ahead and should I givethe whole backstory?
Should I send people in thesubstack? Or what do think makes
the most sense here in thatcontext of our conversation? So
the the there were
Tyler (01:36):
some things going on.
Yeah. Just a little bit of
backstory. There were somethings going on. I'm actually
no.
I've been I noticed a couple oftimes where you're like, yeah,
I'm just nauseous, Danny. Don't,you know, came to your house and
we're gonna have a beer. Yeah.And you were like, I just, I
feel nauseous, like, I'm noteating good. I'm like, okay, is
(01:57):
emotions?
Is it like, just things that aregoing on that you're just in the
moment? Is it is it what what isit, you know? Yeah. And and you
were like, just I feel nauseous. And so leading up to Saturday, I
remember having thoseconversations with you.
Yeah. And, you know, you gothrough those moments of the the
day to day life and and rememberto see, like, you know, because
(02:20):
I locked off back of like, did Imiss something? Right. Well,
there are things that I wasmissing with, with what was
going on. We would train andyou'd be like, man, I'm a little
out of breath today.
Yeah. A little out of breathtoday. Yeah. And so, then, like
in Substack, you know, you yougave the the story, if you
wanted like the whole the wholebackstory of everything that's
going on, I think that that's agood good place to go. Good
(02:42):
place, just go to Substack andsee that.
But what we noticed, what Inoticed, and Tyler was bruising
Yeah.
Danny (02:49):
On Saturday. Saturday
Saturday was the opening of
Tippany Timpanogos Jiu JitsuClub. Yeah. Wanted to really get
out and support Anthony, andit's just it's an amazing gym.
It's gonna be such an awesomeplace for people to come learn
learn the sport and I reallywanted to support and, I knew I
wasn't feeling 100% like I againthat fatigue had had really kind
(03:10):
of taken over at that point butit was the bruising after that
that should have been probablythe first red flag.
I can go back and I can say yesand you'll notice if you go back
and listen to Substack.Substack, know, that I do
mention Monday I noticedbruising and bleeding as well
but it was a little lessconcerning because of other just
(03:31):
other other things going onother factors that I was maybe
praying God a little bit on myown part just saying.
Tyler (03:37):
But as we go on, while
we're in the hospital we we may
have people coming in that wemay need to turn this off and
they'll just come back on. Well,we'll just
Danny (03:45):
roll through it. All my
care facility here at LBS is
incredible. They have asked forsome privacy. They don't want
their faces or their badgestypically scanned. If I'm
referencing my doctor or my careteam, will probably just say
like Doctor.
M or Doctor. B. One of thereasons I was brought to this
(04:06):
particular hospital is besideshere in Huntsman, they are the
best at this particular form ofLeukemia. It is, from what I
understand, it is a geneticmutation but is not a genetic
pass down of Leukemia. They werepretty good in catching it in
the blood work in Eber but theyvery quickly realised that they
(04:28):
didn't have the staff or theskill to treat the blood.
So they set the blood test downhere which prompted me to get
down here as soon as possible inkind of an emergent situation.
Tyler (04:40):
Yeah, Tuesday I was at
work and you know you had called
a couple times, I was like whatthe heck? Because you never
really called a couple times, remember I was like hey. Is this
should I call you back? You'relike, yeah. Yeah.
You probably need call me back.Yeah. And it I when when I first
got down the other day, waslike, I wonder why LDS as
(05:01):
opposed to Huntsman. Yeah. Butit makes sense that you were at
an Intermountain event.
Yep. And as long as they can doeverything here, and like you
said, that the doctors argue, weknow what this is, we are going
to be able to find I was heretoday when the doctor came in
and gave us really, really, really positive news. Like he
was super positive. He was like, man, we are doing what we're,
(05:23):
this is doing what it's supposedto be doing. Your levels are
doing what they're, they'renormalizing.
And he's like, you know, adjusting some of your schedule
of how you get things so you cansleep a little bit better. Yeah.
So you can receive your medicinejust in a more consistent
because right now everything isokay on the kidneys, right?
Yeah. But before we go on, Igotta ask you, is it okay for
(05:44):
lights blinking on these thingsor should it be positive?
It should be solid. Yours isblinking.
Danny (05:50):
I think we're good
because we're picking on up
there so let's just roll with itand we're gonna get the audio we
get and I think we'll be goodbetween the three so
Tyler (05:57):
busy with the nervous. So
then so so yeah we're we're when
he came in today, was likeawesome news, know. Yeah. And it
is part of what he said is thisis what the foreseeable weeks
will look like. Of just beinghere in this room and it's, you
know, you come into a hospitaland I have these expectations of
(06:21):
seeing she like attached toeverything and seeing my best
buddy, like just not how Inormally would see, right?
I had some anxiety the day whenI was talking to Preston and my
family. But when I got here, waslike, it's actually not what I
thought. It's hospital feel forsure. Yeah. But you're in a
(06:42):
different ward where, like, it'spretty quiet over here because
of the severity of some of thethings that go on here.
Danny (06:50):
I have a very, very
unique form of leukemia, and I'm
gonna pronounce it wrongprobably every day until I until
it's gone. Acute promoelectricleukemia. Promoelectric
leukaemia. So it's still likeAPL. APL.
We'll just call it APL. It israre and aggressive but it's
also one of the ones that theylike they know how to treat. It
(07:13):
has a ninety to ninety fivepercent early catch cure rate.
They feel like they caught itpretty quick. I was still on the
high risk of things but the wayI'm responding to treatment so
far and the fact that I was ableto get into treatment and
admitted so quickly that we'veseen a lot of positives.
But there's other people in thisward that have different forms
(07:36):
and really what essentiallyleukaemia does is it shuts off
your immune system. So it's, youknow, my first risk was I was a
bleed out and or blood clot riskthat they had to treat that
before they can get into theleukemia side of things. But
then while they're doing that, you have to realize that, you
know, you could get an infectionor you could get some weird, you
(07:59):
know, bug and that couldactually be what trips things up
and makes you worse rather thanthe actual leukemia itself.
Tyler (08:08):
Yeah, because your immune
system is so compromised. Well,
and so going back to like thatSaturday when we noticed the
bruises, that's the thing thatyou notice today. Yes. Is the
doctor came in and he wanted tomake sure there were no new
bruises. Yeah.
And if the bruises hadn't gotsevere. Yeah. In my mind, I'm
like, really? These things aresevere. They are all over
(08:31):
Tyler's body.
Yeah. They are they are verybig. They are very black.
They're very purple. They arevery pronounced that there's
some serious bruising.
Yeah. Especially like on yourthighs and in
Danny (08:43):
your stomach.
Tyler (08:43):
Yeah. Where the first one
that we noticed, yeah, look
Danny (08:46):
at the size If you can
see past my PICC line here,
obviously there's some traumafrom the PICC line where they
give the drugs, but they alsowas an IV, but like, this is
because my blood isn't isn'tclotting. And this is a good
example of what's, you know, probably 50% of my body Yeah.
Agreed. On my stomach. And andthey weren't they weren't that
big after rolling, but they werelike color.
(09:08):
The color was really what and ifyou look at this this the d day
plus two substack pictures, havekind of your typical jujitsu
pinch. You know, it gets blackand blue, gets ugly from
whatever somebody grab in, Andthen you have the covers of that
is like this actual type ofhematoma that it should have
been an indication to go to thedoctor right away.
Tyler (09:29):
Yeah. And that's one of
those things like what we'll
cover like eventually later onin the real day of just like
that when to listen to your bodyand when to like really like go.
Yeah. Because I think going backto what we've talked about
before, just as men that we'renot, we're not built to like go
to the doctor every day. Youknow, you get bumps and bruises,
(09:53):
you get your nuts start to hear, you know, your blood starts to
hurt, you know, I ain't goingover there.
Yeah. Come up. And that doctortouched my Yeah. Touched my
nether regions. I remember onetime, I had to go to the
doctors.
So I go to because I've gotten avasectomy, the little cord, the
little clip kind of gets alittle irritated. I've never had
(10:15):
a serious thing, I've had someproblems where like my balls
hurt. Yeah, yeah. Like reallybad. And I'm like, man, is going
be a shutdown.
And like, you go to the bathroomevery five seconds and you're
like, what the world is goingon? And you look up, you know,
there's there's you can get aninfection on the backside of
your Mhmm. On the backside ofthat the vasectomy cut. Right?
Then I go to Park City rightbefore Jiu Jitsu because it was
(10:38):
hurting pretty bad.
And I go to the IntermountainMedical in Park City. But
anyways, I had to go get acheck. Right? And and at first,
he's checking me just doing theregular hernia check. Oh, yeah.
Turn good. Then he says, k. I amgoing to have to stick my finger
(10:58):
up there. And I'm telling you,Tyler, I looked at his hands,
and I said, you're not stickingthose things. No way.
Look at the size of your hands.Yeah. And he was he's like,
what? I was like, look at thesize of your fingers, dude. You
are not doing that to me.
And it was like it was so funny.
Danny (11:16):
Was it going in the front
or in the back? In the back. In
the back.
Tyler (11:19):
Okay. Oh, yeah. And he's
like, well, we gotta check to
make sure it's not somethingmore serious like, you know,
like, prostate or anything.Yeah. Like, look, dude.
Can you find somebody with, like, smaller fingers? Yeah.
Somebody that needs smallerfingers. He thought that was the
funniest thing. He thought itwas funny, so he's laughing.
(11:40):
And I'm like, bro, I am notlaughing. Like Yeah. That is not
fun for me. Anyways, it it it itturned out okay. It's, like,
really fast when I can see Yeah.
Yeah. They check you reallyquick. And, you know, I tell
that story a lot of like, thinking like, that is how
sometimes you get with doingcheckups. Yeah. Because some
(12:01):
things you're just like, oh man,I can't up down there today,
shouldn't you?
And I've had that,
Danny (12:07):
the experience here is
very vulnerable, right? And I've
been blessed to be around somevery compassionate caregivers
who are very good at what
Tyler (12:15):
they do
Danny (12:16):
and even still, they're
all fairly lovely ladies that,
you know, I love to leave asample for, and they want to,
you know, check your poop andcheck your pee and, you know,
follow them prompt them. But Ithink as men, we have a hard
time just being vulnerable withthat kind of stuff. But I think
we're we're not vulnerable withour emotions. We're definitely
not vulnerable with, like, ourthose type of those type of
(12:38):
things.
Tyler (12:39):
We we go back to how you
always say, like, you know,
you're driving around with yourdad, and dad's not asking for
directions, right? He's justtrying to figure out how to get
there. No, I got this, but ifyou would've just stopped and
got directions, it's the samething, like, when you have
ailments, right? Right. You'relike, no, I think I could self
diagnose this.
Danny (12:57):
It's a cold. Right? We
would be the vices farm with our
prostate cancer research. Menwere more honest about what
they're going Yeah.
Tyler (13:07):
No, it doesn't matter. So
I think, like, the idea is to
just always be aware of what'sgoing on. Right? Aware
Danny (13:20):
of Yeah.
Tyler (13:21):
Aware of your body. The
like I said, the bruising the
bruising the bruising when Danwhen Danielle seen it, she was
like, that's Yeah. That is youneed to get in, Tyler. I think
that I think that at leasttriggered you to keep an eye on
things.
Danny (13:35):
It was. And and to be
honest, then there was the the
bloody nose on Tuesday. I IMonday was obviously still
fairly fatigued. Why bloodynose? Because when when Preston
sent me like,
Tyler (13:49):
so Preston and I did the
whole we're WebMD people. Yeah.
I'm gonna go Google this. Yeah. But it says the bloody nose is
like, that's a blood, like,because because your blood's not
clotting.
Is that
Danny (14:01):
what you're Yeah. For me,
it was because the my my blood
wasn't clotting. But, you know,we lived in a pretty arid
climate. Right? So bloody nosesfor me are not not uncommon, but
it was the fact that it wouldn'tstop.
Like, all day was just kind of athick ooze. It wouldn't would it
would mean crust up for a littlebit, but then, like, never I
mean, it bled I got into thehospital Tuesday. I got here
(14:22):
about 6PM, and it had beenbleeding all day, and it still
bled for the next two days whilethey're they're treating the
blood to kind of clean up someof those those levels to get it
to coagulate and that kind ofstuff. So but it was luckily
there was a a coworker remindingme that that was like, you gotta
go or I'm calling the ambulanceand
Tyler (14:42):
Oh, really? Yeah. You're
going. Wow.
Danny (14:45):
Because I probably who
knows? I probably would've gone
home, know, because we'refixers. We stick a piece of
toilet paper up in there andIt's happened before? Yeah. Make
dinner and, you know Move
Tyler (14:53):
on about your life. Mhmm.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Danny (14:55):
Because some of things I
was trying, like, they act they
legitimately were were helping.Right? Somebody said, well,
maybe you're anemic. You need asteak. Maybe you're we need a
nine pill on this.
Those things were helping, but,it wasn't until I got here and
you see somebody like doctor mwho has seen these type of
things all the time. Her justshe just lights up and she's
like, let's go. This is whatwe're doing. Like, we're not
(15:16):
even waiting. I was so amazedbecause the transfer of
information from Intermountainin Heber to Intermountain down
here in Salt Lake.
It it felt very seamless eventhough it wasn't very I wasn't
in the loop. The doctors were insuch a loop that that she knew
exactly what the course of ofaction was going to be.
Tyler (15:36):
Did they know did they
know that you were on your
Danny (15:39):
way down? They did they
Tyler (15:40):
get heads up that they're
like, hey, this person is coming
here, and this is what we think.Yeah. This is what's presenting,
and then they're ready for you. They've got the red carpet out,
and it's the lights on and it'slike, let's go.
Danny (15:54):
I wouldn't say that it
was like a red carpet, but it
was definitely they gave me aroom they had a room number that
I was supposed to they said goto EE East Floor, Eighth Floor
East Building, 8 16, go check-inwith the nurses' station. And I
walk in and I was like, oh,Tyler's here. And it was like,
yes, everything kind of kickedoff.
Tyler (16:14):
Our our our medical
sometimes you get they get bad
raps, right? And then you havean experience like that and
you're like, nope.
Danny (16:24):
And they ask it. It was
and it was a pretty it was very
positive from from the kickoff.Like, the the transfer of
information, the way the nursescare, way that they present
treatment, the way they workwith you, way it's not like it's
scary, right? I've never been inthis type of situation before,
(16:48):
but like nurses that are here, are very sober and
compassionate. You know, they'reaware of the situation.
They don't they they're not justworking on it with me, but
they've years of experience inin this kind of compassionate
care, and and they're they'readjusting things on the fly and,
you know, they listen. And Ithink that's the part of the
(17:10):
vulnerability we've just got tobe okay with. I think I told the
first three nurses I had one tobathroom for it. Four weeks, you
won't see me poop. Weeks, promise it.
Most people don't want to. Yeah, yeah. Alright. Thanks. You're
(17:31):
welcome.
Tyler (17:32):
Thank you.
Danny (17:32):
Appreciate you. Anything
else? Nope. We're good. See you
guys.
See you. Yeah.
Tyler (17:37):
So the the it it is hard.
It is hard to to adjust, like,
just this just this last fiveminutes of this. Come in and do
this while you and I aretalking. Yeah. There's no, she
doesn't even waver.
Yep. You know, and we're luckyto be around a lot of first
(17:58):
responders, lot of military, alot of medical background people
in our in Jiu Jitsu, just in ourlittle community. And they have
the same kind of like, caregiving, like, feeling about
them. Yeah. Like Doctor.
Doug and that people. Yeah.Jesse. Yeah. You All the
military guys that we trainwith, they're like genuine
people, right?
(18:19):
And so, I think for all intentsand purposes, could you have
went sooner? Of course. Sure.Could we could we have could we
say that? Yes.
But does it change the outcome? No. Doesn't change that. Does it
change anything? Maybe you wouldhave been here a couple days
prior.
You know? But it doesn't changeanything. Maybe in that moment,
(18:41):
you know, there was somethingelse that came up that God had a
different plan for that day.Right. Right?
And so, now that you are here,we got the doctor that came in,
I think we just talked aboutthis, that he gave such
positive, positive feedbackabout what's going to happen in
the next little while. Andreality of it is, is that this
(19:01):
is just a small moment. Yeah. And a big picture, right? It's
just a small moment of yourlife.
And while we make adjustmentsand I don't get to see it every
day, can't see it every day, cancome here and hang out and the
kids are with great. Yeah. They're with they're with their
(19:23):
mother who loves them verydearly. Yeah. And your mom's
here who's we need
Danny (19:26):
that number. She's she's
amazing. Yeah. My parents are
close by and I mean, it'samazing this kind of like, you
don't want to throw clout onthis for the sake of the
podcast. This isn't how I wannaadvertise, but, like, there
there are people that care.
I've woken up to hundreds ofmessages of people checking in
on you. You know, I am going tobe in the hospital for the next,
(19:48):
you know, thirty days. Right.Right. If we if we go back to
Tuesday, right, Tuesday eveningwill be a full week this coming
Tuesday, it's now Sunday.
You know barring some some sortof additional miracle or
something like that, right, Iwill be here and and so my worry
(20:09):
is will that trickle off in theend, I don't think it will, but
like it's cool to see how manypeople just kinda come out of
the woodwork that are rootingfor you. But take care of
yourself, man. Like, I I couldsee there was a definite path on
Tuesday where I could have said,no. I'll just sleep. I'll go
back to sleep and who knows?
(20:30):
You know? I could have bled outand were at a blood clot in my
sleep with my kids sitting thereor something really terrible
could have happened if I had notlistened
Tyler (20:40):
to people that knew more
than me. Yeah. Intuition and
just being like, know what? I'mgonna go get this. Yeah.
Because that whole post waspretty ominous. I got a couple
phone calls and really Yeah. That everything okay with Tyler?
Because that post was honest.
Danny (20:56):
It was like, first, I'm
like, this is just being funny.
I I didn't realize, like It
Tyler (21:00):
was very honest at the
very end.
Danny (21:02):
At the very end, when I
was like, well, that shit
escalated quickly, I didn'treally know how to handle it
from there because I'm I wasthrown in it. Like, it went from
literally, I'm showing mywristband. I'm at the urgent
care thinking he's just gonna, you know, powder my nose or
whatever a little bit and tellme to to man up or throw some
sawdust on. Yeah.
Tyler (21:20):
Now you're fine. Yeah.
No. But you just think of cotton
Yeah. All up your nose.
Yeah.
Danny (21:26):
Yeah. It we had literally
went from, you know, zero to 120
in in two hours, and so therewasn't he was trying to figure
out, and then once you're in themiddle of the treatment, you're
like there wasn't like a, like,put up a a post, right?
Tyler (21:42):
I had to figure out,
Danny (21:43):
like, okay, how do I how
do I disseminate this
disseminate this information? SoI'm getting good accurate
information, but I'm, you know,I'm not I'm not just trying
Tyler (21:53):
to chase clout. And
you're not like, you also don't
believe like people hangingeither like Yeah. It's really
hard to be to to to have put Imean, of course, like the the
fur like you said, the firstpost of like, let's see what's
going on here. Yeah. Yeah.
What is funny. Right. And thenyou realize the severity of
everything. Yeah. This is notfunny anymore.
Danny (22:11):
The joke. The joke, yes.
Tyler (22:13):
In the moment, it's
still, it was still just just
teasing it.
Danny (22:16):
I know. And I definitely
think I could have taken that
doctor, the first doctor. Forsure. For sure. Yeah.
He attacked. Nice. He attacked.
Tyler (22:23):
Yeah. And, so now we we
we yeah I mean like that that
was the whole idea of this hopeis to give everybody an update
to never to never falter toalways stay consistent with what
we're doing even through thetoughest of times which you
know, in all reality, intentsand purposes, this may not be
the toughest thing that that wego through or that you go
(22:44):
through. There could still beYeah. There could be more on the
horizon, but we always take thatability of, like, this is just a
moment of life, you know, thatnext the the greatest thing is
not has not even happened to usyet. The greatest thing in our
lives has not even happened yet.
Danny (22:58):
Right. I think the the
interesting thing is too, right,
we face we've I faced mortalitylosing my brother, but it it it
ramped it up a little bit level.Okay. Now this is my mortality,
but there's a little bit ofseparation there. But at the
same time, like, okay, I doremember being very emotional,
(23:18):
kind of welling up thinkingabout my children.
I distinctly remember having akind of a that two wolves
thought. Oh, yeah. Right?
Tyler (23:27):
You know? Which one do I
feed? Which one do I feed?
Danny (23:30):
And I have this, like,
distinct picture in my mind of
my youngest standing in front ofthe door when she's little, not
wanting me to leave for work andshe's standing there and it was
a very kind of clear analogywhere I'd already heard this 95,
90 percent, like, we're not evengonna think that. And yes,
(23:50):
there's there may be somemiserable times ahead, I don't
know, I'll be honest, I've beenvery impressed with how easy it
has been so far and knock onwood, like, it'll continue to go
that route. There was one nightwhere I was like things are
beeping, I'm uncomfortable, I'mnew to all of this, I'm not
sleeping, I got a headache and Icould see my brain, okay I'm
(24:11):
routed back at that intersectionagain, I'm routed back even
though I've even though I'veseen this person and just
standing in front of this doorthat I'm not supposed to go
down. This is going to be adaily choice to to not even
think about that. We're gonnafeed we're gonna feed the
positive.
We're gonna feed the not gonnabe toxically positive. We're
(24:32):
gonna realize there's gonna bedays where it's it's sick and
slow and it's okay. Yeah. Slowdown. Slow down.
Tyler (24:39):
That'll be
Danny (24:40):
But don't feed that.
Don't feed that. You've lived
the hard life. You know? Youjust lost your brother.
You just you've had all thesehardships. This could be your
just become that 10%. It wouldbe would have been very easy to
just say that this is it. I'm sotired. I'm so exhausted.
Let's just feed that maybe andmark it up. But that's not I I
(25:02):
didn't feel like that was thatwas the conversation I was
willing to entertain with thispersonage. This picture stuck in
my mind. This person I wanted toget out that door.
Tyler (25:13):
And surrounding yourself
with people that build you up is
key to you, right? Yeah. Becauselike man, you bring in, you
know, you don't have thatcommunity that you would, that
you've built or the people thatyou have in your life now that
you've, sometimes you have tocut people out of your life in
order to have a positive life. And it's nothing against them.
It literally is nothing againstthem.
Yeah. It's just that they're notserving you a purpose right now.
Danny (25:35):
Yeah. So funny. I just I
just clipped a caption from Jobo
being said something just verymuch like that. Like, you have
to be okay. It doesn't matterwho they are.
If they're not adding to it, ifthey're attracting, take
Tyler (25:47):
the take the printers out
and print. And so as we, know,
just because the kids are comingdown, we don't want to like
stick me here, we could talkforever. You probably could.
These kind of things, right?Yesterday we had a belt test,
which was amazing, you know, tosee some of these people
(26:08):
persevere the way that theyhave.
I'd like to give a real bigshout out to Loi. Loi is a young
a young woman who's who's just acouple years ago was in a very,
very rough place, very roughplace. And she has persevered.
Jiu Jitsu has helped herimmensely and the way she tested
(26:32):
yesterday was awesome. Theysurprised Zach and Spencer
yesterday that they didn't evenknow they were gonna be testing
and they tested for their purplebelts with everybody doing the
blue belt stuff.
And, you know, those dudes, theystarted out a little cold and
then that when they hit theirstride, they really hit their
(26:52):
stride. And then Grant, ofcourse, like Grant, man, knocked
it out hard. Good. I'm still Whoended up
Danny (27:02):
in the game for him?
Tyler (27:05):
Will. Did Will? Dude,
Will was his partner. Yeah. And
he threw Will around.
Will made him look so Will madehim look amazing. Good. We've
talked about Chris Langelbefore. Yeah. Yeah.
He his partner was tripped, andhe threw tripped a couple times.
Tripped walking around a littlegingerly today. That's good fun.
(27:25):
It was fun. And then big Dan got
Danny (27:26):
a couple I was so stoked
to see that. I love that guy.
Could not be a bigger heart thanJim.
Tyler (27:32):
Talk about like, finally.
Yeah. You know, you see that guy
finally, like, yeah, duh. Yeah.Yeah.
He's been a purple belt. Like,feels like he's been a purple
belt for a while, you know.Yeah. And a professor had really
good stuff to say of, like, why,you know, like, just the way
they look at things and stripesand belts, like he always says,
so that people don't getdiscouraged, you know. They
(27:54):
presented Anthony with a bigposter Oh, cool.
Of the black belts, Mike's blackbelts, the one that we have on
the wall. Nice. You know, itmakes you longingly, like, man,
I can't wait to be on that levelof back belts, you And they
talked about, like, just, youknow, supporting Anthony and and
being there for Anthony and, like, wishing him all the best
(28:16):
and how he's gonna now beinstead of a jujitsu teacher,
he's gonna be a marriagecounselor, a therapist. Because,
you know, he's gonna do allthese other roles that Yeah.
That the gym owner requires.
And it was really cool. Like, hewas, you know, he was stoked
because it's where, you know, his home home is there. Right?
It's just an extension of oflife over in Hemer now, you
(28:38):
know. And I and I did I didn'trealize, like, how close the
Gracie Barra is to you drivepast Anthony's Yeah.
To get you would have to drivepast Anthony's to get to the
Gracie Barra. Yeah. So Anthonysaid he's gonna, like, just
throw a bunch of Chichihitsustuff along the street so that
Yeah. People can turn in there. And, You get excited for those
(28:59):
guys and it feels great to be apart of that community.
While we've only been doing thisfor, it seems like longer than
two years, but this is ourcommunity as well. Absolutely
is. You know, and the peoplecare. They want to know and they
want to see what we're goingthrough and this is it. We live
(29:19):
our life, you know, for allintents and purposes behind a
camera sometimes and behind amicrophone sometimes and we put
it all out there we don't don'tsugarcoat very many things in
our in our life because we wantit to be real we want to be
authentic yeah and this is asauthentic as it gets
Danny (29:37):
as authentic as it gets.
Now, if you'll come with me,
we'll check my stool sample.Other big news though for you as
well, you already maybe want tomake a Yeah. Just segue into
that as well, because that'shuge news for you as well.
Tyler (29:49):
Yeah, I we've talked
about, you know, the Mountain
Elite Spa massage, the sanctuaryover there. And Crystal Joy and
her staff, and and that theythey extended an offer to me to
start men's breath work andmen's Yes. Health to to help men
(30:14):
in that in that little sanctuaryto to do that. And and I did
accept and so now Mondays andFridays at 8AM starting tomorrow
which would be the eighteenth at8AM. Yeah, we're going be doing
breath work and men's classesthere for the foreseeable
(30:37):
future.

go to mind body app and look atthe sanctuary, look up Danny.
Was crazy. I went over there, they set up my little account.
They, yeah, I mean, it wasawesome. It was really quite, it
(30:58):
was really humbling, you know,at the point of like, man, it's
here, know, it's happening, know, things are things are
things are going the way thatthat we see them going
sometimes. Yeah. Right? Not Imean, of course, this has
changed things, right?
Because I'd left my friend therewith me, but this is where it is
right now, right? And so onMondays and Fridays, 8AM, we'll
(31:22):
get together, we'll we'llbreathe, we'll we'll do some
routine stuff, I'll teach someroutine stuff. And and if you
want a SALT in SANA, if you wanta SANA, we can there's the
ability to just book time withjust me by myself, I can teach
you what, you know, what we doin the SANA, how we approach
SANA, breath work, and the SALTroom, which is great for just
(31:47):
respiratory. Yeah, yeah. Health.
I was telling Tyler, you go intothat place and sometimes you go
into places where you just, youfeel so comfortable And what
they do there, what Crystal Joyhas done there and their staff
is amazing. And so I'm blessedfor that opportunity. I'm
grateful for it. Got my firstclients going and Congrats, man.
(32:12):
I appreciate it.
You know, Highlife Breathing ismy own personal website, my own
personal, if you're looking forthings for just to work with me.
Yeah. And we're really trying toget back to growing the jujitsu
community, the men's healthcommunity, with everything that
just happened with Tyler. Itputs back in the perspective
(32:33):
that that life is short, life isfragile. Yep.
And this little time that wehave here on this little rock is
so important to buildconnections. Have this to have
this and yeah, you know, is whatit is at this point, right? Is
just you'd be
Danny (32:50):
happy and 100% every day.

one day at a time. Cool man, I'mproud of you. Thank you for
supporting me, being part of mycare team.

(33:13):
in a way that kind of keeps myown mental health in check.
And so we really appreciate yousupporting our journey and check
yourself like don't be afraid toask for help, don't be afraid to
seek outside assistance. Thereare some smart ass people out
there that know that care andthat they don't care at the same
(33:35):
time right they're not going tolaugh at your poop so they're
screwed up shlong from yourvasectomy or yeah. That's where
you they're gonna take care ofyou. Yeah. I got nothing else.
I'm I'll be here. We'll probablydo one more episode from here
before we're in outpatient andwhat cancer? No quarter's gonna
be given. We're gonna just
