The group wakes to the quiet calm of the forest, trying to convince themselves things feel normal again. For a moment, it works there’s laughter, warmth, even pancakes. But Rue knows better. Something changed last night. She can feel it, senses it in the fog, hear it in the trees. And she’s not the only one. Tensions bubble just beneath the surface, even as they pretend everything’s fine. There gear starts failing. The fog gets closer. And what starts as a lighthearted morning ends with something dragging itself through the trees something watching. Waiting.
