I used to think finding “the one” would change everything. So I made finding him my full-time job. I tried every dating app, followed all the rules, and even created an “ideal partner” list I read aloud every day. But here’s the spoiler: the apps didn’t fix my heart. What actually changed everything was the inner work — clearer boundaries, daily self-dates, a few simple message scripts, and one boundary that shifted everything.
In this episode, I tell the messy, honest story of my dating years (from eHarmony to Match and everything in between), the family pressures that shaped my thinking, and the moment I stopped settling.
You’ll hear:
• How I wrote and practiced a values-based “ideal partner” list.
• The exact boundary I set — and the words I used.
• Practical message scripts you can say when you need consistency and respect.
• Why dating yourself is the quiet rebellion that helps you show up as the person you actually want to be.
This episode is part memoir, part toolkit, including my real stories with concrete takeaways you can use whether you’re new to dating or ready to shift patterns.
I also share a book that helped me practice showing up with confidence: Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Argov — grab it here.
