My recent trip to Podfest has ignited a shift in my perspective!

Podfest, a haven for podcasters, exposed a truth—I've been holding back. I believe fear of rejection has tempered my honesty, and it's time to change that.

I'm recalibrating the way I fuel our conversations from behind the mic. Expect to hear the unvarnished truth, the kind that might ruffle feathers or challenge comfort zones, as I commit to a podcast that's as real as the life I'm living.

As we move forward, I'm thrilled to unveil a new website at www.widowyourway.com, where we can connect in various ways. You can schedule a call to chat, ask me anything, or share your story for the podcast, social media, or my upcoming blog. I'm excited to be speaking at events and offering widow workshops soon.

Get ready for more surprise appearances on other podcasts and interviews with inspiring widows and other special guests dedicated to helping you move forward in life, not just grief.

Being a widow is just one chapter in our life journey. Together, we'll redefine the widow's journey, celebrating that love endures beyond loss.

As always, Widow Your Way ❤️

Rebecca (00:37):
Hey friend, I know I know I have not been very
consistent with these episodes, but I Tell you what this fight
with cancer has had me feeling alittle Defeated lately, until
my most recent trip to podcast, which I think has turned things

(00:58):
around for me a little bit.
First, let me tell you aboutpodcast.
It's basically a convention forpodcasters where you can learn
from the best of the best andDiscover all the latest and
greatest in the podcasting world.
This was my second year atpodcast, so I was on a mission.

(01:18):
I went in wanting to learn waysto get my podcast more
recognized so I can basicallyleave my mark on the world
Before my time is up.
I mean, how do I spread mymessage of living happily even
after loss to as many people aspossible?
But what I learned was I Amholding myself back, I Am not

(01:47):
being authentic, I Am not givingyou my truest self, I Am not
telling my whole story.
I have realized that I do tendto leave some things out and I'm
not always detailed enough.

(02:07):
However, there are some thingsin my life that I am not willing
to share publicly.
I Even feel like I've beensugarcoating things a little.
I've been holding back what Ireally want to say, because I'm
afraid of rejection, I'm afraidof losing my listeners and I'm

(02:31):
afraid of losing all 350 of myfollowers now.
I know that it's not that many, but hey, delusion has caught me
this far, so I'm just gonnakeep going and, with that being
said, you're gonna see somechanges in my content and what

(02:54):
you hear.
I know I'm gonna offend somepeople and I'm probably gonna
get some backlash for it, butI'm not going to apologize for
how I feel.
So I'm ready.
What do I have to lose?
I've already lost so much.

(03:15):
I just don't want to losemyself in this process.
So here's what's to come.
First of all, I have a websitenow Yay and you can check it out
at wwwwidowyourwaycom, and thefirst thing you're gonna notice

(03:35):
is that I'm open for business, but Not really business business
, because if you have beenfollowing me, you know that I
Decided not to start the HRconsulting business for grief in
the workplace due to my cancerdiagnosis.
But I Am offering more ways foryou to connect with me.

(03:57):
You can now schedule a call tochat with me about whatever you
want.
You can also ask me anything, you can share your story and you
can be featured on the podcast,my social media or my blog,
which will be coming later.
I am also super excited that Iwill now be speaking at events

(04:24):
and I will also be offering someworkshops soon for the podcast.
I'm not sure if I'm gonna bebreaking down the podcast and
seasons anymore, because I'mfeeling like this is my final
season in life and, honestly,I'm not sure how much it even

(04:45):
matters to listeners anyway.
But, most importantly, you'regonna hear more honest opinions
from me, and remember these aremy opinions and I don't speak
for every widow.
We all have different lifeexperiences that shape how we
grieve, and there are lots ofgreat widow podcasts out there

(05:11):
and mine may not be for you, andthat's okay.
You're also gonna see meguessing more on other podcasts,
where I am finding that otherstend to pull little surprises
out of me that I've neverthought about sharing before.
And, lastly, I'm gonna startdoing interviews.

(05:34):
I am gonna be interviewingother widows and I am gonna be
finding people who are dedicatedto helping you move forward in
life, not just in grief.
I want you to know that being awidow is only one part of your
life journey because, after all, love is not dead, just your

(05:59):
husband, you.
