Knowing ourselves and becoming who we are meant to be is an onging endeavor by overcoming and developing a healthy relationship with ourselves. The old adage, "To Thine Own Self Be True" is like looking at ourselves through our own mirror to authentically understand and accept ourselves; and acknowlege our strengths and capabilities for self discovery. As we endeavor on our life's journey, it is up to us to find our way home to ourselves.
Dr. Jean Marie explores aspects of ourselves including the shadow self (broken and wounded), the human self (personality self driven by ego and influenced by external sources) and divine love (the power and true self). She emphasizes that the more we separate from our true selves, the more our shadow selves emerge from the hidden, dark side. After many blows, we become fractured and wounded. Some relationships become transactional and conditional, based on our adherence to the established rules of measuring up. We operate from a fear-based mindset. Moving away from the center of divine love, we search for love externally, which seems endless.
Highlights from her article, Finding Yourself, previously published in Sivana East, include: Live from the heart, Fulfill your passion and potential, Learn from relationships and Attune to nature provides insights on become wholeheartedly centered and grounded.
The Love in Action practice includes 2 parts: Part 1 -Journal about yourself including qualities, what you like about yourself and things you would like to improve. Part 2 - Ask a trusted relative or friend to share what they admire about you and growth points for change. Compare the notes.
This episode closes with an empowering excerpt on Self-Inspiration.
