Humilty empowers us to achieve self-mastery, transform our relationships and enrich our lives through selfless service. Humilty is a foundation ingredient of love. It is recognized as an essential quality for soulful leadership. This ingredient of love takes us out of ego and regarded as a quiet virtue. When we are humble, we are not puffed up, haughty, prideful and arrogant. We do not have an exaggerated feeling of self-importance. When we are humble we are open to listening and hearing others, seek inner guidance for direction, and fully accept ourselves realizing that we are capable of making errors for personal growth and can profit from life experiences.

A well-defined life encompasses humility, a quiet inward spiritual quality that is outwardly expressed. It brings peace and contentment to our soul.  It is an inherent natural quality that can be overshadowed by our ego. Humilty is strength of character beyond status, rank or class. Through this ingredient of love, we regard ourselves and others as deserving and worthy.

Dr. Jean Marie highlights three aspects of humilty: Humilty with self, Humilty with others and Humilty in service. Being humble, we realize that we are not beyond seeking help and accepting feedback from others.  No matter what we achieve, we stay grounded and centered within. We take note of our life's journey to achieve spiritual maturity. Being gentle with ourselves, we are compassionate and forgiving. We grow and learn through our relationships with others. Humilty bridges the gap in effective communication and interaction. It's subtle influence is transformative. We are not quick to respond nor argumentative and allow others to feel seen and heard. Selfless service is humility. Charitable service is an avenue of love with pure intentions and without motives for self-gain. We are accessible no matter what station in life serving for the greater good of humanity. This brings joy and happiness and uplfits ourselves and others.  Labors of love through selfless service is not looking down on others. We are sensitive and responsive to others.

The Love in Action practice has two parts: Part One: Journal on humility. What it means to you. Engage in self-reflection and self-introspection. Be the observer of yourself. Journal on encounters and interations that were positive and enriching and those that were not. What were your thoughts, feeling and actions that resulted in positive and negative outcomes. Part Two: Cultivate humility in your daily life. How does it make you feel when you practice humility. You will find that you refrain from self-condemnation and harsh criticism. You realize that life experiences facilitate personal growth and spiritual maturity. Pay attention to how you are being with yourself and others and notice outcomes.
