(00:00):
Hello and welcome back to the Lovejoy Nation podcast for
episode 6. I'm Leslie.
I'm joined here by my Co hosts Angie and Dave.
Glad to have you back again. Oh, it's great to be back.
It's absolutely great to be back.

(00:22):
Technical issues. So I want to say thank you for
covering for me as such. Basically the laptop actually
physically died so. Sad.
Yeah, yeah, such a pain in the neck.
So, yeah. So I'm back from a Jimmy and
those in the UK. That was a really long Jimmy.

(00:43):
Wow. Yeah, those in the UK know that
it's a Jimmy Riddle Piddle before we really get started,
last episode, episode 5 with Ali.
Brilliant. Well done.
Absolutely fantastic. Really loved it.
And I know I couldn't be there because time differences and
that may be the case, you know, in the future.

(01:05):
Fantastic. If you haven't listened to it,
go listen to it. Brilliant.
Well done. Thank you Dave, we enjoyed
recording it. Ali was so sweet and really blew
us away with her knowledge of the mental health crisis for
Gen. Z and beyond and the strategy
she had for dealing with it and just like her different

(01:28):
viewpoints on everything to do with cancel culture.
It was eye opening and I I hope a response has been great so
far. So I hope that continues.
If you're listening to this episode and you have not
listened to the episode before this where Leslie and I talk
with Ali. Go back and listen.
I think it's super important andI'm proud of it.

(01:50):
I think it turned out really well.
And because of it, we're lookingto perhaps make this an ongoing
series that periodically will drop a another episode devoted
to mental health because we justbelieve it's so important and
we're entitling the series. Are you all right?
Because can't get more perfect than that, right?

(02:12):
So yeah, we'd love to hear from you, love your feedback and
ideas for future episodes. Under that umbrella would be
awesome too. As far as what I've been up to
since, yeah, that's really the biggest news I've got as far as
what I've been up to since the last recording.
Recording that podcast, which toput a button on it, yeah, it

(02:33):
was. I feel like it was a great
achievement for Angie and I to get that under our belt and to
meet Ali was wonderful too. But I won't, I won't keep going
on with that. I'm mostly excited now for the
end of this month. I'll be visiting England with my
husband and daughter for a extended vacation.

(02:53):
I don't know, hoping to maybe run to a member of the band, but
they're going to be busy. But with some music festivals
and things. But you never know.
Keep an eye out for sure. And I also hope to post a vlog,
pictures, etcetera from the trip.
We'll be in Brighton, so we hopeto hit all the landmark places
that we need to. Anything Lovejoy related is on

(03:14):
our list to hit, and I'll end tomeet up with Dave in person
which would be really cool. Yeah, I'm looking forward to
that. That's in a few weeks time, but
yeah, really looking forward to that.
We're all going to come down andspend the day in Brighton, meet
up, who knows, might even go live.

(03:37):
Get your mic in case and you're Lego figures.
Angie. What have you got planned?
What are you up to? Well, I am not going to England,
so I'll be over here sad becauseyou 2 are are meeting up and I'm
not, but I will be in Milwaukee.Dave's shaking his head at me.

(03:59):
I'll be sad. No, you'll be at a gig.
I will, yes. I will be at the Summerfest gig
in Milwaukee, WI on July 3rd. So look for me, I will have some
super cool pod stickers, I may have some little golden bite
sized treasures. We'll see.

(04:20):
Wink wink wink nudge nudge. Come chat with me, I'll be in
the queue, I'll be in the pit hoping to talk to you.
Some of you guys ask you some questions and who knows, you
could end up on the pod. So keep an eye on our socials
that weekend. We hope to have some content out

(04:41):
for you as soon as possible. And that's we look forward to
that. July 3rd, correct.
July 3rd. So I'm I'm hoping to see a lot
of people there. I'm, I'm excited.
I think it will be. I don't think I know.
It'll be super exciting. And who knows what kind of new
music we're going to hear. Yeah.

(05:03):
Oh, we're going to hear some newmusic, and you're going to be
the first one of us to hear it. Amazing.
Well, that brings us to what we're going to cover in today's
episode. As usual of our band news
roundup, we have a fun segment called Ask Us Anything.
We asked you guys to send us your questions and you sure did.

(05:25):
So we'll be going through those and also how we can best support
Lovejoy, promote their new music.
All the tips and tricks, things we need to do as a fandom, as
love enjoyers, we'll be covering.
So now it's time for Lovejoy Band News, and Angie's got the
scoop on the FM One O 2.1 summercamp.

(05:46):
Yes, gig alert Lovejoy is going to summer camp Milwaukee, WI,
the same place that Summerfest is happening.
Their alternative radio station,FM One O 21 announced that
Lovejoy is playing an ultra intimate private acoustic gig as
part of their FM One O 21 SummerCamp series.

(06:07):
This acoustic show is going to happen on Thursday, July 3rd in
the afternoon, right before the boys take to the stage that
night as headliners. The FM One O 2 Summer Camp has
been around for a while. It takes place over the three
weekends of Summerfest, and it includes a handful of artists
who each play their own separateshows.

(06:28):
And guys, this is like a dream come true.
Each show is roughly about 100 people.
It'll just be the boys and theiryeah, chill and their their
acoustic guitars and whatever that thing Mark has that he
beats on. Does anybody know what that's
called? His little board?
What? I don't know what you're talking

(06:51):
about for the. Acoustic shows Mark's Mark's got
his little board that he sits. It's it's like a little.
Never a little. Washboard, but it's not a
washboard. Sorry, that's my washboard
impression. Do you know I'd love, love to go
to a gig like that? Man, I would people, I would
too. Unfortunately, I will not be

(07:11):
able to be there. There are some rules as far as
age restrictions and whatnot, and you can't just show up or
you can't buy a ticket, you haveto win entry.
So check out F the FM One O 21 website For more information on
Lovejoy's summer camp performance.
That they have all the details there.
I have to say, FM One has been areally huge supporter of the

(07:33):
boys from the beginning. A couple years ago they brought
Lovejoy to town as part of theirBig Snow Show series, which has
been another really huge event for them.
I mean, the first one that they had, My Chemical Romance was
headlining, so they brought somereally big names to town.
And I know that one of their higher ups is a huge Lovejoy
fan. She was even in attendance at

(07:54):
one of the first US shows in 2022.
So go give them a like on Insta or socials.
Like I said, they're a huge supporter and go check out the
details on this gig and hopefully we will be able to see
some nice photos and video from afterwards.
But yeah, what a dream, right, guys?
Oh my gosh. If you live in these like 5

(08:16):
counties in the middle of the country, you're very lucky that
you are able to participate and even try to get a spot.
Yeah, it's really specific. You have to live in either
Milwaukee County or if there's afew, there's a few counties
surrounding it. And I live just outside of the
area and my kid would kill me ifI went without her because it's

(08:38):
18 plus. So unfortunately we won't be in
attendance, but hopefully, hopefully we'll know somebody
that will be there so we can getsome content.
Awesome. Yeah, I look forward to seeing
it. However we get to see it all.
I know. Same Part 2 of the Lovejoy
movie. I believe it was called

(08:59):
Adventures in Australia, yes. Backstage backstage with Lovejoy
in Thailand and Australia, Right.
Please tell me you've both watched it more than once.
Definitely have. It's been a while though.
We've actually had Lovejoy news since then that's sort of

(09:20):
swallowed that up a bit. It has, but I mean I missed out
on the first one when you all discussed it because I crashed
and burned. But great both of them.
Absolutely fantastic. Second one, absolutely
wonderful. Just showing the vulnerability
of will also the the security threat in Australia.

(09:41):
That was that was heartbreaking. That really was.
Very scary tell. They were very nervous and
scared and didn't know what to expect.
They were, you know, nervous. Anyway, they're in a new
country. It hadn't, you know, they were
just making their way back out on the stage again after a while
off of the stage. But it turned out well.

(10:04):
They turned out turned out more than well, right?
They walked. Off saying.
Absolutely that. They were blown away with the
audience there and the love theyfelt, and they said it was one
of the best audiences or the best audience they've ever
performed in front of. So thank God it took the turn
like that because it started offwith lots of butterflies, I'm
sure. Yeah, I mean, I can't.

(10:24):
Imagine how they must have helped.
No, that's what I say for Will to say what he says or said
about being nervous and preparing for it.
Yeah. To have that response at the end
with the crowd must have been so, yeah.
They needed that. So thank God, yeah.
Absolutely. The audience had no idea, none

(10:46):
at all. They were just thrilled to have
them there and see them. Yeah, and just hearing him say I
was prepared for someone to hurtme or to be hurt was just, it
was gut wrenching. And how he would react if
something happened. And Mark had said that they
never encountered anything like that before.
So it was a new, very real scary, you know, feelings they

(11:08):
went through. Yeah.
And on a lighter note, we had a shooey incident.
It's wow there. I think twice, a couple times or
I don't know. Did they do it every show?
Probably. For those that don't know what
that is, Dave, can you enlighten?
No. No, you don't wanna.

(11:29):
Basically, I think in this particular one was was it a
foot? Well, first it was a He took his
own shoe off the very first. Yes, and the second one was a
plastic foot, wasn't it? Yes.
I don't know which one was more disgusting.
Big Foot. He said he regretted the shoe
using his own shoe because he had to wear a soggy beer or so

(11:52):
too after that. But basically, the crowd chanted
at him, do a shoe Y So he takes his shoe off, pours his beer in
his shoe and drinks out of his shoe, which is yeah, so
rock'n'roll. Dang you Australia?
I would think that at least using your own shoe would be

(12:14):
better than drinking out of someone else's stinky shoe.
I mean, granted, you've got to walk around with a soggy foot,
but I don't know about that. You know he knows it.
If Joe would know if he's got a verruca, wouldn't he?
Do you know what I mean? Whereas drinking out of somebody
else's plastic foot who's been wearing it all day, do you know?

(12:36):
What I mean, I don't mean like someone else's shoe.
I just mean like you're drinkingout of a shoe.
How's that like drinking out of a worn shoe?
Whosever it is, is. Foul.
That's a little gross. I actually think I would maybe
take the plastic foot. I don't know how about you guys
shoe or plastic foot? Plastic foot as long as it's
fresh. Own shoe.

(12:58):
Own shoe, really. I know where my foot's been.
Somebody may have weed in that plastic.
Well, you're thinking in the queue very poorly of this, this
audience of fans. You know that was the threat a
peed on plastic foot. This is going downhill.

(13:25):
We're really what's unhinged unhinged.
No chaotic, chaotic hug from thefan quality conversation from
the PBT. Let's move on.
We have a. Lot to cover.
Well, let's let's just say if you haven't watched them, go
watch them. Both Absolutely brilliant.
Really, really good. And you laugh, you cry.

(13:47):
Absolutely all the emotions for this episode, this second part.
On May 22nd, a teaser trailer dropped which got everyone
bouncing off the walls. It was only about a minute long.
It was a montage, A scrapbook. A chaotic is almost as chaotic

(14:07):
as us. A bunch of visuals, I'd say.
Some gritty, tough music and imagery in there, some religious
imagery in there. And it left everyone dissecting
any little bits you can make outalong the way in that short one
minute. And some even speculated there
was a clue as to perhaps an album release or single release

(14:31):
or something happening on June 6th.
Because at the end of the trailer, the band is standing, I
guess, like near an overpass or a bridge of some sort.
And there's graffiti on a cementwall that kind of sort of, if
you squint says 6/6 and then 25,like June 6th, 2025.

(14:53):
Some might say that proved to bemeaningful and be something,
wouldn't you say? And.
Yes, in fact, on June 6th, whichwas just yesterday in the real
world here, Lovejoy announced that their lead single from the
forthcoming debut album will release on Friday, June 20th.

(15:15):
So we did have something on the 6th, we had this single
announcement. The name of the song is with Rob
as my witness. And when I tell you that
everybody just freaked out when this announcement was made on
social media, oh, my gosh, I tell you what.
It ruined my entire day. Like I was useless.

(15:38):
Forget it. Work.
Yeah, No. And I think everybody kind of
felt the same way. And everybody was just just
going bananas. This, this is where I am so glad
I'm in the future. I'd finished work, I was at
home. Lucky.
And my wife said, why have I gotan e-mail from Lovejoy?

(15:59):
Yeah. And that was it.
Amazing. And then?
Amazing you guys are still at work and all this lot and you
know, so this is where I'm glad I'm in the future.
Very distracting, but fortunately I was on my lunch
break so I was able to feverishly post everywhere.
But for both releases, we've really gone wild, haven't we?

(16:23):
Three of us. It's just like.
Yeah, yeah, it's I for I forgot to mention, I just want to drop
this in. I forgot to mention that the
teaser trailer, why we're calling it a teaser trailer is
at Also at the end of this shortone minute video, it said
Lovejoy debut album very cryptically without any more
detail. That was why we knew it was

(16:45):
something to do with this new album that we knew was on the
horizon. But yes, there was actually more
to the happenings. Yesterday on June 6th, on the
Lovejoy subreddit, Wilbur himself posted a sneak peek, a
short video of himself on the guitar, playing snippets of a

(17:07):
song and then seeming to get confused and stop and start and
stop, just to torture us all so we couldn't hear a nice long
stretch of notes. But of course, they keep us
guessing, keep us getting workedup and excited leading up to now
we know June 20th for the actualrelease of the single.

(17:29):
I'm so excited. I've got a fun story to tell you
guys about this, too, when we were in Brooklyn, You know, you
and I, Leslie. Oh, yes, yes.
A band member wrote something ona piece of paper for Pebble, and
it was, you know, Rob's your only witness.
So when the name of that single dropped yesterday, we were all

(17:53):
just like, what? You know, Rob's your only
witness. So, you know, these boys have
been dropping crumbs for a long time, I think.
And they really. Just got to.
Keep the guys. Filled out of things, wasn't
there also I think you've now now what happens right We all
look back at clues. There was a Reddit post where
the word Rob was mentioned and. The scrapped post.

(18:15):
Yeah. And then, right, Dave, you're
right. Yeah.
Angie, wasn't there a word puzzle, a word search on the
setlist that you guys got at theresources for teaching for show
in Brooklyn? I remember you.
Seeing, I bet there's clues in that.
Were there any? Did you get back and look and
see if there's any clues there as well?

(18:37):
Yes. It wasn't one of the setlist
that we got, but one of the girls that was with us, my
adopted daughter, her set list that she had was written.
I had something, I can't remember the exact wording.
It had something to the effect of Rob as my witness or
something like that. And it was, it wasn't in there

(18:59):
like your typical word search. It was just, it was circled so
it was like up, down and backwards and sideways like it
made no sense, right? You wouldn't do it in a typical
word search, but he had circled that specifically.
So, yeah, those of us that were in Brooklyn there got those
nice, those nice little crumbs, didn't we, Leslie?

(19:19):
That is, I bet more and more things are going to come out.
You got to keep that document handy to to compare for sure.
And, you know, I wonder if otherpeople from other shows have
gotten any crumbs. Yeah.
Well they've done those in the UK didn't they in the build up?
So if you're listening and you've got crumbs on your set
list or crumbs from anything else, let us know.

(19:43):
Those guys are good at it. And can we talk?
Go ahead, Dave. It's just unbelievable when you
sit, sit down and you do look back, just these little clues
that just appear and you just don't think or you can't.
Can never predict what things. You can't like head or tail of

(20:05):
it. Right.
You know. They do it with everything.
They did it for normal people things, they did it for sober.
You almost have to wonder how does somebody think that far
ahead and start start dropping those little crumbs like.
It's, I mean, they're pretty. Masterful when you think about
it. They've been at this for a
while, right? They've been working on this for

(20:26):
years at this point, so they've been dying to spill the beans on
some of this stuff I feel like. Absolutely.
They really have. And can we talk about this cover
art for with Rob as my witness? Oh my gosh.
If you guys haven't seen this yet, go to their insta.
Oh my gosh it is so cool. I've seen a few people describe
it as analog horror movie coded.Mm hmm.

(20:51):
I freaking love it. Red the black, the again the the
grittiness, the roughness, the cross on what looks like a wall.
It's just, yes, I was. I just noticed that this
morning. I am here for this.
Sorry, I'm getting a little. Excited, but it's all
understandable it happened. You've a pair of you have been

(21:12):
excited for the past couple of weeks.
You know what I mean? It's yeah, yeah.
I love the artwork. I always knew in my head that
they'd have to move away from. I know that.
I know that they've sort of saidit's the end of an era and it's,
you know, but you always kind ofthought they need to move away

(21:34):
and kind of start again as such. And I think the whole situation
helped with the end of the era. But lovely.
Artwork, our boys are growing up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. We're here for it and this we're
exciting to see the where this is going.
They grow up so fast. And I think, Leslie, I think you

(21:56):
and I a little while ago, we're talking about, sorry, going back
to the album teaser trailer again, about the music that they
use as the background for that trailer and just how different
it feels right from some of the other music.
Yeah. And, you know, I think with the
name Lovejoy and some of the imagery, it gives a different

(22:20):
vibe. Like, I had extra tickets for
the Brooklyn show, and I asked acouple friend of mine, you know,
a friend, friends of ours that are a couple, they go to a lot
of rock shows, but like, the heavier side music.
And I offered them the Lovejoy tickets, and they ended up
turning them down pretty quickly.
Like, that's OK. Thanks, though.
We'll pass. And then later on, I was like,

(22:40):
you really should have gone. It was like one of the best
experiences of my life. I had the best time.
And they're like, well, isn't that sort of like a poppy band,
like pop music? And I was like, no.
So they people just get that misconception.
And I think that might also be why they're going this direction
or maybe this is where they're drawn to.
And yeah, it's growth. And I'm, I'm here.

(23:03):
I'm excited for it. That's a really good
observation. Really.
Yeah. It feels like they're, like you
said, they're growing up. I know this is a tangent.
It's really cool to start with. Are you all right and listen to
the whole discography and just listen to the progression,
isn't? It evolution, yeah, I feel it.

(23:24):
And they're, yeah, they're, I think they're feeling more and
more like themselves or like what they're all into and true
to themselves. And I think it's great.
And I know you like the heavier stuff too, so I'm sure that's
definitely hitting your sweet spot.
Yes, yes, I that heavier stuff really speaks to me.
And I think one of the great things about Lovejoy is that

(23:46):
they have such a variety of musical influences.
I mean, you've got Mark that loves the metal end of things,
and then you've got Will and Joe, who are more kind of, you
know, almost in that indie folk or more mellow.
Yeah, there's a there's a lot ofmellow indie stuff.
Yeah, yeah. And I feel like, and then

(24:07):
there's Ash, who I feel like it's kind of in the middle, but
maybe more towards the rock end of it.
And when you throw it all together, I mean, it's just,
it's magical. You've got indie rock.
Yeah, And you know, in a way I found my what interests me too,
you know, growing up on Billy Joel and John Madonna, who The

(24:29):
Beatles, Michael Jackson. But now, like for such a long
time, I, this is almost going tobe an ask me anything.
For such a long time, I was stuck in a rut.
And these are like, those are the that's what I listen to, you
know, and as you get older, a lot of people don't find new
music. They just listen to what they've
always listened to and gravitatetowards that.

(24:51):
But thanks to my daughter introducing me to Lovejoy and
you know, I do the smart shuffleon Spotify and I learn other
peripheral songs and bands that are similar sounding.
I boost, you know, build up my playlist.
Don't know I'm going on. I'm going on a tangent now you
go. But yeah, I found I found that

(25:12):
indie rock is is more my thing almost.
It's I don't get tired of it. I don't tired of hearing these
songs over and over and over andover and over and over again.
And it's exciting as as an adultto learn I have new tastes.
Good. I've always been an indie kid,
so kind of all of my teens up till now.

(25:34):
I've always liked indie, indie music.
But there is a stage in our older life where you don't maybe
the kids are young, you don't really listen to music because
the kids are young, you don't get any sleep, etcetera,
etcetera. So with with my daughter coming
back in with the Lovejoy and she's she's really such an indie

(25:58):
kid herself now again, I've started listening to a lot of
new indie music and there is Absolutely Fabulous stuff out
there. I mean, I'm mainly going on
British bands, etcetera. There's some really good stuff
and it's really I, I get to the point where it's like, should I

(26:18):
put Lovejoy on or should I put amix of this on?
And it's so difficult to decide, but there's some really good
indie music out there. Dave, you completely hit the
nail on the head with there was a while where I didn't listen to
music because I was busy chasingthis child around.
You know? It's so true.

(26:41):
We've all gone through it. You have that.
However period of time where we're permanently tired, you
just get up, you raise a child, a young child, you go to work,
you do this, you do that, you goto sleep.
You might be lucky and watch something on telly or whatever,

(27:03):
but that's it. But you're not going to concerts
and shows and things like that, no.
And then all of a sudden it's like they grow up, they like
music and you're like wow. And you're.
Like yeah, I made my best friend.
Yeah, I've missed this. My concert buddy is my best
friend and I miss. Yeah, I grew my own concert
buddy, right? Absolutely.

(27:24):
We've just recently we've been to see the Kooks.
We've got James Marrick coming up and we've got Youngblood
coming up. They're all sort of intimate
little shows and all that. James Merritt's doing a signing.
You know, we're, we're going together and it's, it's.
I can't wait. Good stuff.
Speaking of, can't wait in a week from now.

(27:46):
As of this recording anyway. Love Joby playing in the Czech
Republic at the Rock for People music festival.
They are playing the same day asLinkin Park which is pretty rad.
Other notable acts at Rock for People or the Sex Pistols, Guns
and Roses, Fontaine's DC AWOL Nation.

(28:08):
I hope I'm saying these correctly because I know the
names, I just have never said them out loud.
But we have. Sex Pistols, correct?
Wait. Well, that one's pretty easy,
but we have we know of a few people that will be attending,
so we hope to get the inside scoop from how the festival was
and of course to see everyone's photos and videos.

(28:29):
From Yeah, hopefully we'll be able to witness Rob, because
surely they're going to play it,aren't they?
They have to. Yeah, probably right.
What do you think, Ange? With these guys, you never know
what they're going to do, right? What was the little tease in a
quote from Brooklyn Leslie that Will said there are no definites

(28:53):
in Lovejoy, only hopes. There you go.
Look at the tattoos. They're going to play it.
They've just released the information on it.
It's all part of the hype. They have to.
No, I think you're. Right, it would make sense to
get people even more excited, like I want the studio version.

(29:14):
Yeah, for sure. OK all right, let's jump to ask
us anything. You guys feeling brave.
We have a lot of good questions from the audience.
Bring it. Start us off and.
Leslie, what is one piece of merch you wish you had?
I'm embarrassed to say I have most of the merch I could ever

(29:34):
want because I either bought it at the time or Poshmark and
things like that. But there's one item that I
think would be cool for my collection as I've started
collecting pins. I don't have the gold Lovejoy
pin. I think that would be a cool one
to have that I do not. Wow, really?
Yeah, I don't even know where people got that from.

(29:55):
Where was that? How did people get that?
There were a few gigs and I wantto say it was at the beginning
of the Wake Up and It's Over tour over in.
I can't remember if it was the UK or Europe.
UKI think. Was it the UK?
The band was just kind of givingthem out for free at the merch
stand and nobody really knew like what they were for.

(30:18):
But. Yeah, I think it was only like a
handful of shows that they were just giving them away and then
they just disappeared. Well, that's very nice.
I mean, I wish they'd sell merchant shows, not just
Lovejoy, but across the board smaller items like that not even
not every can afford like the high-priced sweatshirts and
things of that nature. So I hope they bring things like

(30:39):
that back. Key chains.
My daughter likes to collect keychains from shows she goes to.
Just throwing it out there. But yeah, that's one item that I
would like that I don't do not. Angie, what's your favorite
memory from fans in the line or the crowd at a show?
Oh, man. You know, I think I think I'm
going to have to say the very first show that we saw, which
was May of 2023 in Minneapolis, everybody was waiting outside.

(31:05):
It had been quite a long day. And all of a sudden, everybody
could hear the band starting soundcheck.
And it was model buses and everybody that was in the queue
just like rushed up to the frontdoors and put their ears against
the glass doors and they were cheering and screaming.
And then everybody started this huge sing along to.

(31:26):
That's good. Yeah.
It was just so great. I've got a video of it too,
which which I love, and it's funto watch every once in awhile,
but just to see everybody so excited over something simple
like a sound check and to be caught up in that, of course,
that was really fun. It was really fun.
And fans, like, it's always so much fun to be in a queue,

(31:50):
right? Like, I think we're pretty cool
as far as fans go. Mm Hmm.
We're a fun group, yeah. Some of us are.
Some of us are grouches. Yeah, no, that's probably that
was that was one of my favorite memories from being in queue.
That's a good one. Sorry, question for Angie.
You said you're going to be at Summerfest this July.

(32:13):
How would I be able to spot you and maybe get a picture?
Also, will you be handing out Lovejoy Nation stickers like had
happened in the past? First of all, I would love to
meet you. I would love to get a picture
with you. I think that'd be so much fun.

(32:33):
If you're looking for me, you just have to look for a silly,
short, chubby old mom with a bird's nest full of blonde hair.
So yeah, no, that would be great.
I would absolutely adore that. And as far as stickers, I will
have podcast stickers with me. I know Leslie has handed out
Lovejoy Nation stickers before in Brooklyn, but definitely I'll

(32:59):
have stickers come up and say hi, grab a sticker.
It'd be fantastic. So I hope to see you there.
Opinions on the new vlog? I think we covered that already
in our recap. Yeah, So I think we can jump
along. And since Davey and I haven't
had a question yet, what's your favorite Ash moment, Dave?
I think to be honest, it's when I met him down in Brighton just

(33:23):
having a chat. Just me and my daughter are
absolutely wonderful guy. I've been sat here actually
thinking about what he said and whether there was any clues in
what he said. But yeah, I think that has to be
a favorite Ash moment, meeting him in Brighton.
Absolutely. Yeah.

(33:44):
Brilliant. Brilliant.
So a question for Leslie. What's the next one on the list?
Favorite Lovejoy cover? Oh OK, favorite Lovejoy cover,
probably knee deep at ATP. I even made a shirt for it with

(34:04):
the picture on it. Also a question for Angie.
Angie's question is favorite album colour?
I'm particular to blue so I'm going to have to go with Pablo
Brain. I concur.
I would say the same if I were asked Leslie, what's your
favorite album colour? Blue because it reminds me of my
favorite Lovejoy merch, which isthe Pebble Brain jumper.

(34:27):
OK Oh, here's one for Dave. Dave, what's your favorite
Lovejoy episode? Wow, do you folks know that it
was ATV program for starters? Yeah, because it comes up and
I'm not trying to find it. Yeah, I'm trying.
To find a band. So it's Ian McShane.
Yeah, Ian McShane was Lovejoy. I saw him in Southampton once,

(34:50):
actually. So my favorite episode was
probably in Series 1 and the title was Judas Pear.
So that will be my favorite episode.
Well, you think that's what they're really asking about that
show? I don't care, but that's what
I'm answering. OK.
I mean, you saw the show, I've never seen the show, so you're
the most qualified to answer. Yeah, it was.

(35:12):
It was one of those sort of shows that your parents always
watched. It was always a Sunday night
thing, you know, a nice warming programme on a Sunday night.
The parents watched it, so you had to sit there and watch it.
OK. To be fair, it was pretty good
at the time. My show like that was married
with children, which I guess is a little dysfunctional, but be

(35:34):
related to it, yeah. That one and Oh my gosh Magnum
PIII hated watching that show but my parents always watched it
anyway. Did you say Judas was in the
episode title? Yes.
So that's like some weird like, reference to like this debut
album, right? I mean.

(35:54):
That's what I thought. Yeah, you planned that.
Did you see Ash's comment yesterday?
He said yes. Yeah.
Did he? Remind me, what did he say?
He said F Judas, but he said thereal word that I don't say I.
Thought that was a proper. Response.
Thanks. Yeah, yeah, I concur.

(36:19):
Angie, who's your favorite Lovejoy member who asked me
this? All right, all right, Was it
you? I'm just kidding.
My favorite. You guys, it's like picking a
favorite child. And I know that Dave is going to
force me to pick one person. Yep.

(36:41):
Which is horrible. I'm going to say Mark the big,
big drum. Good choice.
Mark and his big, big drum. He's just, he's just a ray of
sunshine, isn't he? He is with a great head of hair
his. Hair is fantastic.
He doesn't get enough credit forthat.
No, it's because he's worth it. Yeah, yeah, that was a good

(37:03):
choice. I mean, any of them would have
made a good choice. Right.
I mean as yeah, you really can'tgo wrong spin a wheel.
Dave, what's your favorite Lovejoy lyric?
I think probably it's just sleepon the concrete because that.
Oh, that story you told last. Yeah, it it triggered that off

(37:24):
and and that was the song that Ifirst heard.
It triggered off a memory as such and it's my favorite song.
So I think the combination of all things just to just sort of
triggering it all together. As such, just sleep on the
concrete. Bit boring, sorry.
But you have experience in Yeah,in concrete?

(37:47):
Yeah. Yeah.
I can't say it. Absolutely.
OK, question for Leslie. Yeah, yeah.
What's your favorite Lovejoy song?
I'll stick true to my my usual response.
Sex Cells was my first favorite first song stuck in my head for
days and my favorite not OG songnot on an album song.

(38:11):
So I'm answering two question. I'm answering 2 for the price of
one Spotify singles version of Coma.
What you like? That's the best good choices.
And Angie, what's your favorite Lovejoy moment?
All right, I'm going to be like you and give a 2 for here.
My favorite personal Lovejoy moment would have to be the
night we met Will and Ash and also meeting Mark.

(38:34):
I mean, Joe's the only one that we haven't met.
He's elusive the elusive Joe Goldsmith.
So yeah, personally those are two moments and then I would say
as far as like as far as like non personal gotcha Wills from
the day that call me what you like charted on the UK singles

(38:55):
chart. I will never forget the picture
that he put with that. It was a selfie of himself.
It was totally blurry. You know, he had his phone in
front of him and he was, he was smiling so big and he had, you
know, you don't look like he hadtears in his eyes.
And it was just like. Pure.
Joy and happiness, that picture was, and just to see so happy

(39:19):
and and so proud and just the culmination of all the things
that they'd worked on. And it's like now they have a
Top 40 hit in the UK, which was crazy.
Definitely one of my favorite moments.
I won't forget that. I think I've seen that recently.
I think someone. Reposted it.
Good. Yeah, it's a good one.
OK, Leslie, how did you find? Lovejoy, my daughter begging me

(39:44):
first to buy the vinyls and I failed on that.
I didn't know it was like a thing you had to, like, pounce
on. So.
Oh, shoot, yeah, that's Lovejoy merch I don't have.
I don't have that original album.
Yeah. Test, test, test.
Indeed. So she's like, I need nothing.
I didn't know what I'm like. What am I looking for?
Love. Anvil Cat.
Lovejoy. What is this thing?

(40:05):
And like, later that day, I wenton.
I'm like, oh, it's sold out. She goes.
You had to, like, go on right away when I went on sale.
OK. So I failed.
And I made it up by spending a fortune on tickets to see their
first US show. It was in New York.
And why am I glad I did? It was worth every freaking
penny. And look where I am now.
Yeah. So I owe it to my daughter to.

(40:27):
Why I'm here. She introduced me to their music
and got me to splurge on ticketsfor us all to go.
Yeah, that's how I found him. The rest of history.
Yeah. So question for Angie, very,
very similar question. What made you listen to Lovejoy?
That's when I really fell in love with it.
So, yeah, similar to Leslie. And I'm guessing it's probably

(40:50):
similar to you, Dave. I have my child to thank for
this, for this obsession. Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, because before I got the
tickets to the show and we were just talking about it, I
listened to the songs to sort oflike get familiar with them.
I've mentioned this before, the 1st song I pulled up on Spotify
or Amazon Music was One Day and the line about why'd You Have to

(41:14):
Kill My cat? I was OK.
These guys are funny, if nothingelse, they're humorous.
So I'll enjoy that part of it. They're quirky, Dave.
Oh. How long have you been
listening? I guess early 23, OK, yeah,

(41:36):
yeah, it probably was very early23.
I know it was sort of same year as they did the tour, blah,
blah, blah. Yeah, So probably very early 23
again, same sort of thing. I know I've said it on the Pop
before, but just sort of walked past my daughter's room, thought
I like that. What is it?
Who is it? It's Lovejoy.

(41:57):
It's concrete. I like it.
And then it's the same. The rest is history.
In the car. Yeah, play in the car.
Then she gets out the car and then you carry on playing and it
gone from there. Sorry, question for Leslie.

(42:20):
All it says is favorite song. Yeah, I think we covered that.
Oh, favorite song? Like favorite song?
I don't know. Not favorite Lovejoy song.
They probably meant Lovejoy song.
It'd be real. Although it says your movie
favorite video game and those are not Lovejoy.
Dang it, this is now tough in mylife.

(42:40):
The Beatles has special memoriesto me with an old best friend,
so I'm going to go there for nostalgia.
See if you haven't heard that love and joy yours, check it
out. Angie.
Favorite movie? Well you guys, I'm super cringe
so I'm going to say that I love the Twilight series.

(43:03):
I do, I do. I am unashamed to say it.
As for recent movies, I'd have to say Conclave was a really
great movie and probably one of the best movies I've seen in a
really long time. And of course all the stuff
that's, you know, gone on the past month or so with selecting
a new Pope or whatnot has I think, people more interested in

(43:27):
it. But yeah, for recent purposes I
would say Conclave. And for absolute cringe sake,
and because I love them, I'm going to say the Twilight
series. I've never seen Twilight series.
Sorry, what am I? Watching why?
Who I what do I watch that? But I would see conclave.

(43:50):
I'm curious. I like things that are real most
of the time. Empires are real.
Yeah, what the heck? I like biopics, I like
autobiographies, so I I would definitely check out Conclave,
but no Twilight series. That's like, I don't know, some
teeny bopper vampire thing. I've read the book.
It is. You've.
Read the books now you're that'swhat's more cringe now, ang.

(44:15):
Yeah, I don't know, Dave. You've you're shaking your head
over there. You were shaking your head at.
Her Angie. Now you're saying you've read
the friggin books. All right, Dave, I have got the
penultimate question for you. Are you ready, Team Edward or
Team Jacob? Wow, how long have we got?

(44:39):
How about 5 seconds? Hurry up.
Yeah, because that the question.Wasn't on the list.
Yeah, OK. This is a bonus.
Question. Edward.
Good choice. Excellent.
How about but a question from the list for Dave.
What's your favorite video game,Dave?
Right. I don't really play video games
at all. So we could go right back to

(45:03):
Pac-Man. Donkey Kong loved Donkey Kong
loved Pac-Man. Put them up, pound in the
machine. Almost 50 P You know, in the
machine. Playing Pac-Man on an arcade
recently. Probably was a quarterback then.
Dave, are you fair? Yeah, we don't have quarters.
Oh, so you had to spend a whole 50P on that, huh?

(45:25):
Yeah, or 20P or whatever. It was 20 P then.
Yeah, might have even been 10, but recently Goat Simulator.
What the heck is Goat Simulator? You are a goat and you go round

(45:46):
the streets. You're not people over, you're
wrecked cars. You do everything.
Angie wants this game. OK, it's the most stupidest
game. My gosh.
Ever. But you sit there well.
Apparently you don't sit there. Well, you said they're playing

(46:07):
it, you mean? You sit there playing it and you
just laugh. Oh my God.
Because it's stupid, but I love it.
I think the boys need to play that game.
Yes, yes they do. That fits right in.
It's on point. Next, Lovejoy, etcetera.
Video Goat Simulator. Have you ever played Octodad?

(46:29):
I know, I'm going off topic. He's like a freaking octopus.
The dad, it's a video, it's a computer game.
And he, the way he walks, like big long legs, it's ridiculous.
And if you want another game to laugh at Octodad, check it out.
Anyway, that wasn't my question. It's fantastic.
Yeah. It's just the emotions.
Sometimes we pretend we're walking down the street like

(46:49):
we're Octodad. Yeah.
Oh, you know, I'm going to checkthat out.
Yep. So we got what is it Goat
Simulator and Octodad on the left?
Yeah, quality, all right. I think just.
Mindless fun. I think we have one more.

(47:10):
Yeah. I think there's a few couple
there, isn't there? Yeah.
I think there's one more like question that I can that can be
asked here. That's who are you rooting for
in the Stanley Cup, Ange? Right?
We know kind of who this is fromPam the man.
I will tell you, I know nothing about hockey, but I did actually

(47:35):
just look this out because I seethat your question is apparently
the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers are in the
Stanley Cup, which I didn't know.
I went ahead and looked at theircolors because that's how I'm
going to pick. Nice.
The Edmonton Oilers are orange and blue, and I like blue.

(47:57):
OK, I know exactly who picked this question or who sent this
question. Cam the man, you know, I don't
watch hockey, but I appreciate the question.
So I went and looked at the uniforms of the people that are
playing and blue is my favorite color.
So there is my scientific, highly invested, well

(48:21):
researched, yes, yes, well thought out pick for the Stanley
Cup winners. How's that?
It's an answer. It's an answer.
And you did actually look the two teams that are up for it.
So there you go. I did research.
Are you proud of? Cam I hope.
So right now we have the questions that are for all of us

(48:44):
or any of us, whoever wants to take a stab.
The question here is which one of the Lovejoy animals is your
favorite? In particular to Anvil Cat,
Specifically Anvil Cat when he'sbeen like all mended and
stitched together. I love the fan artwork when
people have him all in one pieceand he's all curled up and

(49:05):
sleeping. Or I've seen a few, I've I've
seen a few where people have himsleeping on top of the anvil
instead of being squished by theanvil, and I really like that.
Yeah, it makes me happy too. Yeah.
I'll probably go. PB.
Seagulls. Yeah, Brighton seagulls.

(49:28):
Brought in. Cornwall seagulls.
They're vicious things. Good luck.
Yeah, good luck eating chips outside.
I was going to say, you got to watch your chips because they'll
be watching them. They'll be watching them too.
Will they just steal them from you?
Yes, they will take them out of your hand.

(49:49):
Really. They took a bag of crisps from
Jack Manifold's hand and they were sealed.
Oh wow, and ice cream off of my friend straight out of his hand.
Shut up, honest to God. Oh my gosh.
Did I? Did I say this on the pod or did

(50:11):
I tell you I was in Swanage and I went to press the button on a
zebra crossing to cross the roadlike your sidewalk.
Green and red and half of baguette fell half an inch in
front of me. Oh, from the sky.
Straight. Yeah, from the sky.
Because the seagull dropped it. Never turn your back if you have
food in your hand on a seagull. You know what?

(50:34):
I think if I could be reincarnated to an animal, I'd
want to be a seagull. In Brighton, you get to fly,
soar around, get fun foods all day.
Oh, that sounds great fun. Yes.
And I want to fight, but steal ice cream from people.
I'm in. Let's.
Yeah, that sounds great. I like your idea.

(50:55):
I never knew what I'd want to be, you know, what animal I'd
want to be. But I think you've just nailed
it. Here's a great question.
Or did you answer? I didn't.
Totally answer. No, I don't need to answer the
other one. We were good.
We're good. Here's a great question for all.
What's your go to store resellers for cheap yet quality

(51:19):
Lovejoy merch, trading cards, key chains, etcetera etcetera?
Every single day I go to my saved searches on Poshmark,
Mercari, and Depop. I've looked on Vinted.
I don't know, do we get Vinted? Because that's just AUK thing.
But also I'll look at eBay as well.
And I've gotten some cool thingslike passes from past shows and

(51:44):
things like that that are totally unique.
But those are my sources. You just got to be careful that
you're getting real merch and not homemade, you know, mass
produced fake stuff. At least I'm not into that
personally. Absolutely.
I mean on on the fake side of it, Aliexpress, they do a lot of

(52:08):
much to say it's fake. It's different, but quality
isn't so good. But I use Vinted.
Vinted is very, very reasonable.Having said that, some of the
prices are sky high and you think mate how are you ever
going to sell it for that price? And then sometimes there's

(52:29):
people just looking to get rid of stuff.
But I picked up the acid What acid wash hoodie and the Pebble
brain jumper, both for £25. So I had the hoodie, my daughter
had the jumper. D pop.
I like D Pop, yeah. I mean, it's all for me.

(52:52):
It's all totally different in America.
I've never been on any of the sites you've mentioned, You
know, is if you're looking for, I mean particularly Anvil cards,
you really got to keep looking and shop around.
Same thing with the vinyls, but they're always hundreds of
dollars. Yeah, I mean, I was fortunate on
one of the vinyls. They're stupid money.

(53:15):
And yet Rough Trade big record store banged it out at retail
price nice just recently. So you have to sit and wait and
shop around. Yeah, I will.
Say if you see an Anvil card that you're looking for at a
good price, scoop it up. They're becoming harder to find

(53:38):
as people have sort of shuffled around what they are keeping,
what they're selling. So yeah, don't sleep.
On those, no, especially the rarer ones.
If it's a really really good price, buy it.
I'd absolutely agree There's a lot of common ones.
I'm not sure what the prices arebut some some of the cards you

(54:01):
can pick up for two £3 over here.
The common ones. But the rarer, rarer.
Stupid money. Occasionally one comes in, I
check most days and you think buy it.
Do you know a total number of cards that exist?
What it is? Yes, but it'll take me a second.

(54:22):
I know I was going. To say, is it 32 like a deck of
cards? No, it's golly.
What is it 9? Here's a good question.
This is a question for all of you.
What do you think will be the cover of the new Lovejoy album?
And do you think that it'll keepthe theme of things blowing up?
Wow, We obviously at the time ofrecording this know the new

(54:49):
potential single cover. So will it things blowing up?
I really don't think so. As I've sort of said earlier,
it's a different era moved on grown up.
I think it'll be along the linesof Rob.

(55:11):
Rob is witness apparently, so I think it'll be dark.
Or it could just be the Lovejoy logo, just the black.
Well, I keep. That wouldn't surprise me.
Keep wondering what the album's going to be called, yeah?
I don't think there'll be any blowing up.
Like you said, I think we're moving into a new era, but the

(55:35):
blowing up was fun while it lasted.
It was that was cool series. Alrighty, I concur with that.
I've said concur a lot too many times this episode.
We just all get along. And I agree with everything
except for Twilight. We can agree.
Your favorite quirks about the members?

(55:56):
What are your favorite moments that happened at a show?
Oh my goodness, these are lots of questions.
I thought you were still on about Twilight there for a
moment. I don't really have anything to
add about Twilight. What are your favorite quirks
about the members? I think we'll stick to that out
of this multi part question. We'll just take that part
because I think that's the most unique out of the a bunch here.
I'd say one of my one of my favorite quirks, because I I
could spend a while on this is the funny random sounds that

(56:19):
Wilbur makes. Even in the little snippet of
the new song, the new single right before he starts on the
microphone, he goes like, love that.
That's a fun quirk. It is pretty good.
I love his seemingly endless history knowledge.
Like who knows all of that stuff, even U.S. history.

(56:40):
The guy is just. Like he, yeah, that's true.
That's a good one. That's they're both great.
I don't honestly don't really follow their quirks, not my
thing. That's too bad.
Really. But yeah, I totally get the

(57:00):
noise that he makes. Swan.
Swan. Yeah, that's yeah.
Do you think? OK, so with the quirks, do you
think we've got an end to Gromlin Gromlish if this is a
new era? Well, that really wasn't part of

(57:21):
an album thing, was it? So much.
Oh, the ship, the ship for a look good room sober.
They'll carry that through in the background.
I don't know. I don't know.
Good question. They never really fleshed it out
anyway. Very true.
Yeah, but I don't think it's going to be the cover of the
album that. Gromlin got yeah, yeah, they've,
they've grown up a bit. Yeah, they're all rock'n'roll

(57:43):
now. Oh yeah.
One of the things I love about Joe, if we're talking about
quirks, is how much he loves animals.
I love when he posts on insta inhis stories are like 50 posts at
a time of animals in the zoo or animals out somewhere.
In the wild. Yeah, yeah, or like 30 pictures
of frogs. It's just.
Yeah, like a Bunny or something,Like something mundane.

(58:07):
It's adorable, and I don't know if Ash is still into this, but
there was a period of time wherehe seemed like he was really
interested in aliens. I hope that he still is because
I think that'd be really cool, and also because the Summerfest
theme for this year is kind of UFO alien theme.
But I was kind of like that little tidbit about him.

(58:27):
And John's cigarette for those in the know in the Reddit.
Oh no, I almost forgot about John's cigarette.
He wanted to forget about Johnson.
Yes, I did. Let's let's be honest, all
right? Another great question.
Yes, Sir. How do you all deal with the

(58:49):
haters? I try not to take it personally
because they don't know who I am.
They're a a stranger to me. I'm a stranger to them.
Ignorance is bliss. Yeah, I just block button is
also handy. Block delete now and then.

(59:11):
I, I don't know, I can't help myself.
Now and then I'll say something,but I I don't get into a fight.
I don't want to go there and I don't, I try to, I try to
project positivity as much as I can and try to keep that level.
I mean, you can see on the screen there's a couple of silly
questions that we've got. I'm clever.
I just kind of laugh at them or shake me head or just like,

(59:33):
yeah, whatever. You know, you'll understand when
you're older. Exactly type thing.
Yep, for. Real.
It's just not nice. Just be.
A good human, that's all. Be a good human and remember.
That we're all human. At the same time, yes, that's
all I got to say about that. And do you?
Have anything to add? Yeah, like I said, the block
button is handy. And I think you just learned to

(59:55):
let it slide off your back. I'm going to be super honest,
like I don't even really care that much anymore.
It's almost, it's almost funny. It's just.
It's yeah, it's lame at this point.
Yeah, sorry, I'm going to not sonice.
Way, But it's true, it's. Let's move on.
Why not? I, I, you know what I say

(01:00:16):
sometimes. If I do say something, I'll
often say use your energy on thebands you like.
You know, use your energy to post comments on their posts and
share them. And why would you waste your
time? There's plenty of musicians or
artists that just aren't my style.
Can't imagine spending the time to harass people in the comments

(01:00:37):
for liking them. That's it.
Absolutely. It's just.
Yeah, no. It's not worth.
Our time? Yep.
In fact, we're not going to spend any.
More time on that question Bada Bing.
Do you play any instruments? That's I played the drums next.
On the list. You've confused me there.

(01:00:58):
When we talk about gummy shark. Yeah, Landshark, did you say
land or loan? Landshark.
Wasn't that on Saturday Night Live?
Yes, Shark would show up at the door.
Yeah, yeah. I'm going to go with that.
For the fun funny answer. The kids won't know.

(01:01:21):
Personally, Hammerhead. Again, it's funny.
Yeah. What sort of thing as?
A Hammerhead? Well, there's a.
Spoonbilled duck or whatever it is spoonbilled.
Bird Platypus No. It's a duck billed.
Plan. Wait, a splat bill shark?
I'm lost. I'm going to say whale shark

(01:01:43):
their. Spots are cool.
It's. Like, I know they're not going
to eat me. So yeah, they have cool spots.
I'll give them that. I'm OK with them.
Here's a good one. What other bands do you?
Like any all time favourites, ones that you loved during your
younger years, Current bands that you like?
We could spend all day on this, couldn't we?
Yeah, especially you just. Bumps my tug in the head with my

(01:02:06):
earphone. One of my all time favourites
is. The Wedding Present, if you've
never heard of them, indie band I think Lovejoy.
Very similar to The Wedding Present Love.
Them still go and see them. Now they're playing later on in
the year, which I shall be seeing them.

(01:02:27):
I think they just played in Brooklyn too.
I was just about to say and. I believe one of you sent.
Me something they've just playedin Brooklyn.
But yes, that's all the time I'mgoing to spend.
On that. OK, Leslie, you got any?
Elton. John Yeah, See, mine were always
like individuals. Not bands, Elton John, Billy

(01:02:48):
Joel, Michael Jackson, Madonna, but The Beatles.
OG fave as my daughter says OG fave is always The Beatles and
then you go from there. So Beatles, even Dave Matthews
Band, which might not be a popular opinion but into a lot
of those shows. As far as bands, have you ever
seen Madonna? No.
OK, I. Saw Britney Spears couple times

(01:03:11):
but no Madonna. My husband got to see Michael
Jackson. He's lucky.
Oh wow, that's pretty cool. Well, for me, I'm going to say I
can sum it up pretty quickly. My Chemical Romance, I thought
you were going to say that, right?
My. Chem is near and dear to my
heart, but you get to see them. Is it the summer?

(01:03:33):
I finally. Get to see them.
I've been a. Fan for years and years and
years and I finally get to see them this summer and I've never
seen them before. No, I haven't.
Might I just? Die or pass out or something?
I'm not sure. I'm not sure I'm I'm prepared
for anything because my daughter's asked me if they
play. London or somewhere can we go?

(01:03:55):
You said yes, right? Yeah, just puts me off the
stupid. Amounts of money Oh yeah, just
for it's because you know it's not just the ticket price you
have all experienced it you knowwhat I mean it's not just the
ticket price it's the food it's the travel it's the hotels it's

(01:04:15):
absolutely everything oh hotels yeah if there's not somewhere
you can just go and. Come home.
Yeah, it gets to be a lot, but. I was like, I don't care, I am
going try to stop me. Yeah, Fair play.
Yep, fair. Play.
Do any of you play instruments? Any of you 2.

(01:04:37):
I played the drums in high school and I loved it because I
was the only girl drummer, so I felt really cool.
So if Mark needs a night off, heknows who to call.
Not compete, but it'd be fun to.Play around up there one day.
I sort of. And learning the guitar, I've
been wanting to do it for absolutely donkeys years.

(01:04:59):
Yeah, I'm sort of learning to play the guitar and not Lovejoy
tunes, although I have done, butjust trying to learn the play
really acoustic. Yeah, I got an.
Electro Acoustic. Nice, I thought, you know, cool.
Go for it. Give it a.
Shot never too late. Absolutely.

(01:05:20):
What's the best concert you've? Been to and why?
Oh, that's a good question. I.
Can answer. Can I answer?
I'm going to. Answer a not Lovejoy concert
just yeah yeah yeah yeah I don'tI.
Think this is general Shoot One's a concert moment.
One's best concert. Do that.
I'll say best concert. Paul McCartney.

(01:05:41):
It was his 80th birthday and it was in Jersey, so of course Jon
Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen had to come out and play with
him and bring a. Balloon and.
Cake and surprise him on stage. That was pretty epic.
Yeah and he puts on a freaking amazing show.
Yeah. Paul McCartney has more energy

(01:06:01):
at 80 or 83 wherever he is now than than I do at my age that we
won't say non-stop, non-stop on that stage.
Amazing show. Come back and ask me this
question. Again after I've seen my come at
the end of August. There you go.
That answer would not surprise me.

(01:06:24):
Perfect. For me it's.
So hard because. I like folk music as well.
And when you're in France and you.
Walk into a. Pub and The Dubliners are
playing an impromptu gig where it's small.
That kind of gig is absolutely fantastic, Yeah.

(01:06:45):
To see Madonna put on a show in Wembley, absolutely fantastic, I
bet. To see your favorite.
Band. Over and over again.
Doesn't matter which is. Do you know what I mean?
Or when they play your favorite song.
That's just every gig for me hasprobably been fantastic.

(01:07:06):
I do need to give a shout out toCrywink.
And I was just thinking about this when they opened.
For Lovejoy on the. Across the Pond tour, it was
just Jay and their acoustic. Guitar and.
They stood up there with just their guitar and just their
voice and gave an absolutely outstanding performance.

(01:07:30):
We saw them two nights in a row and each night they were
amazing. And you think about how somebody
could just stand up there with just this, their little old
acoustic guitar and and just sing their heart out.
I was so impressed. So, yeah, shout out to Drake, J
Krywink. They're a real one.
All right, guys. Think we're running short on
time. Here, I think we pick one word.

(01:07:51):
Juicy one, huh, Dad? What's for dinner tonight?
Wonder who asked that? What's for dinner, Dad?
To be honest, she's. Not here tonight.
So I. Expect she's having pizza or
pasta. How did we all meet?
I was doing the. Lovejoy band news.
Social media accounts and met Dave that way through messages

(01:08:12):
on Instagram, I believe. Yeah, Dave likes when I say he
slid into my DMS. Yeah, I mean, truthfully, you
introduced me. To Angie.
Oh, here we are now. Tis true tis.
Touch me in Instagram heaven. And honestly, that's how Leslie

(01:08:32):
and I met too. I think I just messaged you one
day for the heck of it, because I was.
Just so like. Blown away by your account.
I thought Angie was like a. Pseudo celebrity.
With her beautiful picture profile picture.
God, I was like, wow, is she gonna like, Oh my God, she
follows me. Honestly, I thought.

(01:08:55):
That I don't know. I just.
Knew from the start that you were like, special, like in the
fandom, like a legend, to be honest.
My gosh, you know it's funny because.
I kind of felt the same way about you.
I was like, who is this amazing person that is doing all this
stuff at a time when when you know, when anybody's afraid to

(01:09:16):
say anything? So I was like, I have to reach
out to her. I have to talk to her.
Cool. And now we're.
Just one big happy merry. Threesome.
Wait, that sounded really bad. Do not use that throuple.
These company. Dull.

(01:09:37):
Well, I was going. To say something, but.
It's gone, but yeah, don't. Just don't.
Forget I even ever said I'm no better than.
Some of these questions out here.
I know, she says. Anyway, moving on, let's go
because. We have so much to do in the

(01:09:58):
next two weeks. By the time you hear this, it'll
be a week probably with the single dropping June 20th.
What do we? Do as good.
Love enjoyers, how can we be thebest fans we can be right now?
Wilbur himself is asking us to all pre save.
With Rob as my witness, I pleasepre save it on all the

(01:10:19):
platforms. I was joining Deezer and other
things. Just to let you know.
Pre save in more than one place.Let's get everyone you know
around you to do the same. It really helps the band, as
Wilbur put it. The music you know in a
different, maybe different words.
The music execs. It makes them really happy to
see those pre saves. You all done it for James.

(01:10:41):
Marriott so you now need to do it for Lovejoy.
Good point, Dave, because. Wow, he blew up with that.
People really went all in for him.
And yeah, friend of Lovejoy, friend of Will, this is now
what's Will Stern he's asking. So pre saves now until the 20th
and purchase the song when it. Drops make sure.

(01:11:04):
You download it. Always be sharing, Always be
sharing. Yep, coin that ABS use their
music on your TikTok. Even if it's unrelated to
Lovejoy, use their music that really helps once the song is
out for. Sure, spread the word, get it
out there. I find every day when I mention

(01:11:26):
the debut album coming out, the music festival appearances, the
single dropping, I'm finding everyday new fans, former fans
that are just like, wait, what? Wait, wait where?
Tell me what's they missed it? You know, they, we got to make
sure everybody knows, get it outthere, spread the word, get that
song stuck in everyone's head and you know it will be a banger

(01:11:47):
and be stuck in your head once you hear it.
Have you have you noticed? How many followers or the amount
of followers have gone up on their socials?
You know, I haven't. How many people kind of coming
back? I've been sort of watching it
and then the next time you go onor something else, there's a few

(01:12:09):
thousand more. So, you know, but it's exactly
what you said. There are people.
What? What's going on?
Oh yeah. You know, they're like, wait,
there's still. Some people are like, oh.
They're still doing. Stuff.
Absolutely, yeah. I've noticed too.
Running down the list. All the things they've been
doing. I've noticed too on the.

(01:12:29):
Wiki page. Whenever the band makes an
announcement about something, those daily views spike.
It's crazy to see. It's insane.
And back to the sharing and saving and all that.
If we're talking about Spotify, a couple of the of the things
that the big wigs at Spotify really look for is how often
people share the song. So please go ahead.

(01:12:53):
If you're a Spotify user, share that link right from Spotify,
share it to your socials, share it as often as you can.
And like Leslie said, pre saves. They really, really look at pre
saves, pre saves sharing, makingplaylists.
If you make a playlist, make sure you include the song in it

(01:13:13):
once it drops. Those things are really huge.
As far as the people at Spotify that curate their own Spotify
branded playlist, they'll look at that data and they'll use
that to determine what they put in Spotify's actual.
Playlist. So make sure that you do that,

(01:13:34):
and I know Ash has done this before with Call Me What You
Like, He's asked people to do this.
But if you see a playlist on Spotify like Hot Hits UK or
something else like that, again that's created by Spotify, run
some of your plays through thoselists.
That really helps bring a spotlight on the song as well to

(01:13:57):
those execs at Spotify that are looking to see how the song is
doing. Good call, I like all these.
Little tick tips and tricks we'll have.
To have a A blog post for that and in addition to the normal
posting like crazy we do on all the accounts a go to place for
all that info and I know you've put out a really great post

(01:14:19):
already. A a really great graphic about
how to support Lovejoy music andyou had some really good points
on there. You know pre saves downloads,
shares and streams so and I'm sure you'll.
Be putting together. An official Lovejoy Nation
playlist right when the song drops.

(01:14:40):
Yeah, Yep, indeed. It'll be everywhere.
So thank you guys and we can count on you and Lovejoy's
counting on you for sure and getyour friends and family, anyone
sitting around you on the couch, just grab their phone or say do
this for me, please just click on this button.
Every little bit really helps. It really, really does.

(01:15:01):
Yeah, we are the soldiers. We have to do this if we all
work together at this. We can really do great things,
so I am really excited about thepossibilities here.
All right, King, that was a longepisode.
Thanks for sticking with us and I hope you enjoyed it as much as
we enjoyed laughing at ourselvesanswering these questions.

(01:15:24):
Until next time. By the next time we speak to
you, a lot of will have happened.
Summerfest, Czech Republic musicfestival.
Perhaps my trip, but if anythingbig should happen we could
always hop on right guys and do like a yeah short.
I've witnessed Rob. Yeah, you never know what's up.

(01:15:47):
I should leave. Absolutely keep an eye on.
Those socials all right, everyone have a great rest of.
Your day and thank you and sharethis podcast while you're at it.
Don't forget to follow Take care.
Bye. See ya.
