(00:00):
Hello love and Joyers and welcome to a special pop up mini
episode of the podcast. It's been an exciting week in
Lovejoy land and we wanted to hop on and discuss the music
video and the single drop with Rob as my witness.

(00:20):
So I think you guys probably heard the song before I did.
So what were your first impressions Dave?
You got it in UK before everybody.
Well, to be fair, I think we might have or myself and Angie
might have virtually listened toit at the same time being six
hours apart. What did I think?
OK, 6:00 this morning. I listened to it three times and

(00:40):
I'm, I'm not going to lie, I wasquite uncertain.
I did not dislike it, but I was quite uncertain.
I put it in a very small playlist up with normal People
Things and sober, and I've listened to that the three songs

(01:02):
back-to-back on the way home andif Rob just fits right in.
And from 6:00 AM this morning to3:00 PM this afternoon or 4:00
PM this afternoon, I now really, really like Rob.
Because if you stick it with them, two really works.

(01:25):
It really does work. And then of course, at what was
it 5:00 PM English time, we the video was dropped.
I've managed to watch it once because I've been so busy today.
I've been out and about in the New Forest, so I've only managed
to watch it once. Really like it can't pick up

(01:49):
details or whatever because I'veseen it once, not really studied
it. It was about 5 past five when
just after it dropped and I was literally going out the door at
5:10. You guys, I'm already sick of
the person that I've become since listening.
Can't tell you how much I love it, that riff, just that it's

(02:15):
been stuck in my head and my family hates me because I'm
singing that. I'm singing the chorus and that
bass line, that bass line, Ash, you are a God.
I just feel like everything fitstogether so perfect.
And Will's voice, the register that he is singing in in this

(02:38):
song is absolutely perfect for him.
I think it's kind of almost, yes.
It's kind of almost like a normal people things.
And when he hits those low notes, yeah.
It's just comfortable, it's so. Blind.
Oh good, it's so. Good, I like I am trying to be
unbiased which is. Hard but.

(03:01):
I really think that this song could do really, really, really
well. We, meaning you and me and Dave
and everybody that's listening, we're going to have to throw our
whole weight and support behind getting this thing the attention
it deserves. It's a freaking banger.

(03:22):
It's amazing. And the video, I love it.
What a great concept and Will does such a good acting job.
It was. It was give the guy an Oscar.
It's a fantastic fun to seem like that I'm.
I'm almost punch drunk because I'm so happy with this.
I I feel like the like the kool-aid man, I'm I can run
through a brick wall. How about you, Leslie?

(03:43):
We're in Brooklyn, NY right now,so if you hear a lot of traffic
noise in children and angry drunk people, that's why.
Apologies, I'm on location there's.
Not there's no sleep, no sleep and lots of dogs.
Anyway, I digress. The.
Song's great. I was bopping in my seat.
As my daughter can attest, that's always a win if I'm

(04:04):
bopping in my seat listening to it.
I love. And we got a little bit sound in
there that he likes to do now, you know what I'm saying?
Like normal people saying the first time you heard that normal
people things were you like, what the heck was that?
And now I love it, but it was weird at first.
Yeah. Yeah.
This is like new signature thing.
And then the music video. Watch it here in the park on my

(04:27):
phone twice through trying to absorb everything going on in
it. Like you all said, there's a lot
going on and you have guesses asto what the storyline is like.
Did he lose his money gambling? Now he has to box to make the
money back? Or did he lose a bet and now has
to box and he's totally not fit for boxing?
So I don't know what did you have an opinion on what the

(04:48):
story is? Did did you guess what I?
Guess I think I I like your ideafor the first storyline.
I feel like he lost a bunch of money and now he's got to like
get in the ring and try and and try and pay it back.
And the production, just the overall look and feel of it is
really yes. They've spent a lot of money on
that. Really, really good.

(05:08):
Really good. The lighting, cinematography,
like oh man. What I would say is a proper
music video. I heard I've seen a lot of
people say it's their favorite. I definitely like it more than
some of the others. I think production wise, this
one blows everything else out ofthe water and I like a lot of
their other videos, but I don't this one just doesn't even

(05:29):
compare, I don't think to anything else they've done Yeah
the. Production value, it's alone.
You know they're going to stepping up and up and up.
Yeah, normal people's things. I thought, oh they've spent a
bit of money but this is now gone up another 200%.
Yeah, it's cinematic. We had a fun idea for TikTok
videos. Last I saw, there were like 46

(05:51):
videos using the song for the theme idea that we were going to
ask folks to when sober came out, we said post your TikTok
videos using the song to get it going, to get it viral.
We're going to ask that you stick to.
But if you're looking for an idea, we had the idea of the
hashtag what Rob witnessed and your video could be tied to

(06:12):
that. I'm thinking people will show
their friends doing silly thingsor their pets or fan art or
anything and hashtag it what Robwitnessed and use that, use that
song to get it going. Spread.
I find when you have an open-ended option, it's actually

(06:33):
harder to come up with an idea. What do you think, Dave?
You like that? I know you're not Mr. TikTok.
It's a great idea, first time I've heard of it.
I know you have a chat when I'm asleep.
It's a great idea. Do it.
All right, yeah, we'll be posting it everywhere, and you
could post more than one. You all love the single.

(06:56):
Yeah, I'm digging it. I can hear it being on Alt
Nation. I'm going to request that it be
on Alt Nation top, you know, Alt18 of the week.
Everybody needs to do that. I think it'll fit right in.
It's catchy. It's I'm I'm.
Excited. Yes, and I posted a little bit
about this on Reddit 2 today. But if you've got a local alt

(07:16):
station in your area, or even ifyou don't and you want to adopt
an an adult or an ALT. Station, you got an adult.
Excuse me, yeah, adopt an adult, adopt an alt station somewhere
else in the US, Find a station like in my area.
I've got FM1O21 and Q1 O1 in Chicago.
Download their app. There's always a place on there

(07:37):
where you can type off a little message.
You know, please play Rob, you know, with Rob is My witness.
You can send them voice memos and you can usually even keep
track of their playlist. You can see what they've played
and if they're playing Rob, shoot them a quick message or
text. Most places you can text and
thank them. It's super easy and you don't

(07:57):
even have to listen to the radioto do it.
Just just download an app and and do it all from there.
It's easy and it's really helpful.
I've been keeping an eye on the airplay charts and seeing that
there's been a boom in airplay in the States, at least I'd
Lovejoy. So I'll get those stations out.
I'll let you know and and you, Dave too, because also thanking

(08:21):
them for playing them already. And hey, you're already playing
Lovejoy. Do you know there's this new
song, that sort of thing. Any bit of support, especially
radio stations, just like newspapers, they need some love.
And I think we might have a perhaps a list that we're going
to put out here at some point with some stations in the US
with like some contact info and text numbers and socials and

(08:45):
that sort of thing to make it a little easier.
Yeah, definitely want to make iteasy.
Make it so you can do a quick. Every little bit helps everyone
you know does 5. Some people do more.
Awesome. Everyone could do like a
handful. That'll make a difference for
sure. Yeah, and you've been doing a
great job, Leslie, getting stuffout there as far as graphics and

(09:08):
how to's and whatnot. So I know you've been really
busy. Thank you.
Apparently going to have to get ice cream in a minute.
But yeah, it's nice chatting with you and it's been fun and
exciting seeing all the excitement online as well on the
Reddit and in the comments. That's another thing.
Leave comments, positive comments everywhere you can.

(09:29):
Even Wilbur posted to his stories today.
Share the love. Yeah, I'm going to sit down and
catch up with everything. Literally come home and jumped
on. So Reddit wise, no clue.
Very. Good.
So thanks for joining us, and I think Leslie's going to dart off

(09:52):
and get her ice cream now. Yeah, and make sure you keep an
eye on Lovejoy Nation's officialwebsite, lvjynation.com.
We got a blog post it and put upthat's chock full of information
and all good juicy stuff to really give this song its boost.
And Congrats to James Marriott from #1 in the UK and.

(10:13):
Good for. Him, hopefully.
Lovejoy's next. Hell, we'll take #2 you know.
Happy everybody as. Friend of as Friend of the band,
Yeah, busting his butts. And now we've got to bust our
butts too. Yeah, if.
Everybody does a little bit. We can do it.
All right, I'm going to stop yapping now because it's time to
go all. Right.

(10:33):
Take care, Angie, Dave and the rest of you guys.
Get off of this and get to it. Take care.
Bye.
