SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
well hello and welcome to low five gaming we

(00:11):
are having a funeral a happyfuneral a remembrance for our
dearest of friends the nintendoswitch yes the switch is swan
song yeah we're still playinggames we're still big dorks uh
but we're not good at umcommitment Nor intros.
This is low five gaming andyou've got your host...

(00:34):
Luke and Alex.
Nice.
Me being Alex, this being Luke.
What up, bro?
What up, what up, what up, whatup?
I was in the middle of a deeprant that you need to let me
finish.
Please continue.
But the Switch 2 is out and weare not going to buy a Switch 2.
We can get into that later.
Yet.
I mean, I'll get one eventually.
I'm sure we'll both own oneeventually.
But this is more of a, justthinking back, one of my

(00:54):
favorite all-time, if not myfavorite all-time console is
probably the Switch.
So I was like, as the Switch 2comes out, instead of
celebrating the new hardware, Ikind of want to think of on i
want to yearn i want to waxromantic i can dig it dude so
this is another switch this isanother low five top five yeah
the switch version switch butspecifically the switch games to

(01:16):
define the system right for usfor us our experience i'm not
gonna put that in the in thetitle for seo purposes but you
know you know i understand thosewords um Yeah, so I was thinking
and I was just like, this is notmy five favorite games on the
Switch.
That list would look similar, but not.
It's more just like...

(01:38):
When I think back of the Switch, good or bad, what are games that
will define my time with it?
There's not too many rules.
I think one of the only thingsI'd say is I'm personally not
going to include any of the NSOstore emulation games.
Did you?
It's funny that you brought thatup because as I was figuring out
mine, I was like, NSO?

(01:58):
Would that count?
I'm just going to throw it outthere right now as an honorable
mention because I think the NSOis important to the Switch.
I spent a decent amount of timeplaying some of the old n64
games and some of the we playeda few pods like i think metroid
i play on there it was like acool tool sure it's definitely
part of the story i was excitedwhen those got released so it's

(02:19):
worth mentioning for sure yeahdude so today we are recording
in june june 11th i believesomething like that june 10th
june 11th confirmed right on11th but the switch came out in
march 3rd 2020 17, brother.
It's 2025 right now.
Long times ago.
Long times ago.
Dude, that's wild.

(02:39):
That's a different man then.
Eight, nine years?
Something like that?
Yeah.
Dude, that's a long life.
Yeah, it's abnormally long for asystem.
It's Nintendo-y as hell becauseit just exists in its own little
Nintendo pocket.
And also, I think productionchain...
chip shortage nonsense delayedsure it's life but it also sold

(03:00):
like a motherfucker the wholetime they did so why would you
let go of this beautiful cashcow they did some interesting
things with that along the waytoo like you've got your
original launch system with thelcd screen you've got the switch
light which came out a coupleyears after the the first uh
their original launch i believeyeah uh and then eventually we
got the switch oled which iYou've never tasted.

(03:23):
No, it's a luxury more than anovelty.
Once you go to L.A., you don'tgo back.
Sure.
I'm a tech toy guy, though, youknow?
Yeah.
And, you know, my old Steamy,it's not dirty.
Edit that out.
Don't tell my...
nintendo switch about mymistress the steamy d dog that's
part of this though that's likepart of that's part of why i'm

(03:45):
not like yearning for a switchto is the steamy d did come in
and kind of fill that that thevoid that i feel that switch to
fills i would say that nintendorevolutionized the handheld with
the switch which it did but it'salso kind of funny because
nintendo's always had thatmarket they just found a way to
like modernize it's like theybrought the handheld gaming into

(04:06):
just regular gaming i actuallysaw an article about this and i
didn't read it so i read Not aheadline.
This is the most 2025 shitpossible.
For sure, for sure.
And some Batac comment onReddit.
I can't even credit thepublication because I just
scrolled right by.
But it did hit, though.
It was probably Kotaku orsomething.
But the person who was writingthere, writing about how they

(04:27):
yearn for handheld gaming whenit was its own thing.
I disagree.
Because now...
but maybe i understand it beinglike a big game boy head and
like you know having all myhandheld like you know that
there was a time when developersspecifically made games right
all the way up and to honestlythis well sony did some things
that like kind of brought thehandheld world into like kind of

(04:50):
like their their psv doesprobably but that was a bit of a
flop so like nintendo truly likeknocked it out of the water like
bringing it bringing uh bringinglike system uh games to to your
hands i would say the switchre-sparked my joy of gaming
because i was coming out ofcollege and i did have a ps4 and

(05:12):
just the switch came along andlike really sparked kind of an
obsessive little streak yeahthat remains a bit to this day
yeah And it's so funny.
I told you earlier, we'llprobably start off with...
Because I don't think we'd bepodcasting about video games if
it wasn't for the Switch, to behonest.
100%.
And we'll go over all of ourSwitch games that we've potted

(05:34):
about later.
But just the general story ofgetting the Switch, I didn't
know.
I was never a Wii guy.
Controversially.
I am, but only like, you know, Ionly bought one probably three
months ago.
Just got himself a Wii.
No, when the Wii came out, Ithought it was cool and there
were some fun games.
I had a friend growing up.

(05:55):
We'd go over to his house andplay it.
I thought it was fun and cool, but I actually always hated the
motion controls.
I was always like, it was like agimmick where like our Uncle Jim
had a fucking Wii, dude.
Yeah, no, for sure.
Like just random people wouldhave like everybody had a Wii.
That's like a trope.
Like the not that Uncle Jim notsinging you're fucking in a
nursing home but like for surebut you know the we in the

(06:15):
nursing home is like uncle jimis furious right now uh yes but
like Your mom's friend had aWii.
Right, right.
But I loved the GameCube.
I loved the GameCube.
Which didn't sell GameBusters,actually.
Which is crazy.
They had so many slappers onthat system.
But you can actually play...
This doesn't fucking matter, butyou can play GameCube games on

(06:37):
the Wii.
Dude, the Wii was fucking dope.
Yeah.
No, I've actually heard peopleare pissed that the Wii's shop
never really...
The Switch...
didn't do it quite as good astime will tell though i do feel
that from what i've heardrumblings the switch 2 will
likely bring life to a lot ofthe like motion control wii
stuff that oh word yeah uh whati was gonna say though is that i

(06:58):
didn't even know when the wii ucame out yeah same so like when
people tell stories about likepeople being confused i slept on
the 3ds as well which also inever did the handhelds but i
digress like um I remember Kevwas like, I bought a Wii.
And I was like, what's this padthing?
And then I don't even know if heknew and he bought it.
I don't think he knew that hebought technically a brand new

(07:20):
system.
Sure.
So when they talk about peoplebeing confused, is this
necessary?
Is this new?
100% true.
So I bring all this up to saythat I was not like...
when the switch was gettingreleased, I wasn't like super
hyper fixated.
Like, Oh my God, new systemcoming out once Nintendo got up
their sleeve.
I was a hundred percent sleepingon Nintendo.
Now let's see.

(07:41):
2017 is what we said, right?
So you would have been, youwould have been a college
graduate, correct?
Yeah, I was in.
Yeah.
It's a full on, full on adult.
I was in like, uh, I want to sayit was the first summer of,
outside of teaching so like okayi had a full full year under my
belt i was entering my secondyear this is so long ago i don't

(08:04):
exactly remember the like thehype cycle or even the first
announcement but i do know iwanted one i do know that like
well the want is funny becausepart of the want was the fact
that nobody could get them rightright dude and we were And we,
and then all these, I wasstarting to listen to podcasts
around this time.
Okay.
And, uh, I'll shout them outcause they're cease there since

(08:24):
they no longer exist.
But I remember fondly listeningto achievement oriented.
Right on.
Which is through the ringer.
It's Ben Lindbergh.
And at the time, JasonConcepcion and some others would
cycle in and out.
But, uh, They were talking and Iwas just listening to various
people's podcasts about Breathof the Wild specifically.
And I was just like...
Dude, the Switch was the Zeldamachine for a while.

(08:46):
I was starting to get real hornyfor that.
And I...
Your story's funny.
I'll start off with Aces,actually.

SPEAKER_01 (08:56):
Boing.
Boing.

SPEAKER_00 (08:58):
Ace was calling like every target in a certain mile
radius.
Dude, I was calling best milesand shit too.
For like a few weeks.
And then I want to say it waslike West St.
Paul had one.
He's like, all right, see you in10, 15.
And he just drove out and hebought one.
And I think this part I don'tremember, but I think he might
have got one of the lessdesirable colorways.
That was a thing.
That was a real thing.
I think that's what happened toyou, is it not?

(09:20):
Yeah, kind of.
You had the gray one, your firstone?
No.
Oh, you had the blue and red?
I had the option.
I had, because I...
like a

SPEAKER_01 (09:27):
spoing, I

SPEAKER_00 (09:28):
would, uh, I would like go to target just to see if
they, they had it in the stock.
I would call targets.
I would call best buyers to seeit.
And they'd be like, nah, bro,I've never done this by the way.
Like I've never like chased aconsole.
It's always just been availableto buy.
And that's where we get them.
I don't even remember why I wasout.
Like I was out in like one ofthe like closer ring suburbs or

(09:48):
whatever, uh, doing somethingwith my wife, like I picking her
up or something.
And I was waiting and I lookedup on my phone to see the
closest, like, targets and bestbuys and called them to see if
they had a switch and theydidn't.
But that's the level of how Iwas trying to cop one of these
things.
And all you heard was Mario Kartwas like, hey, it slaps on
there.

(10:09):
And you're like...
the fucking Zelda game.
Like you need to play it.
It's going to change everythingfor you.
It's crazy.
And we were Zelda launch gamebreath of the wild.
Yes.
Okay.
It was like a simultaneous asfar as you could play it on the
way you too.
Oh, that's right.
That's right.
Um, but we, you know, we'reZelda boys and I hadn't played a
Zelda game like in ages.
So I was just like super hungryfor it and super into it.

(10:32):
And I was a, you had one, I hadplayed it at your house and, I
had the Switch before you?
Yeah.
Oh, word.
Yeah, yeah.
Because you were showing meZelda, and then you ran into one
of the Yiga clans.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And you were trying to show me.
You were like, oh, fuck.
And you got it set up in chair.
Because you were pretty earlyon, and you were trying not to

(10:53):
get spanked.
Because it was the first twominutes after showing me the
game.
Yes, sir.
So that was hilarious.
But I was like the dog who hadbeen like, I wasn't at the same
level as you.
as far as trying to hunt itdown.
But my wife's always trying togo to Target.
Part of bringing up the story ofhow hard they were to find, it
was disheartening.
If you know you can't get oneanywhere, why even bother?

(11:16):
Yeah, so I would just...
My wife would be, like, going toTarget, and I'd be like, oh,
yeah, we can go to Target.
She'd be like, you want to comewith?
Like, usually you're yelling atme for going to Target all the
time.
I was like, do you need to getanything at Target?
And I would just run over there.
And then one day it was there, and I felt like the dog who,
like, caught up with the car.
And I'm like, the fuck do Iactually do with this thing?
A lot of F words for me today.

(11:36):
I'm going to settle down.
Some of being in person got meriled up.
Woo! Woo! But anyway, so I gotit.
And then it's so funny.
I was kind of laughingbecause...
The first game I got was MarioKart.
Oh, word, yeah.
It wasn't even Zelda because Ineeded to like...
Was it a pack-in or did you buyit?
Dude, I bought it and my theorywas like...

(11:57):
Cause we, you know, I was like ayear out of college to play.
Yeah.
And I was not like thedisposable income wasn't there.
Sure.
Right.
So like, I'm just about to dropa few hundred on something we
definitely don't need.
So I was like, but babe, we'llplay together.
So my first game, was it likethree 50 at the time?
Three 50.
I want to say, you know, 300with getting a game like that.
Yeah, probably.

(12:18):
So 17, but yeah, so Mario cartwas actually my first game and I
got it and I brought it home andwe played it and I was super
pumped.
So that's my story.
Uh, I like, like how your storyof how you got your switch on it
because it's the silliest dogside yeah i like you said i've
been trying to find one all overthe place wasn't gonna buy one
second hand or not second handbut like uh the second hand
market uh because fuck that dudethe scalpers yeah i mean we

(12:42):
wanted one but we weren't likegonna pay through the nose yeah
for sure for sure but so i wasdoing the whole target thing
calling around doing a littlebit of that definitely wanted
one finally found there was oneleft at target and it was like
the gray color way and i waslike oh but i really want like
the like dude you're buryingyou're burying the funniest
detail no no hold up dude i'mnot done okay so i really so i

(13:06):
was sitting there looking at itand then another customer came
up and like like swooped in andgot it and i was like okay okay
i guess that's meant to be likei'm just not meant to buy it i
guess like also fuck you guyyeah but like whatever you know
uh so my wife and i go onvacation to hawaii yeah dude
we're in hawaii and we go toTarget to buy some things or

(13:28):
stay in an Airbnb.
I got to stock up.
Dude, the Hawaii Target wasflush with Nintendo Switches.
I was like, baby, what if thiswas my souvenir from Hawaii?
She was like, send it, dude.
Just go for it.
She's probably heard you fuckingtalking about it.
She knew I wanted one.
She knew I was trying to getone.
When you're in vacation mode, there's two types of vacation

(13:50):
mode.
There's like, I can't spend anymore money.
This has been so expensive.
Then there's the I'm onvacation.
Dude, I'm on vacation plus Ialready wanted the thing.
Like, dude, so I bought it.
But a Switch on vacation ishilarious.
Dude, dude, and then like tohave it in box, like in box,
like underneath my, like on theplane ride, like, you know, like
coming home with my Switch, Iwas so happy.
Were you not rocking it on theplane?

(14:12):
I think I was, but I had the boxand everything, you know.
Oh, sure, sure.
Dude, just wild.
But that's how I got the Switch.
I got a Hawaii Switch.
Nice.
Unfortunately, I don't have thatlaunch Switch anymore.
You had to upgrade.
I sold it.
I sold it for the OLED Which Idon't feel bad about.
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's afun story.
But yeah, they got the HawaiiSwitch back in 2017.

(14:34):
And it was the Zelda machine atthe time.
It's funny, dude, like thenow...
in the year of our Lord 2025,people talk about how vast and
amazing the Switch library is.
Yeah.
But back in 2017 when itdropped, dude, it was like a
drought.
There was like, you had Zelda,it was a Zelda machine, and you
had Mario Kart, and it was like, what else are you going to play?

(14:57):
So we'll actually get into that.
Fuck me in the ass.
Yeah.
You might have bought some sillygames.
Transition to my first...
game on my list and i it has tobe on yours we just get it out
of the way sure so one of mineis breath are you gonna hold up
hold on i'm doing mine low fivetop five low five top five you
can do it like five to one oneto five what's your plan here

(15:19):
mine are like semi chronologicalbecause they tell they tell
little stories about littletrends that i had in little
moments yeah we're a littleWe're a little scattershot.
That's all right.
Let's just call it that.
So I'll just do five.
Cool.
No, we'll do one.
This is one.
This is the first.
This is my first love.
So I already said that.
So I played Mario Kart for likea week or two.

(15:41):
And then I was like, all right,it's going to stop.
Let's stop pretending like thisis why I bought this system.
So I went and got Zelda and wasjust immediately obsessed.
I've told it too many times onthe pod.
Don't care.
I still find it absolutelyhilarious to just myself that
like I was summer breaking andAnd I was, I would play, I'd
wake up, the wife would get up,go to work and I'd just start

(16:04):
grinding handheld.
And then I'd put it in the TVand then I'd play all day.
And then I'd put it in the TV,like in the early afternoon for
sure.
Cause then when she'd get homefrom work, it'd be charged
because like, I kid you not dudeit'd be like 10-15 minutes of
like small talking about yourday and I'd be like well I've

SPEAKER_01 (16:22):
been busy all

SPEAKER_00 (16:23):
day might as well play Yoda for the first time
totally and then I'd rock likeanother few hours before bed and
like I'd bring it into bed causelike of course this is like the
first time dude if I could livein that I'd love to time travel
for like a day but usually forlike cooler things than this but
this has gotta be like torecapture that level of

(16:45):
obsession I think is I have beenchasing that high since like no
game has even tears of thekingdom could not i get a little
taste of that but i know whatyou're saying like never fall on
like just my day is this and i'mno yeah for sure and then like
if you want to talk likezeitgeist like just introducing
it to other people getting otherpeople to play uh talking to

(17:07):
them about it all these likespecific memories and the noises
and like it just made me it justmade me obsessed dude And I was
just so I was laying in bed andthen my arms would get numb
because laying down and likeholding up your switch,
especially before they came outwith the fancy switch bras that
we like to use.
Yeah.
Like it was so bad.
And then I'd be like, my handswould be feeling weird and it'd

(17:28):
be running low on battery.
And I'd be like, I woke up andplayed this, played it all day,
took like small breaks to likedo dishes.
So I didn't look like I playedthis all day.
And then I'm like, she's asleepand I'm still playing this
thing.
So loved it.
Hell of a game.
Uh, the avid listener will knowthat I think the legend of Zelda
breath of the wild, uh, ismaybe, is that not on my top 10

(17:51):
of all time?
You might've done somethingfunky, uh, Yeah, like an
honorable mention or something.
It certainly worked into...
Anyways, it is one of the bestgames of all time.
We know this.
It's one of the best games ofall time.
People called this thing theZelda machine when it first came
out.
It was just a Zelda machine.
And that game is also on mylist.

(18:12):
I was going to hold that fornumber one, but now it's out
there.
Yeah.
And that's just it, dude.
Like, Breath of the Wild, like,I look so, just kind of like you
do, I look so fondly back onthose, like, just the amount of
discovery.
And Nintendo, like, and this iswhy I made this particular list,
like, games that defined theSwitch for us, because it broke

(18:36):
everything I knew about well imean like the function of zelda
like totally it was like having

SPEAKER_01 (18:41):
sex

SPEAKER_00 (18:45):
i lost my virginity breath of the wild dude right
right what i'm trying to say islike i mean zelda's always got
like the the lore of zelda'salways like a cyclical like it's
always kind of the same storybut it did shift that a little
bit but like it took you know itdude this is not ocarina of time
it is not Majora's Mask.
It is not linked to the past.

(19:06):
This game went full-on 3D andjust, I don't know, it was like
Zelda Skyrim, only better.
Yeah.
I'll never forget just staringat the map and being like...
Crazy map, dude.
There's gotta be something cool.
So many articles back in the dayabout just the idea of seeing
something on the horizon andthen being intrigued by it and

(19:26):
going to see what's up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
spend hours like not evenplaying the game just i mean
playing the game but like notfollowing the storyline right
yeah and it just changed like alot of open worlds fill you with
tasks and they try to fill thoseopen worlds with different
things to do zelda's it's handsdown it's got things i just mean
like hands down it's the bestever maybe like red dead could

(19:50):
rival it red dead 2 but justbest ever in terms of like i
personally believe you're justderping dude you're just Just
fucking around.
I personally believe that like, and it's, it's because it came
up first and I, I kind of view,um, tears as like a continuation
of one.
It's like, you know, it's hardto be like tears is better.
I mean, there's things abouttears that is better, but like,

(20:10):
well, it's worth bringing up.
Cause like all, you know, ifwe're talking about like, you
know, all your buddies playingit, you're talking to people
about it.
Like it was a cultural thing.
It was kind of the same thingwith tears of the kingdom, but
like, it just couldn't,recapture that eye of that brand
new new so like my friends werestill playing it i was still
talking to people about it atwork but it just didn't really

(20:32):
it was better for the internetsure as far as like memes and
contraptions and content rightright uh but just pure
experience nothing's i don'tknow of anything it's it's like
ocarina of time when i was a kidman it's just like this changes
all games moving forward so ihave a i have a follow-up Or do
you want to jump in?

(20:53):
No, I don't want to go for it.
All right.
You've touched on it a fewtimes, so I just wanted to get
out of the way.
The second game that defines mytime with a Switch is Shovel
Knight.
Oh, okay.
And if you're like, the hell?
You went third party.
Nice.
Well, here's the deal.
There was a Darth of games.
There was Mario Kart and Zelda.
There might have been like aport or something else.

(21:14):
My memory is a little foggy andI didn't want to do any fucking
research.
The research I did do, though,is I logged on to my Nintendo
account online and I lookedthrough my purchase history
because I had a feeling it wastrue, but I just wanted to
confirm.
My first purchased...
third-party game was ShovelKnight.
Digital cards now or whateverthey call them.
Yeah, that's quite literally.

(21:36):
I was like, what the fuck isthis?
And I was hoping it'd have mywhole play history so I could
see hours and stuff like that, but in the time I was looking,
there was nothing thatconvenient or straightforward.
But Shovel Knight, I think Ibought it because of Jason
Schreier's book and I read aboutYacht Club games.
And in, I think, his newer book,or maybe it was that book, he
talks about how A lot of games, good or bad, just got a

(21:57):
completely new life on theSwitch because there was just
this pocket of like...
Odyssey came out in September orOctober.
Okay, yeah.
So that was like the one.
And then you had Odyssey...
So you had Mario Kart, Zelda, and then Super Mario Odyssey.
And then they were reasonablystretched out.
And then there was like nothing.
There was like Kirby StarAlliances in the spring.

(22:20):
So there was like a long timebefore you had like an absolute
banger to lean into.
So I picked Shovel Knight as theofficial selection.
But what Shovel Knightrepresents is me playing way
more indies than I've everplayed before.
all the way up to, like, Hades2.
Yeah, once folks started to beable to figure out how to, you
know, or were able to, and thenwhatever to port and develop for

(22:41):
the Switch, like, there was aton of indies that came.
Yeah, and I, like, had thoughtabout it, and I was like, those
indies were available on thePlayStation 4 store.
I just, there's something aboutthe Switch that made those
games.
Yeah, and it's, like, the styleof those games being, like,
retro-leaning.
But Shovel Knight's a greatgame, but, like, if you look at

(23:01):
hours played, like, why didn't Imention Stardew Valley?
Why didn't I mention Hades 2,which is like literally in my
top 10 games of all time.
Hades 1 or Hades 2?
Oh, I meant Hades 1.
Yeah, yeah.
It's like literally in one of mytop games of all time.
And it's just like Shovel Knightrepresents a game I played and
was like really into and reallycool that was like an opening of

(23:21):
a door to a bunch of other gamesthat I spent a career.
Like I think most of the time onmy Switch ends up actually being
third party.
Nice.
Like indie.
Nice.
Yeah.
I can dig it.
shovel knight that's a solid onehave you ever played yeah but
not like all the way throughyeah it's it's hilariously up
your alley yeah i know i knowbeing yeah it's like alex kota

(23:43):
to the extreme the soundtrackslaps uh yacht club has a new uh
howling mina or something likethat it's got a new like zelda
light game coming out like itsure does zelda so i'll be i'll
be excited for that probablypick it up on my steamy d though
yeah fair fair yeah all right sowhat do you got for your second
The second game that I'llmention because we've messed up

(24:03):
my planned order.
Yeah, it's almost like we couldcommunicate, but who doesn't
appreciate a little wholesomechaos?
I'm going to throw Super SmashBros.
Ultimate out there.
I'm glad you did because it wasoff my list, but I was going to
have to honorable mention it.
Now, this game, I'm not likea...

(24:25):
The reason that it made...
the quintessential, this gamedefined the system for me.
It's not because I love thisgame.
Don't get me wrong either.
I thoroughly enjoyed it when itfirst came out.
And I still enjoy playing itfrom time to time.
Well, I was like, the reasonthat it's on there is for the
multiplayer aspect.
Mario Kart 8 is not on my list.

(24:46):
Now, I was going back and forthbetween the two because I wanted
a multiplayer game on there.
And Mario Kart 8 is dope.
But it also was available on theWii U or whatever.
They've done so much additionsand stuff, it's kind of like a
Switch game.
And to be honest, it's moreapproachable, way more

(25:07):
approachable for folks thataren't gamers.
So if I'm going to play with mywife, Mario Kart, send it.
Mario Party, send it.
But what was really cool aboutSmash Bros.
for me was the hype around itin...
the community around it and thenjust like being excited for its
release and then playing onlinewith you and get my ass whooped.

(25:29):
I've played like in tournamentswith some of the podcast
community.
Shout out to Mikey for puttingthose together.
got my ass whooped there bet iprobably would have too uh dude
at your uh at your bachelorparty i was gonna mention it
there's lots of smash happeningdude we smashed it we smashed a
ton the wife the soon-to-be wifeworried about what they're doing

(25:49):
at the bachelor party i'm justcrushing smash bros with bros
but that's what's up you know inthat game i feel like it like i
you kind of touched on itearlier like the we even though
i have one now and like you knowthat that era of smash like i
never i never got like straightup into like i played them but
I've never been like there'ssmash heads out there there's
people that do smash tournamentslike yeah but this game super

(26:10):
approachable great like set ofcharacters like I loved that
like I don't even know you'dcall it but the overworld thing
that they did it was like kindof like moving around and like I
like the single player I likethe single player aspect of it
like I got good with a couple ofdifferent players like I put in
hell of time when it came outand I think that it's important
like I wanted it on a listbecause it's important for me to

(26:32):
represent like the communalaspect of the Switch somehow.
Because that's such an importantpart of this system.
And Nintendo's ethos forever.
They want people to playtogether for better or for
worse.
I struggled because my hype forthis game was...
too high sure i constantly jokedwith my student because i teach

(26:55):
in middle school so definitelyup the smash bros alley i
constantly joked leading to itsbecause the year it was coming
out i was like all right i hopeyou guys enjoy this class up
until like i think it was likedecember october i was like when
i will be retiring to play smashbros yeah they're like i was
like i'm gonna be a streamer andthey're like what's your stream
name and i was like stall daddy10 000 nice and uh We all

(27:18):
laughed, and then a kid actuallycalled me that, and I was like,
don't fucking call me that.
Just running around theprincipal's like, why are they
calling you Stall Daddy?
I can't have you calling me anyversion of Daddy at all.
Fucking stop that, bro.
And he thought it was so funny, and I was like, yeah, Stall God
10,000.
Do that.
And then, like you mentioned, the bachelor party, we had a big

(27:39):
old TV, and it was just like, you know, you can up the chaos
in Smash Bros, where even if yousuck, you just, you know.
Shout out to the homie Jimmy, who had me over not too long
ago.
Love that.

(28:01):
Somebody just kind of swept thefloor with us, you know?
So like, there's definitely likelevels of like, yeah.
And then at school ones, we likehad like a goofy day.
I don't remember what the dealwas, but someone brought a
switch and a doc.
We slapped it on one of the bigold TVs in the room and we were
just in and out of the roomrunning different tournaments.
And it was tight.
It was just another one of thosemoments where you just got a
couple of dudes in a switch, youknow, bring your controllers

(28:22):
brother.
And we were, we were jumping.
And I remember the buddy hog, abrief shout out, fucking scolded
me because it was like a one Vone situation.
And I like, baby, basically ididn't trust the person to not
use the item so i just like ranto the item and used it and that
murdered him and he was like thefuck is that it's like that's
not how you play and in my headi was like so ashamed because i

(28:42):
was like you're right but i waslike i didn't know he knew i
didn't know he had the decorumthough yeah yeah for sure i
don't even think it was him thati beat either he just looked at
me and discussed like and if youknew this dude he'd be funny
like he's not a confrontationalguy so it was just kind of like
to this day i'm like man i can'tbelieve i was I polished myself
in his eyes.
My honor, my gaming honor wascalled in question that day, and

(29:05):
the person was right.
It's just in the rules ofengagement, dude.
I didn't know they knew therules of engagement, so I just
had to win.
That's clowning.
Yeah.
Another cool thing about Smashthat kind of like lays in even
or leans in even further to thewhole like defines the system
for me is like a ton of folksthat really love smash and love
smash on the game cube likebought the game cube controller

(29:26):
peripheral like the third partyperipheral i think they may even
have for i don't remember forsure but like you can buy you
can buy a game cube controlleryeah that works with um with the
switch or whatever and peopledid that specifically for smash
there's like branded smashcontrollers so that's like
another thing the peripheralsnintendo's always been big on
their peripherals and that'sanother little piece a small one
it kind of teases me Maybe whatI'm going to say next.

(29:47):
Oh, well, if you're ready to go.
All right.
Shoot.
So this game.
Another big peripheral game.
Not Wii Fit, not Wii Fit, RingFit Adventure or whatever, which
I do have.
Yeah, you had to.
It was kind of dope.
Yeah, you had to.
I mean, it's the, yeah.
No, the game I do want to shoutout, though, for this list, and

(30:09):
I went back and forth, but whenI really thought about it and
for games that define thesystem, for me, it's that Mario
Kart Live Home Circuit.
Now, I have not put hours oftime in the home circuit.
Was that the toy?
Yeah.
Yeah, that thing's hilarious.
Dude.
I forgot that came out.
That thing's fucking cool,though.
It's so cool.
I remember setting that up.
It's so cool.
And that's like probably themost joy I've had because I have

(30:30):
a Switch and a Switch Lite.
I won the Switch Lite onInstagram.
Someone was doing like a raffle.
Yeah.
So, you know, I don't know.
I had to like, I guess people,whatever.
I don't need to justify myfucking systems.
Yeah, I don't know where this isgoing.
But I have two of them.
And that's just the thing.
Like, this is...
I guess I'm laying thegroundwork for the idea that
this is ridiculous.

(30:51):
That grown man has two switchesand then this little peripheral
car that drives on the ground.
I have Luigi and Mario.
It's the shit you dream of as akid and you're like, I'll never
be able to afford all that.
Mom and dad ain't got no timefor that shit.
When you're an adult, you'relike, I'm in fucking charge now.
If you look at my playtime onHome Circuit or whatever, I'm
sure it's like two, three hours.

(31:12):
It's not very long.
Two, three hours of which hasbeen spent showing it to other
people being like, that's what'sup though.
that's what's up though likethat's what's so cool like look
at it go under the chair dudethat's so cool that's what's so
cool though dude it's like soyou got these like I remember
ripping it in the basement inRosewood yeah that's what I'm
saying it was fun to bring itover to your spot Winston was
chasing it Murph was like thefuck is this witchcraft for sure

(31:33):
I brought it to Brunson's shoutout Brunson's pub and we like
played like up in the upstairslike after hours dude like so
fun being able to set this thingup people be like what the heck
is this and then play and likebe able to like do like live in
person marks cart.
Like, dude, what a dopeperipheral.
Like, and for me, that helps tofind the system.
That's hilarious.

(31:54):
Totally forgot you had that.
Where is it in the office?
I don't even...
The carts are in the closet.
You bought two of them, too, didn't you?
I got Mario and Luigi.
I got Luigi on discount, though,I think.
That's out of control.
But that's just it, dude.
And, like, it's so funny, man.
Like, who knows if he'll evencare when he's, like, old enough
to fuck with it.
But, like, dude, I am, like, chopping at the bit to...

(32:17):
like be able to play that withElton.
Love that.
Um, Because that's part of thejoy, dude.
Setting up the circuit andwhatever.
Yeah, I'm a grown-ass man.
I can do that and have a littlebit of fun doing it.
But it's fun.
And that's what the cool part, though, is being able to share
that with him eventually, beingable to share that with you back
in the day, being able to sharewith all the homies at

(32:37):
Brunson's, dude.
That was dope to be able toshare that experience.
So cool.
Respect that.
All right.
So next on my semi-chronologicallist was the game I was perhaps
most hyped for.
disappointed by yet loved.
So it's this weird, it's thisweird thing where it could never
meet my expectations.
There's things where if I thinkabout it to this day, there's

(32:59):
such massive missed potential, but I played a bunch of it and I
adore it.
And it also fits my theme of it.
It represents a bunch of othergames.
Well, a select few.
So the game is Mario golf.
Oh yeah.
See, that was, I told with thatone.
And in my head, it kind of pairsnicely with my time spent with
Mario Tennis, which was actuallysuper solid.

(33:22):
Okay.
Liked Mario Tennis a lot.
Yep.
And played a decent amountonline, which is very strange
for me.
I'm a super anti-online gamer.
Playing randoms?
Yeah, playing randoms.
One time a dude was like, wantto be my friend on Switch?
And I was like, sure.
After he beat me in Tennis.
It was close games, though.
I'm just saying.
Sure.
And then he had like 700 hoursin Fortnite.

(33:44):
And I was like, you're not myguy.
And I unfriended himimmediately.
I was like, I'm not going tolike, what am I?
It was whatever, right?
It's not good.
So Mario Tennis was sweet.
Mario Golf.
Mario Golf on the GameCube waslike one of my favorite games.
And I was like obsessed with it.
GameCube Mario Golf is amazing.
It's amazing.
And maybe the only reason I'llget a Switch 2 is to play Mario

(34:05):
Golf on it.
Right on.
GameCube.
But the action, the actual golfsimulation is excellent.
Yeah.
Are you talking about?
The current.
Super Rush.
For the Switch, yes.
I liked the Super Rush modes.
Not practical, but for work.
I wish they would have justleaned into Super Rush.
So what they did with theGameCube, like, but whatever.

(34:26):
I'm getting there.
I'm getting there.
Yeah.
No, like we had like some, awork retreat, we call it, where
basically a bunch of dudes justget an Airbnb and we had Nerf
gun fights and drank beers andate too much food.
It's great time.
Um, We were playing just a tonof Mario Golf the first one we
did.
Beers, bros, and banging.
We talked about this.
But it was like a great...
It's kind of similar to what youwere saying with Smash Bros and

(34:48):
what we were talking aboutthere, but it was like a really
good communal game once again.
I played that one online a lottoo.
I just loved the golf simulationwith it.
I will never forgive them forcreating bland ass courses.
Yeah.
And I'll never understand whythey were like, no, so you could
also do...
the Super Rush stuff, which theSuper Rush stuff was kind of fun

(35:10):
when you're in a group settinglike that, but when you're just
chilling at your house alone.
Let me just play a golf set.
When you're hanging out with abunch of dudes.
But I feel you, dude.
This game almost made my list, too.
So much missed potential, butalso was really good.
I was a ravenous dog for thatgame.
Like it was so like, it couldnever meet those expectations,
but I'll never forgive them fornot having courses.
I just don't understand.
They could have tried like justa little bit harder, but you

(35:32):
know what you just make coursesthat are golf courses that are
super goofy and like Mariothemed.
I thought that's what we werehere for.
Not like bland.
This is the desert track.
This is the, and like Mario cartdoes it.
It was just so weird to me thatthey didn't lean into that.
If I recall, they were leaninginto this whole Breath of the
Wild map style where it's onebig area and they try and weave

(35:54):
in.
It's like, I don't know,whatever.
And then they, in my opinion, they just kind of gave up on it.
Do you not think so?
It could have had a really longtail, and they were like, no,
it's good.
It's sold.
It's fine.
The numbers must not have beenthere.
Maybe not, but it was cool.
I would log in.
I forget if it was monthly orweekly.
I think it was weekly.
You'd get a different characterskin if you played online

(36:15):
enough, so I was doing that allthe time.
I wasn't good, but I won a fewtournaments.
It was pretty cool.
We got some good matches goingwhen we went out to Beemore.
yeah see that's what i mean itwas just you just grip it and
rip it it was just so fun and itwas a good game and it's just
the costumes were fun to unlockbut then they started to repeat
and they just gave up on thatcosmetic piece i would have

(36:37):
played longer for more cosmeticseven though i don't courses or
whatever just for something tounlock what are you gonna do and
then the courses if they justlike never was there like a
shoot it into that pipe and it'sa shortcut if you hit that pipe
and they had that type of shitin the game keepers rant over my
bad i'm saving up that rantslash have already given it he's
like this game defined so for medisappointment yeah it's like

(36:59):
one of my and then you know whatthough like that's kind of part
of the whole switch journey isit reaches highs and there's a
few times where it doesn't quitedeliver in the way you want it's
just the way games are changingand that's part of the story you
know right i don't know i'm gladthat one made the list though i
debated it for quite some timelike smash bros i'm glad gave an
avenue to talk about so i gottwo left looks like we one of

(37:20):
those three same so you might aswell get that one out of the way
Maybe both.
We'll see.
But I'm going to go...
I'm going to save my load.
And I'm going to go with Kirbyand the Forgotten Land.
Shocking.
Yeah?
I considered it because...
I've played it the one time andadored it.
So this is similar to how you'resaying you're ravenous for Mario

(37:43):
Golf.
I really like Kirby.
Kirby gets shat on on theinternet for being too easy and
stuff, but it's like, have youplayed Kirby?
It can get hard sometimes.
Yeah.
It's like a coke head beinglike, you're smoking weed?
It's like, I had to get theresomehow, dude.
For sure.
But this kind of ties into...
Weird analogy.
That's on me.
That's bad.
It kind of ties into...
The whole idea of Nintendo kindof like, kind of with the Zelda

(38:07):
thing, how they changed up theformat.
So they brought Kirby, which isprimarily a 2D platformer, into
the 3D platforming realm.
And they did an excellent job atit.
That game's so good.
So charming.
Honestly, probably my favoriteKirby.
And I like almost all the Kirbygames.
But this Kirby game, probablythe best.
Graphics were solid.
Like, quite good, actually.
I just remember being stoked forthe release of that.

(38:27):
And I remember playing throughit and having, from start to
finish...
Just such a joy.
Like, that doesn't happen inmost games.
Podcast did good numbers, too.
What's up?
Dude, it is.
That pod, too.
Kirby pod is like in our topthree, four.
Kirby hive.
Get at me, dude.
Kirby hive.
What's up, dude?
For sure.
Dude, it's got a tail on it.
People still listen to the Kirbyepisodes.
It's such a good game, dude.
And it's like, is it a hiddengem or is it an underappreciated

(38:52):
masterpiece?
Probably an underappreciatedmasterpiece, dude.
Slapper.
like the little cut scenes andeverything like the game is good
like the game is very good andit was like did not stay as
welcome like it's just longenough it like hits all the
sweet spots for me in a fewyears if you're like let's dust
off the old switch like youwould definitely get to Kirby
and the Forgotten Land yeah andif you haven't played it get

(39:16):
your ass on and play it dudeit's a cool game and like for me
it was like that hype cycle ofit like there was that's what
something the switch did so wellfor such a long time was the
hype cycle yeah like that istapered off in the last few
years for me yeah like forvarious reasons no longer like I
have other systems that I playlike switch for a long time was
like my so you brought it up atthe beginning of this but like

(39:37):
it invigorated like a gaminglike person in you right yeah
dude I was even more so like outof the game Like, I didn't have
a PS4.
Like, my last system was a PS3.
That's true.
I didn't have any Xboxes.
And before your PC, you wouldplay, like, games I was playing
on the PS4, but, like, the lameSwitch version.
Yeah.
It was, like, really funny.
Like, The Witcher, you were sohyped to get into some of these

(39:59):
games that you had kind ofmissed out on.
I thought about putting TheWitcher on this list because,
for me, like, that was, like, myentry to The Witcher, and then I
ended up getting it.
And, dude, the fact that it hadthe cross-saves and I could
bring it over to my PC.
That was pretty sick.
Fucking dope.
But, dude, like, I rememberplaying The Witcher 3 on my
Switch.
and being like incredibly happywith a couple of the cut scenes
that were like dude like trashin terms of like graphics but

(40:21):
like still adorably so stilllike was pretty tight yeah great
game to play handheld not on mylist thought about it though
yeah oh wow but uh but kirbydude kirby the forgotten land uh
made my list and for me that'slike a quintessential switch
game and i think that it waspart of that like hype cycle
whereas like there was a lot ofexcitement in my honest release
and it in different of what setsaside for margolf i feel like

(40:44):
this game a 100% delivered.
Yeah.
Um, and also during that Darthof games, I was very excited for
Kirby star alliances.
And that was a tough one for me.
Cause it was like 60 bucks forKirby.
kind of a five to 10 hour kiddiegame.
Sure.
So like, as much as I shat onthe whole, like people who say

(41:06):
Kirby's too easy, like whenyou're, when you're in a desert
and you finally get to somewater, sure, sure.
There's not a lot of that water.
It was a bummer, but now I lookmore fondly upon that game now,
but like, God, if they wouldhave released Kirby in the
forgotten land at that time, itwould have been a different
completely.
Um, all right.
So I guess I'll be the one tosay it.
So is this your fifth now?

(41:26):
I'm on my fourth.
Fourth, okay, yeah, yeah.
I just have had too much to sayabout some of your selections.
It's all good.
We got against Animal Crossing, who I'm pretty sure engineered
the pandemic themselves.
Yes, dude.
I'm pretty sure we spent toomuch time in conspiracies about
governments releasing it and notenough on how Nintendo probably
created coronavirus to sellAnimal Crossing.

(41:47):
I wouldn't doubt it.
But, oh my god, dude.
If you're thinking back of yourtime spent on this system,
Animal Crossing's the one time Icould turn my wife into a gamer
girly she put in a pretty crazyamount of hours actually and
like it's so funny like you knowhow I am so like my island was
like popping like I had likevery I'm a Virgo or whatever you

(42:11):
know you can buy into that asmuch as you want the star sign
stuff but like but dude I hadlike you know my areas
everything was doing and thenlike so you know and I actually
bought two copies of AnimalCrossing yeah I bought a digital
copy so that because I have thetwo switches so like and I could
but we could play at the sametime and we could like be online
and visit each other's islands.
That was a mistake.
I should never have invited Annato my island because I had

(42:32):
started playing this before her.
Oh, you overwhelmed her with thepotential?
Yeah, dog.
She came over to my island.
She was like, fuck this game.
Oh, no.
She was like, I'll never have anisland like yours.
I was

SPEAKER_01 (42:42):
like, come on, baby.
Yeah, you will.
I

SPEAKER_00 (42:44):
got into a playful fight with the missus the other
day, though, because we weretalking about Animal Crossing
with someone.
She goes, I kind of wish I hadmy own island.
I was like, the fuck?
Speaking upon our memoriesshared together?
How dare you besmirch ourbeautiful...
And you know what?
I mean, we talked it out.
We goofed around about it somemore.
We both have very fond memoriesof doing that together.

(43:05):
She probably wouldn't havegotten into it as much if she
didn't have me kind of with someof the nuts and bolts of the
island.
I just did.
So Anna had her little tent andshe was quite happy with a
couple flowers and then she cameand saw my fields of poppies and
was like, what the fuck?
Yeah.
And I also can't blame the wifefor like...
She'd go into the northwestcorner of the map, and I had
created a bamboo fortress thatmay have looked like a prison,

(43:25):
looked like a cool fuckingcastle to me, but whatever,
dude, my imagination busts hard.
That's funny.
Dude, if I look back at my bankof photos or screenshots on the
Switch, it's all the differentfish I was catching and shit,
dude.
I remember the first month whereI was like, you have to catch
this one fish before the end ofthe month.
And it was like some fuckinggolden trout or some shit.
You had to climb to the top.
You had to be in a certain bodyof water, a waterfall.

(43:46):
A certain time of day, maybe.
Yeah, it was like all thisstuff, and like The content
created around it.
Ace had a fucking birthday partyin Animal Crossing.
It was the heat of the pandemic.
Shots out to Ace.
He had cupcakes ready to go forfolks.
He had party favors.

(44:07):
We went home back to our islandswith gifts and stuff.
Fossils laid out.
That was dope, dude.
That was the best party you'veever thrown, Ace.
The fuck you done since, dog?
Uh, so that shit was dope.
Uh, I'll never forget.
Like I had to teach.
So it was like this weird thingwhere I had a quote unquote
office hours for like two hoursa day.

(44:28):
So like I'd wake up whenever thefuck I wanted right before
office hours.
And then it was burn up.
Yes, sir.
And my wife would be all fuckingjealous because she had to do
her like real job, but sort ofnot really from the computer
across the room.
So she could just see megrinding, getting, shaking my
fucking trees, digging my holes, harvesting my flowers.

(44:48):
And like, I was a fan of it onthe GameCube.
So I never really played theGameCube too much, but I had the
3DS.
I played New Leaf or whateverit's called a little bit.
But we, man, we went so hardinto the game or the, excuse me,
the island life and visitedpeople.
And then we got into the stonkmarket, dude.
Remember that?
Yeah, dude.
We had a group that shouts outto the homies.

(45:11):
So Ace was on that.
Boing.
Carter, I want to say, was onthat.
I think so, yeah.
And then I think I got Ben intoit.
So Ben was on it.
And then I'm trying to think.
I forgot about that.
That's common.
I think if there's anybody elseand just like hitting that
thread of like, yo, what's yourprice?
Yeah.
And like jumping over to eachother's islands, dicking around.
Making the money.
Like that shit was so funny.
I would even like, dude, I kindof cheesed that a little bit.

(45:31):
I got on Twitter sometimes.
I'm like, fine.
on folks that like big, bignumbers.
And it's like, well, it's partof the vibe.
They threw them codes out.
Yeah.
I forgot about that.
I liked visiting random islandsand harvesting them.
Like it was just, it was a greatgame at quite literally at the
suspiciously perfect time for agame like that.
For sure.
Like, but so dude, for sure.
It's funny.

(45:52):
Um, post panty, like, you know, tail end of it.
Penny wasn't really over, butyou know, uh, I was in New York,
uh, and went to the comedycellar.
I love going to the comedycellar every time I'm in New
York.
And one of the comedians, can'tremember who he was, one of the
openers, he was all right, but Iwas in the front row.
They landed me in the front, which is like, always gives me a
little bit of anxiety becausethey're going to pick on me.

(46:13):
Yeah, you're a big dude too.
I'm a big dude as well.
You stand out to be like.
For sure.
So he calls on me and he'stalking about the panty because
the panty's fresh and he wastalking about asking people what
they did.
He was like, how about you, man?
Like, what'd you do in thepanty?
I was like, man, I smoked a lotof weed, drank a lot of, and
like, what the fuck?
and hung out on Animal Crossing.
And he like tried laying into meon Animal Crossing.
He was like, fuck, what thefuck?

(46:35):
Cause he just wanted to hearlike drank and smoked.
Yeah.
Cause that's what he did.
It's like, okay, cool.
Partied or whatever.

UNKNOWN (46:41):
Um,

SPEAKER_00 (46:42):
But dude, fucking like, so I, the dude next to me,
some random guy, he looks at me,he's like, yo man, me too.
Like everybody.
Cause that's what everybody wasdoing.
This could be a fucking stupidman.
Like he missed out.
He missed out.
Love that.
But, uh, but dude, that's like, that game was so like to this
day.
And like, this is the onlyregret I have about switching to
an OLED and said, as I didn't domy safe, safe transfer

(47:04):
correctly.
Lost that Island.
I lost my Island bro.
That Island is in my mind's eye.
Like I remember that Island.
Like I could, I can walk throughit in my mind.
Like, it's crazy.
I remember, like, havingconversations with the wife
about, like, where are we goingto lay this bridge?
Dog.
Where are we going to put thishouse?
It was just, it was so sick tohave someone, like, with you to
do all that.

(47:24):
Hannah's, like, fuckingbroke-ass island still exists,
though.
Shoot.
Fucking still sitting in hergoddamn tent.
Dog, I had, like, dude.
Her Coachella tent.
Dude, I had, like, straight, like, you mentioned the fish,
dude.
Like, I had, like, a full-on,like, all the albums you could
collect.
Like, dude, I finished themuseum.
Like, that's not even like thatbig of an accomplishment.

(47:45):
I got them twin glocks, dude.
I call them Timmy and Tommy.
Clowning.
Sliding your bitch like KK,dude.
Yeah, dog.
I wear a KK Slider shirt toschool.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And people are like, the fuck?
And then kids are like, hellyeah.
Did I give you that shirt?
Nah, the wife did.
Oh, tight.
But it's got like the cool, youknow, we're both dumb.
Yeah, I got one.
We're dumb suckers with thefucking Japanese print.

(48:07):
Yeah, sure, sure.
Japanese print.
So it's, yeah, KK Slider.
Tight.
Love that.
Love the KK.
Oh, yeah.
Animal Crossing.
That's my final pick.
There's no way it's not.
Yeah, it's on there.
It's probably, if I had toactually properly rank them, I
might actually truly strugglebetween Zelda, my favorite game
ever.
That was my number two when Iwas going to rank.
So I had, I mean, I mean, hardto not have Breath of the Wild

(48:28):
up there as number one.
A moment for me or a moment forthe greater community as a whole
is kind of crazy.
I mean, like, you can't have theSwitch without Animal Crossing.
Like, it was such a culturalmovement at the time.
Like, it brought peopletogether.
Like you said, people werehanging out digitally.
Yeah.
When they couldn't hang out inperson.
And just, like, a chill-ass,like...
I'm not, uh, I'm not like a, Ilike cozy games.

(48:48):
I'm not like a cozy gamer perse.
Yeah.
But like cozy up with somefucking animal crossing and just
like you dude, like I didn'thave to teach or anything.
I run my own business and likemarketing shit.
So like there are some thingsthat I had to take care of,
especially for my restaurantclients, which are trying to do
like take out and stuff.
But that didn't take me too muchtime.
Like there's a lot of time.
So I had a lot of time for that.
So of course I'd fire up likefirst thing of the day.

(49:08):
And then what else are you goingto do?
Like it's just so habitual.
It felt so good.
Um, I recently, dude, I've beenlike, man, I'm kind of tight
like but that's just it dudelike i miss my island so much
like starting from scratch likegives me a little bit of pause
though i haven't i haven't likebut like did you ever start it
yeah not like the only othercozy game i've ever fucked yeah
not like hardcore um but i'veput it put some hours in the

(49:30):
stardew stardew is like i meanlike it's tight don't get me
wrong like 100 but like uhthere's just something like
extra uh It's like grinding andthe simplicity of it, of Animal
Crossing.
Whereas like Stardew like givesme, like I try to min-max.
Who am I trying to get my, likeI min-max in fucking Animal

(49:52):
Crossing as well.
But like it's next level inStardew in my opinion.
Animal Crossing had like a nicehour to two hour shelf life per
day.
Yeah.
Whereas like Stardew is kind oflike...
keep playing, dog.
Yeah, that makes sense.
You run your full cycle and thenyou move on.
I think that's my full list,bro.
I think I did five.
Animal Crossing would have beenthe last one I was going to
drop, so I've got Breath of theWild, Super Smash Brothers,

(50:15):
Kirby the Forgotten Land, AnimalCrossing, and Mario Kart Live
Home Circuit.
Nice.
To finish and round me off, Ihave a cheat.
Because who doesn't just cheat?
Me.
I'm an honorable man.
All lists, all integrity.
I was playing, dude.
You see me as a kid playing likethe Sims, putting in cheat codes
and shit.
Yeah, or trying to cheat whenI'm beating you in baseball

(50:38):
games.
I digress.
That's just part of the game, bro.
It's a two-way tie.
Too many times.
They represent the same thing tome, though.
Okay.
And that's my cheat.
I call it vegetable gaming.
Okay.
Groove state gaming.
Sure, sure.
Flow state gaming.
Okay.
Whatever you want to call it.
Civ VI.

(50:58):
Ah, yes.
And Slay the Spire.
Okay.
Very different games, though.
Yes, but also represent like I'mplaying them for far too long.
Yeah.
I'm getting good enough at themwhere my brain processing to
play them is low.
So I could be watching sports.
I could be watching something inthe background.
I could just be vibing, but theamount of time I put into Civ

(51:22):
six is gross.
Um, it's interesting.
Like the, where that shit is abadge, bro.
A hundred percent.
I fucking love Civ.
No, uh, it did drop in a price, but I'm playing enough stuff.
So now it's not the time.
Um, it was so good.
I was actually shocked.
It was so good on the switch.
Um, I had some crashes.

(51:43):
I had some nonsense.
Which is pretty wild, dude.
Most games like Switch, well, granted, my point is Switch
actually doesn't have a lot ofproblems.
No.
Shouts out to the Switch.
My Steam ED has way moretechnical issues than my Switch
ever did.
And I'm talking like hardwaretoo.
Switches, other than the Joy-Condrift, which Nintendo is pretty

(52:04):
cool about replacing.
I don't know what they still do,but they were for a while there.
They were for a while and I gotmine fixed and I haven't had
issues yet, so that's tight.
But They were both just like...
Slay the Spire, I guess Ithought about maybe mentioning
just when I said that indie runI went on that started with
Shovel Knight.
What a great game to be able toplay handheld, though.

(52:24):
Yeah.
Are you trying to play Slay on afucking big-ass TV or something?
Nah, not really.
I mean, I did when it would runout of battery.
Sure, sure.
And I had to plug it in, and Iwasn't willing to quit.
A lot of these third-party gameshave been on the Steam...
you know, steam market forever, but there's, and that's where
the, the steam deck has likekind of changed up the game
quite a bit.
But so yeah, slay the spirecombined with sieve.

(52:47):
It's just, I guess maybe if Ihad to officially nail it down,
I'm going to say sieve.
Cause like to play that game.
Well, you got like 400 hours,500, 600, 700, thousand, 10,000.
No, it's probably right now.
Yeah.
I'm playing right now.
It's probably, I got thatStarlink fucking chip, dude.
It was wild to me about youdropping sieve six.
It makes total sense.

(53:07):
I think it should be for you.
But, like, dude, that game...
Like, have you consideredplaying on a PC?
I think I bought it.
Is this for, like, thesmoothness of it?
I bought it, but I bought it on,like, Epic.
And to be able to use a mouse?
But do you use the touchscreen?
Like, do you use thetouchscreen?
I use both.
There's differentfunctionalities.

(53:28):
And it's, like, late game iswhen it gets really, like...
I think that's an interestingthing about the Switch to me is,
like...
I forced myself to use thetouchscreen on there.
Like, whereas the 3ds, like itwas very much like you tap on
the screen for things.
Right.
Sure.
Whereas a switch, like once youlike break, you almost forget
that it's part.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But then once you like realizelike, Oh yeah, I can like, dude,

(53:49):
I don't know.
It's nice.
Yeah.
And I got like expansions too.
So like I would run into likereally, I would have to save
pretty much all the time.
Sure.
And then late game stuff.
So like you're so invested inlate game that you would, put up
with it is really what it comesdown to.
The portability of the Switch.
Playing Civ in bed.
Playing Civ in transit.

(54:09):
Long car rides.
The majority of my Civ 6 I didon the iPad.
Yeah, that would check out too.
I don't have one of them.
But yeah, so like that, youknow, if I'm telling the story
of the Switch, that fits.
So I will officially cut outSlay the Spire.
Just a quick honorable mention.
Shout out.
That game slaps so hard.
And I will buy Slay.
I will not wait for a sale.

(54:30):
I will buy Slay the Spire 2.
Early access, on release,doesn't matter.
I love that game so dearly.
But Civ, to have that powerfulof a game, a complex of a game,
in a handheld, everywhere, onthe couch, on the TV, bed,
transit, all that, and justsomething to obsess over, and it
looked good on there, it justhad to make the list, dude.

(54:52):
Dude, I love it.
Yeah, dude, those games, notonly...
Every single game that wementioned, absolutely, I would
recommend playing.
They are not necessarily myfavorite games, although some of
them are on favorite game listsor whatever.
But yeah, but those gamesdefinitely define the switch for
me.
And I think it's like theswitch.
ultimately for me like beingsomeone who loves handheld
gaming so much like i haveplayed plenty of hours docked

(55:13):
but like dude the accessibilityof being able to play on the
couch like still on the couchbut i had my wife being able to
have like whatever tv she got onand being able to or even watch
like her aside say we got somesports rocking and you can like
some footballs dude you can justplay a little bit of switch
during the commercials orwhatever you got going on dude i
love it it's so dope and thenyou know like we mentioned
earlier like being able to playit on a plane like all this

(55:35):
other stuff dude like dude whata system i think it's the best
system of all time.
I think so too, dude.
I look at the Switch 2 and I seethe Switch 2 as it's almost like
the Wii U.
It's like a necessary upgradeand people are stoked on it.
I was looking up earlier.
I think 3.5 million units havealready sold in the first four
days.
People are buying it and theyseem to have a decent amount of

(55:57):
inventory of it.
There's a little prediction,dude.
I think it'll taper off.
Like, I don't think, I don'tlike, I mean, we plan on buying
it a little bit later, but like, the thing is, is like, I just
don't feel that it will havelike two, we're talking about a
system that had a lifespan ofeight, nine years and like, by
all means, like could go on,like without a switch to update,

(56:19):
in my opinion.
Um, it's going to take like, soit's the greatest system ever
for a variety of things.
It runs that gambit that wetalked about from the novelties
of switch circuit to like beingable to play some of the more
complex games handheld and thenthe handheld to the TV.
And it's just going to take likean absolute banger of a Zelda
game that you can only play onthe new capabilities.

(56:40):
It's going to take an absolutebanger Mario game.
Like they're going to have torelease like first party heat
before people really for sure.
Fuck with it.
For sure.
Me included.
Like, And then Steam Deck hascome up.
A lot of people.
Xbox got their thing.
But the only thing they cannever compete with comes down to
first party IP.

(57:01):
Nintendo IP for sure.
But also like how the systemworks.
It's functionality.
It's accessibility.
Like I read an article that ajournalist was talking about how
the new Xbox handheld is justsuper heavy.
Yeah, I saw that too.
And she's like, maybe I'm just apetite gamer.
But, you know, if you want toget all weird on me about saying
that, I'm not the only petitegamer.

(57:22):
Yeah.
So, like, legit concern here.
Yeah, I ain't going to lie.
I prefer paying...
If I'm, like, playing with asteamy D, like, I put a pillow
on my lap and put it on top.
Because it's, like, not overlyheavy, but it's heavy enough
where you get...
Earlier on, you were talkingabout the Switch and the numb
hands you get from the holdingit or whatever.
Switch bra.
Fixed that.
So, necessary accessories.
So...
Yeah, it's the best.
And then now there's a morecrowded market.

(57:44):
So a lot of those indies I canplay.
So when I look at what theSwitch 2 would mean, I'm like,
well, I no longer need it forlike my Hollow Knights and, you
know, Silksong will be availableand other stuff too.
And then, you know, I'm not, Igot an Xbox Series X.
I'm not going to play Madden onmy Switch 2.
Yeah.
Right.
So like, what's its purpose?
And the answer is an absolutebanger of a Zelda game.

(58:06):
I can't overrun, dude.
I don't think the Switch 2, Idon't think the Switch 2 has got
eight years in it.
You know what I'm saying?
No, and we'll see where consolesare moving in general with them
tapering off.
Because when Xbox or PlayStationtalks about a new system, I'm
like, for what?
Yeah, fair.
Have you even taken advantage ofthe Series X's capabilities?
Dog, barely.

(58:26):
Or the PlayStation 5.
And then the PlayStation, likeNintendo's got games that I'd
have some serious FOMO.
I was PlayStation boy forever.
Yeah.
And still don't give a fuck thatI don't have a 5.
Sure, sure, sure.
Couldn't be bothered to buy one.
got that switch though so switchtwo is what we'll see though
cool man let's run through realquick the uh all the games that

(58:47):
we played for the pod on ourswitches yeah while you're
pulling that up i just want tosay uh a shout out to tyler i
like nagged him incessantlyabout how i needed to get a
switch and i was like dude i'llborrow you freaking zelda and i
like i was really cute i likewent with him to target and we
picked out his uh he got theodyssey edition And he got
Odyssey.

(59:07):
So it's just a cute littlebromance of just running over to
Target with him.
He's like, dude, you have to gethim.
And we were younger men.
We didn't have children.
So we could just drop a fewhundred dollars on a whim.
But that was cute.
Neither of us had Odyssey on thelist.
That was one that for sure...
Absolute great game.
Yeah, dude.
Super awesome game.
But it doesn't define the systemfor me for whatever reason.

(59:28):
Although Mario isquintessentially like Nintendo.
Yeah, but you get him everywhereelse with the cart and the golf.
Like his mainline games are...
Pretty solid.
I mean, the one that came out istight too.
Hades was an honorable mentionfor me.
Yep.
Um, just that was obviouslyeverywhere.
I mentioned it with my, uh,there you go.
Uh, but I think we both playedthat on, on the switch though.

(59:50):
Oh yeah.
Yep.
So that was episode two Hades.
Second episode.
Second episode.
And then the hidden episodebefore that, that we were so bad
at it.
And we had a microphone on atable in the middle of your
living room and your dog wasbarking.
Yeah.
And I was like, cut that out,put that here.
And you're like, yeah, postediting magic.
That totally works like that.
Yeah.

(01:00:11):
Well, that was a super Metroid.
No.
Uh, correct.
Yeah.
So that would have been on theNSO.
I think I might've played it.
Zero episode zero.
I played on the NSO.
type good sound effects mycellular device don't worry
about it um totally yeah so ithink i played that one on the
uh the net the super nintendomini or whatever classic but

(01:00:31):
what you gonna do uh but fairyeah um maybe that was briefly
made available uh to folks andmaybe it will be again someday
It's a fun episode.
It's the nightmare.
For the fans.
Yeah, if you think we suck now, dude.
You should have heard it done, dude.
Ah, Hades.
Episode 3, Mario Golf SuperRush.
Yeah.
Go back and hear us wax.
Actually, we didn't like TotallyWaxed Wagon on that.

(01:00:52):
We like it, but.
If you want a shorter version, babies gave you the rant.
Episode 4, The Legend of ZeldaSkyward Sword.
That was a great Switch game, dude.
Yes.
I thought about it when I wasputting my list together.
I thought of it on the drivehere.
I was like, it's an excellentport and the way they made the
motion controls actually fun.
with the thumbsticks was great.

(01:01:13):
Gave new life to a very goodgame that was lost on a shit
system.
Dude, for the people that havebeen following me since like
before I changed over to lowfive gaming and my Instagram
handle was Ness Obsessed.
Yeah.
This podcast was Ness Obsessedfor a long ass time, dude.
Like all of our games arefucking from the Switch.
The next one, episode five,Metroid Dread.
Mm-hmm.

(01:01:34):
Wow.
Looking at the poster right now.
Yeah.
That one was an honorablemention.
I, like, had that on my list andremoved it for the home circuit,
dude.
It's really cool.
It's so good.
It's, like, it is a greatMetroidvania.
It's a Metroid game, obviously,but, like, for the system's
capabilities, I feel like it,like, hits it to max.
Like, I think it, like, doessuch a good job.
It's a game I think about a lot,but I don't want to replay it,

(01:01:55):
but I think of it more fondly.
Yeah, it's great.
I mean, I bought the...
I bought, like, the superwhatever...
It's a sick poster.
Yeah.
Holographic, as you do.
Yeah.
Got the little coffee table booktoo.
But then we move right into theLegend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.
Ocarina of Time.
Are these in order?
Dude, these are in order.
Did we bother trying to not playSwitch?
We didn't even mess with like, nah, we were just like, so

(01:02:16):
Ocarina of Time, I think Iplayed on the 3DS, but you
probably played NSO.
100%.
Skyrim.
So the Skyrim I played on thePC, but then that's, oops, we're
going off of Switch games.
Bachelor Party.
But you have Skyrim on yourSwitch.
The homie, I don't, but thehomie Ace at my Bachelor Party
was like half conscious justbeing a barbarian barreling
things, smashing things, passingout.
It was a fun memory.

(01:02:38):
I played, and I think youprobably did too, Dead Cells,
which was episode eight on theSwitch.
Sure did.
That was also an honorablemention for me because I do love
that game and it was very muchaccessible via the handheld and
everything.
It's a good game on there.
Episode nine, Kirby and theForgotten Land.

SPEAKER_01 (01:02:51):
We're

SPEAKER_00 (01:02:52):
going to skip a couple episodes.
Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesShredder's Revenge episode 12.
That was sick on them.
That was a great game.
Another cool like co-op gamewhere we got together with none
other than Ace.
Didn't he just like unannounceddrop in from the cabin he was
staying in?
Like it was open and all of asudden he's like, yo, let me in.
And we're like, whoa.
That was fun.

(01:03:12):
That was fun.
Let me see.
Then we jump into some of thethings.
Did you play Portal and Portal 2on Switch?
Sure did, dude.
I played on the PC, but thosewere half Switch.
Much to Tyler's delight.
And public campaigning andprivate campaigning.
Super Mario World, I played thatvia NSO.
Same.
I would never have beat itwithout it.

(01:03:34):
That was episode 16.
I kind of love the NSO forplaying hard old games because I
can actually, you know, on myown goddamn terms.
Bloodstained, Curse of the Moon.
That was a Switch game for me.
Yes.
I think you too.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Celeste I played on the Switch, much to the chagrin of my
Joy-Cons.
When I first saw what we played,I started Celeste probably

(01:03:57):
around the panty.
Uh, that's how I actually gotlike stick drift or whatever,
got them fixed and I apparentlydid not respect the, um, I just
went for it again, but, butthey're okay.
So we're all right.
There we go.
Uh, which are, which are threewild hunt.
Uh, that was a half switch forme.
Um, that was episode 21.

(01:04:18):
Let's see.
The legend of Zelda tears, thekingdom episode 24, super Mario
land to six golden coins, probably an NSO for you.

UNKNOWN (01:04:27):
Correct.

SPEAKER_00 (01:04:27):
Episode 26, Dredge.
I did that on the Switch.
As did you, I believe.
Maybe not.
Xbox.
Oh, you did that on Xbox.
Right on.
Well, half Switch.
Donkey Kong Country, another onethat I did on the Switch via
NSO.
Once again, on my own terms.
Sea of Stars.
Sea of Stars, I have on theSwitch.

(01:04:48):
I actually did that via Xboxbecause I was on Game Pass at
the time.
But I did buy the physical copyfor the Switch.
Grease.
Grease.
That's probably what we werecalling it on the episode, but
Grease.
That's episode 29.
Played that on the Switch.
How about you?
Where did you play it?
I don't remember.
Was it a Game Pass game?
It could have been.

(01:05:10):
I owned a digital copy on theSwitch.
I played it there.
The Lost Crown, Prince ofPersia, episode 32.
That I did on the Switch.
I believe you did that on Xbox.
Let me see.
You can kind of see that we aresuper heavy.
That was in the heat of Beforewe had the new consoles.
Right.
But for a long time.

(01:05:30):
Echoes of Wisdom, episode 39.
Good game.
Kirby 64, Crystal Shards, probably did that on the NSO.
Same.
And that is the Switch list.
That's the list.
Low five gaming episodes.
Cool.
So goodbye, sweet prince.
Be around.
Yeah.
Be around for a while.

(01:05:51):
There's some games I need tobeat on there, but I've found it
hard to.
Keep it going with my streamingday.
Fair enough, dude.
There's certain games, though,that's like...
I mean, all my physical games, Iprefer, obviously, to play it on
the Switch because that's what Igot to do.
Yeah.
There are things about...
Some people rip on the Joy-Cons.
I don't mind them, especiallywhen you got the grip or the

(01:06:11):
bra, as you like to call it.
I think maybe I'm just used tothem, but I'm more forgiving to
Joy-Cons than many people are.
The battery life is phenomenal.
The low...
The battery life is phenomenal.
The low sticks, like...
I don't mind it dude like so thesometimes there's certain games
with the high sticks on thesteamy D like doesn't feel quite

(01:06:31):
or it just takes me a little bitmore time to get used to but
yeah that's our list dudeanother low five top five
messing around with the format alittle bit it's been a long one
so I don't even know maybe youwant to do a quick side quest
yeah I'll keep it real quickcool I've just apparently turned
into a later in life metalheaddemon guy there you go You know,

(01:06:55):
I tried to talk you into playingDoom Eternal.
Yeah.
You didn't, but that's okay.
I did not.
I didn't get as far as I wantedto either, so I can't really nag
you too far.
That game's sick, though.
I'm playing it, and my wifelooks up, and she goes, this
game is, like, demonic.
And I was like, literally.
It sure is.
I was like, quite literally, that's actually part of the
whole deal.
That is a game that I would, like, totally play handheld.

(01:07:17):
or in my office or like i justwouldn't i just wouldn't bother
i wouldn't play it in front ofinflicting that upon anyone else
uh it's sweet on the big old tvthough it's so not my type of
game right that like it's kindof cool like i just kind of like
i never care about like a linearshooter much but it has an
excellent map uh the action it'sso aggressive it's yeah and it's

(01:07:39):
a little bit of a dance as faras like you need to constantly
move you need to pull out thisgun to do that you need to pull
out that gun you gotta use thisthing to reload you gotta do
this or get new ammo.
You got to do this thing to reget your health.
You got to get this thing to getyour armor.
So it's a bit of a dance, so itcan be a little tiring, but
like, I feel like they play tooheavily into the melee bit.
Like you need to like tearpeople's heads off to like

(01:07:59):
harvest health and ammo.
Yes.
Like a little bit more than Iwould prefer.
Like, I don't mind it.
I think it's cool, but like abit of a dance.
Yeah.
Right.
So, but that's, that's my onlyqualm with, with the newer doom
games, but it's tight.
And then transition to, uh, alsopicked up Diablo four, which,
uh, Um, I have never played aDiablo.

(01:08:20):
I have some fuzzy memories.
Someday I'm going to get you toplay Diablo one for the pod.
I think after playing Diablofour, that might not be hard.
Um, it might be fun to go back.
I mean, I certainly think Ishould check out Diablo two.
It seems to be the mostlegendary of them all.
Uh, Diablo four, never played agame.
Some about me.
I had a buddy.
I asked if he had any interestor played it.

(01:08:40):
And he said, uh, he doesn't likethat.
He couldn't think of the word, but he doesn't, he's not, has no
interest because the isometricview.
Oh, weird.
Dude, the older I get, thereason I did not judge is
because I agreed for a longperiod.
And then there's just, I don'tknow if it's just like.
I love isometric games.
Dude, I love them.
I love that diorama look.
And like, I'm loving, I justsmack buttons around.

(01:09:01):
My wife had to get up and movebecause she was reading a book.
And like, I didn't have thesound on.
I had headphones in for once.
I wasn't hitting it dirty foronce.
And I was smacking the keys soaggressively.
She was just like, what?
Like the steamy D is gettingwrecked on this thing.
But big shout out to Diablo 4.
It's instantly addicting.
I love it.
And the Steam Deck could not bea better device for that game.

(01:09:24):
Diablo machine is sweet.
Perhaps we'll hear more aboutthat later.
Not today, though.
Yeah.
I mean, yeah.
Shoot.
Shoot.
Shoot.
I can dig it, dude.
Shoot.
Shoot.
demon mode just been a demon iguess i never thought i was into
that goth kind of fantasyaesthetic maybe maybe elden ring

(01:09:45):
kind of got me down the darkfantasy so sure road and here we
are but right on demons yeah myside quests are dude it's been a
while man i mentioned to youit's like i've been kind of in
like a gaming drought like i'mstill messin' with games and
stuff, but I've been boppin'around a lot, and, like, nothin'
was hookin', and, like, I justdidn't have, like, I made a
joke, dude, I Jimmy Butler'dyou, and I was like, just lost

(01:10:06):
my game and joy, dude.
Which is, like, there's a, youknow, I think that's a thing.
You need to get Alex some gamingViagra, dude, he's lost his...
Dog, I kinda got it back, though, for sure, dude, like,
that's just it.
For sure, baby! It's back, it'sback, it's back, dude! Uh, dude,
I rolled the credits on Mafia, which is a, uh...
yeah dude that game was a it waslike there's nothing like
extremely special about mafiabut it's like the game i needed

(01:10:28):
to like it was like not terriblylong took me about 12 hours to
beat like a remaster uh it is aremaster of the original so it's
um i mean so that came out inlike 2017 2018 something like
that yeah um the remaster did uhbut it's just a third person
like cover shooter basically Andit's linear.
I think I really needed a lineargame.

(01:10:49):
I've been playing or trying toplay all these open worlds and
just like being overwhelmed andlike just like the time
commitment just too much wehated linear so much that we
overdid the world that's broughtus right back to linear dude 100
i needed it like just the doomfeels good i'm like i shoot yeah
yeah and you progress rightwhat's going on and you like i

(01:11:10):
mean i don't know you'reprogressing in like a in an open
world but like but it's just toolike it's it's too open like i
needed to be able to pushthrough something the story of
mafia is pretty good like thegameplay is pretty good like
there's like you know it's verymuch like middle of the road
like it's not like no one'sgonna be like this is the best
game of all time but you knowwhat it's a game i needed and i

(01:11:31):
thoroughly enjoy i love covershooters too like you know i'm
like i'm a fan of them peoplelike that game though like it's
got a for sure it's got a cultfollowing for sure um and it
kind of came out in that gta theoriginal came out in that gta
era it has people they're tryingto chase that and they did a
good job of being it's not a badclone it's like it's yeah it's
his own thing uh with a lot oflike it has a GTA feel for sure.

(01:11:54):
Um, and I'm, I listened to a lotof like, you know, video game
discourse and I'd like a lot ofpeople in the, in the gaming
community, especially thepodcast gaming communities that
I dabble in kind of hate on likeearly grand theft autos.
And I'm like, why?
I don't understand.
As in like, like three and fourand stuff like, Oh, and five
even.

(01:12:14):
No, no, five.
I don't even fuck.
I'd be honest.
I don't either.
But like three and four, dude, like, like people don't like
the, I think I'm not sure whatgames they are playing, but
like, but I've definitely hearda lot of folks say that the
button scheme is like they don'tlike.
They just haven't aged as wellas you'd think for how I
remember them.
Like San Andreas, I have thecrazy fond memories of, but I

(01:12:34):
don't think I'd enjoy it.
I mean, I've played like some, like I've fired up on the PS
Vita or whatever, like Vice Cityor whatever, like Vice City
Stories, and I understand thatsome of the controls are a
little weird, but it's not thatbig a deal.
But anyway, do Mafia.
And then I was like, I don'tknow if I want to go right into
Mafia 2, but I want to see alittle bit.
So I dabbled the beginning ofMafia 2, and I was like, okay,

(01:12:54):
cool.
I'll come to this in a year ortwo.
I don't know.
But I started messing aroundwith some other games, and then
what has stuck is I actuallyfired up Marvel's Spider-Man,
Miles Morales.
Yeah.
Very important to get theMarvels in there.
Yeah, I thought that was odd.
Because that's like the...
actual title because they hadlike a whole spider-man series

(01:13:16):
before that um so anyways milesmorales though uh i played
spider-man Marvel's Spider-Man.
Correct.
When it came out for the PC.
Stan Lee's Marvel's Spider-Manis coming out next, dude.
No, but Spider-Man was great.
I enjoyed that game so much andI was actually thinking about
it.
It's like actually criminal thatit's not on my top 10 games list

(01:13:37):
and it might make its way in thenext time we revisit.
I almost cried at the end of thestory.
I know, dude, I know.
And Miles Morales is, I don'tknow if the story's better, but
I will fully admit that likesome of the action, the gameplay
and some of the elements theyadded to it.
Have you played Miles Morales?
Okay, well, it was good.
But I had gotten maybe half ofthe way through it.

(01:13:59):
It's not a terribly long game.
I think you can beat it in about12 hours or less.
Yeah, it's like not a DLCnecessarily, but it basically
is.
It's its own game, but it's kindof like a DLC, yeah, for sure.
But I had gotten at leasthalfway through it.
And it's like one of the most PCgaming things to ever happen to
me.
Like my save just got likeobliterated, like for no reason,
just like erased.

(01:14:19):
And I have no idea why, which islike usually esteemed pretty
good about that kind of thing.
Yeah.
But yeah, I went way into mySteam save files, like the cloud
and everything.
I just didn't want to redo it,dude.
When you lose a game like that, you're that far in.
It's the classic, I can't dothis again.
Yeah, nah, I wasn't about to.
So I let it sit for like two, three years or whatever.

(01:14:40):
And then after playing a littlebit of 3D action cover shooter,
I was like, well, maybe I'llfuck around Miles Moran a little
bit.
You need that inspo.
And it's been nice, dude.
And I'm three quarters of theway through now.
Hell yeah.
Spider-Man's cool.
Side quest.
Shockware.
Well, Shandy, this has been fun.
Another low five, top five.
A little quick side quest.
Nice to meet in person.
Thanks to y'all for listening.

(01:15:01):

You're a fucking champion.
Pew, pew.
I don't know.
I'm out of energy.
I'm just giving you pew, pewsnow.

be added to the conversation.

think of the Switch, what areyour games?
Yes, we'd love to know.
There is an invite to theDiscord there.
We've had a couple people dropin there, which is cool.

(01:15:43):
