In the quiet town of Epping, New Hampshire, a remote farm sits tucked away behind tall grass and aging fences. In 2006, local authorities arrived at the property, responding to reports that would launch a disturbing investigation. What they found there—a bloodstained mattress, mysterious letters, and signs of recent violence—led them down a winding path into the mind of a woman with a dark, delusional worldview.
At the center of the story is Sheila LaBarre, a woman with a troubled past and an unsettling presence. Multiple men had come to live at her farm over the years—none of them ever seemed to leave. As investigators began to dig into her background, they uncovered a history of manipulation and psychological control that spanned decades.
