On April 8, 2022, 18yo law student Debanhi Escobar went on a night out with a couple of new friends. Hours later, she began behaving uncharacteristically erratically, causing her friends to ditch her. The friends called a ride share to take Debanhi home before continuing the party elsewhere. The driver of the ride share sent an ominous picture to one of Debanhi’s friends minutes later, and soon after she had disappeared. What happened to Debanhi Escobar and, with Mexico’s alarming problem with femicide, will she ever find justice?
