you said it's news heavy
too, so.
Nick (01:22):
Yeah.

I thought I was gonna be workingon it for hours.
Yeah.
Um,
Joni (01:31):
So I gave him a break over
the week.
I didn't make him work while wewere
Nick (01:34):

Yeah.
So thank you Disney for notbombarding, news on me the last
10 days.
I wanna give a, a shout outthough to our, some people on
our ship that really made ourexperience much, much better.
That was our state roomattendant, COIs from Indonesia
and our wait staff wereabsolutely amazing.
(01:55):
It was Reva, he was our headwaiter and Lloyd.
He was, he was a waiter
Joni (01:59):
server, and then our
assistant server was
Nick (02:02):
assistant was Derek.
And they were just,
Joni (02:03):
it treated us like, I
honestly feel like we made
friends out of
Nick (02:07):
We, we did.
And they really treated us likewe were family and, we just
can't thank you enough.
And they said they might belistening.
So.
Hi guys.
Joni (02:13):
Hi.
Hi.
It's nice to see it again.
Nick (02:17):
They, they, they couldn't
have been any better.
I know.
They were really, they gave uspuzzles to do.
Yeah.
Joni (02:22):
They, it was almost like
it was as if we'd known them for
Yeah.
For a long time.
And they're very, very kind andhumorous and
Nick (02:30):
yeah, we we're gonna get
more into him a little bit later
when we talk about him, butyeah, Derrick thought he was
gonna out, dad joke me and, thatjust, that just wasn't gonna
happen.
So, sorry Derrick.
You gotta come better withbetter dad jokes.
The first joke he told me was,why does, I can't remember
exactly.
Why doesn't the bike stand up byitself?
Oh, that was it.
Why doesn't the bike stand up byitself?
(02:51):
I said, come on, you gotta gimmebetter than that.
I know this one'cause it's tootired.
Joni (02:56):
didn't get it.
I said, because it got its standkicked.
Nick (03:00):
See?
Yeah, we're gonna get in.
We're gonna, we will get intothem.
Those guys more later, they werejust wonderful.
Joni (03:05):
Fabulous,
Nick (03:05):
fabulous.
Let's get into the news and thenwe'll get onto
Joni (03:08):
Magic Kingdom.
Nick (03:09):
Our cruise experience.
Yeah.
At the Magic Kingdom.
So, magic Kingdom, every yearthey host two nights of New
Year's Eve fireworks, and thisyear is no different.
It's gonna be the same ondecember 30th and December 31st,
guests visiting the park willhave the chance to watch Fantasy
in the sky.
Two performances of thefireworks are scheduled every
night, one for seven 30 and onefor 1150.
(03:31):
they do it twice so the kids cansee it as well.
'cause I don't
Joni (03:34):
So there's really four
showings
Nick (03:36):
right?
Yep.
Over two days.
Fantasy
Joni (03:38):
in the sky.
I've not seen those.
Nick (03:39):
I have not either.
I've seen YouTube that'causehonestly, I don't think I'd ever
go to Magic Kingdom on NewYear's
Joni (03:44):
I I have no desire to.
It is, yeah.
Yeah.
Nick (03:47):
I need a little
Joni (03:48):
power to you brave ones
that wanna do that, but I
Nick (03:51):
I can't do it.
Joni (03:51):
That's not for me either.
Nick (03:53):
And three more November
dates.
Maybe
Joni (03:55):
it from Bay Lake one time
Nick (03:57):
We could do that.
Joni (03:58):
or somewhere where you can
see them.
Yeah.
Nick (04:00):
Yeah.
Three more November dates forMickey's very merry Christmas
party at Magic Kingdom have soldout.
I'm not gonna go over'em all'cause there's.
quite a few sold out and quite afew left, but you can just get
on the website, but that makes atotal of 10 party nights sold
out.
Joni (04:13):
Hmm.
Nick (04:13):
And ironically, I was
doing the news the other day
and.
I was gonna say, the holidaydecorations are going up on
November 2nd.
Oh.
Joni (04:21):
Oh.
Nick (04:21):
But today's November 2nd.
November 2nd, and I saw picturesalready.
Joni (04:24):
so they're already
Nick (04:24):
The tree is not up at
Magic Kingdom, but all the res
and stuff on Main Street and allthat stuff is up.
So from Halloween to Christmas,in a matter of 24, 48
Joni (04:34):
just hope this year that
when we go, on our, uh, trip
next month, that our tree is upat Animal Kingdom
Nick (04:40):
It it should be.
We just missed it last
Joni (04:42):
just missed it.
We were one of the later.
Nick (04:44):
Yeah, I think we, when we
go last year, November 16th of
the 22nd or something like that,we just missed it by a few days.
Joni (04:51):
Don't they rotate those
around or is it just like a
random drawing
Nick (04:54):
heard there's a lottery
system.
Okay.
I don't know if that's ever beenproven true.
Joni (04:58):
just wondered if they kind
of did it on a rotation like you
were first this time, so now youget to be second or, you know.
Nick (05:04):
Yeah.
Anyway.
Joni (05:05):
keep your fingers crossed.
We get to see it.
Nick (05:07):
I, we will.
We'll see it.
Joni (05:08):
I'm anxious to see it.
Okay.
Nick (05:10):
Okay.
And the Jungle Cruise hasdebuted a new prop and joke at
the Magic
Joni (05:16):
Oh, I wonder if it's gonna
use Derek's kickstand joke.
Nick (05:19):
I know the joke.
I know the prop, but yes, I'mnot gonna tell anybody.
Okay.
Um, you
Joni (05:23):
tell me.
Nick (05:23):
I didn't, I'm not going
Joni (05:24):
I wanted, okay.
Nick (05:25):
You gotta keep your eyes.
Peeled in your ears peeled.
There is a new prop and therewill be a joke to go along with
it.
Okay.
So if you're there, keep an eyeout.
Joni (05:36):
Okay.
An eye and an ear.
Yeah,
Nick (05:38):
Eye in an ear.
Eye in an ear.
That's it.
From Magic Kingdom.
Oh,
Joni (05:41):
okay.
Wait, when does this new jokestart?
It's already started so peopleride this ride are already, are
already hearing it.
Nick (05:46):
think, I think it's
already already implemented
Joni (05:49):
If you've been on the
ride, let me know the joke
Nick (05:53):
And at Epcot.
So Epcot also does New Year'scelebration.
It will happen on December 31st.
It's gonna be featuring danceparties throughout the world,
showcase and cheers to the NewYear fireworks, which start at
11:54 PM
Joni (06:08):
Okay.
Nick (06:09):
Okay, don't be late 11,
don't 1155.
You're too late.
Be there at 1153.
No, they start 1154.
Wow.
Joni (06:16):
So there's quite a bit
going on.
Nick (06:18):
Yeah.
And they
Joni (06:20):
thing, right?
Nick (06:21):
Huh?
No, no, no, no.
Joni (06:23):
For the new year
fireworks.
Nope.
Okay.
Nick (06:26):
If you still, they still
will do Luminous as well, but
it's gonna be shown at six 30.
Joni (06:31):
only at one.
Okay.
But it's called Cheers to theNew Year's at 1154.
54 and Luminous at six 30?
Correct.
Okay.
Nick (06:38):
And at Hollywood Studios.
I have something to say aboutthis after I say it, but Guest,
yeah, I know what you're gonnasay.
Guest attend.
Same thing.
Guest attending Hollywood Nightsthis year will be giving a
keepsake ornament as they leavethe event.
Joni (06:52):
Yeah.
Thanks Disney.
Nick (06:53):
What did we get?
We didn't
Joni (06:54):
didn't get an ornament.
We didn't get
Nick (06:56):
ornament.
We didn't get an orna.
We got,
Joni (06:57):
I would love to have an
ornament.
We do a Disney Christmas treeevery year, and all that has on
it is ornaments.
We've gotten from the parks andwe got a couple on our trip this
time, and we would love to havean ornament.
Jolly Wood night.
Disney,
Nick (07:12):
we got marshmallows.
Yes
Joni (07:14):
we did.
They were champagne flavored andI must say
Nick (07:17):
I
Joni (07:17):
not like them.
Nick (07:18):
They were not very good.
They tried.
Joni (07:21):
Well, I'm sure some people
love
Nick (07:23):
Yeah.
Joni (07:23):
You put'em in hot cocoa
and it tastes like champagne,
Nick (07:25):
I didn't really care for
'em.
I think I ate
Joni (07:27):
I don't really care for
champagne though.
No.
So,
Nick (07:30):
Okay.
In that animal kingdom, And morehave been revealed for Zootopia
better together, which opens onNovember 7th.
Woo.
And they did release,, a previewvideo.
Joni (07:41):
Okay.
Nick (07:42):
you can go on their
website and see that.
So, and this is exciting newsAnimal Kingdom box.
So the baby tiger that was bornand debuted in January?
He made the cover of Time forKids Magazine.
Aw.
Joni (07:56):
Aw.
Nick (07:57):
He or she, I can't
remember if it's a he or she.
I think it's a he.
How
Joni (07:59):
sweet.
I love news like that.
Nick (08:01):
So yeah, box O on the
cover of time.
That's it for Park News.
There was more,
Joni (08:08):
birthday coming up pretty
Nick (08:09):
Yeah, I got the highlights
in, like I said, I couldn't put
everything in, but, there's alot of miscellaneous news.
So starting with themiscellaneous news, the
complimentary water taxi servicefrom Magic Kingdom to Fort
Wilderness and Wilderness Lodgehas changed.
Follow me before, there were twoseparate boat routes.
One that went between MagicKingdom and Fort Wilderness, and
(08:30):
another that connected MagicKingdom to Wilderness Lodge.
Joni (08:33):
Okay.
Nick (08:34):
Now both resorts are
sharing a single route,
Joni (08:38):
it's just gonna go full
circle.
One
Nick (08:39):
boat, the boat leaves.
Magic Kingdom makes a stop atWilderness Lodge first, and then
continues on to Fort
Joni (08:45):
Well, that makes sense.
That's what the buses do atAnimal
Nick (08:48):
Yeah.
Um, so they, they went from two.
Two boats to one, basically.
Joni (08:53):
Yeah.
Nick (08:54):
So if you're heading there
soon, just make a mental note of
that, that, um, that haschanged.
Joni (09:00):
Wilderness Lodge will
always be first.
Just like jumbo's fir.
Wait, which one's first atAnimal King?
Is it?
Nick (09:07):
I think it was
Joni (09:07):
It's Kanis First they do
the DVC first.
Okay.
And then they circle back tojumbo.
Nick (09:11):
Okay.
Joni (09:12):
And
Nick (09:13):
this is rumored.
Nothing has been set in stone, but people look for this every
year, and this is what they havefound.
The rumored Christmas paradefilming date, magic Kingdom's
Festival of Fantasy Parade willnot run on November 8th and
ninth.
This is possibly due to.
The filming of the parade, themagical holiday celebration on
(09:35):
ABC's, uh, Christmas Dayspecial.
Joni (09:37):
I would love to be there
for that though.
Yeah.
Nick (09:39):
so November 8th and ninth,
not set in stone.
You know, just have people outthere looking at every little
hint of something going on, and, that's what they're coming up
with now.
Okay, is exciting.
For the first time ever, Disneyis selling holiday popcorn
buckets and sippers online.
Joni (09:54):
same price.
Nick (09:54):
I believe so.
I believe so.
That's nice money.
You gotta pay shipping, but youcan grab the solely Santa
popcorn bucket for 32.9.
Wow.
Joni (10:04):
Yeah.
Nick (10:04):
Or the Donald Duck holiday
tree, LightUp sipper for 24 99.
Okay.
Solely the popcorn bucket isdressed in a Santa hat holding
gifts and a sack full ofpresents with Mike Wazowski
peeking out from the presents.
The Donald Sipper is decked outlike a Christmas tree with,
colorful lights and a candy
Joni (10:22):
You know, I'm not into the
sippers, but I just might have
to get Donald.
Nick (10:25):
There was a cool sipper on
the boat.
Joni (10:27):
Yeah.
Well, we got a cool bucket on
Nick (10:29):
we did get a cool bed.
It's right behind you.
I'm
Joni (10:31):
I know, I was wondering.
I That's not a new one though,is it?
Nick (10:35):
I don't, it's at the
parks.
I'm not sure if I've seen itbefore.
Joni (10:38):
We have the Mickey Ghost
and he has a light up,
Nick (10:41):
Pumpkin
Joni (10:41):
of candy.
Nick (10:41):
Yeah,
Joni (10:42):
And you can hit the button
a couple times.
One for just his body.
One for just the bucket.
Bucket.
Nick (10:48):
Yeah, it's pretty
Joni (10:48):
And then a third time for
both.
But yeah, we love it
Nick (10:52):
and we, we got it in the
theater and the guy came around,
he's like, Hey, you want somepopcorn?
I said, yeah, I want a containerof popcorn.
And Joanie said, no, we wantthat bucket.
Joni (11:00):
Yes I
Nick (11:00):
We want that mickey
bucket.
I said, we don't have room inthe luggage.
He said, looked at me and said.
I want the Mickey bucket.
So
Joni (11:07):
and so.
We bought a luggage,
Nick (11:09):
we bought a luggage on the
boat,
Joni (11:11):
extra luggage to get all
of our gifts home.
Well, because we also did the
Nick (11:15):
the robe, the
Joni (11:16):
and the, the romance
package because we, even though
a little early, we did celebrateour anniversary
Nick (11:21):
and, freakier Friday, we
will be available on Disney Plus
on November 12th.
So that's coming out.
Joanie watched that on the plane
Joni (11:28):
I did.
And it was actually, um.
Being shown in the Buena VistaTheater on the boat.
Nick (11:34):
it was,
Joni (11:35):
We did not watch that.
We opted for another movie, which we can talk about now or
later if you want to, whatever.
But I did watch Freakier Fridayon the plane on the way home.
Yep.
Nick (11:44):
the, my Disney Experience
app updated when we were gone
and I got home and I did not, Ihad not research any new yet,
and I was kind of lost.
Joni (11:51):
didn't know what he was
going
Nick (11:52):
I didn't know what was
going on.
So it has updated, they put myday and future plans, they
combined them to a tab called MyPlans.
So it allows you to selectdifferent dates and view the
plans for that day.
I did not know that I wasstumbling around
Joni (12:08):
you're looking around for
the special tabs.
I
Nick (12:10):
and then it, and yeah.
And then in my mind I'm like, well, they must have changed
this.
Then when I sat down the othernight and started doing the
news, I'm like, well, there itis.
They changed
Joni (12:18):
Yep.
Nick (12:18):
And the Walt Disney
Company is donating$1 million to
support relief and recovery inJamaica after Hurricane Melissa.
The funds will help Disney castand crew in the area and support
organizations like unicef, USA,world Central Kitchen and Good
360 to provide food, shelter, emergency supplies, and other
essential aid to affectedcommunities.
(12:39):
So we were, we were on the boatMelissa was in the Caribbean.
And, you could not tell.
They kept us very far away.
With that being said, it hitJamaica hard and we want to send
out our, you know, thoughts andprayers to Jamaica for speedy
recovery.
And another thing I want to saybefore we get into the cruise
thing was about the staff isthere was a lot of staff from
(13:00):
Jamaica on
Joni (13:00):
lot of staff on all,
Nick (13:03):
yeah.
On all cruise lines.
Cruise lines.
But while we were there, therewas several from Jamaica and
Joni (13:08):
our
Nick (13:09):
how they, one
Joni (13:10):
one very close to us
specifically.
Nick (13:12):
And how they kept their,
smiles and their, and their,
their dedication to, to whatthey do was absolutely amazing.
And you know, in the back oftheir mind they were
Joni (13:23):
Well, yeah.
Nick (13:24):
Yeah, we just want to, we
were lucky that we were able to
be on a boat that could avoid itand others were not so
fortunate.
And we just want to make surethat, you know, we know that and
we are thinking of that.
Joni (13:33):
Yeah, for sure.
Nick (13:35):
Well that's it for the
news I have.
Okay.
Joni (13:38):
So
Nick (13:39):
do you want to get onto
our, our cruise experience, our
first Disney cruise experience?
Sure.
Joni (13:43):
I went ahead and listed
our, um, attendance and, um,
wait staff, but you've alreadygone over them so well Go ahead.
I just want No, no, no, no.
I just wanted to have them as arecord, um, in here.
Sure.
And along with the photographthat we got with them because
they were so special and fun tobe around, they were, they
definitely made our experienceand our time a lot more
(14:03):
enjoyable.
They're only, serving dinners.
So it was a rotational dining.
Nick (14:08):
Yeah.
So our state room attendantagain was Les.
He was from Indonesia.
We did not get a picture withhim because, they're busy.
Yeah, they're extremely busy.
He would've, if we would'veasked him
Joni (14:17):
Of course.
But it was cute'cause every timewe'd pop out or you know, kind
of go down the hallway, weweren't far from an elevator,
but he would always be like, hi.
He would always see us,
Nick (14:26):
doing
Joni (14:26):
And yeah.
And we stopped him and talked tohim and I, he would make us
little, um, towel animals.
And I requested him not to messup
Nick (14:34):
He did?
Yeah.
Joni (14:35):
animals.
And he's like, well, it was acrab.
It was a crab and um, he
Nick (14:40):
moving it around the room.
Joni (14:42):
Yep.
He didn't touch it until Iactually unfolded it, and then
he made it into something else.
Then we got a snail and we got amouse and we got a pirate.
We got a crow.
Yeah.
It's cute stuff.
Nick (14:54):
So, yeah, K was from
Indonesia.
Joni (14:57):
Uhhuh.
Nick (14:58):
He was great.
Absolutely wonderful.
Joni (15:00):
Thank you, Cole.
Nick (15:01):
Thank you.
Yes.
And the first day, I don't knowwhat happened with our bag.
It, it was late in the day, likeit was getting pretty late that
we did not have our bag.
So I went out in the hallway andjust peeked around.
He was like five 30 at night, six 30 or something like that,
and he was out there and I said,Hey, you know, we don't have our
bag yet.
And he said, oh, you don't.
I said, no.
And he said, okay, lemme seewhat
Joni (15:22):
Oh, he said buy six.
That's where you're
Nick (15:23):
is that what he said?
Okay.
And he said, well, let, let mego see what's going on.
And I think within five minuteshe was at our door with our
back.
Joni (15:30):
Well, I think it had been
released because I, I know what
happened, and I'll tell you inhere in just a second, but, it
had been released, but it justhadn't been picked up from our
state attendant yet because theywere helping other people, you
know, because you can requestcertain sheets, you can
Nick (15:45):
request, right?
Yeah.
Different
Joni (15:46):
blankets.
You could, I mean, you canrequest different things.
So I'm sure he was busy doingstuff like that, but.
Um, so I have a bum knee and Ihad a, uh, red light, a portable
travel, red light therapy that'sjust like the size of a small
flashlight and it's batteryoperated.
Nick (16:03):
Probably got flagged.
Joni (16:04):
Yeah, it did get flagged
because there was a sticker on
our tag that said it wasinspected by canine.
So that's why our bag wasdelayed.
Okay.
Nick (16:14):
Well, with any, any rate,
he had our bag with us within
five minutes.
Yeah.
And then again, our wait staffwas rova.
He was from Jamaica, Lloyd fromthe Philippines, and Derek was
from Honduras.
Mm-hmm.
So again, thank you to everybodythat, um, and
Joni (16:29):
we're gonna post a picture
of, we got a photo with the
boys, um,
Nick (16:32):
Reva Lloyd and Derek.
Yeah.
We're gonna post a picture.
Last day he gave us a puzzle tosolve and uh, they kept coming
Joni (16:38):
Well, and then they
Nick (16:39):
giving us crap.
Oh, you almost got it.
You almost got it.
No, we don't.
Joni (16:42):
Well, and then they sang,
happy anniversary to us,
Nick (16:45):
sing Happy
Joni (16:46):
Reva says, do you know why
I'm here?
And I said, it's because I saidyes.
And he started laughing.
I mean, it was just fun.
They just made it so, light andfriendly and, you know, you
could joke with'em.
And it was just a great time.
I really appreciate it.
It wasn't, it wasn't all, um, Imean, it was, it was classy.
It was dressy.
Nick (17:04):
Mm-hmm.
Joni (17:05):
But.
You could be yourself.
Right?
You didn't have to like, I don'tknow, how do I strive
Nick (17:10):
Lloyd did say to us on the
first day, he said, part of
working on a Disney cruise shipis anything lower, than
excellent in Disney's eyes ispoor.
Joni (17:19):
Yeah.
Nick (17:20):
So that's what they strive
for and they exceeded excellent.
They really did.
Joni (17:24):
Yeah.
Nick (17:24):
So, thanks guys.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's go on
Joni (17:27):
And hope, hope everybody
gave you excellence.
Yeah.
Nick (17:30):
I don't know.
Anybody couldn't.
That was, that was great.
Joni (17:33):
so the first impressions
of the ship, what you got
Nick (17:36):
you got?
My first impression of the shipwhen we walked on, it was, it
was elegant.
The, the atrium's, very elegant.
Mm-hmm.
I, and that they have thatsmell.
I've always heard about theDisney cruise smell and that
smell hits ya.
And it is a nice smell.
I liked it.
I liked the feeling how theyannounced your name when you
walk on,
Joni (17:54):
announce your name.
Nick took us a short video of uswalking in and having us
announced and then got, thelarge, statue of Donald and, you
know, the, just the differenttiers of the floors.
Um,
Nick (18:06):
Yep.
I think balconies, I thinkMickey.
Mickey was Mickey up on thebalcony?
Joni (18:09):
left balcony.
Mm-hmm.
Um, it's a little bit smallerthan what I had anticipated.
Nick (18:14):
the atrium is small
Joni (18:15):
but it's big enough.
Nick (18:16):
Yeah.
Joni (18:17):
it's big enough.
Definitely
Nick (18:18):
and it's very elegant.
Joni (18:19):
Yeah, it is.
I liked it.
Nick (18:22):
I did.
Joni (18:22):
And as we said, our state
room experience, um.
Cola has helped improve that.
But Nick also did a video.
Nick (18:28):
took a video of our state
Joni (18:29):
our state room, so we're
not gonna touch too much on
this.
You know, we have the veranda.
Mm-hmm.
'Cause Nick's gonna post thevideo and go into more detail,
but it was really spacious.
Nick (18:41):
it.
It was when
Joni (18:42):
were 95, 38.
They chose our room for us.
Right.
We had a good view.
Nick (18:48):
view.
Um, the
Joni (18:49):
balcony was big enough for
the two of us.
It had accessibility for fourbeds.
We only obviously used the one,but the couch folded out and
then the,
Nick (18:57):
mm-hmm.
Joni (18:58):
Bed dropped.
I don't know what kind of bedthat's called, but it drops from
the ceiling.
Yep.
Um,
Nick (19:03):
The split bathroom.
Joni (19:04):
Yeah, the split bathroom
is huge.
I didn't, you know, I was like,uh, that's not that big of a
deal, but after having it, Idon't know if I can go on
another cruise line again.
Nick (19:11):
know what we're talking
about.
Disney has split bathrooms onthe majority of their rooms.
Not all, but the majority of'em,which means you have a toilet
and sink in one bathroom and inthe other bathroom you have a
shower.
Tub, a tub combo with and asink.
So you can have multiple thingsgoing on at once.
You know of getting ready forthe night or if you're in the
shower and somebody, you know, has to use the restroom.
(19:33):
You're
Joni (19:33):
or you know, if you're
bathing kids and someone needs
to use the bathroom.
That was huge.
It was absolutely huge.
Um,
Nick (19:39):
we can both get ready at
the same time.
Joni (19:40):
absolutely plenty of
storage space.
There was two closets.
Nick (19:44):
the bed was very high.
Way high off the
Joni (19:47):
Yeah, I wanna know
Nick (19:48):
of luggage under there.
Joni (19:49):
wanna know where these
mattresses and stuff come from
because I got home and we have apurple mattress.
Mm-hmm.
Nick (19:56):
It's those
Joni (19:56):
And I'm sleeping better on
the Disney beds
Nick (19:59):
it's the Disney
Joni (19:59):
I am at
Nick (20:00):
pillows.
I don't know where Disney getstheir mattress and pillows.
Joni (20:03):
looked at the tag.
Yeah,
Nick (20:03):
Yeah.
But they're, they're amazing.
Yeah,
Joni (20:06):
absolutely amazing.
I'm sure everybody is, can agreewith that.
Fabulous
Nick (20:11):
dining adventures.
We've already touched on thestaff, but they.
Honestly they make your diningexperience.
But as far as steaming goes, wehad the, the Royal Palace
Joni (20:21):
three restaurants that
are, that are included in the
dining, but then they have acouple of paid options on the
dream.
Right?
Nick (20:27):
So the main dining halls,
rotational dining, we had the
Royal Palace.
Um.
Animators Palette
Joni (20:35):
and Enchanted
Nick (20:35):
Enchanted Garden.
We started out an enchantedgarden.
They were all great.
Joni (20:40):
I, I liked it.
Nick (20:41):
They were all great.
Joni (20:42):
know, there's the
chandeliers in the enchanted
garden.
It comes, they, they look likeflowers coming from the ceiling
and the partitions all havegreenery, vine leaves and
whatnot.
Looks like it's growing up.
The lighting just makes it looklike you're, sitting outside
with like some sort of a coverover you.
It's just faintly comingthrough.
It's just great.
It's really,
Nick (21:02):
That fountain of, Mickey
Joni (21:04):
a fountain
Nick (21:05):
that Mickey or mini right
in the middle?
Joni (21:07):
I
Nick (21:07):
remember.
We can't remember which one itwas,
Joni (21:08):
that's where we got our
photo
Nick (21:09):
Yeah, we got, yeah, we,
you get our picture taken in
front of the fountain.
And then there was the royalpalace, which is more of like a,
what you would expect it to be.
Cinderella style.
Joni (21:18):
It had all the, it had
bell.
I mean, you go around differentparts.
There's big paintings of all theprincesses.
The bread basket had cutouts of
Nick (21:27):
Cinderella.
Joni (21:28):
Of Cinderella.
The China had, little.
They were very faint.
Mm-hmm.
Nick (21:32):
Mm-hmm.
Joni (21:33):
know,'cause the China was
ivory color, but then they had
white decor around them that youcould see like the carriage.
And just all the little detailslike that were just absolutely
amazing.
And the food was
Nick (21:43):
fabulous.
Food was great in
Joni (21:44):
you know, I, I only tried
one thing that I didn't care
for, but that's just becauseit's my personal opinion to it.
But everything was phenomenal.
Nick (21:53):
Is that the duck?
Yep.
Joni (21:54):
Not a duck fan.
I love Donald Duck.
And maybe, uh, yeah, no duck forme.
Nick (22:00):
And then the third was
animators palate, which was it's
kind of like if you've ever beento, uh.
Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot.
It's kinda like that.
There's TVs all over the place.
And there they, there's liveactors that
Joni (22:13):
well, and they rotate on
the TVs.
They
Nick (22:15):
do rotate throughout the
'cause.
It's a big restaurant, butyou'll see, like sharks swimming
by in the TVs.
You'll see it on this TV overhere, and then you'll see it on
another one over there.
Joni (22:23):
there.
Yeah.
It's like different views of theocean.
There's starfish in there, there's little fish that come up
and little turtles that'll dothings.
But what I thought was reallycute about that too was the
pillars are pencils and paint
Nick (22:35):
Yeah.
And there's art around there.
There's art of, you know, likeDisney art.
Um,
Joni (22:39):
and in case anybody's, and
in case anybody's wondering,
they, the shirts that the wait
Nick (22:44):
the shirts are amazing.
Absolutely amazing.
Joni (22:48):
You cannot buy them.
We've already asked.
Nick (22:49):
already asked, and Lloyd
actually said.
Somebody every cruise asked me.
Joni (22:54):
so
Nick (22:55):
he said, I can't even take
it home.
Joni (22:57):
So
Nick (22:57):
leave it here when I
Joni (22:58):
There you go.
Could you imagine though, ifeveryone purchased one, you'd
have a bunch of.
Nick (23:03):
of, oh,
Joni (23:04):
Guests, you'd have a bunch
of
Nick (23:06):
More bread over here,
more, more soda over here
Joni (23:08):
have them sitting down in
dining and it would be hard for
the head servers to know wheretheir, where their wait staff is
at.
Are they sitting?
Are they waiting?
Nick (23:18):
So, I got a couple
questions to ask you before we
move on.
Dining adventures.
Okay.
And this is what we're talkingabout.
What was your favorite themed?
My favorite dining hall.
Joni (23:26):
sakes.
I don't know.
I seem to like immerse myself inall of'em.
As far as the ambiance and theenvironment
Nick (23:33):
environment.
Yeah.
Joni (23:34):
So I, I really liked, I
would, I would probably say the
Enchanted garden
Nick (23:41):
That was your favorite.
Joni (23:43):
Very close to animator.
I mean, they're all so, soclose, but in order I would go
Enchanted, animator and Royal.
Nick (23:50):
Okay.
What was your favorite dinneryou had?
I, at the dining, at the dininghalls.
Joni (23:54):
At the dining halls.
My goodness.
I had so many.
Um, well, they had a prime ribthat was absolutely to die for.
You didn't even need a knife tocut it.
I've, I had chicken, I've hadthe steak.
I've had, oh my, I, I don'tknow.
Nick (24:11):
I know mine my favorite
theming.
I'm gonna answer my ownquestions.
My favorite themeing wasanimators palate.
I really like that.
And we forgot to mention aboutthe animators palate.
You get a butter knife that'sactually shaped kinda like a, a
paint
Joni (24:21):
brush.
Yes.
Nick (24:23):
And they do sell those in
the gift shop
Joni (24:25):
people were taking them.
So they do sell'em, don't take'em.
Yep.
Nick (24:28):
They're, they're really
Joni (24:28):
you'll go to Disney Cruise
Jail.
Nick (24:31):
Um, so my favorite was
animators palate, and my
favorite thing I ate there wason night number one and Channing
Garden was at steak.
That steak was delicious, probably, I'm gonna say,
Joni (24:45):
If
Nick (24:45):
the best steak I've ever
had.
Definitely one of the best.
It was
Joni (24:49):
everything was delicious.
Absolutely everything.
Nick (24:51):
Okay, so entertainment.
Disney is known for theirentertainment.
That's, that's what they do.
They're an entertainmentcompany.
What'd you think?
Joni (25:00):
The live entertainment I
you, as far as like shows and
different things like that.
You talking about all theparties, you talking about All
of it.
All of it.
I.
I enjoyed it.
I mean, it didn't go as far aslike, obviously it's an older
boat.
It didn't have like the icerinks, you know, like the big
ones here are having.
But for that boat, I think it'squaint enough and it's, it's
(25:21):
personable enough.
They had the characters come outand dancing in the crowds with
people.
Mm-hmm.
Um, and then they would do arotation.
And then the Beauty in the BeastShow was, I cried
Nick (25:33):
Beauty in the Beast Show
was, don't miss it.
Amazing.
Don't miss it.
I mean, it was, it's, it's a wowfactor.
Goosebumps.
It's, you know, it's the mo it'sthe story of the movie.
Joni (25:44):
Just the
Nick (25:45):
but just the way
Joni (25:45):
the scenery changes and
scenery
Nick (25:47):
changes and, even when
Beast and Gas on, you know, at
the end are fighting.
Yeah.
The, the, there was actorsspinning around the stairs, like
so, so like different cameraangles.
It was so, so cool.
And it starts snowing in thetheater when it's snowing on
stage.
just what you would expect fromDisney.
Just, just, um, top, top notch
Joni (26:09):
And then they had another
live action show, um, believe,
yeah.
That incorporated manydifferent, magical experience
shows or movies that are out.
What did it have just to touch afew?
It had, it had a insert from
Nick (26:23):
Beauty and the Beast.
Mary
Joni (26:24):
Poppins, lion King
Nick (26:26):
It's, it's, Jeanie is
along the adventure on this, on
this show.
He's one of the main charactersin the show,
Joni (26:32):
he does a fabulous
Nick (26:33):
does, he did really good.
Joni (26:34):
And he actually had some
crowd involvement too, like
Nick (26:36):
Yeah,
Joni (26:37):
he, yeah, he did, he
incorporated.
So a few people from theaudience.
Nick (26:40):
So, yeah, that was really
good.
Yeah.
Joni (26:42):
Had a magic show.
Magic show that was, I still amblown away as it was John
Armstrong and he's been, hewowed, pin and teller.
Yeah.
He's been doing it since ayoung, young age.
Yeah, it was great.
And then he actually had, um,you know, just to touch on a
little, he had a, where he wouldgo in and teach the kids how to
do magic tricks.
Yep.
And then he had an adults onlywe, we were involved in
(27:05):
something else, I think with asail away or the, uh, see real
soon party was going on when hewas doing his show.
So we didn't do that.
Yeah.
Or we were doing something else.
There's lots of activities.
Nick (27:14):
Um, from time you wake up,
time you go to bed, there's
Joni (27:17):
yeah, and Nick and I only
did the, obviously adult themed
ones, but there's tons of stuffgoing on for, for kids, all the
way up to tweens and teens.
So we didn't have thoseschedules to work around.
So I bet it would be moredifficult if, to try to
incorporate everything.
Just have a good time.
Just do what you can.
Don't feel like you have to doeverything.
'cause there's, you know, and alot.
Nick (27:40):
there's a lot to do.
They, and they had a movietheater on board, like a full
movie
Joni (27:44):
Buena Vista
Nick (27:45):
you'd go to, you know,
your local movie theater.
Huge movie theater.
Joni (27:48):
And they had a popcorn
area preludes right outside.
You can
Nick (27:51):
area.
Um,
Joni (27:52):
and zippers.
Nick (27:53):
we were on Halloween
cruises.
There was a lot of Halloweentheme movies.
We went and watched one movie.
We watched Hocus Pocus two.
Joni (27:58):
POCUS two.
Nick (28:00):
Um, okay.
I, I didn't care for it, but thetheater was cool.
It wasn't, wasn't packed.
We went to a late movie and, then the the Sailaway party,
that was really fun.
That was a lot of
Joni (28:13):
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
The Sailaway was neat.
I think the see her real soonwas fantastic.
Nick (28:20):
Yeah.
The end party, the see, sobasically it's like a farewell
party and it's, it's you know, they come out and say thank you,
and they dance, all thecharacters are out.
And then they, he came out,
Joni (28:30):
well, well, first of all,
let me go, let me back up.
We, there's a couple of daysthat we had where, where it was
available that you could, reserve the royal gathering.
I highly, highly recommend doingthat.
We
Nick (28:43):
We did it on the day
Joni (28:45):
We did it on the day one
because day, day two.
Nick (28:47):
Our first full day.
Yeah,
Joni (28:49):
Because you can get,
there's Ariel, there's,,
Cinderella, Cinderella, Tiana,Tiana, and, uh, Rapunzel.
Rapunzel.
You get to all of them photos.
Your littles can meet'em becausethey do have other meet and
greets throughout the days.
Nick (29:08):
The lines get long,
Joni (29:09):
the lines are long and you
can get'em all four done in a
matter of 10 minutes.
Nick (29:14):
Yeah.
Joni (29:15):
And then that way you can
focus on, because the characters
have their cruise gear, theyhave their Halloween gear for
Nick (29:23):
the crews.
Joni (29:24):
and then they have their
pirate
Nick (29:25):
Yep.
Joni (29:25):
Yeah.
So
Nick (29:27):
you want a picture of
Captain Mickey, um, pirate
Mickey, and then HalloweenMickey,
Joni (29:31):
it's three different
Nick (29:32):
and then you times that by
five of the characters.
That's 15 characters.
Yes.
Plus not including Chippendaleand you
Joni (29:39):
And Yeah.
Yeah.
And so I would highly recommenddoing the royal gathering.
It's not extra, it's just on areservation.
Reserv.
Nick (29:47):
reserve it.
Joni (29:48):
Get in there and get that.
Another one that they do haveis, there's Mulan showed that
was not in the, in the fourlineup.
Yeah.
And then over in the kids.
The only reason I know this isbecause for one, watching
videos, I can't say whichcharacters are on each time, but
I, we did have a brief encounterwith Darth Vader
Nick (30:11):
At the elevator.
Elevator.
So
Joni (30:13):
So
Nick (30:14):
random.
We, he wasn't listed anywhere?
Joni (30:17):
No.
Well, because he's on with
Nick (30:19):
the He was in the kids.
Joni (30:20):
So he was on his way over
to see
Nick (30:21):
the corner and there was
Darth Vader.
Joni (30:24):
Yeah.
Nick (30:25):
he was big.
Joni (30:25):
Yeah, he's very tall.
Very, very tall.
And he had one of his littleshipmates with him.
Not
Nick (30:31):
Yeah.
Directing him around.
Joni (30:32):
not a storm trooper, but
you know, that
Nick (30:35):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like a captain or rubble captain
Joni (30:39):
So the, but, so the kids
in the, but teens and whatnot
get different characters meetingover there.
I'm sure there was some Marvelcharacters, Spider-Man and Thor
and different things like that.
I'm sure met over there with thekids.
But there's a lot of meet andgreets.
So whatever ones you can compileinto shorter trips, I highly
recommend
Nick (30:57):
short meet and greets.
15 minutes.
Yeah.
And the cast members do a realgood job.
'cause like, let's say Mickey ismeeting on the balcony and then
Donald's right after him, there's a line forming and then
they will be very, there'ssomebody out there saying,
Mickey's line ends here.
Donald Line starts here.
Yeah.
So there's no confusion.
They're very good aboutdirecting all
Joni (31:16):
They have multiple meet
and greets going on, and they're
usually on deck three, four, which is nice.
Um, they, they'll have some, youknow, other obviously with the
kids, but that's what I liked.
I think what I appreciated is alot of the activity was all
Nick (31:33):
on three and four.
Joni (31:34):
it was all to one.
Nick (31:36):
Most of it, except for
deck 11, there's some stuff
going on, but that's the pooldeck, so there's always stuff
going
Joni (31:40):
I didn't feel like I was
literally running from one end
of the ship to another, likeback and forth, like four aft
you know, five forward.
Yeah.
Everything is like mid, mostlywithin the atrium area, so, but
it was, it was fun.
Nick (31:58):
Alright.
And the ca, we've alreadytouched on this, but the cast
members and service, can't sayenough about, about the service.
Joni (32:04):
All of'em, every encounter
we had guest services, every old
person in the stores, everyeverybody that we encountered.
Yeah.
Even, even going into therestroom, there'd be an
attendant in there and they werejust so friendly.
Nick (32:17):
Mm-hmm.
Joni (32:18):
So I just say return
kindness.
I
Nick (32:21):
I had a, a maintenance,
cast member.
He was like sweeping up thefloor and he saw me going into
the bathroom and he opened thedoor for me.
So just little things
Joni (32:30):
you know.
And these people, these castmembers, they work hard.
They do, they work long and theywork hard.
And um, uh, something I wannamention that I was told is that
Nick and I were both told isthat your boarding day and your
disembark day are the longestdays for them because they go to
(32:50):
bed.
I'm not kidding.
Like some between midnight, twoo'clock in the morning and they
have to turn around and get upat four or five o'clock in the
morning because they servebreakfast, breakfast and then
they have to clean up.
And then you've got the newguests coming on for the day and
they have to start all over.
So they're up.
So
Nick (33:07):
So your, your first day
getting on that ship, they've
been up a long time
Joni (33:11):
They've probably
Nick (33:12):
two or three hours
Joni (33:13):
three hours on your first
boarding day, so
Nick (33:16):
please
Joni (33:17):
Don't be entitled because
you're not, everybody puts their
pants on the same way, be kind.
You wouldn't want somebody totreat your children or your
family member rudely.
So just please be nice andrespectful.
That's all I gotta say.
And I know I say it a lot, but Ican't stress it enough.
I
Nick (33:36):
Yeah, that's true.
Very true.
The pools and recreation.
The pools, the, the only day wewent to get into a pool.
Joni (33:44):
a pool,
Nick (33:45):
It literally started, it
rained 20 minutes on our whole
trip and it started raining.
Yeah.
So we went to the hot tub in theadults area, but the main pools,
um,
Joni (33:54):
Donald Shape and Mickey
Shape.
Mickey
Nick (33:55):
and Donald's shape on this
boat.
They were both, they're bothgood pools.
They're
Joni (34:01):
but they're kitty.
Nick (34:02):
but they's, a huge TV on
the top deck that is playing
Disney movies the entire time ofthe whole cruise.
Joni (34:08):
sat and watched a little
bit of Winnie the Pooh.
We did.
Nick (34:10):
did.
And the, the adult areas is, isnice.
It wasn't overly packed.
Joni (34:15):
Yeah.
Nick (34:16):
I mean there was times
there
Joni (34:17):
they have, they
Nick (34:17):
but it wasn't overly
packed.
Joni (34:19):
And I like they have the
hot tub that kind of is right up
against the window.
Yeah.
You can see outside.
That's nice.
Nick (34:25):
And the dream has one,
they call it an attraction, or
no, they don't.
I think that's the other one.
It's called the Aqueduct, andit's, it's a slide.
I went on it a couple times.
Joni went on it once.
I liked it.
Joni (34:38):
liked it.
I tried to get Nick's video, butit was so bright out that I, my
eyes were, I got his feet and Ithought I was on him.
I was not.
So we will not be doing that.
But they also had another one.
They had the little kitty slide.
Nick (34:52):
Oh, yes they did.
Yes.
Yeah, because I kept tellingJoanie, we're gonna go on the
aqueduct to get ready for thebig slide.
Mickey's hand is holding up thatwater slide act, the kid slide,
Joni (35:02):
It's cute.
It.
Nick (35:03):
Excursion, imports a call.
So.
We have been to Cozumel before.
So we were only off the boat inCozumel for maybe an hour.
We just did some shopping.
Joni (35:12):
Yeah.
We didn't go out outside of the
Nick (35:14):
We went, we
Joni (35:15):
We didn't do any
excursions.
Yeah.
Nick (35:17):
Cozumel.
We kind of wanted to enjoy theboat while there was less people
on there.
Joni (35:22):
So we just got off, did
our little bit of shop and got
back on, had our lunch and
Nick (35:27):
yeah.
Went back
Joni (35:28):
what we wanted to do.
Nick (35:28):
do.
Yeah.
So, and then, um, our next stopwas Castaway Key, which was
great.
Disney's Private, an ownedisland in The Bahamas.
There's all kinds of stuff youcan do on there.
Water, water, sports, and, bikeriding.
They
Joni (35:39):
had, um, what are, what
are those boards called that you
stand on and.
Like Moana does.
I don't know what they called.
We saw a couple of kids doingthat and we were calling them
the little wayfinders.
We
Nick (35:49):
were on a pat, we did a
paddle boat for about a half
hour.
Joni (35:51):
I'd like to try that big
bike though, one time.
And you know what I really, really wanna do?
And we debated doing it thistime, but we decided to just do
the one I wanna do the submarineone.
Nick (36:04):
Was that in Cast?
I think that was in Cozumel, wasn't it?
No, I don't remember.
There was one in Castaway Key.
Joni (36:09):
Yeah.
And then they also have anotherone that might be kind of neat,
but they, they seemed like theywere going rather quickly.
I don't know if that was justbecause they were returning, but
they have glass bottom boats.
Nick (36:20):
I one you were, when we
were in Cozumel, I
Joni (36:23):
it on the side.
It's like glass bottom.
But my thing is the one I saw,it was going pretty speedily.
Nick (36:28):
One came by the ship.
I was out in the veranda bymyself.
Joni (36:31):
I'm thinking, how are you
supposed to see anything if it's
going that fast?
So hopefully, I'm thinking theywere on their way back so that
people on there were able toenjoy, you know?
Nick (36:40):
Yeah, MC Castaway Key has
several different parts of the
island.
Um, we spent most of our time atthe adults only,
Joni (36:46):
We stopped at the, we
stopped
Nick (36:48):
We stopped.
Joni (36:48):
or No, the, the one before
Pelican.
Nick (36:51):
There's shopping on the
island.
Joni (36:52):
Uhhuh, there's
Nick (36:53):
lunch.
They serve lunch on the islandwhen lunch was
Joni (36:55):
And it's, it's Disney, so
there's no cost of the lunch.
Yeah.
Nick (36:58):
Yeah.
It's free lunch.
One's included in your crews, Ishould say.
And the shopping.
Most of the shopping on theisland, use your state room card
to buy.
There was a couple like bohemianshops, you know, local shops.
I guess that didn't look likethey were affiliated with
Disney.
We didn't buy anything, but Idon't know if they would accept
the state room card.
Well,
Joni (37:18):
Cozumel did not
Nick (37:19):
no.
Cozumel is all privately, youknow, store
Joni (37:22):
We used our personal bank
cards.
Nick (37:25):
All right, let's talk
about
Joni (37:27):
cards.
Let's say one thing that wedidn't say, unless this is where
you're trying to incorporate it.
Let's talk about at the see areal soon party.
Yeah.
Nick (37:37):
getting,
Joni (37:37):
had get into the, oh,
Nick (37:39):
Yeah.
Joni (37:39):
yeah.
Okay.
Nick (37:40):
That was next on my list.
Sail Away party.
We touched on, what's theHalloween
Joni (37:44):
the little special thing
that went
Nick (37:45):
I know, we'll, we'll talk
about it.
Halloween nights are theircelebration of Halloween.
They had the Mickey's Masqueradeparty Uhhuh that was a lot of
fun.
It's on the top deck.
They all come out in theircostumes and they sing, all
kinds of Halloween songs.
It's a big dance party.
Joni (38:00):
Captain Hook comes out.
Nick (38:01):
Captain Hook
Joni (38:02):
Oh wait, is that No,
Nick (38:03):
no, no.
It was Pirate night.
Joni (38:04):
Oh yeah.
Duh.
So
Nick (38:05):
Josh.
So yeah, these were just all thecharacters in their costumes.
It was a big dance party is what
Joni (38:09):
is what it was.
That the one they get out on themiddle because they were out
intermingling in with the
Nick (38:12):
crowd.
Yeah, yeah.
They were out in the crowd.
Joni (38:14):
in the crowd.
It was a lot of fun.
Nick (38:16):
Yeah, it was, it was a lot
of fun.
So, uh, and then they gave, theygave out bags of candy.
Mm-hmm.
To, all the trick or treaters.
We did not trick or treat.
Joni (38:25):
No, no, we did not.
We just opted for the empty bagsand then we gave'em to the
oldest grand boys.
Nick (38:29):
Yep.
Joni (38:31):
And,
Nick (38:31):
pirate Night.
Pirate Night's fun.
Joni (38:34):
Pirate night is a lot of
Nick (38:35):
Pirate night, you get
fireworks at sea.
Yeah, you get a whole JackSparrow show, um, captain Hook
Joni (38:41):
and they will actually
tell you for the fireworks.
Let me back you up a little bitfor the fireworks.
They will tell you the side forthis particular boat, the side
that you wanna stand on, is
Nick (38:53):
they light'em off.
Starboard, you want to startstand on the opposite side.
Joni (38:57):
Yes.
And um, we op, we were up onthe,
Nick (39:00):
went to the duck above the
pool.
Yes.
The very top, well,
Joni (39:04):
we watched him
Nick (39:04):
deck, but Yeah.
And we had a great view.
Joni (39:07):
So, because I think if
you're on the other side, you're
more prone to having the slideand
Nick (39:13):
you'll get a, a block view
somehow.
Joni (39:15):
Yeah.
but anyway, hey, you're on aDisney cruise ship and you're
watching Fireworks at Sea, so Ithink that's cool no matter
where you are.
Nick (39:21):
so, yeah.
Pirate Knight.
The theme of that little show isCaptain Hook takes over the ship
or he tries to take over fromCaptain Mickey, and then there's
a big fight, or not fight, but abig thing.
And, but he dressed up like apirate.
And on this ship, I don't thinkit's on all ships.
But on this ship, they doprovide you, when you get back
to your state room to go getready to go out for the night,
(39:42):
you have pirate bandanas on yourbed
Joni (39:44):
for each paid person in
your room.
Nick (39:46):
Yep.
A Mickey Pirate bandana.
But yeah, you dress up like apirate.
We both dressed up.
Joni (39:51):
There were people there
that were literally like, I had
to do double takes.
I mean, there were grown adultsthat looked like
Nick (39:56):
like very well.
Yeah, like
Joni (39:58):
like Jack Sparrow.
Oh, and Jack.
Jack Sparrow's.
Actually another person that youget to meet on the ship too.
Nick (40:03):
Yeah.
Oh
Joni (40:04):
For the pirate.
Um, I forgot to say that.
And then they have Stitch andYep.
Yeah.
Nick (40:10):
So Pirate Knight's, a lot
of fun.
Mm-hmm.
And then the Sea Real soonparty, we kind of touched on it,
is their farewell
Joni (40:17):
they have, um, Tiana,
Cinderella?
Nick (40:20):
Yeah.
They all come out.
Joni (40:22):
I think only three
princesses came out.
That was it.
Ariel did not
Nick (40:26):
Then all the characters
come out and then,
Joni (40:28):
she?
I can't remember.
Yeah.
Nick (40:30):
then, like Jonie was, I
know what you're thinking.
Then they, the cruise directorcomes out.
Our assistant cruise director inour ship came out and he said,
okay, here's 10 minutes.
Here's your last chance, meetand greets.
Joni (40:41):
We had no idea what to
expect.
We didn't know what was goingon.
So all sudden we just saw allthe characters up on the stage
and all of a sudden thecharacter just split off into
their own area.
Nick (40:49):
They started walking
around the whole atrium and they
each had a spot.
And then the cast members
Joni (40:53):
the ropes, dropped the
ropes,
Nick (40:55):
and it was.
Chaos.
Joni (40:58):
It was
Nick (40:59):
absolute.
It was absolutely nuts.
There was these, but it wasorganized.
Organized.
The cast members were gettingpeople through and taking
pictures for families.
It was like speed dating.
It was, and they were like, comeon, come on, come on.
Okay.
Go, go, go.
Come on, come on, come on.
Go,
Joni (41:15):
What they would do is
they'd get a family up there,
they'd take the phone, they'dtake like four pictures and then
hand them the phone as they weregrabbing the next party's phone
to take theirs.
'cause they were trying to getas many
Nick (41:25):
right.
Trying to get as many familiesup
Joni (41:27):
And then the director kept
coming out and, oh, five more
minutes and everybody just keptgoing, going, going.
But they literally, I mean, howmany were there?
There were four.
There were, there was probably.
Nick (41:36):
it was
Joni (41:36):
10 or 11 or 12 meeting
Nick (41:38):
We were watching this, so
the, the, the party was taking
place on the atrium, on, on, um,deck three.
We went up to deck five to watchit so we could look down on it.
And I think that was the bestspot to watch at.
'cause you could see everybody, like it was like.
Nuts.
Yeah, it was crazy.
Joni (41:54):
We just kept looking at
each other in awe with jaw
drops.
We're like, what is going onright now?
But it was so cute looking atall these families just running
around
Nick (42:02):
Yep.
Little kids running
Joni (42:03):
for hugs
Nick (42:03):
the next.
No, no, no.
Just a quick picture.
Very quick
Joni (42:07):
But you know what?
I had made a comment to you thatevery single family that went up
there took fabulous pictures.
Like everybody was payingattention and the pictures were
fa were, they looked like theywere gonna turn out.
Wonderful.
Yeah.
On such a quick notice.
So yeah, I guess spontaneity isthe best.
Yep.
Nick (42:25):
so yeah, that's kind of
our takeaways on the bullet
points we have.
Uh, one thing we didn't touch onwas the, well guess we kind of
did, but the activities, triviagame shows.
Karaoke magic
Joni (42:35):
show,
Nick (42:36):
magic show,
Joni (42:37):
action shows.
It just, just
Nick (42:39):
in so much to do, you
can't do everything.
Because some of these thingsoverlap anyways and bingo.
Joni (42:45):
Oh, Nick won Bingo.
Nick (42:46):
on bingo.
I basically won our money backfor playing.
Bingo.
Joni (42:51):
But it was fun.
Nick (42:51):
adult themed game shows.
So the ship, what I did likeabout for
Joni (42:56):
kids, did you say Karaoke
for kids?
Well, karaoke.
Well karaoke.
But
Nick (42:59):
The thing I did notice
about this ship all, not all.
I would say most of the bars andlounges.
Joni (43:07):
or
Nick (43:08):
On one end of the ship.
So they keep that away.
They keep it separate and, andit's kind of cool how you go
because you just start walking, then you go to this place and
this ship called the district, and then each lounge and bar
leads into the other one.
Joni (43:20):
Yeah, they had a pink
champagne bar.
They had a evolutions, that'swhere a lot of the games took
place.
They had a, what was it?
6, 8, 7,
Nick (43:29):
District lounge.
Um,
Joni (43:30):
lots of, we did, we don't,
we don't drink.
We did kind of peek and look andwhatnot.
Nick (43:34):
a lot of
Joni (43:35):
a lot, but, but there was
a lot of adults hanging out in
that area, but it was,
Nick (43:38):
Yeah.
So they keep the bars for themost part separate.
And then we didn't touch on, ifyou are an adult and you wanna
see the Oceaneer Club, which isthe kids' club, you do that on
your first day because you, you're not allowed to.
You're not allowed to afterthat.
And we're so glad we did.
Joni (43:53):
Yeah.
We did it and we didn't evenhave children with us.
But it was such a huge,
Nick (43:56):
it's huge.
It's like the, almost the entiredeck.
Five I or no, I can't rememberwhat deck it was, but, it's
huge.
Joni (44:04):
Yeah.
They have a spot for, forinfants and the, the paintings
and just the, to, it's just sounique.
Nick (44:11):
something for every, they
have a nursery on board
Joni (44:14):
there's cribs there.
I mean, and they have special, you know, criteria that you have
to
Nick (44:17):
follow, right?
Joni (44:18):
different things like
that.
But they literally haveeverything from infant to.
Nick (44:23):
Teenagers.
Teenagers,
Joni (44:25):
it's split up into
different categories.
They've got a Marvel room, they've got a Star Wars area.
They've got, what was the littlebathrooms doors that you saw?
They have a toy story room that,I mean, it's just so cute.
And then they have a, Mickey andMinnie came out on stage dancing
in the Oceaneer Club and startedmeeting with the kids and
dancing and singing and whatnot.
It was so cute.
Nick (44:44):
activities, like we said
for kids are all day long too.
Yeah.
Um, just.
So, yeah,
Joni (44:51):
But I mean, as we said, we
didn't have littles with us on
this trip.
So if you, if this is somethingyou're gonna take advantage of,
I'm sure there's a lot ofinformation that we can't give
you'cause we don't know.
Mm-hmm.
So definitely I.
You'll learn a lot more thanwhat we're able to give
information on, but definitely,it's, it's really, really neat.
So I remember one hearing, oneman come, there was a, a show
(45:14):
getting ready to start for theHalloween tree in the atrium
lighting where the grave,
Nick (45:19):
the Halloween show?
Yeah.
Joni (45:21):
And, he came out and he
said, there's even stuff in
there for her to do.
And he was talking about, youknow, a little.
Little child that was sitting inthe stroller that they were
unaware of it.
So there's just literallysomething for everyone.
Nick (45:33):
And there is, um, I
overheard people talking about
it.
I didn't look into it.
I can't remember what the nameof the club is called.
It's 1720 or 1820.
Basically it's for teenagers, a20-year-old that's too old to do
something and too young to doothers.
They have their own special clubtoo,
Joni (45:49):
18 to 20
Nick (45:50):
and I, and they make
friends.
I did hear, when we were at thepool deck, I think I heard.
Oh, we were in the hot tub, I
Joni (45:55):
They're adults, but not
old enough to drink
Nick (45:57):
One of the other moms has
said, well, yeah, we finally ran
into whatever her son's name wasand they hadn't seen him in a
while, and they're like, he'sgot a whole crew.
Joni (46:05):
Yeah.
I mean, that's what it's allabout.
You go on and make
Nick (46:08):
They make friends and,
probably found each other on
social media, I'm sure.
And,
Joni (46:12):
Yeah.
And we, we got our door.
We got our door magnetized by acouple of guest
Nick (46:18):
We got,
Joni (46:19):
Yeah.
Um, we
Nick (46:20):
got a couple rubber ducks
and a sad mickey.
Joni (46:22):
let me back up a little
bit more too, because when we
did our mustard drill, this isgoing way back to the first day,
but when we did our mustarddrill, we did run into a couple
of, of gals that were in ourline with us and, we had
actually, Nick had had shirtsmade for us that have our, logo
on it and a QR code that takesyou right to our podcast.
And the gals behind us actuallyrecognized it and asked if they
(46:46):
could scan it.
And Jordan has listened to usbefore and her and her friend
Shannon, we met on the boat andthen we ended up sitting next to
them at, beauty and the Beast,or was it Believe Yeah, it was
Believe.
Oh, believe, yeah.
And
Nick (46:59):
yeah, so we,
Joni (47:00):
And we ran into'em at the
store.
So it was fun.
It was, it was nice to meet thegirls.
Hi Jordan and Shannon.
Nick (47:06):
hi.
Hope you had safe travels back.
And
Joni (47:08):
So anyway, I just had a
great time.
I would do it again.
I did buy my little Donald Duckminiature statue and I planned
to, go on all the Disney shipsand
Nick (47:18):
Well, we, we bought a
placeholder, so you can also buy
your placeholder holder, whileyou're on the ship.
You have to do it while you'reon the ship.
You put$250 for the placeholderbasically.
You're giving Disney$250 saying,I wanna book again.
And they're saying, okay, thankyou.
Here's, you have 10% off of yournext cruise.
You have 24 months to use it.
If you don't use it, it's fullyrefundable.
(47:39):
Don't get that confused with asa deposit.
So when you do go to use it, youstill gotta pay a deposit.
You're just basically saying,Hey, we want to come again.
And Disney says, well thank you.
Here's 10% off
Joni (47:50):
Yeah.
Nick (47:50):
is basically is what it's,
I would definitely, I'm sold on
Disney cruises.
I,
Joni (47:55):
Yeah.
Nick (47:56):
I know they're more
expensive than the other
cruises, but like I said, Disneyis an entertainment company
first and foremost, and theyshow that even on the ships
Joni (48:05):
Even being a, a place full
of children.
I mean,, I love people, young, old, whatever, but there was a
nice mix.
Yeah.
I mean, even the kids wererespectful.
They were so cute seeing'em intheir outfits.
I Oh, their costumes.
I had never seen, I had not seena boy go to Bibby Bob.
There's a Bibby bob on the boat.
I've never seen a boy, but I sawtwo princes that went to Bibb
(48:29):
Bobi.
Mm-hmm.
And it was just.
It was, it was cute.
Nick (48:34):
The, the costumes.
I'm, I'm glad we went onHalloween.
Just because the costumesmm-hmm.
The costumes were so, so cutethat I remember one that stands
out was, the Family of 101Dalmatians and the girl was
probably five and she wasCruella man.
She was, she was done up, shewas a perfect cruel.
Yeah.
I saw a Little Mermaid family, you know, dad was
Joni (48:55):
Incredibles.
There was some Incredibles.
Yeah.
Nick (48:57):
it was.
Every Disney character you canthink of was probably
represented at, at the co.
Somebody wore a costume.
Joni (49:03):
the couple, just a couple
with, no child with them was
dressed as Christopher Robbinsand Winnie the Pooh.
Nick (49:10):
Yeah,
Joni (49:10):
He was, he was carrying
around a little balloon with his
little short yellow shorts
Nick (49:14):
on
Joni (49:14):
and red T-shirt.
And his wife, or significantother was, or friend perhaps
was, uh, Christopher Robbins.
Nick (49:21):
Yep.
Jonie was Snow White and I wasdopey.
Joni (49:24):
yeah, well, I also had a
Rapunzel dress and I took a
Cinderella dress and I actuallyhad a cast member, one of the
shipmates that was in the whitegarb.
I don't know, a crew member.
As I'm boarding the elevator, their glass elevators, and she
mouthed to me.
I'm pretty good at mouthreading.
She mouth, I love your outfit.
And so I curtsied her as I wasgoing off the elevator.
(49:46):
So it, you know, they make itmagical for kids and adults
alike.
So if it's magical for us, canyou just imagine what it does
for these little hearts?
Nick (49:53):
I can't even imagine.
Joni (49:54):
what an experience,
Nick (49:56):
Yeah, it's totally
different experience from the
parks, which we weren'texpecting it to be the same, but
it's, it's completely different.
Joni (50:03):
Yeah.
It's nice to be able to have aquick place to go to, to relax
if
Nick (50:07):
oh yeah, you can just go
right up to your room and, you
know, take a
Joni (50:10):
there's not a lot of,
there's not a lot of seating
around the atrium.
Well, there is.
Off to the side.
Off
Nick (50:15):
to the sides.
But even like on the upperdecks, um,
Joni (50:18):
there isn't
Nick (50:19):
like looking down the
atrium, there's really no
seating, no plenty of places tosit on the top deck or the pool
deck.
We didn't mention the quickservice restaurants on the pool
deck.
There's four of'em there.
And, they have my taco place, aburger place, a sandwich place.
I don't remember the other one,but,
Joni (50:37):
We had tacos.
Nick (50:38):
Yeah, we had tacos.
Joni (50:39):
And you can take food.
We saw people bringing food intothe theaters.
Oh, yeah.
Taking, taking'em out to thepool area.
Yep.
But yeah, we had tacos.
Next time we go, we're onlygonna order one a piece though,
because they load'em so fullthat it's almost like you're
feeding a family of four on oneplate.
Nick (50:56):
But so yeah.
Overall takeaway, we bought ourplaceholder, so we're going
again.
We're definitely going again.
Yeah.
Like I said, Disney's known forentertainment and that's, that's
where the money is, the extramoney and free soda.
You get free soda on the ship.
Joni (51:09):
Yes.
You
Nick (51:10):
Every other cruise line
you have to buy a soda package.
Joni (51:12):
Yes, you do.
Well, I would do it again.
We are gonna do it again.
Yeah.
And if you have an opportunity,it's, I mean, it's not, it's
not, you know, if you save upfor it, if you're able to save
up for it.
I mean, we had to and it wasjust the two of us going.
Nick (51:26):
Yeah.
And there, you know, withDisney, even with the parks and
everything there, there's alwayssome kind of promotion or just
Joni (51:34):
it was a lot more relaxing
than a park.
Nick (51:36):
Oh yeah, for sure.
We park your go, go, go.
You know, here you can sit downin a pool lounge and,
Joni (51:42):
And a lot less people.
Nick (51:43):
So yeah, that was our,
Disney Dream experience.
Anything else to add?
Joni (51:47):
I don't think so.
I think we've pretty muchcovered everything and we've.
Been talking a long time.
These people are probably like
Nick (51:54):
I know.
Joni (51:54):
Where's the end?
Nick (51:56):
So again, thank you to all
the staff, especially the people
that, directly had directly withus, COIs, Reva, Lloyd, and
Derek.
Thank you so much.
In fact, when we were leaving.
Our breakfast, the last, thevery last.
Right before we got off theship, Derek said, well, I'm
gonna be on the dream untilMarch.
If you book another one, pleaserequest me.
So yeah, if there's nothing elseto add, I think that's gonna do
(52:18):
