nick (00:07):
Hello everybody.
Welcome back to the Main StreetTalk podcast, your podcast for
all things Walt Disney Worldrelated, the news and updates
and tips and tricks to make yourWalt Disney World vacation.
Much easier, more manageable.
My name is Nick, and as always,my wife is joining me.

joni (00:26):
Hi everyone.

nick (00:27):
here in the, in the Midwest, in Illinois, we, uh,
we're in the middle of a heatwave.
It is currently, what is it, 93degrees outside.
I think it feels like 101

joni (00:37):
second day in a row.
Second day in a row.

nick (00:38):
in a row.
Second day in a row.
And I think the next continue, the next three days.
Nice.

joni (00:42):
Yeah.

nick (00:43):
So we have that going for us.
Our air conditioner's beenrunning like 13 hours a day.

joni (00:47):
Do you ever have those days where it's just too hot to
even go swimming?

nick (00:51):
Yeah.
It's like that today.

joni (00:52):
It's very thick.
and

nick (00:54):
You walk outside and it feels like you're walking into
an oven.
Yeah, I mean, it's centralFlorida weather we're having
right now.

joni (01:01):
Yes.
Well, And I was doing wateringthe other day and just to hook
the hose to the spigot, thespout, I broke a sweat.

nick (01:09):
Yesterday I was hosing off my, uh, flip flops and my back
was a little, a little wet.
I was outside for 10

joni (01:16):
A little steamy.

nick (01:17):
Yeah,

joni (01:18):
Yeah.
It's pretty gross.
Yeah.
Stay inside.
If you're in the Midwest,

nick (01:22):
stay inside for sure.

joni (01:24):
Or Florida's hot this time too, I'm sure.

nick (01:26):
yeah.
I don't

joni (01:27):
complaining.

nick (01:27):
I don't even yeah, I don't even

joni (01:28):
Hey, this is just prep weather.

nick (01:31):
That's why we go in the winter months,

joni (01:32):
just prep weather.
Yeah.

nick (01:35):
But we have some very exciting news to announce here
at the podcast.
So we are going to start, youcan start entering this week,
but we're gonna start theprocess next week.
We are giving away some prizeshere.
So what we are gonna, what we'regonna do is we have these,.
You call'em like growth charts?

(01:55):
Yeah.
So you know the measuring thingsyou put on your wall and it, you
know, it shows you how tall yourkids are going.
We have some official, officialWalt Disney World ones and
they're really cute.

joni (02:05):
They are cute.

nick (02:05):
They have, they're just Disney decorated.
They say Walt Disney World onthe top and they have all the
inch markers all the way up to72 inches.
I think it's probably about 12inches wide or so, if I had to
guess.
And they had, they're just alldecorated with Disney
characters.
But the best part about it is ithas every attraction with
pictures and it says what it is,and it has the height
requirement

joni (02:25):
Mm-hmm.

nick (02:26):
so you can measure your kid as your dates are getting
closer to wild Disney World andyou know exactly how tall
they're gonna be

joni (02:34):
and what they can ride and what they can't.
So you don't wait in The linesor have to hunt somebody down
and or make the trek over to anattraction.
And then find out once you getthere that it's not allowed.
Right.

nick (02:44):
Right?
Yes.
So we're gonna give for the

joni (02:47):
Please don't leave your children in a stroller so you
can go off and ride a ride'causethey're not tall enough.

nick (02:52):
Yeah.
Don't, don't do that.
Actually, that's part of our tiptoday.
Oh, later.
Yeah.
So that's funny you

joni (02:58):
Oh, That's, just ties, right?
in then.
I had no idea.
Okay.

nick (03:01):
So, um, yeah, we're gonna give away, we have eight of
those to give away.

joni (03:04):
Wait a minute.
So you have to give a tip andtrick not to leave your
children.

nick (03:07):
Well, no, I hope not.
I

joni (03:09):
I'm sorry, I'm rambling.

nick (03:11):
Well, I don't know.
You never know.
Some people maybe,

joni (03:14):
Well, I've seen videos,

nick (03:16):
but, um, no, the tip or trick ties into that.
Okay.
So, um, but with these posters,we're gonna give away one a week
for the next eight weeks.
Okay?
Now the bonus giveaway is at theend of these, these eight weeks.

joni (03:29):
what is that?
What is that week end date?

nick (03:32):
Um, that I don't know.
It will just be next week willbe week one,

joni (03:37):
Is it next Monday?
Yes.
As Our air date?
Yes.
Okay.

nick (03:40):
So today is June 22nd.
This will air June 23rd.

joni (03:46):
This will air tomorrow.
Yeah.
We are recording on, um, on aSunday afternoon.
guys.

nick (03:50):
So, this will start next Monday, a week from, so that'll
be what, June 20 or June 30th?

joni (03:57):
No, honey.
That's not gonna be June at all.
We're in June right

nick (04:01):
Yeah.
I think it'll be June 30th.

joni (04:02):
Oh, oh, I'm sorry.
I thought you meant the end ofthe eight weeks.
Yes.

nick (04:05):
No.
Yeah.
So this starts next week, June30th.
Um, that'll be week one, but atthe end of this eight weeks, we
are giving a way a$50 eitherDisney gift card or Disney plus
gift card.
Now, the only rules to this, well, there's a couple rules.
If you win a poster.
You can only win one poster.

(04:25):
You cannot win multiple posters.
But if you win a poster, you areeligible for the gift card as
well.
So that's the only, caveat ifyou will to this.
So you can win a poster and agift card, but you cannot win
multiple posters basically.

joni (04:40):
posters.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.

nick (04:42):
So the way to enter is to go to our website, main streete
talk pod.com.

You know, subscribing to thisand you'll be entered.
That's all you have to do.

week, June 30th,

joni (05:19):
and eight weeks, then eight weeks from today, or eight
weeks from Tom.
Uh, next Monday.

nick (05:26):
Uh, I think it would be eight weeks from next Monday.

joni (05:28):
then eight weeks from then is August 18th.
is when we are going to, um, orAugust the weekend prior.
or are You including that?
When are we gonna draw for the$50 will it be the following?

nick (05:39):
follow we're going to, um, August 25th.
Yeah.
We'll do August 25th.
Okay.

joni (05:44):
So.

nick (05:45):
on August 25th.
So

joni (05:47):
the contest ends on August 18th and we will draw our winner
that week and we will.
Announce the winner on our 25thshow, August August 25th, Show.
Yes.

e-gift card or I don't know, we.
What, however you prefer, if youwin,

joni (06:19):
Okay.

nick (06:21):
So, yeah.
That's exciting.
Yeah.
Um, it's first time

joni (06:24):
And they are really cute guys.
they're they are paper.
I wish they were kind of cloth, but they are paper.
but They're super cute.

nick (06:29):
They're straight from Disney.
Um, being a travel agent, these, you know, we get promotional
items too.

joni (06:35):
Yeah.
And you can mark on'em.
So you can literally, as you're,you know, each year you take
your kids, it can be like asouvenir, like a memorabilia
that you keep, you have all yourchildren's ages from the time
you started taking'em till theiradulthood and you've got it all
marked on this.
And then if you turn it on theflip side, it's a banner.

nick (06:53):
Yes, it is.

joni (06:54):
it is.
And um, So you can, you know, have it vertical or horizontal.
Uh, so yeah, it is super cutethough.

nick (07:02):
And yeah, and

joni (07:03):
foldable paper

nick (07:04):
and even like you, let's say it's your first or your
kid's first time writing BigThunder that year, you could
even where the Big Thunder imageis on the poster, you could
write the date down and

joni (07:12):
yeah, sure.

nick (07:13):
Little Jimmy got to write it

joni (07:15):
Absolutely.

nick (07:16):
So yeah, they're really cool.

joni (07:17):
Or Big Jimmy.
Big.
If it's big Jimmy's first time

nick (07:20):
little Jim.
So yeah, just go to the website, main street talk pod.com.
I'll leave a link in the shownotes as well, just so you can
get straight there.
And, um, good luck to everybodythat enters$50 gift card.
Can't beat that.
You gotta save at Disney.

joni (07:36):
I wanna enter, can I enter You are or am I

nick (07:38):
You know, you're excluded.
I'm sorry.
I should have said that off thebat.
You know, when I'm, when I say,you gotta say whatever you can
at Disney, I'm reminded of, um,our last trip.
Before our animal kingdom stayon our travel day, we stayed at
pop century.
We went over to, uh, art ofAnimation to eat.
Remember there was that littleboy in there about eight years
old?
He was getting a soda at thesame time.
I was, I was

joni (08:00):
And our refillable cups.

nick (08:01):
Yeah, our refillable mugs.
So I was filling my mug and hecame up and he filled his, and
he looked at me and he said, yougotta get your money's worth.
You gotta get your money'sworth.
He said it two

joni (08:12):
is so cute.

nick (08:13):
So cute.
Obviously he heard his mom

joni (08:15):
Yeah, Of course, of course.
that definitely came from anadult.
So that's our promotion.
Um, let's get into the news.
We're gonna start at MagicKingdom.
I.
Walt Disney has confirmed thereturn of Disney's Celebrate
America or 4th of July.
Concerted in the sky at MagicKingdom.

(08:35):
Ooh,

nick (08:36):
Yes, it's coming back the 4th of July.
Fireworks will be perform, beperformed at 9:20 PM on July 3rd
and July 4th, happily Ever Afterwill not be performed on these
dates.
So, well,

joni (08:50):
Well, I think it's, I think it's a nice break in
there.
I mean, I love happily everafter.
but To see something, you know,so that just is all the more
reason why you should go on thesecond and the third, or the
fourth and the fifth.
You get to see happily everafter in the, yeah, in the July
4th shows.

nick (09:06):
Yeah.
You go on July 2nd and yeah, youcould see, yeah, both of them do
two consecutive nights.
It's kinda like going to during,Taking a trip like October 30th
through the beginning ofNovember.
'cause then you get to seeHalloween and Christmas

joni (09:19):
And the transition over.
Yeah.
But you do, um, you do miss thetrees going up because

nick (09:24):
that's true.
Yeah.
At the resorts.
Yeah.

joni (09:27):
We were at our, res, our home resort for a week and

nick (09:30):
we never saw Hunt.

joni (09:31):
Anticipating, anticipating seeing the tree.
And I think it was up just twodays after we, left,

nick (09:35):
yep.
So we're going back.

joni (09:36):
time after we left, but that's okay.
We'll see it guys.
We'll see it.
in real life.

nick (09:42):
So, July 4th.
Fireworks and Epcot will featurethe heartbeat of freedom after
Luminous the symphony ofSymphony of us on July 4th.
I don't, I know I threw Epcot inthere, but it was kind of
relevant to the, uh, thefireworks.

joni (09:56):
So let me ask this.
Yeah, that's, okay.
As we're speaking on Epcot,Luminous, what do you think of
that show?
'cause there's a lot of peoplethat aren't very,

nick (10:06):
I liked it.

joni (10:07):
They're not.
Okay.

nick (10:08):
I,

joni (10:09):
I liked it too.
I mean, I've only seen it theone time.
but There's a lot of people thatare like, say they, they're in
their opinions.
Harmonious, I

nick (10:17):
I think is what

joni (10:19):
Oh, is that the one that

nick (10:20):
people compare it to Harmonious and it's, I've never
saw harmonious.
But I, I think that was justabsolutely amazing.

joni (10:26):
yeah,

nick (10:27):
I, I liked it.
Okay.
Um, did you like it?

joni (10:30):
Yeah.
and I liked the band playing inthe Bandstand.
next door.
Yeah.

nick (10:34):
So, yeah, who was that?
And that was, 98

joni (10:36):
degrees.
I didn't wanna say it.

nick (10:38):
We were watching, we, we popped a spot for the fireworks
right next to the Americanpavilion where the stage is.
And, um, there's nickol, she, 98degrees, they were singing all
the hit.
They

joni (10:48):
weren't in the

nick (10:49):
98, they were singing, uh, Britney Spears and Backstreet

joni (10:52):
Yeah.
it was like a throwback.
For real.
Yeah, I'm dating myself, guys.

nick (10:56):
Yeah, I was like looking around and I look back and
Joni's videotaping him.
So I was like, oh, Nick cliche.
So back to Magic Kingdom.
The playground at Dumbo, theFlying Elephant and Magic
Kingdom will reopen later thisyear.
It was supposed to reopen in thespring of 25, but with summer
approaching around the corner,Disney has officially delayed

(11:19):
the opening.
Here is what the website says.
The indoor children's playgroundin the Dumbo Flying Experience
Queue is closed forrefurbishment, and expect to
open later this year.
The attraction will remain openand available during this time.
So the playground, it will notbe open on time.
And, um, the Starlight Parade.

(11:40):
This is, this is a big one.
Everybody's, this is weird.
I, this threw me off a littlebit.

joni (11:44):
little bit.

nick (11:45):
So the new Starlight Nighttime Parade.
Nighttime parade at Disney hasbeen confirmed, obviously, and
it's gonna start on July 20th.
Well, the parade will take placetwice nightly with showtimes at
a 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM withhappily ever after fireworks at
10:00 PM Now this parade isgonna go backwards,

joni (12:07):
backward,

nick (12:08):
is odd.
You know what I mean by that?
They're not gonna be goingbackwards.
The route is starting on Main

joni (12:15):
that.
Okay.
No, I know what you meant.
I didn't, think they were allgonna walk and dance backwards
No.
Drive backwards.
That's, that's kind ofdangerous.
No.

nick (12:24):
Um, yeah.
So the parade is going to starton Main Street.
Travel towards Frontier

joni (12:31):
both showings the nine and the 11.

nick (12:33):
That's what I found.

joni (12:35):
I wonder why they're doing, that.
I mean,

nick (12:37):
Oh, you know what I did read?
It's for crowd control.
Because if you start in FrontierLand and you end at Main Street,
everybody's gonna be towards theend of the parade at the gates.
And when the parade's done at11, especially, everybody's
gonna be at the gates already.
So they want it to go the otherway so people can see the parade
and leave.
You know what I mean?

joni (12:58):
Ah,

nick (12:58):
it's going the opposite.
It's going away from the

joni (13:00):
Ah.

nick (13:01):
so it's actually pretty smart.

joni (13:02):
Well, yeah.
Unless you wanna stay for thefireworks too, because then
you're sitting at, well, Isuppose you're at Main Street
and then, you know, by the gatesand then you're back by, you
know, we, we like all the areas, but we really like in front of
the castle by Mickey and Walt.
is a Really good spot to watchfireworks off to the side a
little bit.
But like we've said before, it'snice to watch'em down Main

(13:25):
Street too because you get theprojections on.
the buildings.

nick (13:28):
That

joni (13:28):
is that kind of contradictory though, if they're
going backwards for the nineo'clock show.
Because then you have fireworks.

nick (13:33):
But see, even with fireworks, if it starts at Main
Street, it goes to the hub andthen it's going to Advent or uh,
frontier Land.
Now the hub in front of thecastle is open'cause the
parade's already gone by.
So people can start standingthere.

joni (13:47):
Okay.
So I think

nick (13:48):
think it's smart.
It's, it's a crowd

joni (13:50):
yeah.
Well, somebody had theirthinking cap on when they did
that then.
Yep.
It took me a minute.

nick (13:54):
a, it took me a minute too, and I started thinking
about it and I was like, wait.
Yeah, that's,

joni (13:58):
mm-hmm.
that's a good idea.
Mm-hmm.
Boy, these, um, These, um,brains in this business,

nick (14:03):
they make the big bucks.

joni (14:04):
they do.

nick (14:05):
If it was me, I'd just have it going straight up Main
Street and turn around and comeback.

joni (14:11):
Well, now that he knows the shortcuts, he might

nick (14:13):
know Yeah.

joni (14:15):
If it was before he knew the shortcuts.
it'd be an awfully long parade.

nick (14:18):
Disney has adjusted the the operating hours at Magic
Kingdom starting July 20th, thepark will remain open until
11:00 PM nightly through atleast August 2nd.
So if you're going after August2nd, uh, keep your eyes peeled.
You can look at the My DisneyExperience app.
The calendar.
The calendar usually is set outfor about 60 to 70 days is when

(14:40):
they have the,, so if you'regoing in November and you see
the parks closing at five, that's just, that's not, you
know what I mean?
It's just in

joni (14:48):
Mm-hmm.
It's not

nick (14:49):
It's not official.
They haven't got to it yet.,Disney has filed a new
construction permit for the WaltDisney World.
Railroad station in FrontierLand, which is set to close soon
due to the construction of thecar's expansion and the villains
land.
Beginning on July 7th, theFrontier Land Station will be
closed and it will only be openbetween Main Street and, um,

(15:11):
storybook Circus.
Yeah.

joni (15:12):
Yeah.
Well, you talked about thatanother, in another episode,
That it was just gonna be like ashuttle back and

nick (15:17):
back and forth.
Yep.
Back and forth.

joni (15:18):
Yeah.
So that official is.

nick (15:20):
July 7th.
July 7th.

joni (15:21):
July 7th.
Yeah.

nick (15:22):
And they've already, they've already started filing
permits for construction on thestation.
I

joni (15:26):
Well, and I love that, um, that you included.
Disney's villain Land.
in that little uh,

nick (15:31):
Yeah, because, you know, why be I'm, the land I'm most
excited for is villains land.
But we're getting all thisinformation about Carsland and
Monsters Inc.
And nothing on villains.
And I don't know if they'redoing it on purpose, but they're
killing me.
So cars is coming to mindquicker.
And then I'm like, oh yeah.
Oh, villains,

joni (15:49):
Yeah.
yeah.

nick (15:50):
And, um, the Astro Orbiter has now began testing again.
No opening date Announced.

joni (15:56):
date, yeah.
Okay.
So

nick (15:58):
they're done with that.
They dismantled that whole thingand took it offsite and
refurbished it and brought itall back.

joni (16:04):
It's nice and polished for everybody.
should be,

nick (16:08):
I'm gonna go over to Epcot.
This is big news outta Epcot.
The test track presented byGeneral Motors will reopen on
July 22nd, 2025.
It's got a new musical score aswell as new scenes that
highlight technology, making ourcars smarter and our lives more
fun.
From the Disney Parks blog, oneof these scenes showcases how

(16:30):
vehicles can use advancedcameras and sensors to see the
world they drive.
Through Walt Disney imagineers, were able to represent this tech
utilizing over 29,000 points oflight.
While test track is alwayscelebrated new and future
automotive technology, it's alsoa reminder of what a road trip
is all about, spending qualitytime in the company of friends
and family while embracing thebeauty of the world around you.

(16:53):
The cast members will be able toexperience the attraction and
technical rehearsals betweenJune 27th and July 10th.
As with previous ride openingsand Reopenings, excuse me, cast
member previews are usually thefirst group allowed as the final
testing phase before opening tothe other groups.
Now, Disney also confirmed thatpreviews will also be held for

(17:13):
annual pass holders.
Club 33 members, Disney VacationClub members, D 23 Gold members
and Golden Oak residents.
But those dates have not beenannounced yet.
So Test Track has been downsince, I believe, June of last
year.

joni (17:30):
Well, their testing rehearsals with the cast
members.
Is literally a week.

nick (17:38):
Yeah,

joni (17:38):
right around the corner.
It's, It's less than, it's Lessthan a

nick (17:41):
Yeah.
Next weekend.

joni (17:42):
Yeah.

nick (17:43):
So, um, you know, I didn't, when we went.
What,

joni (17:47):
Huh?
Friday?
It's June, it's June 27th.
So yeah, that'd be,

nick (17:52):
Um, I thought because there's not a whole lot of
attractions at Upcott, you know?
I mean, I guess there is, butnot like other parks, you know?
'cause the world showcase,

joni (18:01):
Mm-hmm.

nick (18:02):
But I thought with test track being down every other
rides, their lines wouldcompletely sore up.
You know what I mean?
Wait times.
I didn't feel like that was thecase when we were there.
I mean, you, Remy and Frozen arealways gonna have

joni (18:18):
Yeah.
But Maybe it was just lesspopulated.
And then a lot of people Spend alot of time around the, around
the world showcase too.
So, Which can be a day all initself, visiting all that.
Yes.

nick (18:29):
That's, that's a big park.
So that's it for Epcot.
Big announcement for test track, and we're going over to Animal
Kingdom where we in Epcot, wehave some great news animal
kingdom.
We have some bad news.

joni (18:42):
Well, well

nick (18:43):
Bad, bad news for S,

joni (18:46):
yeah, let's

nick (18:46):
bad and good news because it's bad because something's
closing.
But it's good because

joni (18:51):
well, we, we understand that whole prospect and.
Approach to it when it, When onedoor opens another or what?
How does that go?

nick (18:58):
door closes, another door

joni (19:00):
Right.

nick (19:01):
But I don't know, for me, when one door opens, it just
shuts on my face.
So I don't know.

joni (19:04):
You mean when it closes?

nick (19:07):
Yeah,

joni (19:07):
we're all messed up right now.

nick (19:10):
So, according to Disney, the bone yard will have its last
day of operation on September1st, 2025.
This will mark the start of thesecond phase of construction on
the tropical Americas land.
Which as we know is replacingDino Land, USA.
But if you have kids, not toworry, they are putting in a

(19:32):
playground area in TropicalAmericas.
We, we don't have a lot ofdetails on what this playground
is going to be, but we do knowthat there will be a playground.
So the boneyard last day,September 1st, 2025.

joni (19:47):
25.

nick (19:47):
you're interested in going, trying to find some
Disney fossils.
Better get over to AnimalKingdom,

joni (19:52):
Mm.

nick (19:55):
That's it for the parks this week.
Oh, what do you got?

joni (19:58):
Well, I'm just gonna say the dyno has already been
removed.
And what about that bone?
I mean the uh, Chester andHester.
Dyno has been removed.
But what about the one that isat the entryway?
The boned one.

nick (20:13):
Oh, the Dina You mean the actual like dinosaurs?
Yeah.

joni (20:16):
The, yeah.

nick (20:16):
oh, that I don't

joni (20:17):
Is that, is that going, is that still up right now and
going to be

nick (20:21):
I have not heard.

joni (20:21):
yard's closing?
'cause It's, right next to it

nick (20:23):
could be, yeah.
I have not heard if that's beenremoved or not.
I've not read anything.
But they did make a big deal.
Not a big deal, but it, it.
It was widely known when theytook the, the big dinosaur down.
But that thing was huge.
The other one does, the otherone you talking about.
The one that's, um,

joni (20:38):
all bones that they at Christmas time they Put a
Christmas hat on it.
Yeah, that's the one I'm talkingabout.

nick (20:43):
So that's gonna do it for Park News this week.
Some good news and some badnews.

joni (20:49):
Mm-hmm.

nick (20:49):
that's gonna be the case for the next few years, I think.
Get excited about something andthen sad about something, but

joni (20:56):
But

nick (20:57):
look forward to the future.

joni (20:58):
Yeah.
And have some memories from thepast.

nick (21:01):
Yep.
Exactly.

joni (21:02):
Keep growing.

nick (21:04):
Yep.
Disneyland's never complete.
That's what Wild said.

joni (21:07):
That's right.

nick (21:08):
So over to Disney Cruise Line beginning today.
Sorry.
Going over to Disney Cruiseline, starting on Wednesday,
June 18th, Disney Cruise linehas lowered the required deposit
for future voyages.
The deposit, which was once 20%,has gone down to 10%.

joni (21:29):
10% deposit.
for cruises.

nick (21:32):
Yes.
How long

joni (21:33):
How long is this lasting?
or is, this uh, indefinite

nick (21:36):
to be their new operating procedure.
Wow.

joni (21:38):
Okay, so this just happened a few days

nick (21:40):
This happened a few days ago.
So this, um, this is pretty bignews because if, you know, if
you go on, if your cruise is, Idon't know, you pick a number,
it's like$4,000.
You know, you only put down 400hours as opposed to eight.

joni (21:53):
800.

nick (21:53):
Yeah, the 20%

joni (21:55):
Wow.

nick (21:56):
if you wanna pay for it over time.
So that's pretty big news.

joni (21:58):
Yeah,

nick (21:59):
That's, that's great.
For existing reservation.
I should have mentioned this, for existing reservations made
on or before June 17th.
The original 20% deposit remainsin place.
So this is for new, new, uh,bookings as of June 18th.
So

joni (22:12):
can you cancel your reservation, and redo.

nick (22:15):
I'm not saying what you can or can't do you, you explore
those options on your own but

joni (22:20):
may lose your spot?

nick (22:21):
Yeah, you

joni (22:22):
May lose your cabin.

nick (22:23):
May lose your room.
But um, if you wanna book aDisney cruise or a Disney World
vacation, you can contact me.
Oh,

joni (22:30):
Oh.
how do we do that?
nick.Garcia@academytravel.com.
I am an affiliate with AcademyTravel.
Um, you can go to our website, main street talk pod.com and hit
the, uh, get a free quote buttonand that'll come to me and I'll
get back to you.
And your services are free.

nick (22:48):
services are free.
The quote is free.
Everything's free until youstart paying on your trip.

joni (22:53):
But Only 10% down.

nick (22:54):
Only 10% now.
Good deal.
And, uh, I guess we're gonna goback over, we're gonna go over
to the resorts, at Disney Road.
I should have did this beforethe cruise lines, but That's
okay.
Um, Disney has announced the newpool area at Fort Wilderness is
coming, the meadow swimming poolarea.

(23:15):
At Disney's Fort WildernessResort in campground is being
expanded.
Here's a statement from Disney.
There's more magic on thehorizon At Disney's Fort
Wilderness Resort in campground,we're expanding the The meadow
swimming pool area to make roomfor even more fun and
relaxation.
A brand new zero entry pool anddeck area is being added

(23:35):
alongside the existing pool, effectively doubling the space
for guests to enjoy.
The expansion will also includea tennis court, two pickleball
courts, giving families evenmore waves to play together, and
the great outdoors and Theswimming pool and the wilderness
swimming pool will remain openduring work.
And speaking of resort pools, probably the, the most popular

(23:58):
pool at all Disney Resorts isreopening the storm along Bay at
Disney's Yacht Club and BeachClub Resort has reopened after a
six months refurbishment.
Storm and Long Bay is a threeacre pool that has been closed
for maintenance since January.
It features a sand bottom pool,a lazy river, and three
whirlpool spas.

(24:20):
During the closure, the pool wasresurfaced and the deck around
the water was redone.

joni (24:24):
A three acre.

nick (24:26):
Yeah.
We've never been to this pool.
I feel like we

joni (24:29):
Holy moly.

nick (24:30):
Beach Club.

joni (24:31):
And it has sand in it.
Yeah.

nick (24:34):
This is, this is the.
This is the Disney pool.
Like this is where everybodyloves it.

joni (24:40):
Wow.
Well, I'm sure it feels like thebeachy because you're you got
sand under you.

nick (24:45):
Yep.

joni (24:47):
Wow.
I

nick (24:47):
So I feel like we're gonna have to book one night there, do
a split stay sometime just to goswimming.

joni (24:52):
Just

nick (24:53):
Seriously.
'cause the, the shipwreck pooland water slide are still under
construction and remain underrefurb refurbishment until later
this year.

joni (25:02):
And

nick (25:03):
like I just said, only guests staying at yacht club or
Beach Club can use storm alongbay.
But I, from what I understand,it's like a mini waterpark kind
of, well kind of,

joni (25:13):
Well, yeah, three acres.

nick (25:15):
Yep.

joni (25:15):
I mean three acres is a lot.

nick (25:17):
Yeah.
It's kinda lazy river.

joni (25:19):
Yeah.
So I wonder, I mean it's, Idon't know how big the water
parks are.

nick (25:25):
No, I think they're quite a bit bigger.
But for a resort

joni (25:28):
Yeah.
That's insane.
Yeah.
I mean?
they're not gonna have all thewater, slides and you know, all
the things that, you know, thewater parks do, but I mean, it's
a close second.

nick (25:37):
Yeah.
I mean, for being right onproperty, right out your door.
Yeah, for

joni (25:41):
No kidding.

nick (25:44):
And Walt Disney World has extended the bounce back offer.
That started last fall, allowingguests to save 25 to 35% on
future resort stays.
Guests can save up to 35% onDisney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa
Resorts.
30% on.
Select Disney, moderate resorts, and 25% on select Disney value

(26:06):
resorts.
The bounce back offer is nowavailable into the fall of 2026,
and you have to take advantageof this deal as always, within
seven days of your checkout day.

joni (26:18):
Wait a minute of your checkout, so of your previous
one, you have to book your nextvacation within seven days of
checkout, of checking out ofyour current vacation, correct?
In order to get these.
Yes.
Well,

nick (26:34):
Yep.
And that is, that's pretty, um,genius on Disney's part because

joni (26:41):
Yeah, it gets people to book more, just like on the
cruise ships.
they want you to come, in withoffers and.

nick (26:46):
they tug, at your emotions

joni (26:47):
Mm-hmm.
Disney blues

nick (26:49):
is real.
When, when you have to leaveDisney, it's.
Very sad,

joni (26:53):
I know.

nick (26:53):
even as

joni (26:54):
All you're talking about in the last day of your in your
room Is when are we coming back?
Yeah.

nick (26:58):
So then they're, you know, they're like, well you have
seven days, 25%, 35%, whateverit is, you know, depending on
the, um, on the resort.
So I think it's genius marketingon their part.
And it's a good deal for

joni (27:12):
Well, sure.
You, You get to save money.
I mean, why not?

nick (27:15):
And what you can do with these is, um, like you can book
one and modify it.
You know,

joni (27:20):
month.
no.
Yeah, Elaborate.
What do you

nick (27:22):
Well, they can, it says they can still modify and cancel
reservations without penalty upto 30 days before their arrival.
So

joni (27:29):
let's

nick (27:30):
you book it for six months out, you're not locked into that
six months.
Like it's, it applies to thesame rule as another.
You can modify, so.

joni (27:40):
Okay.

nick (27:40):
So the same rules apply,

joni (27:42):
Okay.
And

nick (27:43):
and that is it for the Disney World News this

joni (27:47):
Okay.

nick (27:48):
outta Magic

joni (27:49):
Yeah,

nick (27:50):
That Starlight Parade that really threw me off.
I'm like, they're goingbackwards.
Why are they going

joni (27:54):
No, I think that's gonna be kind of

nick (27:55):
Yeah, it's, it makes sense after you think about it.

joni (27:58):
Yeah.

nick (27:59):
So our spotlight on attraction this week is the
Monsters Inc.
Laugh Floor.
Mike Wasowski.

joni (28:08):
Mike Wazowski.

nick (28:10):
So I'm gonna read straight from Disney's website.
Participate in a hilarious gagtastic, interactive comedy show,
starring monsters, inkingcompany.
This is any height.
All ages A Mons funny show.
Step Inside The Only LaughFactory in Mons opis, and make
your way into a comedy clubhosted by a monster of

(28:32):
ceremonies, Mike Wazowski.
These scare actors love toengage the audience.
Don't be surprised if you becomepart of, become part of the
show.
Inspired by the Disney and Pixaranimated films, monsters Inc.
And Monsters University, thisattraction scares up some
monster laughs.
You got a good joke.
Text your favorite joke beforethe lights go down and it could

(28:54):
be used in the show.
Watch Mike S's video while youwait and listen for the
instructions.
Standard text messaging feesapply.
I'm just reading what it says.

joni (29:05):
So The Monsters Inc.
Laugh Floor is a interactivestage show.
There's um, obviously no heightrequirements.
It's a two tier multi-pass.
Um, and it also is a 10 to 15minute show and.
um, it's super cute.
They have people going aroundthe audience.

nick (29:26):
It is a live action show, meaning that, there are behind
the scenes actors and it's live.
It's not prerecorded.
So they interact with the crowd, like, turtle talk with Crush.

joni (29:39):
Okay.
So they do have, staff members,Cast members, rather Going
around with microphones And theyhave camera crew that will zoom
in on you and, and, um, ask youquestions or mm-hmm.

nick (29:51):
Where are you from?

joni (29:52):
Yep.
Different things like that.
Yeah.

nick (29:54):
And, uh, yeah, they interact with the crowd.
So it is a comedy show,

joni (29:57):
Mm-hmm.

nick (29:57):
but, it's animated, but they interact with the crowd.
So it's really, really neat andI was looking into the history
of it.
This was an attraction circle, vision 360 film called The
Timekeeper That opened in 1994,a time traveling robot voiced by
Robin Williams.

joni (30:16):
Oh neat.

nick (30:17):
Oh

joni (30:18):
So when did it become the Laugh Floor?

nick (30:20):
The Lav four opened in April of 2007.

joni (30:23):
Okay.

nick (30:24):
So in 2001, monsters Inc.
Came out, and obviously it was ahuge hit.
So, Disney was thinking aboutwhat could replace the
timekeeper.
Mm-hmm.
Monsters Inc.
Seemed like a good fit.

joni (30:35):
Mm-hmm.
Well, it must be because they'rebuilding the whole land for it,
so, Yeah.

nick (30:39):
Yeah.
I like Monsters Inc.
I think,

joni (30:41):
I mean, and it'd be a 2007.
Um, Walt Disney.
When did it come out?
In

nick (30:45):
the movie?
Yeah.
2001.
2001.

joni (30:47):
2001.
Show.
So we're, we're going on

nick (30:50):
six years.
Oh, oh, you mean

joni (30:52):
what do you mean?
I mean, just all together?
yeah,

nick (30:54):
yeah.
So the story behind theattraction is after discovering
that laughter produces moreenergy than screams, the
monsters decide to open a comedyclub and you do have the, the
meter.
On the side and you have yourlaughter has to get up

joni (31:09):
a certain mm-hmm.
and Roz is in there.
with, with her Threats You know, you need to fill out your paper
work.

nick (31:18):
And one thing that, um, this show is known for, I think
they do it every show is is theysingle in on one man?
Yes, man.
And he's that guy.

joni (31:30):
He's that guy.
Don't be that

nick (31:32):
And they.
Go back to him

joni (31:34):
Yeah, it's fun.

nick (31:35):
The cameras go on'em, and it, it's really fun if you're in
there and the person, that guyis really, cooperating with the
show.
You know what I mean?

joni (31:45):
Oh yeah.
Some

nick (31:46):
people just,

joni (31:47):
Yeah.

nick (31:49):
So that's pretty fun.
It does get a, Christmas overlayand a Halloween overlay, so they
do, you know, Halloween jokes,Christmas jokes,

joni (31:57):
Mm-hmm.

nick (31:58):
so, um.
But like I said, we, we justdon't know what's gonna happen
to it with Monsters.
Ink land coming,

joni (32:04):
Yeah.

nick (32:05):
it.
Does it

joni (32:05):
Nothing's been said.

nick (32:06):
there?
Yeah.

joni (32:08):
don't

nick (32:08):
what happens with it.

joni (32:09):
as of late.
I would keep it'cause it is sucha cute

nick (32:12):
in tomorrow way.
Would you keep it in tomorrowway where it?

joni (32:14):
Well, yeah, they're, Come on, they're monsters.
Yeah.

nick (32:17):
I don't know.
I think I would move it.

joni (32:18):
Move it.
Where would you move it?

nick (32:19):
In the Monster Zine clan In the Muppets

joni (32:21):
Oh,

nick (32:22):
I don't know.
That's what I would do.
They might have other plans

joni (32:25):
I'm sure that's a lot of Just moving around instead of
rebuild.
They could, you know,

nick (32:31):
Yeah, but they can put something in else in there.
I don't know.
Lots to be seen.
Lots of

joni (32:36):
questions.
Lots, lots,

nick (32:37):
Lots of questions.
that's our spotlight onattraction.
It's a super fun, super funattraction if you've never been
there.
And a great break, you know, yousit down, how long did you say
it was?

joni (32:47):
10 to 15 minutes.
10 to 15

nick (32:48):
10 to 15 minutes.
10 to 15 minutes.
So there's, that's 10 to 15minutes of air conditioning

joni (32:51):
Yeah.
Getting off your feet.
Yep.

nick (32:54):
So

joni (32:55):
and I don't remember.
I think you can take snacks in

nick (32:58):
I believe you can.

joni (32:59):
So, um, if you've got a bag of popcorn or a pretzel, or
you know, Mickey Bar or anythinglike that, you can take it in
with

nick (33:08):
Don't leave your trash.

joni (33:09):
leave your trash.

nick (33:10):
your trash.
Take your trash with you.
It's kinda a disheartening thing

joni (33:14):
Yeah.

nick (33:15):
World and a lot of trash

joni (33:16):
Yep.
Well, and the thing of it

nick (33:17):
but you see it and it's like, cast members are good to
pick it up,

joni (33:20):
right?
Well, the thing of it is, isthat especially in attractions
or shows like that, If if youleave things, then eventually
all that's going to cause is notbe allowed to bring them in In
the first place.
So when you, when when thingsare left, it's not a win
situation for anybody.
Somebody's gotta pick it up.
and you're gonna.

(33:41):
Ruin the perks for everyone elseat some point.
Just

nick (33:45):
cause you can't take a, a mickey wrapper out with you.

joni (33:48):
Yeah.
And you hurt your mom's feelingstoo.
for not picking up afteryourself.

nick (33:55):
So, uh, so yeah.
So now we're gonna get to ourtip, which gets back to the
Don't leave Your Kid in the Sho

joni (34:02):
Oh, Yes.

nick (34:03):
Which please don't leave your kid in the sho.

joni (34:06):
or your husband.

nick (34:07):
Husband.
Well, if you, if there was astroller from my size and you
could push me around,

joni (34:11):
Oh no.
Never gonna happen.

nick (34:13):
never gonna happen.
I mean, I don't know how manyyears away we are away from
renting, uh, scooters.
But

joni (34:17):
well, those are electric babe.

nick (34:19):
are electric babe.
Those are electric.

joni (34:21):
I don't gotta push

nick (34:22):
push you.

joni (34:22):
that.

nick (34:23):
Uh, so this week's Tipper Trick is Writer Swap.
Some people don't know aboutWriter

joni (34:29):
Swap.
Okay.

nick (34:30):
What is Writer Swap?

joni (34:32):
What is Rider.
Swap?
Rider

nick (34:33):
Swap basically is, let's say you are two adults and a
3-year-old at Disney World, andyou both wanna ride Tron,

joni (34:41):
well, trons a little extreme, but

nick (34:43):
or anything like, ever anything, anything with a height
requirement that your 3-year-oldcannot go on.
So what you do is you go up tothe cast member.
Working.
Um, usually, you know, they'reout there in front of the
attraction.
You tell them I wanna do a riderswap.
So they will scan your magicbands or your card, whatever you
have.

(35:04):
And let's say mom can go on theride and dad and the 3-year-old
wait for mom.
When she's done, dad gets to goon the ride, but they get to go
in, I believe in the lightninglane line.
So, basically it's, um, soeverybody can ride all the rides
they want to ride.
I.
You know,

joni (35:23):
now we did do this.
We did with Tron When we took, the, when we took our grandsons.
We did do this, um, Nick and ouroldest went, our youngest was
not tall enough, so this is theone ride he could not go on.
Um, that was open.
And then when they got done.
Um, he asked the oldest grandsonif he wanted to come with me as

(35:43):
well.
and he said, no.
He didn't wanna ride it again.
No.
but He

nick (35:48):
it, but,

joni (35:49):
but I don't remember how exactly the Rider swap works.
So if mom goes first, dad stayswith child.

nick (35:57):
Mm-hmm.

joni (35:58):
Mom comes off, mom stays with child.
Dad goes, what does Dad need todo specifically?
Go to the cast

nick (36:03):
member, go to the cast

joni (36:04):
and tell them what

nick (36:05):
have, those tablets and they'll scan the magic band

joni (36:08):
Okay.
So, so mom in theory would haveto let the cast member know also
that I'm doing a writer swap.

nick (36:17):
you all, everybody goes up together initially with

joni (36:20):
that initially,

nick (36:21):
they scan everybody's

joni (36:22):
Okay.
I couldn't remember how we didthat.
I knew there was a.
certain Approach.
Okay.

nick (36:26):
they'll scan

joni (36:27):
Okay.
I, it's coming back now.
I'm remembering.

nick (36:29):
But yeah, the, the cool thing about that, that I was
unexpected, I don't know if itwas just that cast member or if
it's just a rule, but, um, ouroldest grandson could've went
with, with each of us.
He chose not to, but

joni (36:40):
yeah.

nick (36:42):
I would've,

joni (36:43):
well, I know you would've, but he did.
He did sit on it and look atyou.
Yeah.
Terrified and say, grandpa,

nick (36:53):
he liked Tron.
There's

joni (36:54):
nothing holding me in.
But the, but the back, the backDoes come, the back does.
Lower onto your lower back.
and, And then The legs, um,

nick (37:04):
you in.
The legs

joni (37:05):
they come behind the calves and then.

nick (37:07):
then

joni (37:08):
arms do not

nick (37:09):
cause you're

joni (37:10):
just the back.
Yeah.
And it's a snug fit.
They do have a bike.
that out front that you cantrial to make sure, you know, to
kind of see how it's gonna fiton your body if you've got, you
know, some joints or whateverthat don't bend as well or um,
you know, things like that.
But it does, it does put you inthere pretty, tight.

(37:30):
it does.

nick (37:31):
And, um, I mean we'll get into more of this when we do
Tron Spotlight, but if you'renot able to get on those bikes,
the last cart on each train areregular seats.

joni (37:41):
Yes.
So, yes.
So even people in, um, those ofthose folks that need to use
wheelchairs or Exactly, um, themotorized vehicles.
But you do have to transfer.

nick (37:54):
Yes, you do have to transfer.
It is, it is like a regularroller coaster seat.

joni (37:58):
Yes.

nick (37:58):
Um, but yeah, our oldest grandchild, we got on the, TRON
light cycles.
We just first sat on him and helooked at me and he said,
grandpa, there's nothing holding

joni (38:10):
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.

nick (38:12):
I said, just wait

joni (38:13):
just give it a second,

nick (38:14):
it a second.
And then the bat came down andhe looked at me.
He's like, okay.

joni (38:18):
He was fine then.
But um, there is a ride photo onthere as well.
And.
Yeah.
Hope everybody looks good withtheir hair slicked back.
because That's what you're gonnaget.
It's, it's fun though.
And, and there's usually a castmember standing out, at the
beginning of the attraction, youknow, a photo pass cast

nick (38:41):
Oh, yeah.
Yep.
With the,

joni (38:42):
that has the ring, that you can, that Yeah.
That you can take photos withand, and she's got some neat
poses and things like that, soyeah.
It's pretty cool.
And they've got, um, is, is thatone of the magic.
Shots.

nick (38:55):
I don't, we did not get a magic shot.
We, no, maybe there

joni (38:59):
The boys got the, the boys got the photos.
We didn't even do the photos.
but the boys did.

nick (39:04):
No, yeah, they did the, with the rings, right.
Or those discs.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We didn't get a magic shot overthere.
But

joni (39:10):
guess I'm not quite sure where all the magic shots are.
throughout the park.
That's something We'll lookinto, And let everybody know.
'cause we'd like to know too.

nick (39:16):
and I don't know if it's like one day, one person can do
it and another, you know what Imean?
Like, I, I don't know.
How would they do magic shots?
Like if it's designated spotsor, you know what I mean?

joni (39:28):
I think it's designated spots.
because The one we got aroundthe tree, when did, we did do
that one.

nick (39:34):
Yeah.

joni (39:35):
That was, that was a spot To be.
in.
So I mean, and it doesn't, youcan't pick and choose.
I mean, you can go and do everysingle magic shot if you want
to.
If you,

nick (39:45):
but some of them, what do I mean?
Like some of'em just haveThumper or you know, just a
random tinker belt flying.
You know what I mean?

joni (39:51):
Oh yeah.

nick (39:51):
Oh yeah.
But I mean, like, you know,

joni (39:53):
I'm talking about the Avatar okay.
Okay.
I think we're on the, I thinkI'm talking something different
than you.
I understand where you're comingfrom.
I'm talking about the one.
Where we did around the tree andit did the 360 shot or and then
we did, and then we did The onein, um, Galaxy's Edge with the
ship

nick (40:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

joni (40:12):
boys.
Um, Those are the ones I'mtalking

nick (40:14):
Okay.
No, I was talking about themagic shots where they put in
like, a banshee over

joni (40:17):
yeah, yeah,

nick (40:19):
yeah, those photos are, uh, the zoom in photos are cool.

joni (40:22):
Is that what they're called?
I mean,

nick (40:24):
I don't know what they're called, but those, the
Millennium Falcon one is a Zoomin, and in that one we have a
really cool, one of Christmas.
When we're standing in the hub

joni (40:33):
Mm-hmm.

nick (40:34):
Kingdom.

joni (40:35):
Oh, I forgot about that?
one.
that's cool.
cool, Yeah.
And then It zooms out and youcan't find a, it's like, where's
Waldo?

nick (40:40):
Yep.

joni (40:41):
Uh, yeah.
And then It zooms in on you.
So Yeah.
That's Renee.
Oh, I haven't seen that one fora long time.
I forgot about that.
Yeah,

nick (40:47):
That's a cool picture.
So, well, I

joni (40:50):
know, you get pictures, so you have the memories and

nick (40:53):
then they get buried somewhere.

joni (40:54):
you just gotta look at'em frequently.
So come Christmas.
We're just gonna play all ofour.
Pictures on repeat

nick (41:01):
when the family's

joni (41:01):
Yeah, sure.

nick (41:04):
Have the, the chipmunk singing Christmas

joni (41:06):
Yeah, exactly.
Chippendale.
of course.
So, and there was another thingguys that I talked about, we
were gonna do on a weekly basisor as, as it arose, um, do
birthday shout outs to thecharacters.
However, I'm finding that a lotof.

(41:26):
there's a lot of opinions onwhen these birthdays actually
fall, and Nick had actuallyhelped out a little bit and
found that there's only threeofficial birthdays noted by
Disney.

nick (41:41):
Yep.

joni (41:42):
So

nick (41:43):
which are Mickey Mini and Donald.

joni (41:45):
So we are not going to do that birthday shout outs,
however, we will go ahead.
And beginning next week.
Once I get my life together overhere.
'Cause this was a little bitnewer news to me.
I was struggling trying to findall these dates because they
were all so conflicting I wasgetting two and three separate
dates.
We will start going into, um,maybe each, Disney movie and

(42:10):
talk about its first, the firstappearance.
And give a little somethingabout, um, I don't know if we'll
go chronological order.
We'll go alphabetically order.
we'll go.
I don't know what, Just arandom, I suppose we can do a
random too., So yeah, that'sgonna be a lot to cover.
'cause there's a lot of Disneymovies, movies and stuff out
there Some of them come frombooks.

(42:30):
Some of them come from plays.
Some of them are from the, youknow, the Original originals are
From the 1600.
Right.

nick (42:37):
Some of these characters have existed for centuries.
It's just Disney turned theminto a movie.

joni (42:41):
Yeah.
Yep.
Like Pocahontas.
Yeah.
And CI Cinderella.
Yeah.
And there was another one that Iwas, um, I can't think of the
name of it.
I can't remember it, but, She's,she's supposed to be 8,800 years
old Really?
Or ago, so, yeah, it's, anyway,we'll get to more of that, I

(43:02):
promise.
I'll do my homework and get youguys up to speed.
So,

nick (43:06):
yeah, looking forward to that.

joni (43:07):
Okay, good.

nick (43:09):
