I'm your host, Nick.
(00:28):
And as always is Joni.
Hi.
So we are recording on July 5th,so all the news will be current
to July 5th, and we just want tosay, hope everybody had a great
4th of July weekend.
I know we did hope it was a safeand fulfilling weekend with you
and your family.
We had a, mini block party atour house.
(00:48):
We live on a court.
So, uh, our neighbor had a lotof two of our neighbors had a
lot of fireworks, so we, we hada cookout, had some friends and
family over and lit allfireworks all night.
Well, until 10 o'clock.
Joni (01:02):
Oh.
It was like, it was a little bitbefore 10.
Yeah.
'cause we have a, we have anoise curfew, which I'm sure
most people do.
Yeah.
And we respected it and
Nick (01:11):
Yep.
And so in Illinois, we havelegal and illegal.
They've gotten a little morelenient on what they consider
legal, but um, our
Joni (01:20):
neighbor had the illegal
Nick (01:21):
yeah, our neighbor went to
Missouri and spent a lot of
money.
So we had some pretty big ones, but it was a fun time.
No police were, were called.
So.
That's right.
Joni (01:30):
That's right.
Nick (01:31):
That's always a good
Joni (01:32):
We definitely let, let
Freedom ring for
Nick (01:35):
yeah, it was, freedom was
booming.
Two of our youngest grandkidsover.
Wish we had.
Four grandkids here, actuallyone, one's a baby and the one is
seven.
And then we had a three and a2-year-old, and I didn't know
how the three and the 2-year-oldwere gonna react because they
were so close to the fireworks.
I mean, they were a safedistance, but
Joni (01:53):
had earphones or like the
headphones, the noise canceling
for'em, just in case.
Nick (01:57):
they loved them.
Joni (01:58):
didn't even need
Nick (01:59):
No.
I
Joni (02:00):
They laid on a blanket and
Yep.
Nick (02:02):
Had m and ms and, Glow
sticks and yeah, I didn't know
Joni (02:05):
how that's because there
was like 83 kids in our front
yard at one time.
Nick (02:09):
all the neighborhood kids
were running around our yard
getting
Joni (02:12):
Playing tag in the dark
with glow sticks
Nick (02:14):
and we had a two month old
here, but he slept through it
all.
Yeah,
Joni (02:17):
Yeah.
Nick (02:18):
He didn't see any.
Joni (02:19):
Nope.
That's okay.
He'll get his time.
Nick (02:22):
He'll get his time.
So, uh, this is exciting.
This is week number two of ourWalt Disney World Growth Chart.
Poster.
Giveaway,
Joni (02:29):
Yeah.
Nick (02:29):
Week one winner was last
week.
we contacted the winner and thegrowth chart poster is in the
mail on the way.
So this is week number two, andthis eventually leads up to the
big prize, which is that$50Disney or Disney plus gift card
to be given away on August 25th.
That's
Joni (02:46):
That's right.
Nick (02:47):
right.
So the week one winner is noteligible for any more posters,
but.
Joni (02:51):
they
Nick (02:52):
They are still eligible
for the gift card
Joni (02:53):
remains in the running for
that.
Nick (02:55):
Yep.
So, exciting.
Joni (02:57):
sharing, tell your
friends.
Nick (02:58):
Yeah, all you gotta do is
subscribe.
If you are subscribed to ouremail list, you are in it.
So, you can just go to ourwebsite, main street talk
pod.com, and there's a subscribebutton on there.
Just enter your email and youare in it.
Joni (03:13):
Okay, and with that, let's
get onto some news.
Nick (03:17):
Let's get on some news.
A lot of news coming outta Epcotthis week, but we're gonna start
with Magic Kingdom just because,I don't know, on our vacations
we always start with MagicKingdom.
So we're just gonna
Joni (03:27):
because that's a two day
or that's a two day park for us.
Nick (03:30):
So, the only thing I could
really find on a Magic Kingdom
that was, that was, newsrelated, like, you know, there's
always stuff coming out ofthere, but not enough.
Not really worthy to talk about, but, Disney has cut down
hundreds and hundreds of treesin the backstage area of Magic
Kingdom to set up the lay downyard for cars land.
And there is constructionvehicles back there, so, they're
(03:52):
getting ready, they're clearingland.
Joni (03:55):
I know it has to be done,
but I'm gonna be devil's
advocate here in cutting downall those trees
Nick (04:01):
It's gotta be done.
Yeah.
Joni (04:03):
what's going on?
I mean, I know it has to be doneto make way for the room for it,
and I know they do a good job.
You know, they even.
Harvest plant and harvest theirown food, you know, for the
restaurants and for the animals, the animal kingdom and things
like that.
But that's a lot of trees.
Nick (04:20):
It is a lot of trees.,
It's a lot of, a lot of work
that has to be done and theygotta have room
Joni (04:25):
well, maybe they'll plant
some others around the
surrounding area.
Nick (04:28):
I, I saw a picture of
where the, the trees were, being
removed from.
Joni (04:33):
Mm-hmm.
Nick (04:34):
And I know they haven't
officially announced where
villains land's gonna be, butthe lay down area for cars looks
like it might be where villainsland will be eventually.
But that doesn't make much senseto me because why wouldn't they
use the same lay down area forboth lands?
Joni (04:47):
Mm,
Nick (04:48):
I don't know.
The overhead just kind of looklike that to me.
Joni (04:51):
I don't know.
For as many times as you keepsaying lay down, it's making me
think of the song.
Lay Down, Sally.
Lay Down.
Anyway, it's kind of late here.
Nick (05:01):
It is late.
It was a long weekend.
Joni (05:04):
yeah, very long.
Nick (05:05):
So, uh, we're gonna get
over to Epcot.
Okay.
A lot of the news is coming outEpcot, and it all revolves
around test track.
Mm.
Well, not all.
Most of it though, so the DVCmember preview has been
announced for test track.
The DVC member preview will beplaced on July 12th with
registration opening on July 8thfor those who meet the
(05:26):
eligibility requirements.
To participate in the preview, you have to have a qualifying
Walt Disney World Resort Hotelreservation booked prior to July
6th.
You have to use your membershipto book the resort stay.
Joni (05:42):
Tomorrow guys,
Nick (05:43):
Yeah.
Well, at the time we'rerecording.
Joni (05:45):
yeah.
We're not gonna have this outfor that.
Oh,
Nick (05:47):
That, oh.
Um,
Joni (05:49):
everyone got in on it that
wanted it.
Nick (05:51):
They have to use their
eligible membership to book the
resort stay, and you have to bestaying at the resort on the
event date, which is July 12th.
Now, when they say eligiblemembership.
I, I believe that means, um, youhave to be a blue card member.
You have to be, you have to haveall the, the bells and whistles
of DVC, so the resale memberswill be excluded from this.
(06:12):
Okay.
Joni (06:12):
Okay?
Nick (06:14):
And with that also, Disney
has announced that the annual
passholder preview for the testtrack, we'll take place July
13th through July 19th, with theexception of July 17th, when
there will be no previews.
And I couldn't, I didn't see whythat was.
What
Joni (06:30):
What is the 17th, the
date?
What day is that?
Nick (06:33):
I don't know,
Joni (06:34):
Let me look,
Nick (06:35):
but just 80 minutes after
Disney announced the annual
passholder previews, it hadalready reached reservation
capacity for pass holders on thefirst day, which is July 13th.
So took an hour and 20 minutesfor them to announce past holder
days for the opening day July13th, and it was sold out.
Joni (06:56):
Wow.
Nick (06:57):
Yeah.
People have been waiting for
Joni (06:58):
Yeah, everybody's sitting
by their computers waiting for
that news to drop.
Nick (07:03):
Pass holders will need to
follow a two step process to to
participate securing a parkreservation for Epcot on the day
of the preview, and then joiningthe virtual queue using the My
Disney Experience app.
So those are pretty big news forthe DVC members and annual pass
holders.
And like I said, I don't know ifanybody got a chance to see the,
uh, video that's been, that'sbeen out there of the new test
(07:25):
track.
It looks amazing.
Joni (07:26):
Did Disney put that video
out?
Nick (07:28):
I don't think so.
Joni (07:29):
so.
Or was it another
Nick (07:30):
No.
Disney has put like clips hereand there, but, no, I think the
one I watched was not officialDisney.
Joni (07:38):
Okay.
Nick (07:39):
But it was, it was
Joni (07:40):
so just basically get on
Google.
And
Nick (07:42):
Yeah.
Yep.
Joni (07:43):
yeah, it's happening.
Okay.
Nick (07:46):
I didn't put this in the
news, but I did read this,
apparently during the castmember preview, you know, when
you're, before the doors open, you know, when you getting ready
to go outside and launch intothe, you know,
Joni (07:55):
yeah.
Where we got stuck, the,
Nick (07:57):
The, the track.
Vehicle hit the door.
Joni (08:00):
Oh no.
Well, that's a good thing.
They're doing the testings
Nick (08:03):
Yeah.
That's why they test
Joni (08:04):
That's why they took,
maybe that's why they're closing
it on the 17th to repair thedoor.
Nick (08:06):
know, but I, at least for
the rest of that day, the door
remained open.
Joni (08:10):
Oh
Nick (08:11):
I understand.
I don't, it didn't hit it, youknow, it wasn't
Joni (08:13):
well, yeah, it's not gonna
be like an impact, hopefully,
but you never know.
I mean, that thing goes fast.
That's the fastest ride.
Nick (08:19):
But I, I mean, you launch
after the door's open, but.
I, I don't think it waslaunched.
I think it would've been a muchbigger story if it was launched
and they crashed through thedoor.
Yeah.
Joni (08:28):
I don't think it would be
opening for trial runs into the
public soon if that was thecase.
Nick (08:33):
It did hit the door
though.
Joni (08:35):
Oh no.
Oh my gosh.
Was it empty?
Were there people in it?
There numbers on it.
Oh no.
What an experience that was.
Huh?
Nick (08:44):
When it does open to the
public and July 22nd test track
will be part of the tier onelightning lane.
Okay.
It's, it's kicking Sorin out ofits spot.
Joni (08:54):
Okay.
Sorn
Nick (08:54):
will be a tier two when
test track opens.
Joni (08:58):
Okay.
So I'll have to change that inmy notes'cause I've got a log
where I keep track of all thetier and the rides and mm-hmm.
And whatnot.
So I won't change it now becauseit's not the 22nd, but I will
make a note to change thatupdate.
Nick (09:11):
Yep.
Soren getting booted to tiertwo, which I completely
understand.
Test track's gonna be, verypopular for at least a year.
And Sorin is,
Joni (09:20):
I love Sorn.
What you gotta say about Sorn?
Nick (09:23):
I like Sorin, but if you
can go later in the day and have
a 30 minute wait.
Joni (09:27):
Mm-hmm.
Nick (09:27):
You know?
Then also at Epcot, Disney hasreleased the full 2025 Eat to
the Beat concert series lineup.
Joni (09:35):
Mm.
Nick (09:35):
This is, uh, Epcot
International Food and Wine
Festival.
The concerts will take place onselect nights from August 29th
through November 17th.
I, there was a list of all thebands.
I obviously am not going to, gothrough all those'cause there's
a lot What I can do.
I can put it up on our blog.
Joni (09:53):
do that.
Because I was literally gonna belike, okay, well you sit over
there and do you and I will gosearch for the list because I'm
curious.
We can name a few of the, well,I suppose it's gonna be
generational too.
Nick (10:04):
Yeah, they, they, the
article did say, there's a lot
of the regulars, I think likeJoey Fatone is always there, or
he is there a lot.
I didn't see all the regulars,but, okay.
I'll put that up on our
Joni (10:14):
Yeah,
Nick (10:16):
So,
Joni (10:16):
wanna check that out too.
Nick (10:18):
Yeah, it's, there was,
it's a big list.
Like I said,
Joni (10:21):
why Yeah.
It's for the entire festival
Nick (10:22):
Starting August 29th.
Joni (10:24):
yeah, the food and wine
starting August through
November.
That's, that's a long time.
Nick (10:29):
August 29th through
November 17th.
We were there.
We, we were there in November.
We must have just caught the endof food and
Joni (10:35):
we were there in August
also.
No, We, we, we didn't go to, wedidn't go there
Nick (10:41):
didn't go to Epcot.
No, we just went for theHalloween party.
Joni (10:43):
just went to the parties.
Yep.
Nick (10:44):
And, over at Hollywood
Studios, Walt Disney
Imagineering filed their firstpermit for construction at the
Muppet Vision 3D Theater.
So that just closed, what wasit, two weeks ago?
And they're already filingpermits, so they're, they're
moving, is a good thing.
And under my miscellaneous
Joni (11:02):
I think.
I bet they, I bet they keepsomething,, like near and dear,
like a wall or some sort ofmemorabilia
Nick (11:08):
be Easter eggs in there
for sure.
I
Joni (11:10):
if they'll have a net full
of jello
Nick (11:11):
I don't know.
They could Yeah.
You know, they should have, um,
Joni (11:15):
I think they should have
Kermit's tuxedo.
Nick (11:17):
or the two, old Muppet
guys that sit up, sit up in the,
um, balcony.
They should have those
Joni (11:23):
grumpy old men
Nick (11:24):
Yeah, they should just
have them like.
Somewhere sitting up in thattheater still like very
unnoticeable.
But you know, that would befunny.
Yeah.
Joni (11:32):
Yeah.
You know what, it'd be cute, kind of cute too, as if every so
often you hear their voicesgoing, I can't believe they took
it out.
Nick (11:38):
Yeah.
Joni (11:38):
believe they booted us.
I can't believe they evicted usor something.
You know, just every so oftenthey give a comment here or
there.
Nick (11:44):
would be funny.
That would be.
Joni (11:44):
That would be funny.
That would be.
Nick (11:46):
And under miscellaneous
news, Disney, uh, blizzard Beach
Waterpark will close, presumablyfor its annual refurbishment in
September, according to theoperating calendar on the
webpage for Blizzard Beach.
The waterpark will have its lastday of operation on Sunday,
September 7th.
So, that happens every year,
Joni (12:07):
Mm-hmm.
Nick (12:08):
but it's different this
year.
I think in, I don't know so muchlast year, but this year,
because everybody gets a freewater park on their check-in
Joni (12:16):
day, right?
Nick (12:17):
And now you're, you're
going from two water parks.
One.
Right.
And people will arrive at DisneyWorld obviously every day by
the, I'm sure the thousands.
So hopefully the water parks orthe one water park will be able
to handle that capacity.
Joni (12:35):
when you get your, when
you get your, free water park
day.
You get to choose whichwaterpark?
Nick (12:40):
Yeah.
Either one of them.
Joni (12:41):
Okay.
And the other one is going to beremaining open.
Yep.
So per our trip, November.
Yep.
Is this still going to beclosed?
So are we only narrowed to theone park for our visit in
November?
I'm gonna say.
Nick (12:59):
based on past, yes,
because
Joni (13:01):
So it's gonna be closed
for a while.
Nick (13:03):
Yeah, it usually does, but
this may be different because
the free water park day remainsto be
Joni (13:09):
pile everybody over into
the other, at least they've got
the other one up and running
Nick (13:13):
right?
Yeah.
Joni (13:13):
So what I, I guess what
I'm getting down to initially,
now I've got the answer, butjust to clarify, we are going to
still have the availability of awater park when we go in
November.
Okay.
Nick (13:25):
there, barring any weather
events, there's always at least
one open.
Okay?
Yep.
Joni (13:31):
because for some reason I
was thinking that they had one
shut down for a long time.
Nick (13:36):
Um, yeah.
They, and that
Joni (13:38):
it was even talk of, maybe
not even reopening'cause it just
sat so for so long on the
Nick (13:42):
no, I don't think they
were talking about not reopening
it.
One is very closed for a longtime.
I think summer's the only timethey're both actually open all
the time.
I've never been to the water
Joni (13:53):
I know.
That's why I'm excited to go andI really would like.
I, it would be nice to have theoption, but as long as one or
the other is open, we can stillget a
Nick (14:01):
Yeah.
Don't that, wouldn't that besomething They advertise free,
uh, free water park on check-inday.
And they're both
Joni (14:08):
Yeah.
It's like an
Nick (14:09):
both closed for.
Joni (14:10):
song.
You got me quoting songs overhere all night.
Isn't it ironic?
Okay.
Well
Nick (14:17):
that's the news.
We got
Joni (14:18):
one.
We got one that we can still do.
Nick (14:20):
Yeah, that is the news.
So I guess it's time now for, what are we doing?
Joni (14:26):
what are we doing?
Nick (14:27):
Our week two winner
Joni (14:28):
drum roll.
Okay.
Nick (14:29):
Again, while Joanie gets
situated over there, I'm gonna
explain how this works.
Joanie has the wheel spinner.
I have the list of names.
We are at opposite ends of atable.
I cannot see her computerscreen.
She cannot see mine.
I have all of our subscribersrandomly numbered.
And every person is assigned anumber.
(14:52):
Joni has mobile spinner,
Joni (14:54):
I will spin.
I will give you the number.
You will read the winner.
Exactly.
Nick (14:58):
That's
Joni (14:58):
In a nutshell.
Nick (14:59):
In a nutshell.
In a, yeah, in a nutshell.
Was I going way too?
Joni (15:02):
Yeah.
You were rambling.
Nick (15:04):
I was giving you time to
get ready over there.
I'm ready.
Joni (15:06):
I'm ready.
Yeah.
Okay, let's go.
You gonna count me down?
Nick (15:10):
3, 2, 1.
Spin.
Here we go.
Joni (15:15):
spinning.
It's got a little ticker noise,but I know you guys can't hear
it because we have thebackground noise Muted.
Um, it is number 26.
Nick (15:24):
Number 26.
Let me get there.
Let me get there.
Let me get there.
26, Brenda.
Congratulations, Brenda.
Joni (15:36):
Brenda.
Woo.
Nick (15:37):
you have the numbers 1 9 6
4 in your email address.
So if your name is Brenda withthe numbers 1 9 6 4, somewhere
in your email address, you arethis week's winner.
Joni (15:50):
Congratulations, Brenda.
Congratulations.
Nick (15:52):
Growth chart poster will
be on the way.
We will email you probablyTuesday or Wednesday to get
your, uh, shipping informationso we can get that out in the
mail to you.
So congratulations, Brenda.
Joni (16:03):
fantastic.
Nick (16:04):
Week number two, winner.
Will you be week number three?
Winner?
Joni (16:08):
Yeah.
Nick (16:09):
So we're gonna get into
our spotlight on attraction this
week.
This one is exciting.
Okay.
Joni (16:14):
Okay.
Nick (16:15):
This closes out tomorrow.
Land.
Joni (16:16):
yeah.
Oh.
So wait, which one's left guys?
What's the last one?
Nick (16:22):
Any
Joni (16:23):
been, who's been
listening,
Nick (16:24):
been paying attention?
There'll be a quiz on, onMonday.
Joni (16:28):
Yeah.
Nick (16:29):
It's tron.
Okay.
The Tron Light cycles, thenewest.
I, when I say the newest.
Attraction at Magic Kingdom.
I know Tiana's technically iswhen you're talking about big
attractions, but Tiana's was rethemed this, I'm gonna say the
new newest constructedattraction at Magic Kingdom.
So, uh, what do you got overthere,
Joni (16:49):
Well, I have that it is a
thrill ride, indoor and outdoor
roller coaster.
Let's see it, uh, the Disneydescription says, ready, set,
launch into the exhilaratingworld of the grid at Tron.
Light cycle run.
I do have.
Some, um, little sideinformation on it before we get
(17:12):
into some details.
It's based on the 1982 film.
Tron was a pioneer in usingcomputer generated imagery and
live action blending.
The light cycle run coaster isthemed after light cycles from
the movie and takes rider on ahigh speed race through the
digital world.
So this ride, the vehicles are,Standard seating.
(17:36):
They're designed like amotorcycle with guests leaning
forward, that may not besuitable for all body types or
those who prefer a more uprightposition.
And as we have stated before, ina previous, um, show, there is
a, there is a light cycleoutside.
In the queue line that you areable to test out, test out, and
(17:56):
see if it's comfortable for yourfit.
You know, because it does kindof squeeze you and it comes up
on your legs and behind yourback, and you do have to lean
forward, you know, for all you, motorcycle riders out there.
Um, you guys know exactly whatwe're talking about, but it can
sometimes feel kind ofconstricting., In any case, this
is a, height requirement of 48inches.
(18:17):
It is seven trains with sevencars.
The riders are arranged twoacross in a single row for a
total of 14 riders per train.
Now, if you have a wheelchair ora scooter type vehicle and you
want to ride this, the scootersin ve electric vehicles are not
(18:39):
allowed in the queue.
You have to transfer to awheelchair.
Once you get to your train, youdo have to be able to transfer
into either the light cycleitself, or for those folks who
need a bench, there is limitedbenches.
Just let one of the cast membersknow as you're approaching that,
(19:00):
that's what you would prefer.
Kinda like your more
Nick (19:02):
like your more traditional
roller
Joni (19:03):
Yes.
Yes.
And it has a door, a side door, and it has a lap bar.
Since these are limited.
It does prolong the wait time.
But the cast member can get youinto the right area that you
need to, if you are a person whoneeds to have, the bench seating
as opposed to the light cyclerun.
So this ride is a lightninglength single pass, so it is
(19:26):
something that needs to bepurchased on your own.
Do you have any info on whatthat
Nick (19:31):
I don't know the pricing,
because it, it, they fluctuates
so bad and I, I haven't evenlooked at the pricing recently,
but, it does, the more busy thepark is, the more expensive it's
going to be.
But it does, it is a standbyqueue as well.
You don't have to buy the singlepass.
Okay.
I suggest it.
Some people like to, some peopledon't.
Yeah, so it, it ranges, youknow, based on park, capacity.
Joni (19:56):
Well, and it is a cool
ride.
You know, obviously everybodyknows that it lights up and the,
the, the rims on the lightcycles light up and the, the,
canopy structures that are overthe coaster, since it is indoor
outdoor, those light up, it'sjust a really, really cool.
Nick (20:10):
yeah.
You stand under that canopy atnight all day and just watch'em
go by or all night and watch'emgo by and the the grid is
lighting
Joni (20:17):
grid is lighting up.
It is so cool, guys.
And so this ride, does have anaction photo.
It is a one minute duration
Nick (20:26):
It is a pretty short ride.
Joni (20:27):
is a pretty short ride
because it goes 60 miles an
hour.
I think this is the secondfastest test track being the
first.
Nick (20:37):
Is it?
Joni (20:37):
Think this is.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
If anybody knows if I'm givingfalse information, please call
me out.
I've got tough skin.
It won't hurt my feelings.
I,
Nick (20:46):
I, I can't think of one
that would be fa The only one
that maybe popped in my mindthat would be close is
guardians, but I, I think tran'sfaster in guardians.
Joni (20:55):
I, yeah, I know.
Well, test track I think gets upto like 70 or something like
that, I think, or, you know, midsixties to 70.
This ride opened up in WaltDisney World April 4th, 2023.
So,
Nick (21:08):
oh, wow.
I didn't realize.
So we went April 20th in 2023with the kids, our two kids.
We just made it then.
Joni (21:17):
that's why it was so, so
Nick (21:18):
was thinking it opened in
February.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Joni (21:22):
No, I knew it.
I knew that it, because I was, Iwas wondering if we were, if it
was gonna be open when we got
Nick (21:26):
Mm-hmm.
And
Joni (21:27):
And I was hoping that it
was, and I'm glad that it was,
but it was a long wait for us.
But we did buy, we, we chose, weopted to buy the, the passes.
Is
Nick (21:37):
that, at that time it was
virtual queue in passes and we
got shut out of the virtualqueue.
I remember that
Joni (21:42):
we did try for the seven.
And the one, right.
Is that the one you tried forthe seven and the one.
Nick (21:47):
Yes.
We tried for the 7:00
Joni (21:48):
PM And then another thing
we did, that's the one we did
the rider swap on because, oneof our littles that was with us
was too short to go.
So anyway, that's always anoption as well.
So I think that's all I havefor, for that guy.
If you have anything to add,
Nick (22:04):
just have, a little bit of
history on it.
Okay.
So this.
A Tron Attraction first openedin Shanghai Disneyland in 2016.
It was called, or it is calledTron, light Cycle Power Run.
And it became an immediate hit,and so they wanted to bring it
to Magic Kingdom in Florida, butthey thought that, from what I'm
(22:24):
read.
It would be too compact intomorrow land.
They didn't know exactly knowwhere they were gonna do it, so
they decided, obviously wherethey put it in, and it, it took
them a long time to build.
You know, 2020, the parks shutdown.
I don't know how they didn't getit done faster than that because
the parks were shut down for a
Joni (22:42):
As I've said before, they
can build a boat in a short
pound amount of time, and theybuilt boats over COVID.
Nick (22:47):
I, I want to, I want to
say it took him like five years
to build Tron.
Oh no.
I could be wrong, but it wassomething, ridiculous.
So Shanghai is what got the ballrolling on Tron.
Yeah.
Joni (22:59):
Well, you know, and I
think it's in a great spot.
They're, you're saying that theywere worried about, spacing.
Mm-hmm.
I think it's got a huge amountof area up there.
Mm-hmm.
Nick (23:08):
Right next to Space
Mountain too is perfect.
Joni (23:10):
mean, it, it's just huge.
There's just, just a lot ofspace.
Nick (23:14):
Yep.
And the, that's just what youcan see of it.
That ride, you know, thebuilding that you go into after
the initial launch and you gooutside, you go in that
building.
That's a big building too.
Joni (23:23):
I mean, but just the, even
the standing outside area.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
You know, once you get off of itand it's got that big, you know,
concreted area and then, youknow, it's just huge.
Okay.
Nick (23:34):
Yep.
So, uh, that completes tomorrowLand.
We are done with tomorrow land.
I, we might just keep doinglands, I don't know.
Joni (23:41):
Yeah.
Nick (23:42):
Yeah.
A lot easier to keep track of.
Joni (23:43):
Yeah.
Well, I mean, you know, I've gotmy highlighting going on over
here, so
Nick (23:47):
yeah.
You are the organized one of us.
I'm just like, yeah, I don'tknow.
Joni (23:50):
I'll keep him in line.
Guys.
Nick (23:53):
So that's our spotlight on
attraction.
And Joanie's been doing someresearch on the, uh, first
appearance of different Disneycharacters, actors, movies.
Joni (24:02):
Movies rather.
You know, we, we were gonnastart out with trying to attempt
to do,
Nick (24:06):
Birthdays birthday.
There's so much conflictinginformation out there.
Joni (24:09):
I'm getting, you know,
three and four different dates,
you know, except for Donald andMickey and, you know, the
staples.
So anyway, we've kind of swiftshifted gears here and we're
just gonna do first appearances.
So today, I wanna start with theOG of the Princesses.
Nick (24:27):
Your favorite
Joni (24:28):
The o the original og
Nick (24:30):
og.
The first.
The first full length animatedmovie.
Joni (24:34):
Yeah.
And in color and with sound.
Anybody know what it is?
Nick (24:40):
I'm gonna guess Monsters
Joni (24:41):
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
Who's the princess there?
Nick (24:45):
Okay
Joni (24:45):
guys, we're talking about
Snowy Boo.
We're talking about Snow White.
Okay, so we're gonna jump inright here real quick.
And so I'm just gonna go acrosson my notes here.
Some, some, uh, things that I'vejotted down and learned.
Some things I didn't even know.
And there's still some, youknow, rabbit holes to be gone
down if I choose to do that inthe future or if used would like
(25:06):
to.
Investigate any of thisyourselves.
However, snow White in the, timing of her of this filming
her age was 14.
Her first appearance was SnowWhite in the seven Dwarfs.
It was December, 2020 first,rather in 1937.
The runtime is one hour 23minutes.
The creator is Hamilton Luskanimator, Mark Davis, and Walt
(25:32):
Disney.
And it's actually based on.
So when I say creator andwhatnot, I'm talking about the
movie itself.
But there is actually, based onthe Brother's Grim, snow White
by the brother's Grim.
Nick (25:45):
isn't, let me, it's, isn't
it wild to think that Snow White
is 90 years old almost?
And they
Joni (25:54):
looks great.
Nick (25:55):
she looks great.
She looks great.
Joni (25:56):
She still looks 14,
Nick (25:58):
but just, the animation of
it, you know, 1937 and here we
are in 2025 and like, this is,it's just, it's just wild.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to
Joni (26:06):
interrupt.
No, that's fine because Iactually have a side note on
that, that, It's agroundbreaking animated film,
the first full length cellanimated feature film in color
and with sound.
It's Disney adaptation of theGrims brother fairytale, where
Snow White.
Fleeing the evil stepmother be,uh, finds refuge with seven
dwarfs.
The film was a massive success, both critically and
(26:29):
commercially, and is considereda landmark in animation history,
Nick (26:32):
Well, yeah, it
Joni (26:33):
so still going super
strong.
So going back, her occupation isa scullery made.
Nick (26:42):
really.
Joni (26:43):
And, um, her spouse, if
you, you know, wanna put that
quote Lee, as obviously theprince, her nationality and
location of the filmernationality is she's German and
the location of this story takesplace in the Black forest in
Germany.
And speaking of Germany, thereis a meet and greet with her in
(27:05):
the Germany Pavilion at Epcot.
Nick (27:08):
That makes sense.
Joni (27:09):
And now you had said
something about Princess Hall,
but it's not a constant Yeah.
Nick (27:15):
You know, they kind of
rotate the princesses over
there, but, um, from myunderstanding, she will show up
in the, uh, I think it's calledFairytale Hall.
I don't, right, right behind thecastle.
Yeah.
She will show up there.
Yes, in Magic Kingdom, but forsure,
Joni (27:28):
For sure in Germany.
Germany, yep.
Nick (27:30):
Germany
Joni (27:30):
And her sidekicks are, if
anybody doesn't know the seven.
The seven little guysthemselves.
Doc, sneezy, grumpy, happy, bashful, sleepy, dopey.
She's the first fictionalcharacter with a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Under guess.
Guess what?
The first one I
Nick (27:47):
I didn't know that.
I knew she was on there, but
Joni (27:48):
Guess what her title is
under her star
Nick (27:52):
Princess.
Joni (27:53):
Ferris.
One of all.
Really?
Yeah.
Nick (27:56):
Really?
Yeah.
Okay.
Joni (27:56):
And her, characteristic
traits are that she's
empathetic, nurturing, andpolite.
Now, they did have a movie comeout after all this time.
They hadn't messed with SnowWhite, and they'd had a movie
come out March 21st, 2025.
I have not seen it.
I wanted to go see it.
I don't know where we were.
Oh, you know what?
(28:17):
I do know where we were, or no,we weren't on the, my birthday
was in March.
Mm-hmm.
And we went on our first cruise, well, my first cruise.
But it wasn't around that time.
I don't know.
I think life just got busy andwe just didn't make it to the
movie.
And now you can actually, uh,stream it on Disney Plus.
Yeah,
Nick (28:34):
It's, it's available on
Disney Plus now.
Maybe
Joni (28:35):
I still have yet to see
it, But it is Snow White is my
favorite, so I'm kind of leeryto watch it because you can't
mess with the OGs.
Nick (28:43):
Yeah.
It, any remake of any movie kindof makes you, makes you nervous.
Joni (28:48):
Yeah.
Nick (28:49):
Snow White.
I, I remember watching when Iwas very little.
I, I don't remember, like, youknow, I was little and I
remember seeing Snow White.
Joni (28:55):
Mm-hmm.
Nick (28:56):
Um, but I had not watched
it until we, I watched it with
our granddaughter within thelast year.
Joni (29:03):
watched a lot of princess
movies within the last few
Nick (29:05):
We watched,, the original
Snow White and I was doing some
work on the computer, so I waskind of, you know, in and out.
But it was.
I mean, I don't remember it whenI was little, but it was pretty
good.
I mean, and I remember eventhinking, wow, this movie is
named 1937.
This is as primitive as itseems.
It's still impressive because itwas 1937.
(29:26):
That's right.
Joni (29:27):
That's right.
I agree.
And I, I mean all the details, all the.
It's just, I don't know.
I think it's a great movie.
And then, um, I like the ridetoo.
Nick (29:39):
Seven Jos.
Joni (29:39):
I know.
We're, I know we're gonna getinto talking about the rides
when we talk about the rides, but just even going through that
cue, here's a little tip I'mgonna tell you guys.
I know we're not in that park oranything, but with the ride
itself, if you get those barrelsof jewels.
Nick (29:54):
Oh, in the right, yeah.
Joni (29:55):
If you get everybody
spinning those at the same time,
you will witness a surprisedetail on the ceiling.
Nick (30:04):
Yep.
The problem is getting
Joni (30:06):
getting everybody because,
and you can't give up.
Everybody has to do it, butpeople give up or you know, you
got one person that won't spinthis one or that one, I mean,
and don't like go, you know, beat your neighbors and tell'em
to, you know, spin it or kick'emin the shins or something.
But, It is really
Nick (30:21):
Everybody's gotta work
together and it's, it, it's
tough to get everybody to worktogether because the one, the
queue is moving.
Joni (30:27):
Yeah.
And
Nick (30:28):
Two, you know, there,
there's kids in there and
they're not listening, and
Joni (30:33):
There's a lot to look at
in there.
The queue line's just skewed initself.
You know, you get the, thejewels and you got the mining
entrance, you know, carved intothe door and you know, the
lanterns and things like that.
It's just a cute area.
Nick (30:44):
Yeah, I love that.
I love that roller
Joni (30:45):
Mm-hmm.
So.
That's what I have on our famed.
Snow White.
Snow
Nick (30:51):
white, the OG
Joni (30:52):
Yep.
Princess.
That's right.
Don't forget it.
She's my girl.
Nick (30:57):
It's a great way to start.
Joni (30:58):
Mm-hmm.
Nick (30:58):
Mm-hmm.
The, series.
We're gonna get into our tip ortrick.
This one may seem obvious, butwe're gonna talk about it
anyways, is if you're staying ata Disney resort, you are
eligible for 30 minutes of earlyentry park time.
So this is 30 minutes before thepark opens, you're eligible to
get there.
Now our tip is to do it and.
(31:21):
The reason why, I mean, there'sa lot of reasons why, but you're
paying for this, you're payingfor this perk, so why not use
it?
Joni (31:28):
Yeah.
Nick (31:29):
Yeah.
You can get one ride done and bein line for another ride before
the park's officially open.
Right?
Joni (31:36):
You can get two rides
outta the way, two the biggest
rides.
You can get the best, the, thelongest waiting rides, or at
least one, and be in and be onyour way to the other one, you
know, while everybody'sscrambling to get to their first
one of the day.
You know, and, and like I said,if you need to take a break
later in the day, you know, tocompensate that time when the
crowd, when the crowd is largerand the sun is hotter.
(31:59):
Go then take a break then.
But take advantage of your, ofyour extra time that you've paid
for.
Like Nick said,
Nick (32:05):
And this even works out
really good with if you're
buying Lightning Lane Multipassfor the day.
Because you can only scheduleone tier, one pre-booking.
You can only schedule one, tierone.
So let's take a parkway, Epcot.
Frozen and um, well now testtrack.
What's his?
Remy?
Yeah.
Re Remy and we'll say Remy andfrozen two of, two of the
(32:28):
hardest rides to get to becausethey're just so popular.
So
Joni (32:32):
ends too.
Nick (32:33):
too.
Yeah.
Remy's way in the back, which ifyou're on the skyline, it's
right there, but frozen is notclose to it.
So you know, you schedule onefor a tier one and.
You can rope or, um, earlyentry.
The other one.
Yeah.
So you can get'em both done.
Yeah.
Like we did that, we stayed, obviously we stayed at Animal
Kingdom and,
Joni (32:53):
but we've not always
stayed Animal Kingdom.
We've, we've stayed pop and,
Nick (32:56):
Yeah, but the, what I'm
getting into, we only had bus
transportation from AnimalKingdom.
Yep.
So what we did, we, we took abus to Hollywood Studios.
I think we got on the first busto Hollywood Studios.
We jumped on the Skyliner fromHollywood Studios to get to
Epcot so we could, early entryRemy.
Joni (33:14):
Mm-hmm.
Nick (33:15):
Mm-hmm.
So, yeah.
And then that one's one of thebiggest rides in all Walt Disney
World to get It's out of theway.
Joni (33:21):
Yeah.
And, and when we got off that wewere like, I mean, it was still
a little bit of a wait and wegot there.
Now they do have specificstroller parking, so please just
be mindful of that so you're notrunning over your neighbors.
And be kind and let the thedaddies and the mommies in that
are dropping the stroller off sothey can be back with their
families.
'cause we, I saw that nothappening a whole lot.
Yeah.
Um,
Nick (33:41):
don't run.
Please
Joni (33:42):
please don't run.
Everybody's gonna get there.
But the line was still a little.
A little long for being a firstride and, but I'll tell you
what, coming out it was all theway back.
Oh yeah.
I mean, it
Nick (33:56):
was ridiculous.
Was insane.
Once they got the, like theystarted moving the rides uhhuh,
the line went Okay.
But it was, it was, when youfirst get there, even early
entry, you're like, oh wow.
Joni (34:07):
and see, and I think
that's exactly the thing.
Like once, so you have like yoursecond rope area.
Nick (34:14):
Yeah.
You're right.
Yeah.
Joni (34:15):
So they don't let you just
free into the, once you go
through the turnstile, you can'tjust go up and get right in the
Nick (34:22):
No, they hold you at
another
Joni (34:23):
you have to be stopped at
another area.
And that's where a lot ofshifting happens and where a lot
of, people, you know, might notbe the best role models and they
wanna cut and they want to, youknow, not everybody, but you
know, you have those that wannarush their way to the front.
But, just be patient.
You're gonna get there,
Nick (34:39):
be patient.
You're there in early entry.
So, but, but yeah.
Take
Joni (34:42):
an advantage as a, you
know Exactly.
From a lot of people that arenot staying it.
Yeah.
And you know, and it's supposedto be the happiest place on
earth.
Not, you know,
Nick (34:51):
Yep.
You're paying for it.
Take advantage of it.
Use it.
Joni (34:54):
Yeah.
Nick (34:55):
It works to your benefit
for sure.
Mm-hmm.
They used to do an hour, I thinkit was pre, park closure, but
now they're doing 30 minutes.
I wish they would bring thatback.
I.
Joni (35:03):
Yeah, but
Nick (35:04):
But there's a lot of stuff
that
Joni (35:05):
your time wisely, you, you
follow.
I mean, now if you're one thatwants to hop back and forth
from, you know, one end of thepark to there, I am not, I'm one
who likes to just
Nick (35:15):
go in a circle
Joni (35:16):
area and just follow my
pathway around because it's the
less walking, it's the lessexhaustion and, less crowd you
gotta deal with and you, youhave more time to, I think,
sightsee, you know, and noticeall the little hidden Easter
eggs that are around, which wehaven't even found a fraction of
them.
We found a lot, but there'smany, many, many more.
(35:37):
But just take your time, you'llget there.
Nick (35:39):
Another thing with that,
especially with the Lightning
lean Multipass.
So we, early entered, um, Remy, this is going back to Epcot.
Test track was closed.
We early entered Remy and then,we wanted to do Sorin, so we
chose that as our tier one.
And, and we're like, oh, we'lljust get Frozen day of, you
know,'cause we knew Frozenwouldn't be booked up.
Frozen never opened up that dayand I checked often.
(36:02):
Luckily, you know, we hadextended evening hours that
night for Epcot and we were ableto get on it.
But that's another reason too.
Early entry or ride, if you justthink, you know, well, I can,
something will open up that
Joni (36:14):
Get it later.
Yeah.
You're always running.
Well, I mean, I think it's allrisky.
It is, it's all a, it's all a, atoss of a coin, you know?
But, the more you do it, I mean, and not everybody has the option
to go multiple times.
So for those people, I wouldjust, yeah, you know, it is,
they're, they're big parks guysand you're not gonna be able to
get everything done if you don'thave a strategy or if you have
(36:37):
littles with you or elderly thatneed more breaks or, you know,
things like that.
You can get a lot done if youare rush, rush, rush, and please
be kind to your spouse and yourkids, and your parents or you
know, whoever you're travelingwith because it can be very
stressful and that's not whatit's
Nick (36:56):
Yes, it can be stressful,
but um, yeah, just don't, don't
think a ride's gonna open upbecause Yeah, it may not.
Yeah, probably won't.
Joni (37:04):
you know, just, just keep
that in your, in your mind when
you're planning and don't let itruin your trip.
Just go find something else funto do.
Nick (37:12):
Yep.
And,, the, the buses, and or,skyline or what, whatever your
mode of transportation that parkis, they will have the time
scheduled.
When they're gonna leave andeven talk to the cast member at
the front desk, your resort, andthey, Hey, what time does the
bus usually leave for MagicKingdom First bus for to Magic
Kingdom in the morning?
And they'll give you an idea soyou know when to be out there.
Joni (37:31):
And you can also check
with your front desk, for the
departure times as far as ifyou're even allowed for early
entry.
They'll know that too if theyare a hotel that honors
Nick (37:42):
Yes.
Like good neighbors.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Joni (37:44):
If you are unaware if your
hotel qualifies for the 30
minute early entry, just checkwith your front desk.
It's your hotel.
Nick (37:50):
Yeah.
All Disney resorts will and, good neighbors, I don't know.
All do, but a lot do.
Joni (37:56):
Do we have something we
can put
Nick (37:58):
Yeah, we, yeah, we can, we
can look
Joni (38:00):
we can get, uh, something
posted out there for all the
hotels that that do, um, that dodo this feature.
Because
Nick (38:07):
know when we were,, we
were looking at to stay at one
of the good neighbors, the goodneighbors that we were gonna
stay at did not qualify for it.
I, I called and asked Disneyactually, and they said, no,
that one doesn't.
So I don't know how they decidewho doesn't, who doesn't.
Joni (38:19):
Yeah.
Nick (38:20):
So I think that's gonna do
it this week.
Congratulations to our week twoWinter.
We will be talking to you soon, emailing you soon this week, and

Joni (38:30):

Yep.
