So grab a notebook, pouryourself a favorite drink and

(01:10):
All right, today we are going totalk about the good and the bad
and the LOL.
So those of you who's beenfollowing me for a while, you
probably have watched me launch.
You might not know that I'm ina launch unless you've been in
the coaching industry for awhile and you see how people do
it.
But essentially what a launchis?
Basically, I like to think ofit as almost like the election
(01:33):
campaign you want people to getexcited about something that you
have to offer, whether it's amembership, a course, or maybe
it's a one-on-one coaching orgroup coaching whatever that you
have to offer for your business.
You don't want to just push itout there and then hope for the
best, close your eye and hopefor the best.
That usually doesn't work, andI know that for sure because
(01:54):
initially that's what I wasdoing.
I figured oh, I'll just createa workshop and I'll put it out
there and people will know aboutit and people will want to come
right Wrong.
Comment down below if you haveever done that, where you put
out an event and you're thinkingthat if I create it, I put it
out because that's what allthese other coaches and speakers
are doing.
(02:14):
So if I just copy the samestrategy, that will work right.
No, it actually take a lot morework than just creating it and
put it out, and so the way thatyou actually want to do it
appropriately is to create alaunch, and launch usually takes
30 days anywhere from 30 daysto sometimes 90 days, depending
(02:37):
on how big of your package orhow much you're charging.
If it's smaller offer, obviously it's easier for people
to cross people will sign up.
But if it's a larger somethingthat involves thousands of
dollars, then you definitelywant to have a longer, longer
period of launch where you guysyou should kind of warm up your
audience and get to know, sothey have an opportunity to get
(02:58):
to know you before you offerthem or selling them something.
If you've been following me,you know that I do these
launches, so I do have.
This is going to be a long chat.
I hope you all know that thisis going to be a long chat, but
essentially a launch issomething that I do throughout
the year.
So I have two signature programs.
One is called Profitable CoachFormula and that program, that
(03:23):
course, is really for newercoaches in the beginning of your
journey, so maybe aroundwhether you're starting from
zero.
So this is your first year inyour business, up to, I would
say, about that first year tothe second year mark.
And the reason why I createdthat course is because I know a
lot of coaches are still workingon clarifying the niche,
(03:45):
knowing your brand messaging.
So that course, that signaturecourse was designed to help
coaches in the beginning of yourjourney to identify your niche,
knowing what you have to offer, and then we get into the first
step of creating your socialmedia content or your blog posts
and how you are.
Your social media content oryour blog posts and how you are
(04:08):
that's the point where you startto establish, like, exactly
where you want to take off onthe next journey.
So that's the profitable coachformula and that's one of my
signature course.
So if you've been following mefor a while, you probably saw me
launching it a couple of timesin the last couple of years.
And then this time I have asecond signature course and
which is it's not really acourse, it's a group coaching.
So I do this group coachinglive, where it's not a recording
(04:31):
that I send you and go andwatch the video.
So the second signature offerthat I have, which you saw me
launching it, it's the SignatureTalk Academy.
So it's a live group coachingprogram where I walk coaches who
would like to have a speaking, leverage, your speaking skills,
as part of their visibilitystrategy.
(04:53):
So you could be podcast, webinar, doing workshops and you
could be getting paid as aspeaker through this program,
because what I'm essentiallyhelping you to do is creating
that signature talk inside theprogram and showing you exactly
where you need to pitch toeither get paid or to actually
(05:13):
book more paying clients fromthe talk itself.
So that's my second signatureprogram that I have launched.
I launched throughout the yeara couple of times throughout the
year.
If you miss this round, there'susually depending on which one
I'm going to offer, it might bea different signature program
that I'm going to launch thenext time around.
(05:34):
And then I have the one-on-onecoaching, where I don't do a
launch.
It's basically availablethroughout the year that anyone
can jump in at any time, and sothat's my program, and the
launch was recently to theSignature Talk Academy Now I'm
here to talk about.
So this is.
I have done already 10 launchesso far, and so I got a lot of
(05:57):
experience.
I wouldn't say that I'm alaunch expert, because some of
the launch experts that I haveconnection with they've done
like thousands of launchesthrough their whole entire
journey in their career, so I'mstill a little tiny baby
compared to what they arelaunching right throughout their
entire career.
Now I'm here to share from aperspective of I have done this,
(06:23):
I created strategies and Ifollowed the blueprint, and
here's what I have done this Icreated strategies and I
followed the blueprint, andhere's what I have learned.
So the good thing is that ifyou are someone who's creating a
membership, who's doing acourse, who would like to have
group coaching, or even withyour one-on-one program, I would
highly encourage you toconsider it, creating a plan and
(06:47):
the reason why I do launch isbecause it gives you a plan in
terms of what you're going to dothroughout the year.
So the good thing is, I havethe plan of when I'm going to do
what throughout the year.
A couple of years ago, weactually my mastermind member
actually we got together insidethe same room in November and
(07:10):
that one weekend it's the firstweek of November and I'm
planning to have that mastermindretreat again this year.
If you'd like to join us, youmight want to mark down the time
, the timeframe.
I am going to opening up tomore people this year and it's
going to be on the first week ofNovember, on the weekend, and
we get away for two days, right, and we sit in the same room and
(07:34):
we map out exactly what we'regoing to do the following year
and the reason why I hosted thatmastermind retreat was because
I know this is something that Ido for myself.
So throughout the year, I wouldthink about what I am going to
launch and I map it out on mycalendar so that I know exactly
when I am supposed to be doingsomething.
(07:56):
Now, if you're someone who isin that middle of oh, I got
one-on-one coaching, but I alsolike to have group coaching, or
I'm creating a course what youwant to do is you want to start
thinking about okay, so I gotone-on-one coaching, but I also
like to have group coaching, orI'm creating a course.
What you want to do is you wantto start thinking about okay,
so I got all these going on whatdo I want to focus on this
quarter?
So the good thing about mylaunch that came out with was
(08:17):
the fact that, because I hadvery strategically broken down
in when I am going to do certainthings, I had a clear direction
of what needs to be done next.
So, my first quarter when Ifirst brought out this Signature
Talk Academy my first quarter,my first launch I got most of
(08:40):
what I needed for that firstquarter right In.
Just within a week I enrolledhow many.
I think I have four students inthat first time around, and so
that first launch allowed me toset my tone for almost my whole
entire quarter.
So I didn't have to scramblingaround and wondering, okay, so
(09:01):
where's my next clients going tocome from Financially?
Do I have what it takes inorder to get rid of all these
burden and stress for my firstquarter, scrambling around and
wondering, okay, so where's mynext client going to come from
financially?
Do I have what it takes inorder to get rid of all these
burden and stress for my firstquarter.
So that was a good thing, andthis is something that I learned
from my mentor coach, and hesaid that if you're going to
plan on doing anything, youwanted to make sure and
especially throughout the yearand beginning of the year, if
(09:22):
you're going to launch, youwanted to make sure that in the
beginning of the year andbeginning of the year, if you're
going to launch, you want tomake sure that in the beginning
of the year, you just hit theground running right.
That first initial month isgoing to be very tough.
You have to put everythingtogether, but once you get the
clients coming in and you arefinancially secure within that
first quarter.
Then you can relax a little bitfor at least a good month or
(09:45):
two, so that you don't have toworry about, oh, where's my next
client going to come from.
And that's the beauty, andthat's the good thing that I
have learned from that firstlaunch.
And this is just one of thelaunch.
So I'm giving you an example ofthat, the good thing that
happened from beginning of theyear, and the same thing that
goes with this recent launch.
I was also able to get newclients and I don't have to
(10:07):
worry about, oh, what am I goingto do for the next 60 days or
90 days?
And so I have that clearblueprint and I also know
specifically what topic orprogram.
I have my notes here so that Idon't miss out anything.
So I also know what topic andspecific program that I want to
(10:29):
focus on, to talk about and topromote.
If you have a one-on-onecoaching program and a
membership and a course, whichone do you focus first?
And that's what happens whenyou have too many things going
on and you're trying to figureout which one do I talk about
first.
So the idea is, if you're goingto pick one thing to launch,
drop in the comment.
Do you have a course?
Do you have a membership?
(10:49):
What is it that you have inmind that you would like to
launch?
If you don't have enoughone-on-one clients, then you
might want to just focus on okay.
So when I do launch, I'm goingto focus on my one-on-one
program.
That's all I'm going to talkabout.
So stop going around andtalking about everything else.
Or I'm going to talk aboutworkshop, I'm going to talk
(11:09):
about X, y and Z.
So don't do that, right, because you don't want your
audience to be confused.
What are you offering right now?
So you want to be focusing onjust one program that I'm going
to promote in the next 60 daysor 90 days, whatever that
timeframe that you choose, butfocus, just talking about that.
And so that's what I havelearned and that's also what I
(11:31):
did.
So, if you remember back in,what is it Right now?
We're in April, so I startedthis launch sometime in end of
March.
I usually have a 30 daydaylaunch period and I start
talking about what's coming up,and so if you go back to my
(11:52):
social, you'll notice that a lotof what I talk about towards
the end of March is all gearedtowards speaking engagement,
getting onto the stage, gettingonto podcasts, getting booked.
A lot of that is about what'scoming up for the course.
So the idea is you want to stayfocused, right, and that was a
(12:13):
good thing that I got out of.
I was very focused and this wayit helps my content creation.
I don't have to go scramblingaround and trying to figure out
what do I create, what do I talkabout, and I can just focus on
creating content.
So that was also a good thing.
The other good thing that cameout of my launch is I created
assets, so some of the emails Ican reuse, I can repurpose.
(12:35):
Some of the social media postsI can also reuse and repurpose.
And some of the things thatdidn't really land very well
with myself, like some of thewhat do you call that?
The testimonial client review?
It didn't play out.
It didn't sprinkle out the waythat I want it.
So I'm going to go back and goand look at it again and see how
I can better and bring it out, spread it out through my process
(12:58):
.
But essentially I created allthese graphic, I created videos
for these, so I can go back andreuse them again for my future
launch.
So one of the, and anothergreat thing that came out of
this launch is that I createdthese assets that I can reuse
and repurpose anytime.
I want to do it again.
(13:19):
Those are the good things andthe bad thing.
Here we are.
We're talking about the bad now, okay.
So the bad thing is right, andthe bad thing was I was fighting
against a lot of attention.
You think that fighting beingout social is about fighting
against the noise during thelodge.
(13:40):
You're fighting against more, more attention, attention that
just take you away, take youraudience away from listening to
you.
So you can have great contentbut, depending on what's going
on in the world, your audiencemight be tired of all the BS
(14:00):
that's on social.
Your audience might beexhausted from hearing all the
negative, so they tune out fromtheir email, from their social
media, from just gettingthemselves exposed to all the
things that they don't want tohear.
And that includes your socialmedia posts, that includes your
(14:23):
video, that includes the time orthe email that you send them.
So the bad was that I don't knowif you guys remember, but back
in late March, in April, I wasfighting a tension with the
tariffs.
That's when the tariffs beganand there was a lot of fear and
(14:44):
hesitation about where the eggprices, right, grocery pricing
going up, and it's justridiculous that everybody were
talking about it.
There's a lot of fear andpeople are just tired of hearing
the negativity on social.
And so if your business isdepending on social and
depending on your email, guesswhat the bad would be?
(15:07):
People are not checking theiremail anymore, people are not on
social anymore, and so theytuned you out.
They tuned you out.
They're not intentionally.
My, my people still come andcheck me out on social, right,
they still love to come andfollow me and on social because
I do a Christmas countdown.
But besides just that, when I'min that lounge, I only have a
(15:30):
week, a period, where I'mkeeping this open.
Now, if you decide to tune meout or you don't want to be on
social during that period oftime, then that's a big loss for
me and there's no way to getthe attention back.
And so that was a bad thing, because there was a lot of
uncertainty.
There was a lot of things andnegativity that's just floating
(15:52):
around about the tariffs, aboutthe pricing increase, about the
inflation that we'reexperiencing.
So a lot of these socialinstability is going to impact
how your launch is going to comeout.
So that was one of the badthings.
The other bad thing is that whatI have learned is that a lot of
us, we go through thesemasterminds and we go through
(16:14):
these masterclasses of training, live training and social media.
We're able to pull up a lot ofresources for ourselves,
including myself.
A lot of times, if I need tolook for information for
something, then I just go toGoogle and I start Googling and
the bad is that because there'ssuch an information overload
(16:34):
these type of information unlessyou have a way of standing
yourself out, then thatrelationship that you're
building with your potentialclient, you're going to need to
have a better way of makingconnection with them.
So the bad is that a lot of thenewer clients who don't know
much about you or who comeacross your social, who is
(16:56):
getting your email for the veryfirst time, they're not going to
be your buyer right.
So that relationship is goingto require a longer period of
time to build.
So what's not working?
What's not working is in thepast, where there's a lot of
coaches are just going to launchand then they are able to see
(17:18):
people signing up right away.
So the client retention timehas been longer and this video
I'm doing this because itactually came from one of my
clients who reached out to me ina text and then she was asking
hey, michelle, I'm launchingsomething in in May.
What's working and what's notworking?
(17:38):
What should I avoid?
So here's my sound advice okay,if you're gonna, if you're
gonna launch for membership orcourse or one-on-one or whatever
that you're going to offer, what my suggestion to you and
based on what I have learnedfrom my own launch is that you
want to start building therelationship with whoever that
(17:58):
you're serving.
Long, long, long time ago Okay, long, long time ago, because now
people are tired of BS.
People are very tired of BS andpeople are very tired of the
things that we all know.
You're going to sell me at theend of the day.
So, if you're going to sell me,at least do show up and care
(18:21):
about me, and so you want tomake sure that you build that
relationship early on.
So, whatever that you're doing,do not expect that someone
can't come across your socialmedia posts and someone just
come across with you for thevery first time and they're
going to buy something from you.
No, the trust needs to be earned, and you really need to get
(18:42):
your hands dirty and putting thework and making sure that you
show up for you, for them and byyourself.
Okay.
So, if you want their business, you better show up with them,
and that's how you earn theirtrust, because nowadays there's
a lot of, like I said, peoplejust tired of this bs that's
going on, and so the trust needsto be earned.
(19:05):
And how do you earn that trust?
You build a longer relationshipwith them, okay.
So you gotta take your time, you gotta show up for them and
you gotta do everything that youcan and be there for them, and
that's how you earn their trust.
Be helpful, be supportive, beavailable, and this is something
that I know is true, and Ithink one of the one of the
(19:27):
praises that I got from one ofmy clients this recently, from
the recent launch, and it reallyhit me hard, right, because
what she said was oh, I love thefact that you're always
available to me, and that waslike a big sign and big ringing
in my ear, right, because then,oh, that's working, right,
obviously, my availability tothem.
(19:47):
That was important.
Okay, so I'm going to use thatfor my next launch and make sure
that I am there, available foryou.
And so that's what I alsolearned the good from the bad,
because it takes longer to buildthat relationship, it takes
longer to earn somebody's trust, and so those are the things
that I have learned.
Now the lol, so you know, happens I got to take a sip of
(20:14):
water for this.
So life happened, the week thatI closed the enrollment to the
signature talk, I actuallydiscovered that I have a
hairline fracture on my foot.
I had a hairline fracture on myfoot and it was really painful
to walk around.
(20:34):
And I am someone who's veryactive.
I like going to the gym, I likemoving around and I like to
stand when I'm doing live videosand things like that.
So that last week, that lastcouple of days when I was
closing the car, I was in pain.
When I that last couple of dayswhen I closing the car, I was
(20:58):
in pain, I was in pain sittinghere with my foot up.
You can't really see it, but Ihad my foot up and I'm thinking,
oh, my goodness.
Good thing you know my job doesnot require me to go around and
moving around and jumpingaround, because there's no way I
can do that right now.
That was a funny thing that hadhappened during that week.
It was I was struggling with ahairline fracture and plus
(21:19):
there's a lot of things that'sgoing on with my parents.
So my parents, they live withme and so they're very that that
week my dad came down with thecold and so it was just not a
happy moment for me.
So when, so I can totally.
What I'm saying is, I cantotally relate to you when
things are not going well andyou're feeling stressful and
(21:41):
you're feeling that you wantedto do this, you wanted to do
this right.
But that mental struggle, thatmental resilience is so
important, and for me I wasfortunate because it was towards
the end of my launch.
But had it happened in thebeginning of the launch, I
wouldn't.
I don't know what I'm going todo.
Let's just put it that way Idon't know what I'm going to do.
(22:03):
So those are the good, the badand also the LOL.
So, overall, what I have learnedfrom this launch.
So my first quarter was alldone.
So I I did a five-figure launchin case you're curious, I did a
five-figure launch just for thefirst quarter and that allowed
(22:23):
me to take a breather for mynext couple of months to to
focus on the things I need tofix right, fixing some and
tidying up some of the loose endand going through what I have
learned from the previous twolaunches.
I'm able to better my email.
I can create better video.
(22:44):
I can have a better way ofsupporting my members right.
You'll see me more active now aday in the Speak to Attract
community inside the Facebookgroup, because that's one of the
ways that I have learned that Ineed to focus and finding a way
to continue that relationshipwith all of you inside the
(23:06):
community, and so you'll noticeI'm getting more active inside
the group.
A lot of the things that I putout or share is going to be
exclusive for the group.
So if you have not joined thegroup, go and join the group.
Right, Speak to or attractFacebook group.
Go and speak to the group.
That was another thing thatI've learned is that if you're
planning on starting a group, don't divide out the energy.
(23:29):
Put everybody in the same grouptogether.
Don't divide out the energy.
Put everybody in the same grouptogether.
And that was one of the bad Ihad done over the years, over
the 10 launches is I dividedinto different groups and I
divided people from differentplaces and different programs.
But in reality, if you're goingto do this, learn from my
lessons and just bring everybodyinto the same group.
(23:51):
I'll go into that another dayin another detail, but the
reason why you want to keepeverybody in the same group
everywhere is because then youhave your past clients, who
share their wins, share whatthey have learned, also being
there as your testimonial inorder to keep that engagement
going.
And so that's a lesson that Ihave learned, especially from
(24:14):
the last two launches, andthat's why you'll see me
tweaking my strategy a littlebit, moving forward.
I don't have any launch, I don'thave any program to enroll at
the moment.
What I do have is a one-on-onecoaching.
So you'll see me talking moreabout the one-on-one coaching
offer that I have, but that issomething that you can jump in
(24:34):
any time of the year, and if youhave any questions, please let
me know, drop into the comment, let me know how I can support
you, how I can help you for thesuccess of your launch.
Okay, coach, that's a wrap fortoday's episode.
If this got your wheels turning, helped you to see things a
little differently, or maybeyou're feeling like, yes, I
