The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank has been huge news in the financial sector and an event that many people worry could trigger even more fallout across the country. With 2008 still fresh in our mind, it’s justified to be concerned about what this might mean for your money.

In this episode, Marc will break down the events leading up to these bank failures and explain what actually happened to cause this collapse. Knowing what went wrong will help you better understand how it’s different from the failures 15 years ago.

But there’s still plenty of concern about what this means for you and your money. Marc will talk about local banks and how they’re structured to give you a better idea of where your money is stored. Plus, there might actually be some silver lining to all of this news related to the stock market moving forward, which we’ll explain as well.

Here's some of what you’ll learn in this episode:

  • Who was Silicon Valley Bank?  (4:30)
  • Should you have any concerns over your local bank? (7:04)
  • What led to this breakdown of SVB  (9:39)
  • The silver lining for the stock market. (16:52)
