Real estate investment is a well-known avenue that has remained a cornerstone of American investment culture. With its tangible assets, potential for appreciation, and opportunity for cash flows, real estate can be a lucrative investment, particularly for individuals with substantial assets.

However, in today's discussion, we're delving into REITs, a distinct type of real estate investment traded on major exchanges such as the NYSE. Joined by David Auerbach, CIO of Hoya Capital and a nearly three-decade real estate expert, we'll explore various aspects of the real estate landscape:

  • Contrasts with private real estate investments
  • Different categories of REITs
  • The relationship between interest rates and REITs
  • Current opportunities within the REIT market
