En dan beginnen we nu echt aan de zoektocht naar de Joodse goochelaar Ben Ali Libi, welbekend van het gedicht van Willem Wilmink en de voordracht ervan door Joost Prinsen.
Ik neem jullie mee in de zoektocht door de jaren heen. Steeds als ik Ben Ali Libi leek te vinden, verdween hij weer en moest ik een andere weg inslaan. Zo leidde hij mij langs allerlei wegen, waarin ik hem en mezelf steeds beter leerde kennen.
Het bleek dat Ben Ali Libi niet zomaar een goochelaar was en hij mij, maar wellicht ook u op deze reis, het wonderlijke van het leven laat ontdekken.
