Speaker 1 (00:01):
I'm stone cold.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Eva Erickson from Survivor forty eight and Autism three sixteen says,
I just voted your ass out.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Yeah we can will winnest.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
I'm a dog.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Person hours buying them up.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
Let's soccer down because your dog was sick, and I say,
I'm coming over and over.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
You know, I crack.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
You Eather industry servisor.
Speaker 5 (00:37):
It's not about a million dollars.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
All I want to do.
Speaker 6 (00:41):
Is win million are in Surrian Marian Florian Florien fience
knock knock?
Speaker 5 (00:46):
Who's that not me? Good job, guys, we got two moments.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Wa we got two of them. Welcome to Making the Merge.
I'm joined by Chase Bridges, Brandon Gray and the new
champions of Making the Merge and the winners of this
season forty eight. Jody knew, well, Cup, it's time for
a speech.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Speech speech speech.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
Oh it's me right, I'm not still winning, you know, gentlemen,
I knew we had what's your name in the bag?
This is Joha, right. I knew we had this in
the bag. I felt so secure in the finale. Let
me just tell you the further we got into the finale,
I'm gonna be real with you. I almost kind of
(01:29):
checked out mentally. I was so stressed.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Oh shut up.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Yeah, I was so not stressed about this because I
was like, I feel like, either way, I've got two
people going in there, the odds are looking good. And uh,
you know, Tribal did get me really on edge though,
those those really did and we'll talk about those. But gentlemen,
I'm glad to be joining the Rankings brand. I'm sorry
that it wasn't you in your first season, but you
know you're still wet behind the ears.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Oh, I gotta be honest. I was with you until
you used that phrase. I don't like that phrase. What
does that even mean? You know he did a shower
and he didn't drive. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
If my worst trade is that I know how to shower,
then so be it.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
I don't care.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
But it is true. Jonathan was carried to his first
ever making the Merge victory first wind.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
You know, I was carried all the way to the finale.
It's but this time I won.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
It was exactly how we thought it was gonna be.
And you wonder what the exact person we all thought
you were gonna run?
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Jonathan?
Speaker 6 (02:36):
Can I ask a question since Kristen isn't here, maybe
you can answer. So you, for the first time ever,
you and Kristin were on the same team. So you
guys worked together on your draft, and you guys drafted Joe,
then Kyle, then Cheeredy, then Cedric. Who if you if
you even remember who one is? Like, who was like
we should draft Joe first? Who made that decision? You were,
(02:58):
Kristen the.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Only Okay, So we really did make our draft decisions,
like we sat and we talked them.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
Out about it. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah, when you're room, I would have talked with my
reverend about it. I was just like, hey, this a
good decision, you know, But it was, you know, we
really did sit down and talk like are these the
best options? And it really wasn't difficult to line up
kind of our rankings. What's funny is I think PD
knew this. Camilla was like our number one at first
(03:30):
and Joe was our number two pick. The only rogue
one that we went with was when I picked Charity
just out of the blue. But like, as far as
picking Joe and Kyle, we were like all the same page.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
Okay, So that's a congratulations. Jonathan gets his first when
Kristen gets her second, tying her with PD for most
draft wins.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's true, it's upsetting.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Do you want to know what stings about this? What's
that is? I said, hey, Kristin, I'll be on your.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Like if she just accepted my offer, this is a
whole different ball game.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Yeah, you could have gotten your win. Your fine. I know,
because we all know that it was Kristen.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
Look, guys, can we just talk about the Patreon chap
for one.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Moment here, because.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
I, first of all, was laughing hysterically at the fact
that as soon as the worm happened, everyone in the
Patreon immediately dog piled on congratulating Kristen and pretending like
I didn't exist. I was crying, laughing on the couch
like it made it made my night that I was like, hey, guys,
(04:44):
I want to and they're like, congrats Kristen, guys, And I.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Wish Kristin was here to hear us say this.
Speaker 6 (04:50):
But Kristen notorious for being a phenomenal drafter, a good
pick man.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
I don't know, maybe it's like the psychology degree happening
or something.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
The only bad pick she's ever made is who she married.
Let's jump into this finale. It's a long one and
we've got a limited amount of time.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
PD. That's right.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Actually, what if we didn't what if we had brand
read Bonu Part three right away?
Speaker 3 (05:19):
I do want to just quickly shout out to the
I'm gonna call him the little Mergers.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
That's what I'm calling her, calling the patre.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
They made this season so much fundah goodness.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
And if we get six more, Chase has to drop
his song about Mitch that he desperately does not want
to drop.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Okay, are we ready?
Speaker 7 (05:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Okay, this is long. I apparently have three minutes worth here.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Well, you can do one at a time, all right,
how about the rest?
Speaker 4 (05:45):
I'll do one.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
I'll do one now, because I know people are dying
to hear our thoughts on the finale. I'm not trying
to be sketchy, but I'm always looking for an idol.
It's extremely stressful because I don't want to be caught,
and I've been looking high and low everywhere. It's super hard.
Why do they make it look like it's so easy.
(06:06):
Everyone's searching for an idol, but I don't want anyone
to find.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
An idol before me. Calm yourself, down.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
And think I'm gonna find that guy. I'm gonna find
that idol. No one wants to be the first person
to walk away from Survivor. But this is a game,
this is a serious business. Someone someone has to go.
I think Jelenski and Jess are the targets, but this
is Survivor.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Anything could happen. The game is on twenty four by seven.
It's so hard.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
You know, it's so weird about hearing these so I'm like,
this shows how burned into my memory everything that man
said is.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Because I feel like him say it.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
I can hear it, but I know that it's like
I'm remembering it. You know, it's it's either that or brand.
It is just channeling it.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Make sure Bonnie on the beach.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
And that's the only reason I'm not doing an accent.
For no other reason. I didn't have to do much.
People would be able to hear it, and.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Yeah, yeah, feeling I'm sure that's the only reason.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Only if me and Chase talked about it that we're
happy that we lost, because I don't know if I'd
be able to quote Bonnie for that long and not
do his line up. It's hard, all right, Shall we begin, Yes,
let's beget our final recap of season forty eight, and
there's no better way to start than a slow walk
Jeff's speech. Baby Jeff says, there's always a reckoning on Survivor.
(07:33):
It was inevitable that there will be blood, and there
will be more blood tonight because there has to be,
and it will be personal because it is so let's
go season forty eight finale. There will be blood.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
It was a lot.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Look what they did to my boy.
Speaker 6 (07:49):
I thought it was very funny that kind of subtly
throughout the entire finale, he kept making like little comments
like this has been one of my favorite seasons.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
The season.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
It was like he was trying to convince us that
we were.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
He said it in the press too. Jeff loves this, he.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Said it, and on Fire pre Merges he said this
is one of his favorite seasons of all time.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
I think the cast was super memorable, and everybody in
the cast, you know you you kind of like even
people sitting Like at the end, I was like, I
like all three of these people.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Did you like the shot the single shot of Jeff? Yeah,
this this we really got to see the domes.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
I like everything about it.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Aside from what he said was really aggressive and unnecessary.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
I felt like it was like nothing I read the
second part of that PD, though, I do want to
hear it one more time because it felt like thing.
Three times.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Jeff says there will always be a reckoning on Survivor
it was inevitable. There will be blood, and there will
be more blood tonight because there has to be, and
it will be personal because.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
It is.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Like, do you think that they script that or do
you think they just step away due He's notorious.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
For being like, no one scripts anything for me, and
no one says anything in the here.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
I think he d he just frealled that one.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
I when I heard it just now, it's like, it's
definitely the same concept five times.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Yeah, you know there will be blood because there has
been blood, and there will be because there has.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
It's personal because it is.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
I love Jeff the Father, the Son, and the Holy Probes.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
And I keep forgetting the Saint. Also, Kristen texted me
right now, guys have said make sure to bask in
the glory of us winning, So I just figured I
would say we are basking in it. Kristen's basking in
it in the other room though, So well.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
All right, so let's le's good thing you gonna is
she gonna tag in.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
At some point she's gonna try try.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah, all right, Well let's let's start with Joe talking
to stone Cold.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Eva ericson, oh wait, hold on, it's.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
There somewhere, and Joe says to stone Cold, did we
both get duped by somebody that was working us?
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Were he shooting or working brother?
Speaker 1 (10:14):
And then we cut to Camilla and Kyle, where Camilla says,
oh my god, how the hell did that work out?
I can't believe he didn't go fact check with Shaheen
because that's what he should have done, And then in
a confessional she says, I didn't realize how good I
am at lying because this is my first time lying
to people straight to their face to get them to
believe me, and every time it works. Joe believed my lies.
Eva believed my lies, and a tribal council Shaheen didn't
feel scared at all. So I think I deserve an emmy.
Speaker 6 (10:36):
Yeah, I agree, for your consideration, you can vote for Camilla.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
I do think that she was again the person that
actually made that plan work because I her lying Kyle's
was not convincing enough. That's why immediately Joe went to
her because he didn't believe him, and she was the
final one to commit. But maybe it's because of the
fact that she hadn't lied the whole game, so why
(11:05):
would why would she be lying?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Then?
Speaker 4 (11:07):
For sure?
Speaker 3 (11:08):
What if the four year Consideration commercial was just all
Camella oh Man, Yeah, all of her lines, Oliver talking
about running people over with a bus.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
That's all it is.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Yeah, for your consideration. It's day twenty four, yeap. The
sun is coming up, and Joe is proud. He's proud
for dads, he's proud, for older dudes. He's proud. And
then everyone walks up and sees their name on a
podium and everybody has their own puzzle lock and advantage
is up for grabs for the person who can unlock
the key using the clues around camp, which is once
(11:41):
again animals. But what was different about the animals this time?
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Brand the dots.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, yeah, they're not colorful animals. They're animals with dot dots.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
It's like zebras but with dotrice.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Yeah, you could have also said like a leopard or
something too, or a dalmatian yeah, does Fiji have zebras
with dots?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
When it doesn't?
Speaker 4 (12:07):
Good night?
Speaker 1 (12:11):
All right? Everybody sprints off and Camilla thinks she understands it,
and Mitch says things are gonna get messy and hearts
are gonna get broken, so he needs this, and spoiler alert,
Mitch doesn't get it. But Kyle thinks he has it
with the word rescue, and he was wrong, and unfortunately
for him, Stone Cold Eva ericson, dude, don't go Eva Ericsson.
(12:37):
She grew up playing scrabble with her mom and she
came up with secure and thought that's definitely a survivor word.
And it was a survivor word. And Eva has another
advantage because Autism three sixteen says, I just solved a
puzzle on your ass. How did y'all feel when this happened?
Speaker 5 (12:57):
I was impressed.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
I was laughing so hard.
Speaker 6 (13:01):
Yeah, there's not a single advantage this whole season that
Eva has not won.
Speaker 5 (13:05):
But literally, as soon as she won it, I out
loud said you gotta be kidding me, because I was
both equally upset that one of my people didn't win it,
but I was also like, you can't hate her for it.
She's just killing it with.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
At this point, it's not luck. You can't do it
every time for luck.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
It's like, I don't know if I didn't enjoy this
particular challenge because I thought it was dumb at this
point in the game, or because I knew for a
fact Eva was gonna win.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
But I've seen the shot, I've seen the race.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
They should have got that girl from last season that
loves doing Easter egg hunts.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
So now it's everybody's favorite part, and it is my
favorite part of the episode this time. I really mean that.
It's challenge time with Chase.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
Everybody's favorite part of the episode. It's the first challenge
of the episode. Challenge number one.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
For this challenge, We're racing up and over a steep ramp.
We're crawling through a tangled up muddy net. We're throwing
a ball through a target.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Get it. We're maneuvering that ball through a long cage.
Once the ball is free, you toss it in a basket.
It gives you three numbers. You use the three numbers
to retrieve a key.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
Then you raise up another steep ramp and you solve
a survivor fire puzzle.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Who shot out to roam.
Speaker 6 (14:20):
The winner gets immunity obviously, which means that they cannot
be voted out this season because worst case they lose
fire making and go home.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
That way.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
They also will get to go to the Sanctuary with
one other person for what happens there, the sanctuary where
good things happen.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Thank you respect on it.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
The story of this challenge, it's all about Camilla. No
one even matters in this challenge other than Camilla. We
see Camilla gets stuck in the net. She twists the
wrong way and gets even more stuck. Everyone else is
almost to the puzzle and Camilla is barely able to
get out of the net. It looks extremely claustrophobic and
scary by the way. It looked like kind of getting
(15:00):
waterboarded in there.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
I hate watching that every time that they do the
net in mud, I feel like I can barely watch it.
And I'm not even a claustrophobic type person.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
You're just afraid of the ocean.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
Well, yeah, you know, and it's just cleaning up the water.
You know.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
You have the opposite of claustrophobia. You don't like wide
open space.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
Yes, I'm like, could someone just like put me in
the smallest possible place.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Was like, please put me in a box.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Jonathan's in the shallow end of the ocean. He's like, god,
it what I wouldn't give to be in an elevator.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Like I need someone to put baby in a corner.
That's what I keep telling them.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
I love what.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Camilla was like, what am I doing wrong? And Jeff
was like, you have to turn your body in twist.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
He's like, twist, twist. She does manage to get out
of the net. Everyone else moves.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Uh, they're on the puzzle and they have a huge
head start on her, got there.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Before everybody else. I think that's important was winning. That's
how far back Camilla.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
At this point in the episode. I was like, oh,
this is my funeral, Like, yeah, my game dies here.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
Well, as soon as I saw Joe starting to solve
the puzzle, I was like, this is my funeral.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
You know. That's how dude. He sucks at puzzles.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
But basically, everyone is on the puzzle. They have a
huge headstart on her. She's still trying to get the
ball into the cage. Finally she granny shots it in.
Funnily enough, Mitch is actually in the lead for most
of this challenge.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
I know, I was shocked.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
It was his time to make a move.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Eva, who had an advantage.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
As we just talked about, Mitch was still leading the
pack even though she had a bay.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
That's how good he was doing. I was watching that.
I was like, Mitch's gonna win the game. Baby.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I just want to point out, and I want to
put it on the record. If I am ever in
this situation where I get an advantage in the advantages
that I can dunk the ball, you better believe I'm
doing some dunk contest.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
I'm going between the legs getting style ones.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
I know it's not important, but I just want it
on the record in case it ever happens.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
We can pull this back, write that downe s one
right there, right, I got it, I got it. Everyone's
working on the puzzle. Now Camilla finally shows up after
everyone else has a huge lead.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
But what's that? What?
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Camilla starts flying through the puzzle. Next thing you know,
she's in the lead and it's not even close. Mitch
practically gives up. Eva is fighting hard. Joe, he's he's trying,
but he's in last place on the puzzle, and boom,
Camilla wins the challenge.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Right, dude. I jumped up off the couch. My dad
laughed at me because I jumped up and I screamed touchdown.
And I wasn't watching football, but that's what I felt
like streaming.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
So I do want to know what your dad thought
of it when she won.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
He's cheering too, because he was supposed to see his
boy knew. I was all in on Camilla for this episode.
I mean, I love Stone Cold, Eva Austin, but for
the beginning of this episode, I wasn't even for the
beginning of this episode, I was dead set on Camilla winning.
(17:56):
And then this happened and I was like, it's this
is everything I wanted. It's gonna this is how this
is like the exact thing I needed in order to
be able to win.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
And in that moment, I'm seeing Camilla win and Kristin
and I are looking at each other thinking we had
her number one as our pick because there was definitely
I'm sitting there thinking like, she's gonna win the game
if she makes it to the finale.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
And when they didn't have a single piece of the
puzzle and then she was making her way up the ladder,
I was like, oh, it's it's still even the challenge
basically just started.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Joe was nowhere to be found in this. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Once it got to the puzzle, he couldn't do anything.
And that's okay, challenges.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
This was his mud net, you know.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Yea, And listen, any challenge it doesn't involve some sort
of puzzle he can crush.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
Yeah, you can't do puzzles.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Yeah, that's okay.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
I don't know if I would do good at either.
I'm a little wet behind the years.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
I'm the only.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
Boy here anyway. So Camilla wins, Jeff puts the necklace
on her. We hear once again about her family that
didn't believe in her watch.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
She's getting brought up.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
They shouldn't have said all that's true.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
Well, I'm gonna say. When she was talking about her family, though,
she mentioned something I hadn't even noticed, which was she
never had her name written down.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yeah never.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
She said it very in like a passing statement, like
not only have I never had my name written down,
but I will never have my name written down.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
But then she except for when people vote for me
at the end, and I was like, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
That's exactly what a crazy thing for her to be
able to say is like name never written.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Down, that is sick, that is awesome.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
It's time for her to go to the sanctuary, but
she has to pick one person to go with her
to the place where good things happen. And she says,
you know what, I'm going to choose someone who's very hungry.
And she knows that she really needs this, and she
she knows I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Her Eva once again, because chosen for the war.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Yeah, I walked in and said, someone throw me a beer,
and I need one rewards?
Speaker 4 (20:04):
What I need two rewards? I need three rewards.
Speaker 6 (20:08):
What I need a sanctuary and our sweet tea.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
I love this finale partially because of the uncertainty, but
then the other part of why I loved it was
because of these two hilarious EVA moments. One where she
wins the advantage and everybody's like not again, and then
two when she gets picked for the reward and everybody's
like not again.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
Dude, I had the same reaction to her getting the
advantage and getting to the sanctuary both times. I just
kind of shook my head and smiled. It was not
even like disappointment. It wasn't upset. I was just like,
there she goes, she's made it again.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Listen, this is she's hungry.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
Hey, and you know what, at the end of the day,
we can laugh about it. I think it was a
strategic move from Coodela. I think it was a good one.
I think she wanted to be in Eva's good graces
in case Eva won the next one. Yeah, and she
would try to convince her like, hey, don't make don't
send me.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
To I took you on the reward. There you go.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
So we're about to talk about where good things happen.
But we get back to the beach and Mitch starts
roasting Kyle and not being able to get up the
wall and breaking the face. It kind of felt like
it came out of nowhere, but Mitch just getting his
shots in.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Yeah, and Kyle said, I'm voting for you and he
did well.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
He said it as a joke that time.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (21:26):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
It was funny to me to hear them roasting each other.
And then I was like, these roasts are kind of
just them saying what's happening. They're like, you have mud
on your face. There's a lot of mud on your face.
Am I right, guys. And then they went and got
in the water and Joe said it was like a
kiddie pool.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Mitch told him, you you have mud like last time
that you had.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Yes, and you're a little wet behind the ears.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
But then, like Jonathan said, they did go get wet
in the kiddie pool. They washed the mud off of them.
And I feel like the TikTok Stan editors are with
that Joe in his underwear washing the mud off of
a footage.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Hey, we're the good old days where the men could
get naked, the good old days.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Man, I'd set fire to my house if I knew
Joe was showing.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
Up to put my shirt off right now?
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Whoa John? Put that away?
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Okay, it's back on.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
It was a bit of a like, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
I've always thought like, Fiji's so beautiful and where they
are is amazing, and they got these great sunsets. But
then you see when it's like low tidying, like oh
that kind of sucks.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Myrtle beach who weeds?
Speaker 5 (22:36):
Like why not? You're like there a surf shop near
It's like, what is going on?
Speaker 1 (22:41):
So now let's go to the sanctuary where great things
are happening, and great things are happening because it's the
team PD Sanctuary.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
EVA and lying High brother.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
I really was flying high, flying light.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
I was.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
I've done fluid too high and h and I went later, yeah,
just like that boy shaheen. But even told Camilla, I
can't believe your parents said you wouldn't do well.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Keep getting brought up as a dad.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
I can imagine like watching this in the first time,
you hear that you've you know, put a lot of
doubt in your child.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
And then she keeps bringing up and you just like
get lower and lower in your seat.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
And then her friends start bringing it up, and then
Jeff probes starts bringing.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
A Lenshult to injury. In one of her exit interviews,
she said that it wasn't just the doubt, it was they.
Her parents also looked at her brother and said you
should sign up verst.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
They didn't say it to.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
Her Camilla's parents the question mark, yeah, so I this episode,
I was riding high.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
I was flying hot whatever I said, especially when Camilla said,
no one's written my name and no one will be
able to until final tribal because that was with the
prophecy that I thought was gonna need fulfilled. But then
the other person on this reward, stone cold Eva ericson
(24:17):
stone Cold Eva Erickson says, this vote is easy. It's Mitch.
I'm not at risk. I'm playing my idol. It's the
last day to use this thing.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Oh dang dude.
Speaker 6 (24:30):
This was one of the most pitiful first vote outs
of a finale.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
When she says that, I'm like, of course she's gonna
say that he's not gonna bring up Joe. But listen,
this is easy, right, Camilla is gonna go back and
go to Kyle and be like, hey, this is our
chance to get Joe. It's easy because Mitch, I don't
know if you've heard, is ready to make a move.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
This is the time.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
And Camilla goes back and says, I, I think we
should do Mitch tonight.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
And I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
I couldn't believe it either, although I could equal parts
believe and not believe because it's just kind of how
the season has gone.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Yeah, but after the sho shot he moved, I felt
like we were moving.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
You know.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
It would have been true vindication for Mitch if he
pulled off a big move in the finale. And made
it to the final three because you've been like, see, guys,
I was waiting for the perfect time. But no, it's
exactly like the consequences of his own actions from a
few weeks ago. Is was he sent him home.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
It was really sad, guys, Like that whole lead up
to Tribal just made me feel depressed.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yeah, because once they're back on the beach, Camilla said
to Kyle that after the massive move, with all the lying,
I'm not concerned about Joe and Eva. Yeah, that was
the reasoning, Like Mitch is a jury vote for us. Yeah. Yeah,
and then everyone walks up to Mitch and it's like
you're gone.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
I mean, dude, hey, let me ask you, what would
you what would you rather have happened?
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Would you rather be blindsided or would you rather be
told that you're gonna I want to be blind I
don't want the hopelessness because then that you're just sitting
there Tribal, just crying.
Speaker 7 (26:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (26:08):
He's like, well, it's a real buzz kill. And you
know what he could have gone and done find the idol.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Yeah, well I think, yeah, they weren't going to do that.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
I don't think if if if I'm being real. I
wouldn't mind knowing ahead.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
Of tribal you would would.
Speaker 5 (26:26):
I don't think I would mind because in my in
my mindset, I'd be like upset, But at the same time,
I'd be like, all right, let me just like take
it all in right now. Let me look at this
camp site, let me look at the beach that looks
like myrtle beach. Let me keep you know, living my life.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
For sure that Jonathan, So that makes it easy for us.
So you're actually not going to be on the podcast.
Speaker 6 (26:46):
Next and get ahead of this this whole week, Jonathan
has we've threatened to fire.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
We got a robot saying that he should be fired.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
I know his hands were shaking when he texted that
he was going to be late.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
I didn't even text. Y'all knows said Kristen, I can't
do this. You know that's what.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
My phone three times I think.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
I think I can't make it happen. You know you've
got to say something now. I would rather know ahead
of time they get blindsided.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Keep that in mindy Yes, it's good to get him.
Let's go to tribal. We we all know what's gonna happen,
and it didn't take too long to get down to business.
They all told Jeff they're voting for Mitch, although Joe
said he was trying to show the most respect he
can to a human. And then Mitch says, it's heartbreaking.
It sucks, but I get it. It's a game for
a million dollars and they have to do what is
(27:38):
the best move for them. And I don't have any regrets.
And that's enough.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
You don't have any regrets, Mitch.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
And I was wondering, are they gonna bother him?
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Dude, I thought of it. I thought, I think everybody
thought that. They're like, oh, they're not even gonna vote.
They're just gonna say, all right, Mitch.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Get up and go Mitch.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
I'm a little surprised that they took a vote.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Yeah, but you know what, I'm glad they did because
when Mitch wrote Kyle and they read it, they all
laughed about.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
Yeah, They're like, that's adorable.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
You know, Mitch got his torch snuffed. And with that,
Chase has been eliminated from the Jody Newell Survivor Draft.
Speaker 6 (28:11):
Yeah, good season. I'm familiar with this position. I'm used
to the final three. The water's fine, it's low tide
the Myrtle Beach water.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
That's right. So we've got our final four. It's Eva, Joe, Camilla,
and Kyle. Everybody's hugging back at the beach. They're all
so happy that they made it. And we get to
day twenty five, and this is where we get a
conversation with Camilla and Kyle where they mutually agree to
send the other person to fire because the Jerry votes
would be split, and Eva and Joe are the exact opposite.
(28:42):
They like ride or die for each other. They're not
going to send each other to fire.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
This is the only bad move Camilla made all seasons.
Do you think this is the reason she didn't win
but Kyle won.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
This wasn't a decision.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
Here's the thing, because she's the one that brought it
up to Kyle.
Speaker 6 (28:57):
She walked up the con and she said, hey, look, yeah,
if I win, I'm not taking you Yeah, And he
even kind of seemed like surprise. He seemed understanding, but
he's kind of seemed surprised. I thought it was mutual
after she brought it up. But here's what I think
would have happened if Kyle won and Camilla hadn't have
done that, I think Camilla might like he would have
felt guilty.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
Yeah, he would have felt guilty and taken her.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I think connection to Joe that he would have felt
so guilty about because he loves Joe.
Speaker 6 (29:24):
Yeah, but he wouldn't felt like he almost put Joe
in instead of Eva when Eva started having a hard time,
So I don't think he would have. I really like,
I I know that that feels like the biggest mistake
she made all season for sure, because again, like you're saying, Chase,
where her and Kyle were talking and she brings it up,
(29:44):
He's like not shocked, but at the same time he
was like, yeah, I was kind of thinking that that
was what he said.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
It wasn't like, yeah, that was what I was gonna do.
He was like, yeah, I was kind of thinking about
it too, and this conversation pushed him over the edge
to be like, that's what we should do. But I
completely think that if that conversation hadn't happened, he would
have put Joe and Eva making fire.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
At the very least, It's fair to say that just
because Kyle is thinking about something doesn't mean he's actually.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
Going to do it.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
True so even if he's thinking, you know, having Camilla
next to me makes it really hard for either of
us to make an argument.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
You know, he would still have to make that decision.
He would still have to be the one to bring
it up to Camilla. And he just hasn't been.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
The guy who's like pleased having hard conversations.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
We can ask Kyle what he would have done if
Camilla hadn't done that when he comes on the show and.
Speaker 6 (30:39):
Just putting that out there, like, we haven'ty, we've not
agreed to anything. We've signed him in a contract. He's
taking Jonathan's spot on the show.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
Hey, I get it, guys.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
You know now it's time for everybody's least favorite part
of the episode, the second immunity challenge.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Is this just because of what happens?
Speaker 1 (30:57):
No, it's everybody's least favorite.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Because I'm the one talking about it.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
I thought he was gonna say because he doesn't like
this challenge. I love this. I love this challenge. Some people.
I saw some little mergies. But what do we call
a little merger? Call them little mergies, called the little mergies.
Some of people were saying that they don't like the
what's it called.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
The emotion Chris emotion. Christen's here just emotions. Some people
don't like this emotion, and I love some emotion. I
was excited and then I then I saw some people
being like, I don't like emotions.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
And it made me second guess everything I thought. I knew. No, No,
you're right, yea, christ emotions. Kristen just showed up. Maybe
Kristin wants to gloat a little bit.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Sit down down everyone, it's a live studio audience so much.
Speaker 9 (31:53):
Yeah, I mean, Jonathan, he's not a winner, so.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
What I do?
Speaker 5 (31:58):
But you know, all the same side.
Speaker 9 (32:00):
Christ I had no doubt that we were winning, especially
once we got to the final five. I was like,
for sure, it's gonna be Joe or Kyle.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
Now, Kristen, can you please back up the fact that
we both really agreed that we thought Joe and Kyle
were draft picks for us.
Speaker 9 (32:17):
I remember wanting to draft Kyle before Joe.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
I remember a bit of an argument happening on the
draft episode.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
I'd like to go back and listen to it, because
I do think there was some sort of argument that
took place about the order of Kyle. Guys.
Speaker 6 (32:37):
We'll actually go really in detail with the draft recap episode.
So make sure you're still listening to us even though
this was the finale.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
We've got more episodes coming in the next Thanks.
Speaker 6 (32:48):
All right, baby, it's everybody's favorite part of the episode.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
It's some motion time.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Baby.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
We've got Camilla versus Joe, versus Evil versus Kyle. You've
got one hand behind your back. On go, you drop
a ball down the shoot, It's gonna spiral to the
bottom where you catch it and put it back in.
At regular intervals, you will add more and more balls
until you've got too many balls to handle. If at
any point a ball drops, you are out. Everyone makes
(33:17):
it to three balls until finally Eva drops one.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
She's the first one out.
Speaker 6 (33:23):
Funniest part of this challenge Eva is sitting there crying.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
That's not funny. The funny part is Jeff keeps making
her feel worse, kept.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
Saying stuff like Eva has lost the ability to control
her destiny in this game and she does not get.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
To choose who goes to fire.
Speaker 5 (33:41):
I bet she feels like a real loser.
Speaker 6 (33:44):
Yeah, you can tell that because this challenge goes so quickly.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Jeff is just like spewing like he does ever stop,
and so he's just flows state anything that pops in
his head.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
He's saying, I really do love somemotion.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
Me too.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
It's just it. It was like a perfect challenge for
a level playing field.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
And that shot that they did where they just went
across and showed all the balls moving.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
Yeah, sick, beautiful.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Yeah what Jonathan's saying. I like it because you can
be strong, you can be smart. It doesn't matter. It's
whoever's focused. Yeah, left right, left, right, left right at gile. Okay, guys, Kyle,
Camilla and Joe, keep going until.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
We've got four balls. Okay, the record is five balls.
Speaker 6 (34:27):
We don't quite get there because Camilla drops dashed.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah they they weren't actually, but they will be soon.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
It's Kyle versus Joe once again this season, battling it
out for the win, and just a few minutes later,
Joe drops. Kyle is the winner of the Final Immunity Challenge.
He's gonna be in the Final three no matter what.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Yes, yes, yeah, shout out to Kyle.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
This is when you knew you were screwed red bed No.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
But because there's still fire, So I was like, I'm
not dead until I am yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Once again. Though. This is when I told them earlier Kristen,
that I felt like I felt so comfortable that I
checked out mentally a little bit while watching the finale,
and this just kind of solidified it.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
I felt really great, good for you. I didn't check
out at all. I was stressed, and then I was sad,
and then I didn't end until the next thing.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
Yeah, we didn't feel stressed, you hear, I feel.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Stressed the throne of ease the team right.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
Yeah, yeah, team Right's feeling. I don't know if you
heard this, but we're not stressed.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
All right? You want to keep going so we get
back to the stupid milk beach. Alright, it's not stupid.
I'm just upset, Kyle. How about how about I read
you want to do to try to cheer me up? Yeah,
for a few minutes and then again probably, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
I don't know, I don't know. I'm so torn.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
I like I like that kid ba Banu feeds Jelenski's
coconut out of his hand.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Read that one more time.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Banu feeds jelenski coconut out of his hand.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
That's why I put it in brackets.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Sorry, yes, thank you, I apologize for making it not right.
And I really like Jess, She's the one who's consoling me.
But I'm gonna I'm going to suck up my emotions,
drain my tears, just put a name on the parchment
tonight and be at peace with it. The first tribal
(36:46):
council gives you a perspective like on.
Speaker 6 (36:49):
The first.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
I thought it was gonna be like five episodes.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Like if you know who is on your side. We
all came to an agreement and we all vote to eliminated.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Je Linusy out of the picture. This is only the first.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Um shanty um shanty, even though we all were the
same way.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
I'm getting nervous, I'm getting.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Paranoid, and I feel like most of my tribe members
they're very strategic, and I feel like I have to
be very careful.
Speaker 6 (37:31):
When do we get him cursing God? It's not coming today.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Still haven't gotten to cursing God. That did cheer me up.
So that was part number four that Brandon's read, and
then he's almost halfway through.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
So make sure you guys watch next week.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
Or listen all right, Beck at the Milk Beach, Kyle
keeps his promise. He picks Joe to go to the
end of the game and it's Team pet facing off
in fire Camilla and Eva. Kyle tells Eva this and
she's crushed, but she said she's gonna go in and
build a killer fire. So Camilla and Eva go to
practice and tell me about how practice went for both
(38:07):
of them.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Brand It was.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Two different experiences but similar rides. At the very least.
We have Eva who goes off by herself, which was
surprising to me at first. I kind of anticipated that
Joe would be with her the entire time. But Joe
was just laying down and she's Eva's over there and
she's trying to make her fire and she's struggling, and
(38:30):
you can see her getting frustrated and then more frustrated
and even more frustrated until she begins to cry and
not just tears like at the end of the challenge
where she's over there and she's just like got tears
coming down. He ride these were this was loud crying,
so loud and so loud.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
That like she's like, what am I doing wrong? So loud.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
In fact, that Joe and Kyle, who are back at
camp chilling out, and I don't know how far away
she was us, but you they hear her and Joe's like,
I'm going to go check on her, to which Kyle
is like, hey, man, make sure when you talk to her,
you like you know her, look at her and like
tell her how she can do it. And Joe's like, okay,
(39:15):
you held me up like ten seconds, but yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Kyle is like, I really don't want you in the fire.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (39:22):
Yes, I was taking that as Kyle being like, look
at her like, if she's not okay, tell me and
then I'm gonna throw That's okay.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Yes, that makes so much more sense than what.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
He actually which when you look at her like, talk
to her, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Really you that make.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
And in tracks with kind of what he like says
later in his confessional about what he was considering. But
so Joe goes up to her and uh gives her
a hug, does the squeezing exercise that they talked about
earlier in the season, and that calmed her down and
then he was able to give her some feedback, show
(40:05):
her some things and right away she is crushing it.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
She makes a great fire.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
And I said in the chat, this is the only
time I think in the history that a firefighter has
encouraged someone to make a giant bonfire in the middle
of the forest. Oh yeah, I'm sure he was conflicted.
But then you have Camilla, who is also struggling, and
she's kind of off on her own.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
No one goes to check on her.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
But slowly, over time she begins to try to some
different things and she's finally able to make some fire.
And I think, for me, and I don't know if
you guys were feeling the same way, I was very
confident in Camilla's ability to be cool under pressure. Yeah,
I wasn't sure how Eva was going to handle the
(40:50):
spotlight truly being on her, knowing what happened earlier in
the day and how she kind of had an episode, yeah,
when she wasn't able.
Speaker 5 (40:59):
To actually with the development of her practicing with coconut
husks and coconut rights. Yeah, and not to not to
jump too far ahead, but it's you know, in fire making,
it is just a basket of twigs and branches and.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
Yeah, you know which I don't know, have there ever
been coconut husks, Yeah, no, Yeah, I'm pretty sure they
have really make some changes depending on the season.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Jonathan, you've seen like five seasons.
Speaker 4 (41:25):
Why did you even at least six?
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Yeah, Jonathan, you didn't win your wife did? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (41:31):
Wait what I agree with you.
Speaker 6 (41:36):
I think the biggest thing about this scene is a
lot of people started panicking if you were rooting for
Joe and Kyle, because both of them were like, I'm
putting myself in the fire, and I was hoping that
was gonna.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
Two things happened.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
One before he teaches her or gives her some tips
about making fire, he's like let me. Joe is like,
let me do this for you, and to which she
was adamant no, like I'm doing this, uh, which good honor.
And then we get a confessional from Kyle which is
based like he wasn't like super clear, but he was
(42:08):
kind of alluding to the fact that he's considering, yeah,
putting himself.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
I'm not just do it myself, right, which.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Seemed like it was on the table at least until
you know.
Speaker 5 (42:18):
Which made me so mad.
Speaker 9 (42:20):
I checked my earlier statement that I was not stressed
at all, because this is at one moment of stress.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Until until he says said the names. I'm sure there
was a little bit of like relief.
Speaker 5 (42:31):
Well he said it, and then it kind of seemed
like Eva was very determined to get it. Yeah. So
then at that point I was like, okay, okay, okay,
I'm not stressed anymore.
Speaker 1 (42:40):
Both of the rights have done this where it's like
I was so calm, didn't feel any stress at all.
It's like, oh wait, no, I was stressed one time.
Speaker 9 (42:46):
Now, like twenty seconds out of the whole two hours.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
That'll take us right into our next challenge time with Chase.
But this time it's a fire making challenge.
Speaker 4 (42:58):
Wow, it was about us. My favorite part of that.
Speaker 6 (43:01):
Was is it it's devolved? My my little bit is
I'm just Adam Sandler.
Speaker 4 (43:07):
Now are we ready to talk about fire making? Fire maker? Okay,
two of them get up. That is evil.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Just let's go.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
Pay brought in a tiny bottle of vodka.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
I needed something to help me get through.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
He's got a orange juice.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
I love the fact that, even though this is an
audio medium, he.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
Thought of a bit that really works for the people
in the room. You didn't bring it up in the class.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Let's pass around. We're doing more orange juice in there
for me.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
You put barely put more in for me.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
Yes, fire making challenge. And by the way, just to
paint the full picture, because again.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
It's tropicana orange juice that he probably got at a
gas station.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
I'm assuming you want something it has some pulp.
Speaker 6 (44:22):
I've never had a twister with with some pulp. That's insane, dude.
It's you drinking vodka orange juice with some pulp.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
Brands. Had a sip of my.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Before I took a sip, I kind of stopped listening.
I missed the pulpark miss there was pulp.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
I won't be I will be you.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
I was just gonna raw dog this episode after the
emotional toll I went through.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
Man, that's so funny, dude, keep the direction of the
some pulp.
Speaker 6 (44:56):
Please, I've got an important I've gotta podcast, an audio
only podcast.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
I gotta get to. Okay, it's gonna crush.
Speaker 6 (45:05):
So it's Eva and Camilla are doing fire Two of
them get up and they get to choose which fire
making station they go to, Blue or purple. Eva says
you can have purple and takes the blue seat. Now,
this caused a stir on Survivor Twitter, where people were
saying that it was rigged for Eva, and that's why
(45:26):
she was making sure to get the blue. It's toxic,
it's disgusting. It's Survivor Twitter. Y. You know, I haven't.
I haven't been on Twitter in a while. It's good
to see that nothing Stan.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
It's disgusting. It's so disgusting Survivor Twitter. Every time we
ever bring up Survivor Twitter, we need to do some
little disclaimer.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
It's disgusted, it's toxic, it's disgusting. It's Survivor Twitch. You
know it's bad. When Survivor read it seems like the
safe place.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
Yea.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
Oh, it's so nice though.
Speaker 5 (46:00):
What an odd theory though, I mean they're like, yeah,
I mean, it's just that's I feel like at that
point people just want to hate her. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (46:09):
People people just drink that RFK juice. Brother, they just
hate autism.
Speaker 4 (46:14):
All right.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
And when I got in the studio, I showed brand
the mug and I was like, I just brought it
to have it.
Speaker 4 (46:24):
I didn't think I took your word for it.
Speaker 6 (46:27):
Well, dude, I knew because Pete kept talking in the
chat last night about how he's gonna be drinking vodka
from his merry mug. I thought like, maybe you already
had some in there, and you were just gonna keep
it quiet like Pete's drinking on the job.
Speaker 4 (46:40):
I didn't know it was gonna be a set piece. Okay, guys.
Speaker 6 (46:45):
What is very interesting about this fire making is Eva
gets a huge lead. Camilla can't even get a flame going.
But Eva gets her flame high enough for the rope,
but the wind is blowing it away from the rope.
This is exactly how Teeny lost fire making last season.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
To him, this causes Yeah also Christen's player Yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
Meat as well.
Speaker 6 (47:08):
This causes Eva to start to panic and she is spiraling.
He she starts to cry, her flame drops back down
to being very pardon the.
Speaker 4 (47:16):
Pun, Teeny, very nice.
Speaker 6 (47:21):
Everyone's trying to comfort her, like everyone, even Camilla, who says, girl,
you're doing so much better than me, and girl.
Speaker 4 (47:28):
I can't even catch a flame. Frick yeah, freck. But
I mean, honestly, it's not.
Speaker 6 (47:34):
The most eventful fire making because very shortly after Eva's
flame burns the rope and she is going to the
final three, PD started begging God to kill everyone in Fiji.
Speaker 4 (47:44):
As Camilla is sent to the jury. As he takes
a sip from his mother, Mary Muck was having.
Speaker 9 (47:51):
Like a Bonu level meltdown.
Speaker 7 (47:53):
I was.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
He was not a melt down, more like a survivor
induced depression.
Speaker 5 (48:00):
It was like, I know, here's here's the question I
have for PD now is enough about what you think?
What did your dad think of this moment?
Speaker 1 (48:10):
Because he was he did. He could see that I
was bummed, and he's like, oh, that sucks.
Speaker 7 (48:14):
You know.
Speaker 5 (48:15):
That's a good dad.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
But like, glad you're still on your team, right, Eva
is still on my team.
Speaker 3 (48:21):
But I had my heart set okay, But like, was
there any part of you like after it happened, you
were like, did you process at all?
Speaker 4 (48:30):
Like Eva's chances and ability to still win? I did.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
I was like Eva's biggest cheerleader in this episode too,
and I continue to be. But there was just this
sadness that I could feel, you know. Ye the chasers,
the remaining Tito's.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Dare me to drive after we're Tito sponsorship next year.
It's gonna crush.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
After the fire making challenge, Camilla was crying and Jeff
asked what the emotion was because in the middle of
her challenge, while Camilla was failing, she still helped Eva. Yeah,
and Camilla said, I have this voice in my head.
It's always like, dude, you suck, you suck, you suck,
you suck. But there's this other voice in my head
becoming louder and louder on Survivor as the days go on.
(49:14):
Even if I sucked at Fire, I'm proud of the
game I played and that's the best feeling in the world.
And Guys, I'll tell you this right now, I have
zero regrets about drafting Camilla Good. I had a lot
of regrets about drafting Sue, but I have zero regrets
about drafting Camilla because I think Camilla is one of
the greatest players I've ever drafted. And if it just
wasn't her night in the Fire, great, She is.
Speaker 9 (49:36):
A great player. I mean, she's fully like if she
had been in the final three, her and Kyle did
play the same game. They talked about that, yeah, and
it really could have gone to upd And.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
That's why I had a hard time accepting it so well.
Speaker 6 (49:49):
And the worst thing about it is everyone on the
jury said that if Camilla was in the Fire three,
everyone would have voted for her.
Speaker 4 (49:54):
Yeahah, let's be real.
Speaker 5 (49:56):
I bet Camilla's brother wouldn't have made it as far
as her.
Speaker 6 (49:59):
We don't know that now, what if what if she
gets home from veg and they're like, he would have won.
Speaker 4 (50:07):
We're not proud of you four.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
So look, I I was really sad, but I had
to accept it. But I did do a little tribute
to Kamila So brand, would you please fire up the
Katie barrel?
Speaker 5 (50:20):
Oh wow, Camilla, this.
Speaker 8 (50:25):
One is for you. You're like a guies summer in
the winter, like hard candy, Sir Price, Senator Old, just
(50:46):
the show kid, Ben, Your one.
Speaker 1 (50:49):
Suits had the best.
Speaker 8 (50:52):
I said that I thought you were the greatest. How
could you be out?
Speaker 6 (50:59):
Next?
Speaker 8 (51:01):
She burned the roadprent Sorch was survet. Jeff said, here's
the final three and I've had enough.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Casmen.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
I watch them.
Speaker 8 (51:19):
I am thinking of you, thinking of you, Camilla. She
went to, you were the one who was driving the
bus and they're reversing that. Boss O commill.
Speaker 10 (51:45):
The past.
Speaker 9 (51:50):
Felt the rest.
Speaker 5 (51:52):
It was like it's almost too good again, Pd.
Speaker 2 (51:55):
I'm stingld Eva Erickson from Survivor forty eight and Autism
three sixteen says, I just voted your ass out?
Speaker 4 (52:04):
Woah, how did you do that? To PD?
Speaker 5 (52:07):
Sorry? I checked out when his team lost and now
he's just chaotic to make.
Speaker 4 (52:13):
Guy Kadia boarded side. All right, you want to know
what's pitiful.
Speaker 6 (52:19):
I kind of tricked myself before the finale, like maybe
Mitch has a change that was a part of this.
Speaker 1 (52:25):
Mitch could do it instead of finishing the podcast. I'm
just gonna I'm gonna do it again. You're like a
guy your knees summer and Okay, we'll actually, uh, we'll
get on this with this show. I guess that was beautiful.
Speaker 4 (52:38):
P D. It was.
Speaker 5 (52:39):
It was very It's very beautiful, and honestly, you're saying
it just like Katie.
Speaker 4 (52:44):
Perry with a surprise center. Yes, it was beautiful.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
So we've got our final three and they all wake
up on the final day, Day twenty six. They all
wake up in the final day, beautiful, final day. A
boat comes. A boat comes and brings them some food,
and Kyle says, you never know what the jury is
(53:12):
going to do. And then we get some intense tight
shots and soundbites from the jury.
Speaker 5 (53:16):
Hmmm.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
We got a nice close up of Cedric where you
just look really intense. And this is where we get
a little secret time. Eva tells everyone she's a genius.
She's not just a hockey jock. She's got a PhD.
She does research for the Navy. And then Kyle's like, hey,
I'm a lawyer, and then Joe says, what the hell,
I'm just a fire captain. That's what I am. So
(53:38):
with that, it's time to go to the final tribal Council,
our last visit to Igodza, to the domes everybody. The
power shifts to the jury, and I want to read
everybody's question. But let's start with the Carolina Reaper. What
because he has something he wants to say to us?
Speaker 5 (53:56):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (53:57):
Sorrys the Carolina Reaper. Cedric McFadden back on making the merge.
I take my jury duty very serious, even though I
was around people who were not serious. We got a
lot to unpack U Ponderosa, and there were decisions to
(54:20):
be made. Game Faces on the bench was short, but
it got longer.
Speaker 5 (54:27):
And so to trust.
Speaker 4 (54:31):
Whoa dude we haven't heard from demon.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
Just read us as Instagram posts.
Speaker 4 (54:36):
That's awesome. I gotta be honest.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
I thought I thought he said the.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
I did five takes of that trying to make it
not sound like that word.
Speaker 5 (54:46):
And that was the classess you did this. Are you
telling me that's I mean? I mean.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
Boat came and it was a beautiful boat on day
twenty six.
Speaker 4 (54:56):
Anyway, it was night, beautiful night. It was a night time.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
So shah. He tells Eva that she created a social bond.
She insulated herself with the social game, and for somebody
who's neurodivergent, people didn't see that coming for her.
Speaker 4 (55:10):
And then Chrissy butts in, Chrissy is speaking, Chrissie.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
Butts in, Oh no, the Chrissy body's back. Baby. Chrissie says,
youse guys are tight, obviously, but only one of you
can win the million dollars, so you gotta go after
each other. At this point, I love still. Chrissy said it.
(55:47):
I don't understand, you know, is this where you betray
each other? You're so tight, but only one to us
is gonna get the million?
Speaker 7 (55:57):
Who?
Speaker 1 (56:04):
And Eva said, I don't think we have to betray
each other. We're battling it out respectfully. And then Joe says,
I want to be clear, to let me be clear.
Speaker 4 (56:14):
Let me be clear.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
I did not want to address that issue at all
this entire game. I wasn't going to leverage it against anybody,
and then Joe said it was something that came up
and he felt like he needed to do it personally
off to the side, and he said, I'm not going
to take direct jabs at her, but I'm going to
try to win this game.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
Spoiler alert, he does not try to win this game.
Speaker 5 (56:37):
Yeah, yeah, really dude, what a what a twist on that.
But I really respect how he kind of approached it, yeah,
which was like, I'm not going to take the bait
that you're trying to like dangle out here in front
of us to fight like.
Speaker 9 (56:50):
It was just odd because it's like I feel like
that was really what Chrissy thought. She was like, this
just makes sense, like this is the next step obviously
each other. And I'm like, fine, you can just like
state the facts of how they played the game. It
doesn't have to be this huge thing.
Speaker 6 (57:06):
Yeah, and Eva, it was so good at explaining her game,
did a.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Really good job.
Speaker 5 (57:10):
Well she was good.
Speaker 1 (57:11):
She fell into one trip that we'll get into.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
But yeah, but I like this was the final moment
where I was still confident that Joe was gonna win.
Speaker 4 (57:19):
He answered that. I was like, Okay, yeah, I see
where this is going.
Speaker 10 (57:22):
To go.
Speaker 6 (57:22):
You also saw fake spoilers Brandon is wet behind the
more moisture ears.
Speaker 4 (57:36):
Yeah, so what I thought I had the season spoiled
for me earlier season, I did it so Eva, Yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Thought she was doing a really good good job at
explaining her game up to this point. Joe, that moment
that we just talked about was like, really one of
the only things joke I was.
Speaker 5 (57:52):
Guys, I was. I was floored at the fact that
Joe didn't say anything to defend his game.
Speaker 4 (57:59):
I'm sure he did.
Speaker 1 (58:00):
They're there for a long time, but the editors know
who's the most important, and that is Camilla.
Speaker 3 (58:08):
Joe just kind of was like that line and then
like a couple of times just being like, I'm just
a fireman.
Speaker 4 (58:14):
You know, that's all joking. It was like, my game
speaks for itself. Okay, yeah, but okay, let's hear from
Star what.
Speaker 10 (58:25):
A little beautiful chancklin ass bitches round Like at the
last day of Savina twenty six, I really want try
to know that your families will be proud.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
I'm proud of you, guys.
Speaker 10 (58:34):
Not to get started with my question, what I want
to know is exactly what undercover moves, possible betrayals, are
even supermoves that we don't know that you did tell
me something to wow Meat, because my mind is not
made up, and I honestly would like to know what
is it that we don't know?
Speaker 5 (58:48):
Tell me something new.
Speaker 4 (58:50):
A great question too.
Speaker 1 (58:51):
Yeah, Star is awesome.
Speaker 9 (58:54):
My biggest regret is taking Cedric over Star.
Speaker 4 (58:57):
Good.
Speaker 5 (58:58):
They both ended up losing, but they did still more.
Speaker 9 (59:04):
Yeah, we had a favorite, and we also had to
give pet his like all female.
Speaker 4 (59:12):
Team and I'm yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
But Eva the worst year for that. But Eva reveals women.
Eva reveals her shut up chase. Eva reveals her safety
without power that she didn't even have to play. Kyle
talks where did she keep it? Where did she?
Speaker 4 (59:29):
She canted her stone cold best. Yeah, holding out of
one of the pouches, and I just found it so great.
Thought it was fantastic. She's like hold on everybody, no.
Speaker 5 (59:37):
One's chasing.
Speaker 4 (59:41):
Power.
Speaker 5 (59:42):
Yeah, that was actually like a huge flex though in
front of the jury, like to just be like that
honest didn't use it. When she did that, I got
really worried that she was gonna win.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
I was really hoping she would. But Kyle talked about
being incarcerated when he was younger, and that he's a
lawyer and that he want to help people just like him,
and Chrissy's mind was blown. But then Eva said, let
me blow your mind again because I'm a hockey official.
I'm super proud. But guys, I'm actually a genius and
I do Navy research. So take that, Kyle, dude.
Speaker 6 (01:00:12):
I think Joe was hurt when Eva explained that she was, like,
she like does research for the Navy, because he was like,
I've been taking.
Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Care of you this whole time, and you're a genius.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
But he was funny about he said, I'm just a
dumb fireman, like he was taking it in stride.
Speaker 4 (01:00:25):
Yeah, but still I would have been upset. Now you
should have been taking care of me.
Speaker 5 (01:00:29):
I'm dumb, far ahead in this, but I was a
little shocked.
Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
Well then don't well, I guess I will jump a
little ahead.
Speaker 5 (01:00:39):
Hit the music brand hit it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
St Austin had the safety without power?
Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
What then she had the immunity idol? What then she
had an advantage of the last tribal What? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Then Jonathan wants to jump ahead?
Speaker 5 (01:00:59):
Yea jump I'm gonna jump right now, guys, because Here's
what actually got me even more worried that Eva was
gonna take it, which was when Star set up this
beautiful question of like, tell me something I don't know.
Kyle did not bring up the big move I as
his first argument, and I was like, dude, what are
(01:01:19):
you doing? Why are you talking about being a lawyer?
No one cares?
Speaker 9 (01:01:23):
Right, I was shocked. I was literally like, Kyle, you.
Speaker 5 (01:01:26):
Are I thought he wasn't gonna say anything.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Well, and I don't, like, what's the point of keeping
a secret about your occupation? Which is like the reason
why it's not like why he kept his secrets because
people think he already has money, but.
Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
Like they're deciding that right now. The whole reason he
come to it was a secret was for this moment.
Speaker 6 (01:01:45):
And I don't know why he keeps thinking like revealing
he went to jail is like a big.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
Like what yeah, Like, dude, oh my goodness, you how
many people we put in jail? Yeah? I have a
cousin in jail right now, Let's give him the million dollars.
Speaker 5 (01:01:58):
Think that I'm jumping a little ahead on the fact
that Camilla basically had to tee him up and.
Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
Do like I'm not gonna lie made it even better?
Speaker 5 (01:02:09):
It did, so do you want me to jump there?
Then jumped to it, Man, jump to it. I'm ready,
all right.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
So Mary asked what the jury's perception of everybody is
and if they're wrong. Eva talked about how she has
a bigger role in the duo with Joe than people realize,
and David said, hey, prove it. And this is where
Eva falls into the trap because she brought up the
Shaheen vote and in Eva's mind, she got sha Heen
out because he was trying to split up her. In Joe,
Camilla's eyes got real big because she knew what just happened,
(01:02:36):
and she looked at Kyle and whispered, I got you,
I got you, and then she alliuped it and Kyle
dunked it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:42):
What a wing woman.
Speaker 9 (01:02:43):
I told Jonathan that as crazy as that Shaheen move was,
I once it happened, I was like, this is the
move that will get the jury to vote for Kyle.
Speaker 7 (01:02:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:02:53):
Yeah, But he almost didn't even freaking talk about it.
If Camilla hadn't just looked at him been like, I'm
gonna do it. You need to do it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
We don't know that he might have brought it up.
Speaker 5 (01:03:02):
Maybe, but he didn't in the one question that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
Was some jail and lawyer stuff that he get in.
Speaker 5 (01:03:09):
I mean, I'm glad things still went my way, but
in that moment, I was like, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
I couldn't believe though.
Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
Star was like, what's something sneaky that you did during.
Speaker 4 (01:03:19):
What no one knows about it? And he says, the
lawyer occupation.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
That's that's what he was every season.
Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
It was almost like he was still trying to protect
a secret alliance. I don't know if y'all knew that
it was actually, but it's like he was almost still
trying to protect it, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
When he said it was a secret. When when when
he revealed the secret alliance thing, people were like, what, yeah,
I told you, I told you.
Speaker 5 (01:03:45):
Yeah. The reveal on that was really it was.
Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
It was a lot bigger of a reaction than Sue.
Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
When it happened.
Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
When I was announced and the camera just pans over
to David, like David's reactions everything.
Speaker 5 (01:03:58):
Yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Speaking of David, David asked a knockknock question, made a
knock knock Joe.
Speaker 7 (01:04:07):
Knock.
Speaker 6 (01:04:07):
David has an question, Wait, wait, can you recite so
much Tito's.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
I might have. Hey, hey, Brand, could you cueue up
the knock knock question.
Speaker 9 (01:04:14):
Knock, who's not me?
Speaker 7 (01:04:19):
Joe?
Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
The same thing that has ever happened in Survivor.
Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
I just, guys, I just want to make it abundantly
clear what happened here. David decided I'm going to commit
to a bit where I'm now for five yeah, where
I'm out for like five straight wowed, and then and
then I'm gonna do all of that so I can
do well.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
Brand, let me cut you off. Just explain the mew
thing one we're.
Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
Not come on it. I'll explain it very quickly. Brand's
so old. When he saw mewing, he thought it was meowing.
Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
Yeah, he was waiting for it.
Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
He back off. Everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Our little mergies were like, he's mewing, And David was like,
whoa wait, when is.
Speaker 5 (01:04:56):
He gonna be a cat? That's my picture of be
Can we also can we also ask the question, what
does his joke even?
Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
That's what he had all that time.
Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
He set all this up for my calculation, the worst
knock knocked all the time, knock knock, who's there?
Speaker 7 (01:05:19):
Not me?
Speaker 4 (01:05:19):
Congratulations?
Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
But to make the joke has to be there.
Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
What is not me? Even mean?
Speaker 6 (01:05:26):
I think he wanted to be like, hey, I'm not
actually upset, No, I'm not at the finale, like I'm
not in the final three.
Speaker 5 (01:05:31):
Right looked at them as, oh, hey, you know what.
Speaker 8 (01:05:37):
Not me?
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
That's what I took it is I'm not you guys
are That makes a lot?
Speaker 4 (01:05:43):
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
I was the only one to crack the code on
the knock knock question.
Speaker 5 (01:05:47):
Cryptogram could have been like knock knock, who's their final three?
Final three? Who you you know? That would have been
at least something.
Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
Let's run it back, Jeff, bring them all back again.
Speaker 6 (01:05:59):
The awkward silence when he said when he said knock knock,
and everyone just.
Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
Looking at her was like, who's there? And he goes,
not me. Yeah, listen to the confusion. I cut out
some of the signs, but listen to the confusion.
Speaker 5 (01:06:13):
Knock, who's there?
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
There those pauses of the confusion.
Speaker 5 (01:06:18):
Is impossible to get a comedy stunt man to step
in for someone when they're not.
Speaker 6 (01:06:22):
Really he's a survivor legend now in my book, because
that was the dumbest thing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
So the survivor legend. David asked him about challenges, and
Kyle said, the only thing people said to him about
challenges was he had a bubble butt, so he needs
to call up on the Cedric's friends to get that
taken care of.
Speaker 5 (01:06:41):
Hr is just like, oh boy, here we.
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
Go, which was basically like sure.
Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
He did not like know, he didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:06:50):
At all, and then even nothing funny about a joke.
Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
Jonathan earns his key.
Speaker 5 (01:07:00):
That's right, that's right. I get another season. Boys.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
So Eva Eva said, we watched Maria, who's an old woman,
almost break the record.
Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
I'm like, whoa with.
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
The shots at Maria. I was trying to think back.
I thought Maria was a challenge beast kind of compared
to other people in her season. She was like what
was buff?
Speaker 4 (01:07:21):
Yeah, she was weird. A lot of people upset about that,
very upset. I don't get it. I think it's funny
to make fun of people.
Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
I don't know it was weird to give it a
stray to Maria though, because like, who's thinking about I
guess they just watched forty six so fresh in all
their minds.
Speaker 5 (01:07:36):
Marie Well, I think there were a couple of things
just in the tribal with with with just Eva maybe
with like the social awareness for conversation things that I
think didn't contribute well for her, Like she started so strong,
but then there was kind of the moment when Kyle
was like, here's my story. I'm a lawyer. I was
(01:07:56):
in jail, and she kind of just cut in and
was like, I'm actually a genie, guys, and then there
was like this moment where she's like Maria's old and
I'm a challenge beast, and You're like, Okay, I don't
know that you're pumping the brakes. Maybe for this conversation.
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
Let's go to the votes. Yeah, yeah, one vote Joe,
two votes Eva, and four votes Kyle. Kyle is our.
Speaker 4 (01:08:20):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
We've done it. This is our final recap of season
forty eight.
Speaker 5 (01:08:24):
Well can it hold tight? Hold tight? Because I took
two victory laps for this win, the first being that
our team won, the second being that I predicted that
there would be no zero.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
Right, so and it didn't happen for the first time
in the New era.
Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
Yeah, I'm want to point out one big thing and
then we need to we need to send it home. Yeah, guys,
Kyle's the only player we didn't have a running bit
about this season you know, oh.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
The running bit with Kyle was dude needs to make
a move, and I think we were wrong. Like he
made he like to his credit, he made the one
move and in this particular season, all you.
Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
Have we needed a bubble one right there. We could
have had a running bit about the bubble, but but
we didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
Nobody mentioned that it would have been us just objectifying him.
Speaker 6 (01:09:18):
Yeah, which we do is on the table he loves
doing about hockey legs.
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Well yeah, yeah, whoa look, those were her words early
in the seasons.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Yeah she said.
Speaker 5 (01:09:27):
It if only Colin mentioned the bubble but earlier.
Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
So yeah, we do have to get out of here.

Speaker 7 (01:10:44):

Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
