Speaker 1 (00:01):
The time machine, time machine, time machine, the time machine,
that time machine, time machine.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
And get on to the Survivor survive.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
All right, welcome to Survivor time Machine. We're talking about
a fantastic episode of Survivor today.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
This was the cook Islands. I remember this was like,
I remember this moment. I think last week I talked
about it. I was like, I don't remember what the
twist is, but I remember it being a big deal.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, And this is like an episode that when you
watch it, you go, that's how you do it.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
That's That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 6 (00:54):
That's how you do a twist on Survivor.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Hey, we get an iconic sassy Jeff mo in this episode,
so let's jump right in because I'm excited.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, So everybody at it, minus Ozzie is talking. Pinner
wants Ozzie out Mules, like, hey, let's let's not turn
on each other yet. You know, Yule is trying to
keep the peace in that moment. But Candace, she doesn't
want to be a part of the group at all.
She wants to be back with her favorite whites, Adam
and Poverty.

Speaker 7 (01:19):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
This episode.

Speaker 8 (01:23):
Yeah, Penner, I believe literally says out loud, let's just
go together with all the whites, like.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
I doesn't have the exact quote. I have the exact quote. Okay,
maybe it'll be US Caucasians in the final four.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yeah, and that when I said, oh, he just Pinner
wants a Caucasian final four. Let's get the whites all
the way to the end, baby, That's Pinner's game plan.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
That's every season.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
But Candace isn't so sold on whites all the way
because she wants Jonathan GoF.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
She likes other whites, though she wants to really get
with her old whites.

Speaker 5 (02:01):
She doesn't care much for the new white.

Speaker 8 (02:04):
The interesting thing about Penner in this episode in particular,
and we'll get to there's a lot of Penner to
go around this episode, but it feels like for as
like in control of the game up until when he
had to be evacuated medically in Heroes Versus Villains, that

(02:25):
he felt like he was in control, like for that
little run that he had there.

Speaker 9 (02:29):
It feels like he thinks he's in control of this
season and he's not, like everybody is scheming around him,
and it feels like he thinks that he had like
he's got his finger on the pulse of everything.

Speaker 8 (02:44):
In reality, it doesn't really feel like he does, like
in all the other conversations that happened without him, And
so it's interesting to compare that to his performance and
Heroes versus Villains, which if he didn't get medically evacuated,
I for my money, I think he has a good
chance of going all the way. There's no way to
prove that, but it's interesting.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Yeah, I mean it's kind of embarrassing.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
What happens to him in this episode is like he's
just like he thinks he's a part of the cool kids,
and all the cool kids and the not cool kids
are like, we don't care about.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
It made me embarrass to be a Pinner fan.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
And that's the thing too, is like I remember, and
I guess it's because I remember Pinner's other seasons so well.
I remember thinking he was great at the game, but
so far in Cook Islands, he's not been.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Playing a great game.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
But here's the thing about Pinner in this season, great body.
I think he looks Yeah, he looks jacked.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Yeah, dude looks good man.

Speaker 7 (03:34):
This is this is prime, prime Pinner people.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, Brad says it's pretty much everyone for themselves at
this point, and that it causes uh yeah, quite a stir.
Nate already hated him.

Speaker 8 (03:47):
Yeah, I don't want to get too in the weeds
and uh two into the spoilers yet, but yeah, that's
a that was a tough thing to come back from
when you're like, hey, I think it's we're not even
of the merge yet. Brother, Like he's over here being like,
I think it's every man for himself.

Speaker 7 (04:06):
Just keep that to yourself.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Times is someone on that tribe gonna just say something
to Nate and Nate just goes, we gotta get this person,
Nate dog.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
He's hated Brad two weeks in a row now because
first he didn't volunteer to swim and then that was it.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
Yeah, dude, Which an another thing about Nate.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I feel like I say this every episode. How come
Nate was never asked back. He's one of the most
part the season.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
Nate has some great lines in this episode too, dude,
so funny. He has some sort of line about cutting
it like poop or something like that, like just really
weird stuff. But he gives some great, great confessionals.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
It's getting Nate on the show.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Oh yeah, I wonder what he's up to.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, someone track him down for us.

Speaker 8 (04:55):
Remember we were gonna have a guest every episode during
Time Machine.

Speaker 7 (04:58):
We did. We did Billy, and we were like, we
can't get better than Billy.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Right, it kind of peaks there.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
Peaked with Billy.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I mean, when you're when you're making behind the Bathroom
Deals episode two of the season, we're not going to
get better than.

Speaker 8 (05:11):
I can't get better than the Bathroom Deals.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
I think I was going to reach out to JP,
but I don't know if I ever did. John Paul. Yeah,
that guy, he.

Speaker 8 (05:25):
Would listen and then pass.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Probably is out. Or what if we had him on
and then like surprise, Billy's on too. It's like Jerry Springer.
Oh that'd be that'd be awesome. I think next up
is a challenge time with Chase.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
We have the big twist, the mutiny twist.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
What happens with the mutiny twist is everyone has the
option if they want to stay with their current tribe
or switch tribes.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
It's six six right now, so it's completely even.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
They're both standing opposite each other, and if you want
to just go to the other tribe, all you have
to do is step forward for a little bit. Nobody moves.
Jeff starts counting down from ten. Halfway through, Candice, who
has already talked about wanting to get back over there
with Adam and Parv steps forward. There's two seconds left

(06:24):
of Jeff's countdown. Jonathan Pinner panics and just jumps out
there too.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
So now those two go.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
To the other team, making it eight versus four right
before the merge.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yep, that's how business picked up in this episode or other.

Speaker 8 (06:43):
You know what it felt like kind of like high school,
you know, and you have like a crush on this
girl and she goes and she does something, and you're like, well.

Speaker 7 (06:52):
I guess I'm going too.

Speaker 8 (06:54):
But then when you get there, you realize that no
one wanted you there in the first place. I don't
know if that's just a very specific fake example from
my life, but that's what that's what That's what it
felt like to me. Like Pinner was like, I guess
I didn't need to go too, And then I have
to imagine.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
He regretted that pretty quickly, but I think he literally
says later in the episode, this might not have been
such a good move.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
So here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
They're so close to the merge. It's so so worried
that Candice is gonna leave and you're gonna.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Lose the numbers. Just wait to the merge to flip
on your current tribe. But also back to the whites later,
he would.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Have like they. He could have been beloved in that tribe,
especially you know they were about to win that reward.
He would have been able to bond with them, and
then he would have been like the loyal white.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
The two white people on the tribe betray the minorities. Yeah,
exactly what I mean, what in the colonization is going on?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Pinner wants his Caucasian Final Four.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
It's insane, dude. It really is the race war season.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
But I'm sure loved it.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
You know, they were panicking a white guy or a
white person hasn't gone home. I mean, finally Flicka went home.
But it's like the whole season, the whites have been
strong and then now they're teaming up trying to make
it to the final four. They were probably terrified. Yeah,
the reward challenge part of the guys for the reward challenge,

(08:22):
there's two people from each tribe. One tribe only has four.
Two from each tribeill get in a barrel. The rest
of the tribe will push you in the barrel through
a series of obstacles.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Along the way.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
You will collect buoys will that you will then attach
to the barrel and float the two people in the
barrel across the lagoon. Halfway through the lagoon, you have
to swim down and retrieve four flags. When you reach
the other side, you attach the flags to a flagpole.
The tribe then has to dig in the sand to
retrieve an axe, which they will then use to chop

(08:57):
a rope that will raise their flag. The first flag
raised wins reward at the Sanctuary where Good Things Happened.
It's not actually called the Sanctuary, but it's the sanctuary.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Is kind of looks not a sanctuary.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
It looks way better and they get coffee and danishes robes.
But the big thing that they're playing for is the
letters from.

Speaker 8 (09:22):
Om the t and I gotta be honest with you.
If you're gonna turn on Ozzy, don't do it right
before challenge like I saw.

Speaker 7 (09:35):
Another side of.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Oz is somebody impressed? Is somebody would you say.

Speaker 7 (09:40):
Thank you for bringing it up? PD? I am man
enough to admit when I am wrong.

Speaker 8 (09:43):
This episode, I I was like, Ozzie, this is a
this is a good Ossy episode.

Speaker 7 (09:49):
Yeah, all the way around good OZSI episode. He there
was another like he has another.

Speaker 8 (09:55):
Obviously he's very impressive and challenges that's never been a question.
But I didn't know that he had another level to
him when it came like and it's like this fire
in his eyes that I figured was usually hidden away
for behind a paywall, but just another level and it
was really impressive to see.

Speaker 7 (10:16):
Did you what did you guys think about the barrel?
Like having the people in the barrel?

Speaker 4 (10:20):
They those people in the bar were getting the shit
beat out of them, dude, Like that was rough.

Speaker 8 (10:25):
It streamed like they like were just kind of poking
around there, like can we do anything with these barrels?

Speaker 7 (10:31):
And someone was like what if we put people in them?
And they were like, yeah, what if we put people?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
It's already wild if you could just put one person.
They around so it's like you're getting dizzy. Then they're
going up over these little bumps.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
Right, which was just hurt.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
And it's like Ozzy and Yule are just having to
use all their strength because I mean you know, you
got two people in the barrels, so at minimum it's
probably at least one hundred and fifty pounds, right, So
they were trying to pick it up, you know, the string,
it's hitting the ground super hard. Then you got to
tie booies to it and float them across the ocean.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
And to get the booey to the part where you
tie him, you have to like stuff them in the
barrel with the people brutal, it's rough.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
At one point, Jeff even goes the ladies in the
barrel are being suffocated by the boois.

Speaker 7 (11:22):
He loves it.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
The challenge is on its way.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
I too, is way in the lead the whole time
because they have the prints of Coconuts. Ozzie and King
Yule Rairero is struggling so bad with getting the barrel
across the lagoon that Candice who is in the barrel
and is playing for her new tribe that she just joined.
By the way, I would be concerned that she joined

(11:50):
to try to like throw the challenge, you know what
I mean. But so she's like hanging out of the
barrel swimming trying to help them because they are just
not capable of getting the barrel across the lagoon. It
is a complete blowout. I two wins the competition, while
Ozzie starts yelling at Candice and Pinner that Mutineers are

(12:10):
the first people to die. Yell HeSE are the first
people to die. Man, I don't think you could say
he yelled it. I think he he just said it.
I don't think Ozzy yells at least not.

Speaker 6 (12:21):
It was.

Speaker 7 (12:21):
It was the Ozzie equivalent of yelling. It was impassioned.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
Yeah, because he was even just like let's go. He
was very intense.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah, it was. It was a very good line. I
was like, this has to be the moment that brand
has to admit he was wrong. So I'm glad that
that already happened.

Speaker 7 (12:37):
Yes, I did it.

Speaker 8 (12:39):
It almost felt like these people were in two different
bodies of water, like they just experienced it completely different.
Like one it felt like they were like battling like
a storm out in the middle of the ocean.

Speaker 7 (12:53):
They're like, we can't do it, and the other one
just like, hey, here we go.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
It was crazy, Yeah.

Speaker 7 (12:58):
It was.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
It was really the winning tribe gets to send the
losing someone from the losing tribe to Xole Island, which
I'm not sure what the point of Exile Island has
been this season, but it was.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
Very funny because Ozzie goes.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Hm, who are we going to send ah Candace? So
as kind of like an fu for betraying us, they
send Candace to exou Island, which is and cantrimental.

Speaker 8 (13:23):
Yeah, And the nice thing is and if if the
if they were thinking it through, they might have been
able to figure out, hey, maybe you'll might have the idol,
because I feel like, if you're so mad at Candace,
you only send her to Exile Island if you know
there's no possible way of her actually getting any sort

(13:43):
of advantage, and so it's really just payback, right because
they know, like you'll know. And h I found that
to be interesting, like if if there was a chance
for an idol, you they maybe wouldn't have sent Candace
because they're so mad at her.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Mm. Yeah, I didn't think about that at all. It's like,
here's the pointless exile segment.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
Yeah, thoughtless.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
It's pointless because of Yule.

Speaker 7 (14:11):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
And I mean we've seen several people have the conversation.
I think Pinner in particular, being like there's no way
that that idol is there. So I think that everyone
thinks that the idol has been taken. They just don't
know who has it except for Yule of course.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
So Cannice being.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Alone on exile, though, means that she is not capable
of spending time with the new tribe that she just
mutant need for.

Speaker 8 (14:36):
Yeah, maybe Pena can really kind of get the troops
together himself.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
To worry about it.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
But Yule, Azzie, Sundra, and Becky went to the sanctuary
not sanctuary, and they played this bizarre royalty free like
country blues sounding music when they got there. It really
threw me off.

Speaker 7 (14:58):
It was like the music, I'll say that much.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Definitely not But they were all wearing robes and eating doughnuts,
and they all got pictures and letters from home, So
like this place it really is the sanctuary where good
things happen.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
He yeah, way better than the actual sanction.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Pennery he's on New Railroad now, and he's not feeling
comfy at all. He's trying to make a sales pitch,
Like when he's talking to everybody, He's he's like, look,
I'm trustworthy, all right, And me and Kansas like we
wouldn't have done this if we didn't feel really good
about everyone over here. And it just did not seem
to land at all.

Speaker 7 (15:30):
No.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Nate even says, and I quote, you must be smoking
some good stuff if you think you're gonna roll up
in our crib and start stirring waters. Yeah, And he
also makes another good point, which is, uh, you know what,
Pinner goes, I think I like to think of myself
as a loyal person, and Nate goes, Dude, you just
betrayed your other tribes.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
He's working really hard to try to save himself and yeah,
it wasn't working, but he was talking to Adham, and
it briefly worked on Adam because Adam Adam is like,
you want to go to the final four with me?
Like you want me in your final four? That sounds
good to me.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Yeah, And Adam later on has a really good argument
for keeping Pinner, which is he.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
Can't go back to his old tribe, right and.

Speaker 8 (16:16):
Yeah, literally, and it was so shortsighted like by Pinner,
like you can kiss, like if he does get to
the finals, you can kiss those four people's votes goodbye,
like not gonna get them.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
That's it's a level and and they don't seem to
be as upset with Candas as they are with Pinner.

Speaker 7 (16:37):
Yeah, I think they.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Candas kind of had a plan in place, Like Candace
was wanted by Adam and Parv like that was her alliance.
So I don't think they cared as much but Pinner.
For Pinner to go, it puts them at such a
disadvantage going into the merge because it's four versus.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
Eight.

Speaker 8 (16:57):
Yeah, you know, and I think there's everybody, and I
think I think everyone talks about it in this episode,
but it just very much feels like Pinner's playing both sides.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
Yeah, but now he had to make a choice, and
he made the wrong choice for sure.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yeah, And I think that brings us to Immunity Challenge
time with Chase.

Speaker 7 (17:13):
Everybody's second favorite episode.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
It's the Immunity Challenge. Guys.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
You have to paddle out in a glass bottom boat
looking for underwater targets. A glass bottom boat, really like
how that flows?

Speaker 7 (17:27):
Glass bottom boats?

Speaker 8 (17:28):
You make Rocking World go down, round the cannon balls,
make the cannon ball go down.

Speaker 7 (17:34):
I'll work on it, guys. It's gonna be really good.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Well, how about for forty nine, Chase names his team
the glass Bottom Boats. That's a that's a pretty good name.
The glass bottom Boats.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Baby.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
They're looking for underwater targets and when they line up
with the underwater target, you will release a cannon ball
from the boat which will hit the target and it
will release a booie. Each booie has a letter on
them and you will have to solve a word puzzle
with them. The first assault win's immunity Pinner is chosen
to play for his new tribe, which I thought was interesting.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
I do you what do you think? Because like Nate
sits out, like what.

Speaker 8 (18:10):
Do you think they have to So they have eight
the other people have four. So whoever sat down and
reward had to play. So like Candace had to sit
this time Penner's in for her and so uh.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Yeah interesting, yeah, I mean immediately so far we've seen
this in every challenge the season. Rare Row immediately goes
off course in the water. They're not able to do
much in the water, which is funny because on the
other side, I too has Ozzy, the the the King
of Atlantis, the Prince of Coconuts, the Cook Island's captain.

(18:47):
He's just a beast in every challenge, and he's got
a fire lit under him this time.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
For the listeners, every time Chase talks about Ozzy, he
looks up to the heavens.

Speaker 8 (18:58):
He does, which is really interesting because I don't know,
maybe I'm remembering a different challenge in you, but this
was Yule's challenge, Like, you'll crush this challenge.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Yeah, I mean yeah, but I mean at the end
of the day, you.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Know, hey, this is more fuel for the brandspiracy guys,
because this is two more water challenges in this episode.

Speaker 7 (19:23):
I thought the same thing PD.

Speaker 8 (19:25):
I was like, this is getting a little weird, although
this one wasn't swimming so.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
Loading and unlike a lot of these challenges. Though, Railroad
does manage to get in the lead. They are the
first one to get their booie while the Ituo tribe
is really struggling to line it up. It doesn't take
it too long though, to catch up. They tie the
whole thing up going into the last target two to two,
and that is when Pinner starts kind of panicking, unable

(19:54):
to get the coconut, not the cocon nut, the cannonball
into the water correctly. Jeff makes a comment saying that Pinner,
uh made a big error and he goes, oh, please Jeff,
and Jeff goes Jonathan getting frustrated by me, and that
was so funny.

Speaker 7 (20:13):
Great.

Speaker 8 (20:13):
It's like Jeff like asked him to repeat it, like
he couldn't believe this.

Speaker 7 (20:18):
He said, He was like, what'd you say? And he said,
I said, oh, please, Jeffy.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Y'all.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Notice, maybe it's because I had headphones on, but there
were a couple of times where I was like, man,
they're like good microphones. Break a couple of lines from
Ozzy where I was.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Crank up.

Speaker 8 (20:34):
Something happened with Ozzie's mike. Maybe when he had that
fire let under him.

Speaker 7 (20:38):
Maybe burn them.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Speaking of fire lit under him, Billy Garcia, remember, makes
a crazy return. He pops up out of the ocean,
tips over the rail row boat, causing the I two
tribe to take home the win. I'm joking, but it
does take the win. The word that is spelt with
the booies is bounty. I too, wins immunity. The rail

(21:00):
road tribe will be going to tribal with their two
new tribe members. Huh, I wonder who's going to be
going home?

Speaker 7 (21:07):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
And then it was because Brad messed up the puzzle
and the challenge, just like what happened last week in
the community challenge that even though he's a creative show. Yeah,
Brad went home last week. I don't know. We talked
about that. So and then he also like, is putting
himself in position to go home this week? You'll you'll
remember what I'm talking about.

Speaker 8 (21:27):
Yeah, oh did we?

Speaker 3 (21:32):
We thought that it was Brad. Me and Brad both
thought Brad went home last week? Yeah, after watching the
episode where I guess since I edit the show, maybe
that stuck with me.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
I'm still here, he had still here?

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Yeah, that's what I was.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
Who said that Brad went home last week?

Speaker 3 (21:49):
We did on the show. Me and Brand thought that
he who went Hold who did go home? I don't know,
but it wasn't Brad because he goes home with this
flick a right home? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (22:03):
Yeah, what did I did I go with? You guys?
Or did I say flicking?

Speaker 3 (22:07):
You were confused because we were confused.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
And I think we just kept doubling down just to
see if.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Wait, so you guys did that on purpose?

Speaker 7 (22:16):
Who can know?

Speaker 3 (22:17):
It was on an accident and then it was on purpose?

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Oh yeah, you guys are I'm not smart enough for
you guys to do.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
This to me.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
You guys are like picking on the kid that's already
behind in class.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Look, I confused myself just now, like trying to do
the bit again.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
I didn't even know you were doing a bit.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Anyway.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
I mean, yeah, we we go back to the beach
because it's time for them to go to tribal. And
it's like, I thought it was a pretty dune deal.

Speaker 7 (22:54):
I thought I thought was going home, right. Did you
guys have the same thought? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:59):
And then harlfready questions Candace, like on how tight her
and Pinner are, and that's when Candas is like, we're
not tied at all. I don't understand why he's going
to everybody and saying that like we're so close when
he's only been trying to talk to me like the
past couple days.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
I really think that, out of everyone on that beach,
the person that did the best job.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
And this is crazy to me, but it was Adam.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Adam swayed the whole vote.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
I mean, to be able to convince your whole tribe, Hey,
let's not vote out one of the new people. Let's
vote out one of the core members of our alliance,
which I mean they were already kind of leaning towards
him because of what you said earlier in the episode about.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
So I think Nate was also a big part of that.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Yeah, but Adams.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Adam's the one that convinced Nate because he goes he's
got nowhere to go. He cannot go back to his
old tribe, unlike Brad, who can flip to that other tribe.
And I just think that's one of the smartest things
that's happened in this season.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
So maybe Billy Garcia was right after all. See, it's
just like Billy is a prophet, and time goes on,
we keep getting everything he said affirmed to be one
hundred percent true. Hey, and I know we.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Brought up Billy a lot, but I kind of did
that on purpose because I learned some information about a
behind the bathroom deal that happened on Cook Islands that.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
I don't think anyone's brought up before. Guys.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
I found a par of interview from Drop Your Buffs
two years ago where she says she shared she shares
a story about how she noticed Nate during the casting
interviews at the hotel they were staying at in California.
She didn't think that she got on the show, and

(24:43):
then she ran into Nate a few days later at
a shoe store that he was working at. They both
recognized each other from the casting process. He asks her
for her number and they went on a date before
the show started.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Wow, that's that's shady.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Yeah, that's crazy, right, talk about it behind the bathroom deal.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
They did it, behind the shoe store deal.

Speaker 7 (25:08):
That's what happens when you cast.

Speaker 8 (25:10):
Everybody in California chances on dates before.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
I like, how Chase intro that with like, this has
never been found and my source is one of the
most popular survivor podcasts.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
I didn't. I didn't say. I said it hasn't been
brought up by.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
What I thought, But you're saying I uncovered this from
the very popular podcast Drop Your Boss.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
It was just one of those things that I felt
like Billy would have brought up because we we went
so into the lore of this season in the first
couple episodes of this Time Machine season. But you know whatever,
I'm a moron, No everybody Octopuss.

Speaker 7 (25:51):
I'm gonna be honest.

Speaker 8 (25:52):
Was anyone else, like for a second, a little bit
like second guessing that you knew who Brad was with
the edit because they kept showing Brat like he would
be like, vote for Brad, and then they would show Adam,
and I'm.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
Like, wait, what I do get?

Speaker 7 (26:09):
He's going home Brad.

Speaker 8 (26:11):
And then when they get to you know, the big
reveal of the next person voted out.

Speaker 7 (26:17):
Brad, they then caught too Brad.

Speaker 8 (26:20):
But Brad doesn't stand up right, and so I'm like,
what's happening.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Also, he showed zero emotion as his name was getting
pulled out over and over and over.

Speaker 8 (26:31):
It guys, I was really in it at that point.
I was questioning everything I thought I knew.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
After this dude went home last week?

Speaker 7 (26:40):
Yeah, I know he did. We face Brad did go
home last week. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
I don't even I don't even get the bit that
you guys, so I don't even understand. I'm having to
go back and listen because I don't understand what's happening.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
So we forgot the part where Nate and Adam were
saying that they wanted to beat up Or at least
Adam was saying he wanted to beat up Penn.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
Or Yeah, and then and and Nate's another one of
Nate's wonderful confessionals. He's like, Adam wants to hit him
over the head with a brick repeatedly so hard.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Yeah, I mean, he are extremely angry. I don't think
I've ever seen a Survivor player just repeatedly say over
over that he wants to kick someone's ass.

Speaker 7 (27:18):
Yeah. Yeah, he's a little a little crazy.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
That's that's that frat boy, frat boy White.

Speaker 7 (27:27):
That's the episode.

Speaker 5 (27:29):
Yeah, I mean, it's pretty much Bragg goes home.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
There is something to be brought up about Brad going
home because it's announced that Brad is actually the first
member of the jury, which is insane because this is
one of the very rare seasons where we get the
jury before the merge happens.

Speaker 7 (27:45):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
And another fun facts with Chase, Fun facts with Chase.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (27:52):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
This is the only time in Survivor history that someone
chooses to mutiny. This isn't the only time that the
option has been given, but it's the only time it's
ever been done.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Wow, all right, so it was only done by the
Whites in the race war yep.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Which lines up man and uh the preview for next week.
It looks like we're gonna have another fun episode because
Adam and Candice.

Speaker 6 (28:17):
Kiss in the preview for next week.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
I've seen her on Blood Versus Water with her husband.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
I just watched her kiss a different guy. That's crazy.

Speaker 6 (28:28):
And we have another big twist coming next week.

Speaker 7 (28:32):
How about that? Very excited about that.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
We know how much Chase is like Kissing in reality
TV is Chase's favorite thing. Chase loves the Riley and
Catherine relationships. He's like the biggest advocate of it.

Speaker 7 (28:45):
Dude, dude, he just Chase keeps sending me pictures.

Speaker 8 (28:49):
Of Riley having a boner and I come, dude, I
don't want to see that.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Yeah, no, I mean it's pretty much all I think about.

Speaker 7 (28:59):
I don't want any more more. I don't want anymore.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Chase has been like, I'll get a call for Chase
has been waking me up with notifications about Catherine.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
And I said, unsolicited Riley picks dog.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
Yeah, No, we know, we know.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
He said they're the next Robin Amber.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
Yeah, even though he did, even though that it's in
the episode that came out this week of p D
saying that I'll take full responsibility because I don't think
we've ever witnessed romance as beautiful as Riley and Catherine,
not since the Ted Bundy and his pig.

Speaker 8 (29:36):
My guy is why why are you trying to talk
Riley up?

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Hey brand, He's your only guy?

Speaker 5 (29:42):
Sorry?

Speaker 4 (29:43):
No, this is how I find out in the in
the final four minutes of The Cook Islands.

Speaker 8 (29:53):
Brother, it only takes one guy as far as I know. Again,
I'm very foggy on the rules.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
Of Big Brother.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Jimmy sadly was evicted and not sadly not sadly.

Speaker 8 (30:07):
Did what's her name volunteer to be on the block
and then went her way out of it again.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Close she won through the vote. This time she she
had to go all the way to the vote. Wow,
she made it through.

Speaker 8 (30:21):
So she didn't she didn't she didn't win the blockbuster?

Speaker 5 (30:24):
No, she did not. Wow.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
But uh, I mean yeah, Riley did. Guess what the
body part he used?

Speaker 7 (30:35):
I know one of them very well.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
All right, I'll see you guys later. I must send you,
guys a bunch of unsolicited.

Speaker 8 (30:42):
I have two bits of survivor uh news.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
I guess one is actual news. One is just thoughts.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
Okay, let's hear it.

Speaker 7 (30:52):
One do you remember not too long ago where Jeff stood,
let me finish this.

Speaker 5 (30:58):
When I remember, No, I don't remember that at all.

Speaker 8 (31:02):
When Jeff stood on the stage and basically it was like,
all these other reality shows are taking our guys. We
work hard at casting people and everybody's just taking our guys.

Speaker 7 (31:13):
And he was mad about it. Do you guys? I do?
I do?

Speaker 5 (31:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (31:16):
He has either had a change of heart or someone
at CBS said, hey, cut that, because in a new interview,
he said, Initially, when I saw Survivor players showing up
on other shows, I was pretty vocal. But now I
have a different feeling. I'm embarrassed that I was upset
about it because I.

Speaker 7 (31:35):
Have nothing to do with it.

Speaker 8 (31:36):
And I see why the other shows would want these people.
They're fascinating and they're compelling, and they're great storytellers. If
you're a former Survivor player and another show will pay
you to come and do their show, absolutely go make
that money because you're entertaining.

Speaker 7 (31:52):
They're smart to want you. How about that?

Speaker 5 (31:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Yeah, he finally reached the obvious conclusion.

Speaker 8 (31:58):
Yeah, I bet enough of the players were like, hey,
they're paying us, stop trying.

Speaker 7 (32:05):
To take our money.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Yeah, it is ridiculous when you think about.

Speaker 7 (32:08):
It like that ridiculously.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Carvor in particular was one of the most vocal ones,
but she was doing her book tour. She was really
lighting into him about it. So I think enough people
got upset that he was just like, my bad guys,
I understand you need to make money.

Speaker 8 (32:22):
Yeah, And then probably enough players are mad, like, hey,
you don't want us to do other shows. You also
won't pick us for fifty, so I don't know what
you want us to do.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
Yeah, I mean I didn't find out Boston Robb was
offered fifty and he turned it down.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Wow, But what other TV show would be like, Hey, yeah,
like you're not on the cast anymore. But if you
ever take another job ever, like, don't even think about
calling me again.

Speaker 8 (32:47):
We will not invite you back for a chance to
win one hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 7 (32:51):
If you get third place, we will do it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
And it doesn't help his argument when the biggest survivor
legends of all time have done Big Brother and Traders
and House of Villains and Dealer, Odal Island and all
of these other The Amazing Race, all these other competitions.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah, yeah, maybe it was just because he wanted to
cast Saree, so he had to change his tune publicly.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
Yeah, that's what it was.

Speaker 8 (33:16):
Second order of business here, I as everyone knows, I
am making my way through all the seasons before fifty.

Speaker 7 (33:23):
It's going great. Thanks for asking. I am on Coaches
first season.

Speaker 8 (33:27):
And as as confused as I act about Ozzy and
the Ozzie love, I'm legitimately confused about the love for Coach,
Like I don't understand.

Speaker 7 (33:40):
It at all.

Speaker 8 (33:41):
And you know what, I think there's a the next
episode I'm about to watch is called like the Giant
Killer or something, which I know was like his thing,
and so I'm I'm maybe I'm getting a good Coach
episode here tonight's after I'm done recording this. But up
to this point, I I'm already mad that he's on fifty.

Speaker 7 (34:03):
Like this guy sucks.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
Okay, well the say he sucks is insane. Here's the
thing about this is why everybody loves Coach. He's a
crazy person, okay, and he's he's so entertaining.

Speaker 7 (34:14):
He's the one that like.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
He's a lot like Ozzy, Whereas like the second time
he plays, you're like, oh, this guy is incredible.

Speaker 5 (34:22):
So you just got to watch all of his seasons.

Speaker 8 (34:24):
Okay, as of right, not only is he not entertaining,
he's just downright bad at the game.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
But you just wait.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Okay, he doesn't get better, he doesn't get better at
the game, but he is so funny.

Speaker 8 (34:37):
Okay, listen, I have shown tonight that I am able
to admit when I'm wrong. And if I end up
falling in love with Coach and I pick him one
in our draft next month, probably.

Speaker 7 (34:49):
Like a month from a month and month.

Speaker 8 (34:51):
And a half from now, I will say it.

Speaker 7 (34:55):
I'm mad enough to do that. But as of right now, like.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Say our episode month and a half from.

Speaker 7 (34:59):
Now, Yeah, our month will be a month and a half.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
For forty nine.

Speaker 7 (35:04):
Yeah, no, dang.

Speaker 8 (35:06):
It, a year over like a year, guys, I keep
forgetting forty nine is happening.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
I'll be honest with Yeah, I miss I miss uh.

Speaker 7 (35:17):
What do you miss? Miss?

Speaker 4 (35:19):
I mean I had for forty nine. I just want
to talk about fifty. I'm excited for forty nine.

Speaker 8 (35:24):
I want to I will be excited for forty nine
once it's like happening. But as of the cast, yeah,
for sure, Yeah, all I really am thinking about is fifty.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
I don't know, I want, I want Modern Survivor back
in my life, not to disc Cook Island, but there's
just something different about being in the discourse and uh,
you know, having to talk about the episodes for two
hours a week.

Speaker 8 (35:47):
And I'll just I'll just say that, like I was
telling Chase this, I would not advise anybody to binge
a lot of episodes of Survivor while simultaneously watching one
season episode at a time.

Speaker 7 (36:01):
It really messes with your brain.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
I believe it, dude.

Speaker 8 (36:05):
Yeah, So all right, I'm gonna go, you know, roll
my eyes at coach.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Al Right, I'm gonna watch Shador Sanders tape. Oh you
got something, Chase.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
I'm loading up the group text. I can see some
more of these Riley picks.

Speaker 7 (36:18):
There's more. I've seen it, Chase.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
It's a live feed, brother, there's new pictures twenty four
frames a second. That's twenty four frames. That's twenty four
pictures every second of the day.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
Brand all right, bye.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
Bye, Fiji doesn't get darken night. You're about to hear
some ads that helped keep the lights on here in
the old studio.

Speaker 7 (36:42):
Thanks for listening, or don't listen. It's really up to you.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
At this point.

Speaker 7 (36:46):
It is at the end of the show. I mean,
you're listening to me Hi.

Speaker 5 (36:50):
But here they come.

Speaker 7 (36:51):
I promised they're coming. Yep, here they are.

Speaker 5 (36:54):
Happy Day.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
