[9:39] Regression and sub-vocalization slow reading, with tips to overcome these habits.   [13:39] How do you test comprehension and memory? .   [13:44] Retelling improves memory retention, supported by research on repeated recall strengthening pathways.   Nina Sunday explains, "I came across the principle of memory which is recall of an item of information increases the likelihood of subsequent recall. And what how it was explained. It's like for each recall of an item of information, the brain cell connections or the brain pathway is being created. And so each time you recall that same item of information, it travels down the same pathway in the brain. We've got an unlimited number of pathways, but creating the neuronal pathway for that item of information, makes it more likely to be subsequently recalled.   In other words, we remember what we have remembered; and the act of recall creates the brain cell connections. Brain cells that fire together, wire together.   Retelling serves as a memory aid, and also a test for how well you remembered and understood the information."  [17:14] Benefits of speed reading for personal and professional life, emphasizing lifelong learning.
