Intro (00:00):
Welcome to Managing Common Grounds, the HOA podcast,
where we'll share quick tips, industry insights, and more to
help automate and elevate yourcommunity management practices
produced by Stan AI. So let'sJacob

Anthony Ivanovsky (00:17):
here and myself, your host. I'm from
Jacob here and myself, yourhost. I'm from our operations
team here at Stan AI. A littlebit about me. I help some of the

(00:38):
main players in the HOA spaceget set up with the best in
class suite of AI tools, a partof Stan.
And a little bit about Jacobhere.

Jacob Letourneau (00:48):
Yeah. I'm part of the business development
team, and essentially, I get toplay around with AI and help
community association managers,HOA companies, property
management companies installthat AI into their communities
to handle homeowner inquiries, automate workflows, and do so
much more. We could actuallytalk about it for an hour, but
we won't on this call. Awesome.

Anthony Ivanovsky (01:10):
Sweet. Well, if you are a community or
property manager and you managecommon ground for a living, we
are here for you. This is thepodcast for you. We're hoping to
bring all of that industryinsights from conversations in
the space, thought leadership, the painstaking process of

(01:31):
introducing technology into thecommunity management area. We're
hoping to bring all of thatwisdom that we've learned thus
far in over 2 a half 1000000homeowners interacting with Stan
across 15,000 plus communityassociations to share that
wisdom with all of you here andbring the future of technology

(01:53):
to the CAM space.

Jacob Letourneau (01:55):
Yeah. We get insights every day. We're
constantly talking to ourcustomers, potential customers,
all in that industry. So we'regonna bring those to you. We're
gonna bring those funny storiesas well that we hear in the
industry.
And anything that you may havequestions about, please let us
know so that we can bring it toyour attention.

Anthony Ivanovsky (02:11):
And a little bit about StandAI for those of
you that might be you. And,obviously, Jacob and I work
here, and this is the tool andplatform that we're bringing to
the market each and every day.But a little bit about our story
as well, we were founded by 2community and property managers
who spent upwards of decades inthe space and said there's got

(02:33):
to be a better way ofcommunicating with owners and
residents than sitting behind aninbox behind the desk and
running through it all the time. And even beyond that, there has
to be more automation andtechnology for a space that is
filled with manual labor. Andthat could be something as

(02:54):
simple as manually opening up acheck to typing up an email or
sending a letter back to ahomeowner.
This is a space that is in direand desperate need of tech and
automation, and that's whereStan comes in.

Jacob Letourneau (03:09):
Yeah. And I think the other thing that
people forget is with AInowadays, everyone's scared a
bit. It's almost like there'sthis fence. Right? And I think,
Anthony, you've seen this whereit's either you're a total
enthusiast with AI or you'retotally against it.
You won't ever touch it. You'rescared it's gonna take your job,

(03:29):
your partner, your money, whatever it is. Right? So we're
also here to just come in andjust talk about what AI is, how
it can help you in your normalday to day. You don't have to be
a wizard with it.
That's our job, actually. So wecan come in and really help you
that way. And it's really coolto see the use cases that people
will start using AI with. Forexample, I just had a call with

(03:51):
a client, and we were helpinghim fix a leaky toilet with AI
just to to show you the kind offunctionality there.

Anthony Ivanovsky (03:58):
Wow. An AI plumber and maintenance expert.
That honestly just sounds likethe future. And you bring up a
really great point around thisbeing a tool to really drive,
impact, and push forward anindustry rather than replace.
And that's where we truly seeStand AI as a fit in being the

(04:20):
first tool to offer autonomousprocess and workflow automation
versus, as I was saying before, having to sit behind that desk
and dread all of the differenttask lists that you have.
Introducing AI, whether it'sStan or through other products
in the space, to be able tobring peace of mind and

(04:40):
automation to that is where weaim to be. And it could be
something like automating how tofix a leak in a toilet to
managing a two way conversationwith a vendor, putting together
a scope of work, getting someoneout there, collecting the fees
for that. There's so manydifferent moving parts that
happen to that. And our goal isto really be the oil in that big

(05:03):
machine that keeps all thoseparts moving.

Jacob Letourneau (05:06):
Yeah. And the goal of this podcast is to bring
those moving parts to visibilityso that everyone knows about it.
Right? Maybe you're new to thisspace. Maybe you just became a
community association manager, and you have no idea where to
start.
Well, we can be that AI hand foryou, really steer that
conversation and be thoseexperts that you might need to

(05:27):
come in to to help you. So we'rewe're excited to do that as
well, and, yeah, just excited todo more of these podcasts to be
able to give more insight intowhat's going on.

Anthony Ivanovsky (05:40):
And a lot of that, as Jacob was saying, is is
gonna come from delivering thesesolutions to the industry and
all of the conversations thatwe've had with thought leaders
in the space from boots on theground at local trade shows to
actually spending a number ofhours with management companies
and understanding their uniquetechnology needs and introducing

(06:03):
AI as a service to automate someof their toughest workflow
challenges. But even beyondthat, just looking at the day in
a life is we feel we've trulyunderstood what it is to be a
community manager in a way, eventhough we're not personally
responsible for properties ormanaging common grounds per se,

(06:25):
but we've really livedvicariously through our
customers and in that have feltthat same unique pain and the
challenges and also the uniquethings. There are folks that
have been in this space farbeyond, you know, the average
tenure for any other role in anyother industry to those that are
just looking to get introducedand are hoping to find new ways

(06:46):
to exceed and excel. Yeah.

Jacob Letourneau (06:49):
A 100%. And a little personal tidbit here from
Anthony and I. We're bothlandlords on top of our normal
day jobs here at Sten AI. Wehave that kind of aspect to our
lives where we're managingproperties. We're dealing with
tenants.
So we feel the pain, but alsosee the enjoyment of managing a
property properly and having a areally nice interaction with a

(07:12):
homeowner or a tenant. Right? Sowe bring that we'll bring that
into this podcast as well. Somelittle insights there.

Anthony Ivanovsky (07:20):
It's a people to people business. It's a
people first industry a lot ofthe times. And even though we're
automating things behind thescene, we'll take you on a tour
of that human aspect. And Ithink there's two important
things here is just thebackgrounds of people in the
space. We meet folks who aremanaging HOA's, who are airline
pilots, to drummers, to DJs, toyou name it.

(07:44):
And they're they're us. They'repeople. And it's weird because
you might look at the HOA spacein the industry and come across
a Reddit post or complaints fromowners or just attacks on the
HOA manager, and they often losethat human aspect. And we're
hoping to share and shed somelight on a lot of that and then

(08:05):
show how AI and technologythrough Stan are helping combat
that and creating a better, morehuman like name for the day in
the life and the HOA manager. Sowe're excited to bring that part
of it.
But, yes, as property ownersourselves, we've definitely
felt, you know, small scalesimilarities to to what you
folks go through on a day today.

Jacob Letourneau (08:28):
Yeah. A 100%. And, like, just to to reiterate
that point, really excited tobring that in the day in the
life, in that aspect of a winwin situation of how you can
still go about your operations, still do your job properly, and
have AI in the back as asuperpower, kinda just
supercharging everything elsethat you're doing. So we'll

(08:49):
bring those stories as well, show you what some management
companies are doing on top ofwhat you might be doing so that
you can start thinking of ideasto improve your community. And
at the end of the day, that'swhat everyone wants is a happy
community that is constantlyrevolving in terms of happy
people, happy customers, happyboard members.

(09:09):
So we'll talk about all that inthese podcasts coming up as
well.

Anthony Ivanovsky (09:12):
And for some, it might sound like a dream, but
we're gonna make it a realityand bring you the industry
insight to make it that way. Andjust so a couple of things for
our listeners to notice, we'rehoping to give you access to
Managing Common Rounds at leastonce a month. And like I said,
we're actively working inbringing this technology to the

(09:32):
future of HOA management andworking across a number of
associations each day to learnas much as possible about
technology and find new creativeways to introduce that and be
the ones who set the bar trulyon this AI revolution. So we're
hoping to bring this about oncea month. We'll do our best to

(09:53):
share those tips.
But you might hear from us morefrequently as things in the
industry change. AI is movingfast. There might be something
new tomorrow. That's now thenext wave that Jacob and I will
be here to talk about. And Iknow, personally, Jacob is in
every AI tool and a part ofinnovation and our product side

(10:13):
as well, not just selling theplatform and getting it in into
the management companies, but apart of keeping it really unique
and fresh and and bringing newcreative capabilities to stand.

Jacob Letourneau (10:26):
Yeah. That's gonna be awesome. Anthony, can
we give them a little sneak peekand maybe kind of peek the
curtain behind and see what wehave coming out of Stant AI in
the future? And then we'll maybelead it into the next episode.

Anthony Ivanovsky (10:42):
Yeah. What a great segue to to transition
this. And I'll start by givingyou the 50 foot view of Stant
AI, where we're headed and whatour vision is for the future and
how that impacts the everydaycommunity manager. And to start,
Stant AI is the world's firstcommunity management AI

(11:04):
assistance and workflowautomation platforms. I know
that's a mouthful, but let mebreak that down.
We want to handle 2 main corethings a part of community
management day to day, and thatis speaking to your resident
communities and managing theback and forth communications
that come up from emails tophone calls, text messages, web

(11:26):
chats, you name it. Whereverthey're talking to you, we will
be the answer to that. And thenthe second piece of that is
removing the current autonomychallenges that come in place
through the amounts of manuallabor, whether that's having to
write out meeting minutes togoing through budget seasons

(11:46):
right now, doing all of that onyour own, our goal is to bring
true workflow improvements therethrough Stan's engine and suite
of solutions that can helpautomate a lot of that. So over
the next few episodes, you'll behearing from folks that have
introduced this automationalready into their community

(12:08):
management workflows, theimpacts to that, and how Stan
has been a part of thatrevolution. And then to end here
too, our main goal is for thisrole to shift from being
constantly in everything andworking in the business to
working on your business, focusing on the growth of your

(12:30):
management firm, acquisition ofnew business, putting the
resident at the forefront of theexperience, versus having to
work in it all the time, answering questions, being
inundated.
And we see the future ofcommunity management. For
instance, being in New York andhaving a head office out there

(12:51):
to remotely managing an entireassociation out in Texas, for
instance, and understanding allthe rules at regs, not having a
boots on the ground communitymanager there, but having
virtually running all of it. Soif that excites you or scares
you, feel free to tune in. We'revery excited to take you on this

(13:13):
journey, Jacob and I, andeveryone else, of course, that
is looking to join. And thenalso plug it back to Jacob to
talk about some of the guestflows.
And if you're interested injoining on or have a specific
topic that you'd like to sharewith us, we'll leave at that.

Jacob Letourneau (13:29):
Yeah. So thanks, Anthony. That was a
great kind of 50 foot overviewto to shrink down. In terms of
guests, we're gonna be bringingon some community association
managers that are currentlyusing Stan, some that are
thinking about using Stan. Thenwe're gonna bring on some HOA
companies as well as somepresidents, some VPs, see how
they're looking at AI in theindustry, what they think, where

(13:51):
it's going, where it's headed.
We'll give some feedback thereas well. And then we're gonna do
some workflows. So we'llactually get into how do you
stand, how you can, as acommunity manager, for example,
reply to a angry email from ahomeowner without having to lift
a finger, or how you can sitback and let Stan handle phone
calls for you while you sit backand and drink margaritas on the

(14:15):
beach or whatever you wanna doas a community association
manager. But we'll bring thoseto you as we we come out with
these episodes. So once again,if you have any questions that
you'd like to see us talk about, any topics in terms of AI in the
HOA space, property managementspace, come to us.
Let us know. You can always sendus an email, jacob@stanai,
anthony@stanai, or come and findus on LinkedIn. We're pretty

(14:39):
active on there as

Anthony Ivanovsky (14:39):
well. Awesome. Sounds like a plan.
Well, we're looking forward toit and looking forward to
hearing from all of you. Makesure you get subscribed so you
don't miss a upcoming episodehere.
Like I said, we'll be hoping tobring those to you by the end of
every month moving forward. Butyou may hear from us more often,
depending on trends in thespace. And feel free to get
