Have you heard that you need to create a lot of content for SEO to work? I teach you to create one blog post a week, 4 per month, for best results. But I know, not everyone can create that many posts each month (though I've made it a lot easier to do this with my AI SEO assistants that my students now have access to in the course). If you wonder if SEO will work if you can only create one blog post in a month, listen in and find out if it will work and how you can scale with more content over time.

(00:00):
Hi, welcome back to the podcast.
I got a really great questionfrom a new student recently when
she was trying to decide whetheror not to enroll in the course,
and she wanted to understand howblogging really fits in with SEO
because so often when I talkabout it, especially here on the
podcast or in the free classes.

(00:20):
I really show that potentialtraffic explosion that blogging
can bring for us.
And she was really interested.
She wanted to optimize her site.
She wanted to be able to show upwhen people were searching for
her business name.
And as of right now, like she'snot showing up.
So she knew she needed to dosomething.

(00:40):
But she was concerned she mightnot be able to keep up with a
cadence of one blog post eachweek because she still worked
full-time.
Her business was a side hustle.
She was still trying to figureit all out.
I.
And so we talked about it and Isaid, the first thing I wanted
her to understand and I want youto understand is that blogging
is not actually required at allfor SEO.

(01:03):
Now, I wish I had known thiswhen I first started learning
SEO back in like 2008, 2009.
It was a long time ago.
We were trying to understand howto do SEO on our website and we
were trying to hire consultantsand help bring someone in to
help us with it.
And they kept saying, blog, youneed a blog.

(01:26):
You need a blog.
And at the time I worked for thecorporate office of a franchise
organization based in Phoenix, and we didn't want to blog.
We didn't understand.
Of it when it came to SEO.
And so as we were talking toconsultants, we said we want an
SEO strategy that does notinvolve blogging because we

(01:47):
don't have the bandwidth toblog.
And nobody was explaining it theway that I'm going to explain it
right now, which is what made itclick for me and made sense.
And I wish 15, 16 years ago,somebody would've explained it
this way to us because we wouldhave made a different decision
about SEO for that website.

(02:07):
So blogging is not required.
The reason that we blog and thereason that I recommend that we
blog is because it's what allowsus to cast a broader net.
So when we have a website.
If we only optimize our corepages, most of us have websites
that are like five pages.
Think about it.
It's your homepage, your aboutyour contact, and then probably

(02:31):
some product or service pages.
Pages.
If you have an e-commercewebsite, you probably have more
pages because now you havemultiple product pages, multiple
product categories, et cetera.
But in general, most of us havefairly small, simple,
straightforward websites.
So if we optimize those sitesand we only have five pages, we
now have five chances forsomeone to find us in Google.

(02:53):
But if we create a blog, we havethat many more chances for
somebody to come into our world, find us, like find us on Google
or AI search, come into ourworld and potentially become a
customer.
If we're following a really goodcontent strategy, meaning we're
creating content that they'reinterested in, we're optimizing
it for Google and ai, and we'remaking sure that it makes sense

(03:18):
and is aligned with our businesspriorities, our products, our
services, et cetera.
So we're really bringing theright people into our world if
we do that.
And we blog on a regular basis,we increase our reach or the
potential number of keywordsthat we rank for significantly,
because each time we add a newblog post, that's one more

(03:40):
chance for someone to find us.
So if you've been thinking aboutdoing the class and you're
concerned, I can't do one, Ican't commit to one post a week.
That's okay.
You're still going to gettraffic.
You're still going to have thatopportunity to be found, even if
all you're doing is creating oneblog post each month, or two or

(04:05):
three, or working your way up tofour, you don't have to do four
to see results.
You just will see more resultswith a weekly blog than you will
with a monthly blog.
But even if all you can do ismonthly.
Why wouldn't you continue to dothat?
Or why wouldn't you start to dothat?

(04:26):
Think about it.
If you can get a hundred visitsa month from a blog post.
The top of Google ranks on pageone for something that is truly
tied to your business, helpsyour ideal customer, brings
leads in.
So let's say you get a hundredvisits a month from one blog
post and you create 12 over thecourse of the year.

(04:47):
That's 1200 visits from yourcontent.
If 10% of those people convertto leads, that's 120 leads that
you got for free for writingthat blog post.
Now the difference is if you doit weekly now, rather than
having 1200 visits each month, you have 4,800 visits each month

(05:10):
because now we have 48 pieces ofcontent that are potentially
driving traffic for us versus12.
That's really the difference.
It's how we scale and grow.
But my friend, if you can't doone a week, it is okay.
Work at the pace that you can.
It's more important that youcreate great content for your

(05:32):
ideal customer and that youoptimize it for Google and AI
search than you create fourposts each month.
I really would rather you focuson.
One great post that's helpful, that's going to give that
information that they're lookingfor, that's optimized the right
way.

(05:52):
That is bringing the rightperson into your world because
that is your best opportunity tobe found on Google as you get
comfortable with it.
You may find that it's easierfor you, you may be able to
start to learn how to do itfaster.
I know like for me, it takes memaybe an hour to write,

(06:13):
optimize, do the keywordresearch, all of that.
But I'm a writer and I've beendoing this for years and years
and years.
You know, I've been writing mySEO blogs.
For eight years.
My biggest challenge is like, what haven't I covered yet?
What ideas have I not talkedabout on the blog?
And now with the podcast, because then we have a

(06:35):
conversation about the sametopic on the podcast to really
help you and give you thatopportunity to either listen or
read it.
So what I want you to understandis, you know what, if you are
just able to do one.
It's okay, as long as you'redoing it the right way.
You are really focusing onhelping your customer.
You're creating great content.

(06:56):
You're optimizing it, you'rechoosing keywords, you're using
the right key phrases, you'reformatting it for AI search.
All of that is going to impacthow well it works for you.
But you absolutely can makeprogress with one a month.
If you wanna learn how to dothis, make it faster, easier.
You want somebody to walk youthrough it.

(07:16):
You want access to my ai, mylittle chat bots that are
designed to help you with all ofthis.
Join me in simple SEO contentbecause I will teach you the
process, the batching, all ofthat so that this becomes as
easy and painless as possible.
I only spend about two days amonth on my content, and that is
for.
Four blog posts, four podcasts, and four emails, and it takes me

(07:40):
less than, it's like two, twohalf days a month.
I really don't spend a ton oftime on the content that I
create for you.
I don't do a ton on social, sothat does make it a little
easier.
I don't, do, you know, I, I'mnot.
On social five days a week, I'mon social enough to be there and
mainly to chat with you becausea lot of you reach out to me in

(08:02):
the dm.
So I have a lot of conversationsin there, much more so than
focusing on like posting on myfeed Instagram, interested in
the dms and maybe stories andjust doing that.
So my friend, whether it's one aweek, one a month, whatever

(08:22):
amount that you are able to.
Create that is great contentdesigned to help your ideal
customer.
Optimize for Google and AIsearch that is tied to your
business is something thatthey're interested in, that you
have a good chance of rankingfor, is an opportunity to bring
more traffic and more peopleinto your world.
And don't let the fact that youcan't today do four blog posts a

(08:44):
month.
Stop you from getting started.
Go ahead and get started todaydoing what you can and then work
your way up.
I have a lot of students whostart to see success.
They start to see more trafficcoming in because of the content
that they're creating, andthey're like, oh, I'm gonna
start spending some more time onmy content, because that's
really starting to pay off.
I have one student inparticular, I was looking at

(09:07):
reports recently, she had 13,000visits last month from organic
search, 13,000 my friend, andyeah, you better believe she's
got a really good blog.
Well optimized drives a lot oftraffic.
You can do this too, and I wouldlove to show you how.
All right, that is it for today.
I will see you back here nextweek.

(09:29):
Bye for now.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
