Οι βαριάντες, οι διανοητικές ασκήσεις που κρατάνε το μυαλό κοφτερό, οι άπειρες πιθανότητες, οι απροσδόκητες κινήσεις, η παγκόσμια γλώσσα του παιχνιδιού, η στρατηγική που υπάρχει σε κάθε αγώνα σκακιού, και πολλά ακόμη, με έκαναν να το αγαπήσω μικρός, και να μάθω πολλά από αυτό μεγάλος.
Φυσικά, δεν διανοήθηκα ότι θα μπορούσα ποτέ να γίνω… Gary Kasparov ή Magnus Carlsen (σκακιστές που μπορούν να σκεφτούν τις επόμενες 15 με 20 κινήσεις τους) και έτσι η σχέση μου με το υπέροχο αυτό παιχνίδι, από κάποια ηλικία και μετά, περιορίστηκε στις διδαχές που πήρα από αυτό σε σχέση με τη στρατηγική επιχειρήσεων.
