SPEAKER_01 (00:00):
Hello and welcome to
the Secrets of Happily Ever
(00:02):
After podcast.
I'm your host, Monica Tanner, and I'm really, really, really,
really excited about my gueststoday.
They are Justin and NatalieWeeks, and they are the creators
of one of my favorite newproducts.
And I am so excited to talkabout it because I'm always
skeptical about things likethis, but I have tried this.
(00:23):
My husband and I use it.
I'm excited to tell you aboutit.
And I'm excited for you to hearthe story of how it was created.
So help me welcome Justin andNatalie Weeks of Every.
How are you guys doing?
SPEAKER_02 (00:36):
Hey, we're doing
great.
SPEAKER_01 (00:38):
How are you?
So, so good and so, so excitedto have this conversation with
you.
I want you to start.
SPEAKER_03 (00:46):
We're excited too
and honored to be here.
So thanks.
SPEAKER_01 (00:49):
Good.
I want to start by I love theorigin story of this product.
Like it makes me so happy.
And I would love if you wouldjust start by could just kind of
telling us a little bit aboutyourselves and how you got the
idea for this product.
SPEAKER_02 (01:03):
Sure.
Okay.
Well, to jump right into it, Iguess.
Um, Justin's always been superthoughtful.
He's great that way.
I've lucked out and I'm fullyaware.
But what happened was I lovemassages and he knows it.
And one time he got a massagetable and brought it home.
(01:24):
And he was like, hey, I'd loveto give you a massage.
Can I give you a massage?
And I, of course, said yes, Iwould love one.
And so he gave me just thenicest massage ever.
It was so sweet.
We had younger kids at the time,so we had put them to bed.
And so it was just relaxing.
It was lovely.
(01:44):
And anyway, when he was done, Iwas like almost asleep, like on
the verge of just going to bed.
And so, like, really, I couldhave just like rolled off the
table onto the bed and beenfine.
But I was so greasy and oily andsticky from the oil that he had
been using that I was like, oh,I guess I better go jump in the
(02:07):
shower, you know.
So I did, and and it was lovelystill.
Don't get me wrong.
I I feel like a complainer everytime I talk about this story.
SPEAKER_01 (02:18):
Sometimes the best
ideas come out of what's not
working.
SPEAKER_03 (02:22):
So it's well, and I
think to be fair to Natalie, at
this point, if anybody's had amassage, they all know everyone
knows what she's talking aboutright now.
SPEAKER_02 (02:31):
Yes, you're you're
feeling sticky.
You're feeling you need toshower off, right?
And so anyway, we lay down andwe were talking.
And anyway, I it had come up,and I just said, man, it would
be so awesome if you could get amassage like that and just go to
sleep.
And it was like light bulb wentoff for him.
And he was like, challengeaccepted.
SPEAKER_01 (02:54):
I'm gonna go find
it, you know.
I love that attitude too, because like I have some friends
that have that attitude, andyou're like, that's who you want
in your quarter, who's like, yep, I'm gonna figure that out.
SPEAKER_02 (03:05):
Yes, exactly.
So anyway, he he really took itto heart and he started going
everywhere trying to find well,he started out first, just kind
of like Walmart, CVS, like yeah, just places like that.
Like, hey, maybe there'ssomething, and all of it was
yeah, everywhere.
SPEAKER_03 (03:24):
I mean, to her
point, I'd go to those places
and they they were all justmassage oils, and it was kind of
the same thing.
So then I started getting intosome more specialty stores
trying to find stuff, and Icalled a friend of ours who was
a professional massage therapistand just said, Hey, what's like
the very best massage oil?
(03:44):
Yeah, and that wouldn't leave asticky, greasy, oily feel.
And his response was that's justmassage oil, and so I'm like,
huh.
And then he said, But if youfigure something out, everyone
will want it.
And I'll give a little bit of ahead start here to this, but
that's why we call it every, isbecause it's a play on words
(04:08):
that everyone would love it.
Yeah, but so what we starteddown this road, weren't finding
uh, or you know, with kind ofbeing told there's not uh a
solution out there, but thenstarted learning about
ingredients and met a handful ofpeople, and one thing led to
another, and we can acceleratethe story.
(04:29):
But over the course of sixyears, meeting with the labs all
over the United States, wefinally came up with the
product, and it was kind of aneat experience because we sat
down and said, Okay, what's theideal product?
And as we were looking atmassage oils, then lubricants
came into the conversation.
(04:50):
And frankly, I was a littlenaive at that point about the
differences of them.
Um, but for your listeners, theymight appreciate knowing this.
That massage oils often thereason we have two different
products is massage oilsoftentimes aren't safe
vaginally, so they can causevaginal irritation, yeast
(05:12):
infection, UTI, etc.
And so that is why there'slubricants versus massage oils.
Um, now on the flip side, Idon't I haven't met anyone yet
that says I want to take alubricant and rub it all over my
skin and use it as a massageoil.
So our our thought process waswhat if we can come up with a
(05:34):
product that's a hundred percentnatural ingredients because that
was important to us, and then aproduct that works universally
as a massage oil and can you beused as an intimate lubricant.
And then from there, anothercomplaint that I think anybody
can relate to is if you take amassage oil or a lubricant and
(05:56):
you squirt them out of thebottle, they come in, they
usually go all over the place.
And I think I think everybodyknows what it's like if I say
it's dripping out of your handor down your arm or wherever
it's going.
And so we thought, is theresomething that we can do to fix
that?
And the idea was if we couldstart in a cream form that would
(06:16):
then melt into a liquid, andthen we also thought it'd be
nice if it would have a nice uhscent, and then the last
component be edible.
And all you see a lot of stuffthat says that they're edible,
but they don't have flavor, theyjust taste like oil.
And on the scent side, you canfind massage oils that will have
flavor or scent, but most ofthem will then have sugars in
(06:40):
them, which will then causevaginal irritation again for a
lot of women, and so thenthere's a challenge again and
sticky, and and then oh yeah, and then this the sugars would
make it sticky as well, whichthe whole start of this was
trying to find a product thatdidn't leave you feeling sticky.
So, where we are today after sixyears is we have been able to
(07:01):
develop this product, and I haveto give compliments to the labs
because if you can understandthat process, we'd meet with
them and they would say, Hey,that's too tall of a request,
you're not gonna be able to dothat.
But if you change and you putsome artificial ingredients in
it, or you're willing to putsugars in it, we can get you a
cool product, but we can't getwhat you're asking for.
(07:22):
But so then it was like, Whatcan you do with the of our
request?
And so we just started markingthings off and they'd get as far
as they could, and then theywere awesome because they would
say, you know what, we can't getany further, but you should
check with this lab or this lab.
Yeah, and then they would referus out, and it was across
states, and sometimes I mean itwas like I said, we literally
(07:44):
went all over the United Statesmeeting with people, so they
were really helpful that waytoo.
I thought it was a neatcommunity that they weren't
selfish, they were really tryingto help us accomplish our goal.
But yeah, so today we have thisproduct called Every.
It's a hundred percent naturalingredients, it's a cream form,
it's beautiful, it looks good onthe nightstand.
SPEAKER_01 (08:04):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (08:05):
We all we hear that
often, and then it's in a cream
form, and the best way I like todescribe it is if you imagine a
whipped butter at a nicerestaurant and it looks kind of
soft and silky if you were totouch it, and that's kind of the
look and feel of our cream.
And then if you took that uhwhipped butter and put it on
some warm food, it would meltdown to a liquid, and the body
(08:29):
temperature will cause every tomelt down to a liquid form.
Work is an amazing massage agentand intimate lubricant.
It is flavored and smells.
We've got coconut lime andpineapple orange, and they smell
literally like real ingredients.
It's not because they are, it'snot, it doesn't smell like candy
(08:50):
or something cheap.
And then it's being edible, it'salso flavored.
And then the end goal, ofcourse, was to have a product
that didn't leave you sticky, and it not only does it not
leave you feeling sticky, but itabsorbs into the skin and works
as a moisturizer and evennourishes intimate tissues.
So we just have been humbled bythe feedback too, because
(09:11):
everyone is like, this is themost amazing thing.
In fact, you'll like this,Monica, just because of our
friendship.
We've had a lot of otherconversations.
A gal sent us, and I have noidea how old she was, but
actually, I think she did tellus.
She was in her mid-50s, if Irecall, and she said, I feel
like I'm in my 20s again usingthis stuff.
(09:32):
Well, kind of funny.
SPEAKER_01 (09:34):
I love that story,
and I have heard it before, and
I wanted you to tell it becausewhat struck me when I first
heard it was the amount of loveand care that went into that
whole process.
And why?
Because your wife wanted amassage rule that was not
sticky.
And I just like, I'm just like, that is really cool, like really
(09:56):
above and beyond cool.
But now I have to tell you mystory with it because I have not
told you this before.
SPEAKER_03 (10:03):
Oh, that's why I
said please, I'm excited to
hear.
SPEAKER_01 (10:06):
Because we met, and
it's been several, several,
several months we met, and I gotto hear that story, and you let
us take home some of theproduct.
And I loved the story, and Ithought, I'm sure that product
is great, but I have tried many, many.
I mean, if you know what I do, Iliterally am an intimacy expert.
(10:26):
We have tried lots of lubes.
I do like massage, but myhusband does not like to get his
hands oily and sticky.
So I brought this home and I'mlike, I've tried all the lubes.
Like, I mean, I know what theyall do, I know all of their
consistencies and what they are,and we don't really use any of
them because we don't reallylove them, right?
(10:48):
And I had this on my nightstandfor a very long time.
And I was like, I'm not gonnaask.
My husband does give memassages, but they're like kind
of dry massages, and they'relike, it's like so-so.
But that's the thought thatcounts, and I am appreciative,
right?
But he because he does not like,he doesn't like lotion, he
doesn't like sticky nothing onhis hands, right?
And so this was on thenightstand for a really long
(11:10):
time, and I was like, I'm notgonna ask him to use it because
I know he does not like thatfeeling.
And then one morning we had alot of time, and he started to
like massage my back, and myback was like really kind of
hurting.
I had knots, and I was like, Oh,let you push this like a little
harder there, you know, and hewas like listening, and I was
like, I wonder what this wouldbe like, and it was literally on
(11:35):
my nightstand.
Look, we love it.
Mine is almost gone.
I don't know if you can seethat.
Yeah, but ooh, and I just likethe smell is so good.
But he started using it, and itis legit, everything you say it
is.
Like it felt really, reallygood.
It sunk right into my skin.
(11:57):
My husband did not complainabout how oily it is, and we it
was the morning, so we didn'tfall right to sleep, but we did
take a significant nap rightafter that experience.
We had a great experience, itfelt so good, like and we just
rolled over and took a nap.
(12:18):
And I did not have the feelingthat like now I have to get up
and take the sheets off and washthem.
Like it is everything that yousay it is, and I am so excited
because like I was so skeptical.
I was like, I'm sure it's notlike that great, right?
SPEAKER_03 (12:36):
You know, if I can
say though, your response is
normal, yeah.
Like we when we tell people, particularly like yourself, who
are intimacy experts and theyhave tried and seen it all.
It's oily or it's greasy or it'sgross or it's just smelly, or
yes, yeah, you nailed it, and soyeah, we there's been quite a
(12:58):
bit of skepticism, and very, very similar to what you just
said, is once they use it,they're like, Oh my gosh, you
like you didn't lie about thisin any way, shape, or form, or
not necessarily lie, but it'snot like you were giving us,
yeah, you weren't overselling.
SPEAKER_01 (13:15):
Overpromise anyhow,
it is what you say it is, it's
great.
I'm grateful that it took yousix years.
I'm grateful that you didn'tstop until you got all the
things.
I don't know very many peoplewho would do that.
SPEAKER_03 (13:28):
Well, I have to, you
know, you you make it sound
good, but uh there was a pointliterally before the formula, we
we were ready to give up.
We literally said this is ourlast chance because these labs
don't work for free.
And you would invest we wereinvesting a lot of money with
(13:49):
the idea that if we could figureit out, everyone would want it.
So it was like, yeah, we'llwe'll keep taking some risk
here, but you take risk and timefor six years and then feel like
you're not gonna get there.
We kind of started gettingdiscouraged, and then it was
literally that last chance thatwe took when it came all
together.
(14:09):
So that was kind of a fun thingfor us to look back on now and
say, Glad we didn't give up.
Glad we didn't give up.
SPEAKER_01 (14:16):
Yeah, well, it's
funny because you hear that um,
what's the analogy?
Like so many people stop likethree inches away from the gold,
right?
And you just thankfully you tookthat last shot and it worked
out.
And I'm like really grateful forthis because I I just think it's
so cool.
Like now you have a product thatmakes it really feasible to be
(14:39):
like we can be playful in theevening, like we can do like, or
in the morning or just wheneverwe want to use it, right?
But we don't feel like we haveto immediately take a shower,
you don't have to wash thesheets.
We didn't, we don't feel like wemade a mess.
And I literally did feel like itwas like moisturizing my I
didn't put it on my face oranything, and I haven't tasted
(14:59):
it, but I might now.
SPEAKER_03 (15:02):
Well, if I can add
another thing that just crossed
my mind as you were saying this, where we've received, because I
mean you can tell visually, Ithink we're pretty conservative
people, and um, by nature ofthat, I think we've gotten a lot
of positive feedback from peoplewho have wanted, felt like maybe
they needed a lubricant or amassage oil, or maybe they were
(15:25):
looking for something to is whenyou said playful, is what made
this cross my mind, butsomething to enhance intimacy
and connection in theirrelationship.
And the three words we use areplayful, sensual, and
pleasurable.
But when you take this, youknow, I've got one here too, but
the jar is it's sophisticated,it's premium, it's clean, it
(15:48):
feels kind of like a spaproduct.
So we get tons of people thatsay something to the idea of I
can have this on my nightstandsand it doesn't make me
uncomfortable, or if my kidsopen up my drawer and see it,
I'm not panicking.
But I also think for people whoare timid in their relationship
(16:08):
that want to introduce somethingto maybe spice things up a
little bit, this is a verynon-threatening product, and so
we've got a lot of it's I'lltell you what's been the most I
mean, I'll have Natalie speak ifshe sees something different.
But the biggest takeaway for mehas been the gratitude.
You know, we've sold over 8,000jars of this already.
(16:31):
It's people are loving it andit's going very quickly.
But it is amazing how manypeople take the time to reach
out to us and say thank you, andthen express whether it was I
didn't, you know, I we needed tomix things up or how it's
working for them, or they'vebeen dealing with dryness, and
we've had a lot of differenttopics that way where people
(16:51):
have been quite forward withtheir health conditions or
different things, and so it'sfun because it's helping people,
which is our mission.
If you go to our website, themission is we wanted to help
couples to enhance theirintimacy and connection and
their relationship.
That was our goal with this.
SPEAKER_02 (17:07):
Let's get closer,
yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (17:09):
It's been really
cool and humbling to get the
feedback from people.
SPEAKER_01 (17:13):
Yeah, I love that.
I love that.
And at the risk of making youguys blush, I feel like I can
say this now, actually, becauseat this point, I think most of
my listeners are married andmature.
And I think we've gone farenough into the episode now that
I can say this.
I just said that I hadn't tastedit.
But as a relationship andintimacy expert, I will tell you
(17:34):
that that is actually a bigstumbling block for a lot of
people.
And I am like, you know what?
I am gonna taste this, and I amgonna now I am gonna taste it so
that I can fully endorse it,even for like that type of like
solving that problem because itis the smell and the taste of
(17:59):
certain intimate acts, it isreally hard for people.
And so I'm like, you know what?
I actually think that thissolves even more problems than
you guys set out to solve.
So I'm a huge fan and I'm verythankful.
I'm very thankful.
I think this is so fun.
I want it in the hands of everymarried couple, especially
(18:22):
paired with my new book that isspecifically for newlyweds.
And how awesome would it be fornewlyweds to get to start with
this type of a product to helpthem get there has been our like
gifts for newlyweds as of late.
SPEAKER_02 (18:42):
Like I take it, and
people are like, oh, what is
that?
Or to like the favorite thingsparty type thing, you know.
But but specifically for thosenewlyweds, I think same thing,
just it's awesome.
Like so good.
And like you said, to start offyour relationship with it, just
yeah, without all of theheadache of the oily, greasy,
(19:05):
messy stuff.
SPEAKER_03 (19:07):
Absolutely.
And you weren't looking forthis, but your book's awesome,
by the way.
SPEAKER_01 (19:13):
Thank you.
I've had a lot of fun with that, and I have had a similar
experience where I am reallyblown away and so appreciative
of the people that come back andsay, you know what, this is
actually very helpful.
And you know, I'm like, I wroteit because I wanted it to be
helpful.
And like I remember my husbandand I have been married for 23
(19:34):
years, and I remember all of thebad advice that we were given
and some of the heartache thatcame along with it.
And so if I could save anyone alittle bit of like, this is not
the way I envisioned it, and I'mtalking about this product as
well.
I like our our first sexualexperience is not how I
(19:56):
envisioned it.
It's messy, it's gross, it'ssmelly, all the things, right?
If we can save them some of thatheadache, like it's worth it.
SPEAKER_03 (20:04):
Yeah, no, I think
you did a great job.
And it's I I imagine most peopleappreciate the read, and there's
great tips and advice, but justI think you shed a different
perspective on things thatpeople can really benefit from
that they hadn't considered.
So well done.
SPEAKER_02 (20:22):
Yeah, thank you
guys.
Thank you.
That that needs to be our newpairing, doing this with the
book for the newlyweds.
SPEAKER_01 (20:30):
Well, that is my
wedding gift for newlyweds.
That is literally what I giveaway for every wedding.
I've only had two since I'vebecome a huge fan, and my book
has come out.
But for both of those weddings,I have give that's my gift.
I give them my book signed andthen this.
So I love it.
Yeah, it will be on my website.
(20:50):
Oh, I'm gonna on my website ifyou go like the perfect gift for
newlyweds.
It is a package deal, and I'llsend it all to you.
SPEAKER_02 (20:58):
So smart.
If we all could know everythingthat's in that book right from
the get-go.
SPEAKER_01 (21:03):
Yeah, yeah.
Well, I'm so appreciative thatyou guys came and spent a little
bit with me and told the story.
I hope that people I hope thatit's enough for people to at
least try it because I knowthat's all that it it requires.
Like once you've tried this, youwill forever be a fan.
And is there anything else thatyou guys want to add or talk
(21:25):
about or I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03 (21:27):
I think we've kind
of hit all of the the stuff on
it.
Just for your listeners, we'reproviding a a discount.
So I'm making sure that we makereference to that.
I think.
I don't know if you want tocover that.
SPEAKER_01 (21:40):
Yeah, good point.
I totally forgot.
I have a special every link thatwould give you 10% off.
And also, this episode, ifyou're listening in real time,
will come out near the holidays.
So be looking for, I've heardthat there's gonna be some
special deals where you canstock up.
So definitely go toeverysensation.com.
(22:02):
Every sensation.com with thecode MONEY.
And of course, we're gonna putthat in the show notes for you
so you don't have to rememberthat.
But yeah, absolute great thingto stock up.
Will you talk for a second aboutlike shelf life or storage or
how what the best way to makesure that this stays good?
SPEAKER_03 (22:23):
Yeah, no, it's a
great question.
Room temperature is the bestplace to store it where it's a
hundred percent naturalingredients, it's made of exotic
butters and oils, so it doesn'tneed to be refrigerated.
And shelf life, actually, you'llrun out of it before it expires.
I was gonna say, but I like totell people, but and that's
(22:44):
really true, I think.
But the used by or best buy, that's what they call it.
It's because it doesn't actuallyin our testing, they haven't
shown it, they haven'tidentified the like an
expiration date, but they haveprovided a best buy, and that
date is two years.
SPEAKER_01 (23:00):
Oh wow, yeah,
because I was gonna say to be
this not this one, because I'verun out already, and this is my
second, however, it did sit onmy nightstand for a significant
amount of time before I hadbefore I was brave enough to use
it.
So I I can attest it doesn'tchange or you know, get bad or
anything like that.
SPEAKER_03 (23:21):
Yeah, and then we
intentionally did 3.4 ounces so
you can travel with it, and youdon't have to have any worries
or concerns with that.
And then another thing that weget quite a bit of feedback on
is the size.
When people get it, they're areamazed at how a little bit goes
a long way.
And I so I think that's worthlisteners knowing is if you know
(23:45):
it's it's not you're not gonnago through one jar of a giving a
massage, right?
That it it goes, it'll lastpeople a long time.
So we've been selling it longenough that we're noticing most
people are repurchasing aboutevery three to four months.
And so if you and you know, Iwould say that you can use it
actively and make it last thatlong.
SPEAKER_01 (24:06):
That's actually I'm
glad that you said that because
I didn't realize you I I haven'thad the opportunity to travel
with it yet.
But uh now that I know thatthat's helpful with the holidays
coming up.
And my husband and I always do atrip towards the beginning of
the year, so very good to know.
I'm again, I'm so excited.
I hope that this has been aninteresting, fun episode, and I
hope that people will go trythis because I I I want to go so
(24:29):
far as to say it is a gamechanger, like it it literally
is.
So, anyways, go to the link inthe show notes because uh
everysensation.com slash Moniand make sure you stock up for
the holidays, get it for there, there's a lot of weddings around
the holidays, so make sure youstock up at gifts.
Like I said, I the that's thereason I asked about the shelf
(24:52):
life, is because you know, Ihave a closet full of like ready
to give away gifts, and I don'tI'm gonna when it goes on sale,
because now I know I have theinside scoop, you do gonna get a
whole bunch of them stock up sothat I am ready at any moment to
give them as a gift.
So thank you, Justin andNatalie.
You guys have been amazing, andI cannot wait for more people to
(25:15):
discover the absolute gift thatthis is.
Thank you for having us.
SPEAKER_03 (25:19):
Thank you.
Grateful.
