Antone Costa, who was later known as the Cape Cod Casanova, was a carpenter who gained notoriety after he murdered at least four women in Truro, Massachusetts in 1969 although he is suspected of at least eight murders, including his girlfriend. He mutilated and dismembered the bodies, removed the hearts, and was only caught when the remains of two of his victims were discovered in a forest clearing where Costa grew marijuana. He was tried and convicted of two murders and sentenced to life in prison on May 29th, 1970 but would serve less than four years, committing suicide in his cell on May 12th, 1974. It’s rumored that the cemetery where he murdered and disposed of the bodies is haunted, continuing to be a popular tourist spot for paranormal enthusiasts.
