Have you ever had a great marketing idea or strategy and proposed it to your CEO but he or she didn't understand it? This happens a lot with marketers. What we tend to do is get critical and frustrated with our CEO who doesn't "get" marketing. It's easier to point the finger at why things aren't going well in marketing. It's difficult to look inward and be self-aware of the fears and insecurities that we may bring into that meeting with our CEO. Sometimes, we just flat out are not good at selling our idea and we need to learn how to be better salespeople in order to present (sell) our ideas and strategies to our CEO effectively.
