Join me on my podcast as I feature Dr. Dina Al Rameni who is a Cardiac Surgeon and a Mechanical Circulatory Support specialist at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and Assistant Professor at UConn.  She discusses her unique journey growing up in a small village in Jordan and what inspired her to become a Heart Surgeon! She discusses the latest advances in Heart transplant surgery and also explains what the "beating heart" transplant is.

A beating heart transplant is a surgical procedure that involves transplanting a donor heart while it's still beating. This is done using a device called the Organ Care System (OCS), also known as "heart in a box".
