Gary Kott is an American television and advertising writer and artist. He was a writer and supervising producer for The Cosby Show, the 1980s hit NBC situational comedy ranked as the most popular family comedy of the decade. Gary worked on the show during its five consecutive years of number one ratings. Gary also wrote many commercials, pilots, screenplays, and other TV shows including Fame, Remington Steele, Hotel, and The White Shadow. In his writer/screenwriter career, Gary received a Peabody Award, Writers Guild of America Award, NAACP Image Award, two Humanitas Prize nominations, one Emmy Award nomination, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Marietta College, Gary is an artist today.
