Growing up did you ever feel like you just didn’t belong? Maybe you take a look at your family and ask yourself, “How in the Hell did I get Here?” Did you often find yourself alone? You, my friend, may have been the black sheep of the family. You thought differently, you acted differently, you were just different.
Now, in adulthood, you find yourself socially isolated and plagued with negative self-talk and low self-esteem. I get it. Totally my story too. More than 20 years have passed since I left my parent’s house and ventured out on my own. I look around and I’ve got no one but myself. Even when I’m around others, I feel completely alone. Maybe you’re in a long-term, committed relationship, like I was, and you still feel isolated. Afraid to form real, deep connections.
But we can break down those walls, become vulnerable, and form meaningful connections with others. Today’s podcast is about overcoming social isolation, negative self-talk, and low self-esteem brought on by being the black sheep.
