Could embracing serenity transform your life amidst chaos? Join us in exploring how being mindful of our thoughts and feelings deeply impacts our mental state and behavior. In our first chapter, we underscore the profound importance of nurturing relationships and cherishing the moments we share with our loved ones.

In our second chapter, we dive into finding peace through surrender and prayer. We encourage you to embrace the presence of God as a wellspring of love, peace, and joy, allowing you to release worries and welcome tranquility into your life. The Serenity Prayer guides this discussion, reminding us to accept the things we cannot change while finding courage to change the things we can, and seek wisdom along the way.

Tyra (00:01):
Hello there.
How are y'all doing?
On this day?
It is a blessing to be up andabout, doing the things that we
love.
I hope that you are beingintentional about your thinking
as well as your feelings, because, as you think, you're
going to feel it and you'regoing to behave it, because they
all are connected.
So be mindful of your thoughts,be mindful of your feelings,

(00:26):
especially when you are tryingto do things differently,
because transformation comes bythe renewing of your mind.
So, y'all, it is a blessing tobe up and about and I'm grateful
to be on this podcast one moretime, and I want to let you know
that it is going to be a shortone, because Mrs.

(00:47):
Rowell is not feeling goodtoday, but I want to come on
here and leave you withsomething.
So not just something, but someencouraging words.
So I want to encourage you toreach out to people you know,
especially ones that you love, because we do not know when our

(01:09):
expiration date is going to be.
So, as you are thinking aboutloved ones, spending time with
your loved one and it is ablessing, by the way, to even be
gathering with your people thatyou love.
Also.
Check on them, see about them, send them text messages, let
them know that you love them andthat you're checking on them,

(01:30):
because you just never know whenour last day is going to be.
So on this episode, I wanted totalk about serenity because the
last two episodes I've beentalking about how to let go of
the things you cannot change.
So I want to talk aboutserenity Because I do want to
share the serenity prayer withyou.
Serenity means the state ofbeing calm, peaceful and

(01:55):
untroubled.
This is so good the state ofbeing calm, peaceful and
untroubled.
That means that you're not evengoing to let anything trouble
you.
So serenity is a very goodplace to be in.
It's a very good state of mindto be in.

(02:17):
But in order for you to be inthat state of mind, that means
that you're going to have topractice being in that state of
mind, because you can't justbecome calm.
You have to have someactivities in place where you
are calming yourself, whetherthat is doing some deep
breathing or doing some grindingtechniques, or even just

(02:41):
sitting there listening to somemeditation, music, and you're
just letting yourself know thatI am calm, I am peaceful, I am
untroubled.
And why should I be untroubled?
Because of the Lord.
He still sits high, he is thehost of hosts and he is the

(03:01):
beginning and the ending.
So I can sit calm, I can sitpeacefully.
I can most definitely sit hereand be in trouble with Jesus
Christ on my mind, because thereis a scripture in the Bible
that talks about as long as youdwell in Jesus Christ, he most

(03:22):
definitely can give you perfectpeace.
But you have to be the one todwell in Jesus Christ.
That means your mind isdwelling on Jesus Christ so that
you can have perfect peace.
Because this peace ain't justno peace, you know, oh my God.
No, it's not.
It's a peace that surpasses allunderstanding.
Hallelujah, thank you.

(03:42):
Jesus is all understanding.
Hallelujah, thank you, jesus.
You have to make sure that youare doing what you do.
Make sure that you're doingwhat you're doing.
You know what I'm saying, because we can't be concerned
about what everybody else isdoing, but you must definitely
can be concerned about what youdo, because that's your

(04:04):
responsibility.
No-transcript, my Lord, thankyou Jesus.
Because we get to a place wherewe think that other people are
supposed to do this for us.

(04:24):
No, no, no, no.
They are not going to make ushappy, they are not going to
make sure that we are in a peacefrom state of mind, uh-uh, your
state of mind, your state ofmind, okay, you have to do what
you have to do and whatevertechnique that helps you to get

(04:45):
to that space of being calm, peaceful and untroubled, do that
, and please make sure it'shealthy.
It has to be a healthy way ofdoing it.
It has to be something thatworks as well.
We can't be walking around heredoing dysfunctional things and
expecting some wonderful results.
No, it don't happen that way.

(05:07):
So a state of mind, a state ofbeing that's what it says the
state of being calm, peacefuland untroubled.
That means you're beingtransformed by the renewing of
your mind.
Okay, by the renewing of yourmind, that's an action word,
that's a continuation,especially because we feel like,

(05:28):
hey, well, I just got to do itone time.
No, boo, it's a practice.
It is something that you haveto do all the time, consistently
that would be the better wordconsistently.
So, if you want to be in astate of being calm, peaceful
and untroubled, get into thatposition.

(05:49):
And how do you get into thatposition?
By implementing techniques, activities, outlets that will
get you to a state of being calm, peaceful and troubled, whether
that is listening to the wordof God, whether that is walking
around a neighborhood and youare talking to the Lord, or

(06:13):
whether that's sitting down in acorner with your back against
the wall and you're sittingstill and, like the scripture
say, be still and know that I amGod.
You're literally taking thetime out to just sit still and
be still, from your head to yourtoes.

(06:33):
Not just you know your handsbeing still, your feet being
still, your head too, yourthoughts, your feelings, your
feet being still, your head too, your thoughts, your feelings,
your actions.
You're allowing them to sitthere and be still and know that
God is God.
So you have that space, youhave that time.

(06:56):
Take that time to do that anddo it consistently.
And do it consistently Even ifyou're sitting in your car.
When you drive up into yourgarage and you are about to go
into the house.
Take that time to sit in thegarage and make sure that the
garage door is open and you'renot running the car.
Okay, but just sit there and bestill.

(07:20):
But just sit there and be still.
Sit there and say I am calm, Iam peaceful and I am untroubled
because the Lord got me in hisunchanging hand.
Just take in that moment torelease whatever that you have
went through that day and justbringing in the presence of God,

(07:45):
receiving your peace, love andjoy, because that is me being in

(08:07):
a state of calm, peace andtrouble.
We have nothing to be troubledabout, because God is the
beginning and the ending and hemost definitely is taking care
of the things in the middle, hallelujah.
So we just have to let him beGod.
Just let him be God, hallelujah.

(08:28):
There's nothing we can do aboutthe things that we cannot
change.
So just be still, be still.
Tell your thoughts to be still.
God got it.
Tell your feelings to be still.
I'm taking this time to live anddie, to go and be still.

(08:52):
Yes, lord, say the serenityprayer, because as I was doing
the study about letting go ofthings I cannot control, I was
thinking about, I came acrossthe serenity prayer and it was
the whole prayer, it wasn't thefirst two sentences, so I want

(09:13):
to share that with you.
Okay, god, grant me theserenity to accept the things I
cannot change, the courage tochange the things that I can,
and the wisdom to know thedifference Living one day at a
time, enjoying one moment at atime, accepting hardship as a

(09:37):
pathway to peace, taking, asJesus did, this sinful world as
it is not as I would have it,trusting that you will make all
things right if I surrender toyour will so that I may be
reasonably happy in this lifeand supremely happy with you

(09:59):
forever in the next Amen.
So y'all have a good day onthis day and be intentional
about what you're thinking about.
Okay, your thoughts areconnected to your feelings, all
right, so y'all know how I endmy episodes.
So be kind to yourself as wellas to others.
