Tyra (00:01):
Hello there, how are you all doing on this wonderful day
that the Lord has made?
I pray that you are choosing tobe glad in it, and I also hope
that you are glad to see the daythat the Lord has blessed you
with so that you can be aboutdoing the things that you love
as well as the things you don'twant to do.
But in the meantime, I justhope you choose to be glad in it

(00:24):
.
So it is an awesome blessing tobe on this podcast, especially
me, because it has been a longtime since I've been on here.
It has been since December 11thof 2023.
That is a long time to me.

(00:44):
So I want to take this time toapologize for taking a long time
to create new content to putout here, but I do want to say
thank you, thank you, thank youto those who have been listening
, especially to the previousepisode.
It is a blessing to have peoplestill listening.

(01:07):
So, without further ado, let meget into what this podcast is
about, but before I do, you know, I have to start this out with
a quote, because I'm always, youknow, reading out quotes
because I just love to read them.
I just love them.
Some of them are just soprofound and so insightful.

(01:28):
The quote for today is insteadof worrying about what you
cannot control, shift yourenergy to what you can create by
Roy Bennett.
Instead of worrying about whatyou cannot control, shift your
energy to what you can create.

(01:49):
So, let's talk about that for amoment, because you know I got
to.
The thing that stood out to meis the word shift your energy.
Shift your energy, but not onlyshift your energy.
He said shift your energy towhat you can create, because,
instead of you worrying aboutsomething, create something,

(02:11):
because when you do, you'regoing to be shifting your energy
on that thing that you arecreating.
Your mind is occupied as wellon that, like in my case, if I'm
cooking or I'm baking, or I'mpainting, or I'm trying to
create new dishes that I want totry, I'm writing books or

(02:32):
whatever.
Guess what.
My mind is focused on that, myenergy is focused on that, so
it's literally shifting towardssomething that I'm creating.
That just resonated with me sogood, because I'm always
creating something, but I wantyou to know that everybody on
this earth is a creator ofsomething.
So, no matter what it may be,whether you're creating

(02:55):
something with your hands or notguess what.
You are a creator.
You can create something, andso it feels good to me,
especially to be creatingsomething.
Because I guess, because I'martistic, maybe I don't know.
I just believe that God createdus to be creators.
We're just creative like that.

(03:16):
But even if you think you'renot, I want you to know that you
are still a creator.
You still can create something, whether it's something fun or
you know something fun likecooking, baking or painting,
writing, whatever the case maybe.
But I also want y'all to knowthat you've got to create

(03:36):
something internally as well.
It just can't be external, it'sgot to be internally, where you
are creating space for peace, joy and love.
I'm always talking about thaton my previous episodes where we
have to create space for peace, joy and love for those around

(03:59):
us as well as within us.
So if you got a pen and paper,I want you to write down this
affirmation that I created aswell.
If you don't have a pen andpaper, I want you to write down
this affirmation that I createdas well.
If you don't have a pen andpaper, I am going to put this
affirmation on my Instagram page, which is Mental Health, bible
Study I create faith for peace, joy and love for those around me

(04:24):
as well as within me.
I create space.
That means that I am choosingto create space for peace, joy
and love for those people who bearound me as well as within
myself, because I want to havepeace within myself, I want to
have joy and I want to havepeace within myself.

(04:44):
I want to have joy and I wantto have love.
And everybody on this earth bedesiring love, joy and peace,
because it is a necessity in ourlives.
But there are some of thosethat just don't even care about
peace, don't even care about joy, don't even care about love,

(05:07):
peace, don't even care about joy, don't even care about love.
But we have the choice toeither entertain and engage with
those that don't or not.
Just remember that.
Now let's get to the topic howdo I let go of what I can't
control?
How do we let go of what wecan't control?
Okay, step number one make adecision to let go.

(05:29):
Make a decision to let go, ormake a decision to shift your
energy somewhere else.
Not on the things that youcan't control, not on the things
that you can't change, butshift your energy on the things
that you can, okay, but shiftyour energy on the things that

(05:52):
you can, okay, but you're makinga decision.
That's step one.
Why is that so important?
Because we have the power tochoose to do anything, anything
that we want to do, anythingthat we desire to do, anything
that we need to do.
We have to make a decision andwe also have freedom in choosing

(06:14):
what we allow in our space.
Baby, if that ain't, oh my God.
If that's not something thatyou need, it needs to be,
because freedom in choosing tomake a decision is so powerful.

(06:36):
I want to show you something InJoshua 24 chapter 15 verse.
Joshua 24 chapter 15 verse, andthis is the new King John
version.
And if it seems evil to you toserve the lord, choose for
yourself this day whom you willserve, whether the gods which

(07:01):
your father served that were onthe other side of the river or
the gods of the Amorites inwhose land you dwell.
But as for me and my house, wewill serve the Lord Joshua, the
children of Israel.
You can choose on this day, butyou got to choose for yourself.

(07:23):
Okay, choose for yourself thisday whom you will serve, and you
know what the thing aboutallowing people to make
decisions.
I want you to understand, because sometimes people be
there are some people who areindecisive, there are some
people who would rather haveother people make decisions for

(07:43):
them.
There's no freedom in that, there's no power in that, baby,
I'm just going to tell you rightnow there is freedom and power
in choosing for yourself, and Ilike how Joshua was telling them
that, hey, if it seems to beevil to you to serve the Lord,
then you can choose for yourself.
Baby, I ain't going to make youdo anything you don't want to

(08:03):
do, and you ain't going to makeme do anything that I don't want
to do.
I'm going to do what I want todo, and that is to serve the
Lord.
It's for me and my house, buteven those inside Joshua's house
, they still have to makedecisions for themselves too,
because we all have a free willto do what we want to do and
serve whom we ever want to serve.
But we cannot sit up here andmake anybody make decisions.

(08:27):
We cannot sit up here and allowpeople to make decisions for us
either, because even thoughthere are people out there who
probably do want to makedecisions for us, but we will
not have freedom in that.
Freedom is being able to choosefor yourself what you want to do
, what you know that you need todo as well.

(08:47):
It's still a decision that hasto be made, and those decisions
are first mentally made.
That means that it's up in themind right now whether, hey, if
I'm feeling some type of way,I'm feeling down, I'm feeling
bad, I'm feeling depressed, I'mfeeling anxious, I'm feeling
like I'm frustrated, I'm feelingangry, I'm feeling anxious, I'm

(09:10):
feeling like I'm frustrated,I'm feeling angry, I'm feeling
bitter, whatever feelings thatyou may have or may be having.
Guess what?
Those feelings are coming fromyour thoughts, and those
thoughts have to be controlled.
They have to be mentallyaccessed, where you are

(09:30):
literally sitting down andhaving a conversation with
yourself, because we do a lot oftalking, and if you're not
talking a whole lot, then youprobably do need to start
talking to yourself, becausethere has to be a lot of
self-talk when it comes tomaking decisions, because the
definition of decision is achoice you make about something

(09:53):
after thinking about severalpossibilities.
That is from Cambridge.
This is me, so it's alreadysomething that you're going to
naturally be thinking about.
So, while you're sitting therethinking, go ahead and make a
decision, but make a decisionfrom the thoughts that you're
already thinking.
But there has to be you sittingdown in those thoughts and

(10:17):
there's a way that you're goingto sit down in your thoughts as
well.
And I do have some bonusepisodes on how you can sit down
in your thoughts, especiallyoverthinkers, on how you can sit
down in your thoughts,especially overthinkers.
If you're the type of personwho overthink, you most
definitely will, you know, findthese steps on how to deal with

(10:39):
your thinking from these bonusepisodes.
But guess what?
Just as you easily can chooseto worry or be bitter or do the
things that you know you don'tneed to be doing, you also can
easily shift your energyelsewhere.
But it's still a decision thatyou are making.

(11:02):
If you want your life to bebetter, there has to be you
making a decision first.
It's the first step because youactually have to make that
decision.
And you make a decision evenwhen your body may not be

(11:24):
getting ready to do so, becauseit's a preparation process that
you are naturally going throughin order to walk that talk.
Okay, a lot of people think Ijust need to walk, just walk
into whatever my life is or whatit's supposed to be.

(11:45):
You're not just going to getthere by that.
It's a process.
It starts mentally.
First, you're going to have totalk.
First You're going to have tosit down and process your
thoughts.
You're going to have to sitdown and say, okay, why do I
need to be doing this?
What is going on with me, thesethoughts in my head?

(12:07):
I have to do something withthem.
You should do, I should do.
They ain't going nowhere.
That's why, you know, psychologists say they are
automatic thoughts.
They are automatically there.
So if they are there, sit downwith them.

(12:29):
But in the meantime, you'regoing to have to make a choice.
You're going to have to make it.
It's a decision that you makeand I do have an information for
that.
So it is.
I choose to shift my energy tospaces that creates peace, joy

(12:53):
and love.
So if this is something thatyou want to do, if it's
something that you want to letgo of, this is how you do it by
first making a decision.
I am deciding to let go of thisanger.
I am deciding to let go of thisbitterness.

(13:16):
I am deciding to let go of thisworrying about something that I
cannot control.
We start off with decisions.
This is what I am going to do.
This is what I need to do.
I am doing it, I am doing it, Ichoose, I am.
I am doing it, I choose, I am,I am letting go.

(13:38):
It's actually actions thatyou're going to do and that you
are actually doing, but it hasto be made as a mental note, a
mental note that literallyrenews your mind, because the
Bible says be ye transformed bythe renewing of your mind.

(13:59):
So you have to renew somethingthat is already there that
you're trying to get rid of.
So let's renew it with a mentalnote, with affirmations that
really do help you to make thosedecisions, and putting them on
sticky notes and putting themplaces where you can literally

(14:21):
read them out loud so you cantell yourself these are the
things that we're going to do,and I say we because there are
parts of you.
We all have different parts toourselves, so we have to talk to
those different parts ofourselves.
That's a whole other episoderight there, but I just want you
, for now, to put theseaffirmations on sticky notes and

(14:45):
put them on the wall or on yourpocketbook or whatever you know
, so you can see these thingsand say these things and talk to
yourself and have conversationswith Jesus, because we can't do
these things by ourselves.
We can't let go of this hopeand stuff by ourselves,

(15:07):
especially when we're worriedabout stuff that we can't
control.
We're going to need the Lord tocome on in and give us strength
to make these decisions.
It's not easy, you're right,it's not.
It's not easy, you're right,it's not, it's not.
But it first starts with adecision that you make.
You're going to have to choose, baby, you're going to have to

(15:29):
do it one way or the other.
You're going to have to make adecision.
And hey, guess what?
If you're not ready to let go,it's okay.
Have some grace for yourself.
But I want you to know you don'twant to sit in there too long,
because the longer you sit therein those feelings that you do

(15:54):
not want to have, they can turninto something else deeper.
So let's not sit in them toolong, but try to make sure that

(16:15):
you have that power within you, which you do have, by the way.
You have that power within youto choose what you are going to
let go of.
All right, you do, you have it,and you literally sit there and
say it out loud and youliterally let the Lord.
Know that, god, I am choosingto let this go and I need your
help to continue and besteadfast in letting it go,

(16:40):
because there's not somethingthat we can do on our own.
So the episode for next week isgoing to be the second step on
how to let go of what you cannotcontrol.
So make sure you subscribe tothe podcast so that you don't
miss it.
But before I go, I want you toremember you have the power to

(17:03):
choose to shift your energywherever you would like it to be
.
So whether you're over there onthe other side with all that
going on, or you're on this sidewith all this going on, you're
still choosing them sides to goover there.
So, hey, it's nobody's fault,but ours.

(17:25):
Let's just be honest.
We have to take accountabilityfor the things that are going on
in our lives.
I'm just going to be honest now.
So if there's something going onand you're around some people,
that's just chaos.
Guess what, baby?
You decided to stay there.
You decided to entertain.
You decided you making thosedecisions, not me.

(17:48):
Yeah, let's just hold ourselvesaccountable.
But I want you to know you havethat power to choose to shift
your energy wherever you wouldlike it to be.
So until then, until the nextepisode, be intentional of your
thoughts Because, like I saidbefore, as you think it, you're
going to feel it, and as youfeel it, you just may behave it.

(18:11):
So be mindful of what you'rethinking, be mindful of what
your feelings are on the insideof you, because it's all
connected.
And don't forget to be kind toyourself as well as being kind
to others.
