In this series, we are looking at the life of Elijah, a prophet who appears in 1 Kings at a time where the nation of Israel was led away to the worship of false gods. Their attitude towards The Lord, Yahweh, was apathetic and disinterested. His life shows us what it looks like to remain faithful to the One True God in a world that puts faith in other things. Tonight, we see that remaining faithful means confronting the idol. It means identifying the things in our lives that have pulled away our worship and coming back to the only one who is worthy of it.
