In this episode, the Mikes reflect on 2026 kicking our butts with the sudden, unexpected, and heartbreaking loss of three giants of the film industry: Rob Reiner, Catherin O'Hara, and Robert Duvall. We talk about the impact these three careers have had one the two of us, diving into some of our favourite films and performances from their filmographies, and generally pay tribute to titans.

The Mikes returned home for the holidays! Back in Dec. we joined our old friends at Midtown Radio for their 7th Annual Holiday Variety Show, which was recorded and broadcast live from the AOK Craft Beer + Arcade Bar on a wintery night in Downtown Kitchener. 

Our little corner of the show contained a guessing game about holiday releases, and a Hallmark challenge, where we re-wrote the plot of movies like a Hallmark holiday movie...

This past October renowned  primatologist, anthropologist, and animal advocate Jane Goodall passed away at the age of 91. This got us thinking about primates - and of course, more specifically primates in the movies! Of course, in talking about it, we did what every normal person does - we made a bracket!! 

We've got your Kongs, your Outbreak monkeys, your Rafikis, your weeping statue of Caesar. All the very normal things ...

Scott Williams tells us about which films he feels he inherited, and which films he wants to pass on to the next generation (which isn't a Star Trek reference, but after two hours of recording, we finally give in to the pressure and talk Trek for a bit here).
