God's Forgiveness.

journey looking at the best ofthe best scriptures from the
Bible.
These are awesome passages thatyou'll want to remember.
These are 88 of my personalfavorite passages from the Bible
my top 101 verses.
The total list of verses is notin any particular order, but

(01:26):
the pairings of three for eachepisode loosely tie together by
a theme, but each verse isindependently worth memorizing.
Contact Mighty Moment if you'dlike a copy of my best of the
best list.
The Bible paints a vividportrait of God's forgiveness
through various metaphors andpromises.
Today we'll explore threetransformative passages from our

(01:48):
list of the top 101 Bibleverses by looking at Numbers 46,
47, and 48.
1 John 1.9, which offers afaithful promise of forgiveness
when we confess.
Isaiah 1.18, which uses colorimagery to demonstrate God's
cleansing grace.
And Psalm 103, verse 12, whichspeaks of separating us from our

(02:12):
sins.
Number 46 on our list of thetop 101 favorite Bible verses is
1 John 1.9, the faithfulpromise of a complete
forgiveness.
Reading from the New King JamesVersion If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just toforgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from allunrighteousness.

(02:33):
The New International Versionreads that God will forgive us
our sins and purify us from allunrighteousness.
The New American StandardVersion reads God is faithful
and righteous.
The Good News Bible reads butif we confess our sins to God,
he will keep His promise and dowhat is right.

(02:55):
He will forgive us our sins andpurify us from all our
wrongdoing.
The Passion Translation readsbut if we freely admit our sins
when His light uncovers them, hewill be faithful to forgive us
every time.
God is just to forgive us oursins because of Christ, and he
will continue to cleanse us fromall unrighteousness.

(03:18):
In the Message Version, on theother hand, if we admit our sins
, make a clean breast of them,he won't let us down.
He'll be true to Himself.
He'll forgive our sins andpurge us of all wrongdoing.
And finally, in the AmplifiedBible we read If we freely admit

(03:40):
that we have sinned and confessour sins, he is faithful and
just, true to his own nature andpromise and will forgive our
sins and cleanse us from allunrighteousness, our wrongdoing,
everything not in conformitywith his will and purpose.
This amazing verse starts outwith the word if this incredible

(04:03):
promise can be ours, if weactivate it, we must do
something in order for it tooccur.
Nothing's going to happenunless we do that thing.
We must confess Now.
Confession is an interestingword.
It's more than simply saying Idid something wrong, admitting

(04:24):
what we did, understanding itwas wrong, acknowledging the
people we hurt, including God,that we desire to be separated
from that sin and for it to nomore be part of us and we don't
want to do it again.
The more specific with God thatwe can be, the more he realizes
that our confession is genuine, authentic and heartfelt.

(04:46):
This is not a quick forgive mefor my sins which glosses over
everything and lumps them alltogether.
While there are sins we may notbe aware of, we should come to
terms with those things that wehave done that we are aware of,
confessing those things andactions and thoughts that we
have done that are wrong and weknow they're wrong.

(05:08):
The verse has a caveat that wecan believe in and depend on God
.
God is good, god is just, godis faithful.
God can be dependent on.
He will do what he said he willdo.
You will be forgiven.
It's a guaranteed thing.
We can have completeforgiveness.

(05:28):
We can take it to the bank.
So what exactly does God do?
Well, he forgives us.
That's the technical side, thelegal side, if you will.
We no longer are being heldaccountable for that sin.
The penalty is removed.
Jesus paid that penalty for us.
It is no longer on our record.
But also on the cleansing side, the emotional heart side, I'm

(05:51):
reminded of King David in theBible when he prayed in Psalm 51
, 10, create in me a clean heart, o God, and renew a right
spirit within me.
You see, god gives us a blankslate and reboots us so we can
start again.
He forgives us, but he alsocleanses us.
Number 47 on our list is Isaiah118, the transformative miracle

(06:14):
of divine cleansing.
Reading from the New King JamesVersion Come now and let us
reason together, says the Lord.
Though your sins are likescarlet, they shall be as white
as snow.
Though they are red likecrimson, they shall be as wool.
In the Good News Bible it readsthe Lord says Now, let us

(06:35):
settle this matter.
You are stained red with sin,but I will wash you as clean as
snow.
Although your stains are deepred, you will be as white as
wool.
And in the Passion Translationcome now and let's deliberate
over the next steps to taketogether.
Yahweh promises you though yoursins stain you like scarlet, I

(06:59):
will whiten them like brightnew-fallen snow.
Even though they are deep redlike crimson, they will be made
white and, in the Living Bible,as freshly fallen snow.

(07:20):
Even if you are stained as redas crimson, I can make you white
as wool.
God is so eager to see youcleansed and changed.
However, he does not forceHimself on you.
It's an invitation, similar toother invitations we've seen in

(07:42):
the Bible, like taste and seethat the Lord is good.
God is saying try it foryourself.
If we could hear the actualvoice of the Lord saying these
words, we would hear a lovingfather pleading with his child,
not wanting them to remain inpain any longer.
God is asking us to reason thisout.
Think about it, not run on anemotional response, either

(08:02):
direction to or away from God.
God says realize your stain andsee the wonder of the
transformation that I amoffering.
This verse is using contrastinglanguage to encourage the reader
.
It does not matter how bad thesin is or how grievous it is.
God is going to completely wipeit away.

(08:23):
It's the devil that tries toget us to believe that our sins
are too red to be white.
God says no, I will remove thestain A clean, so clean you
cannot tell there was a stainever before.
It no longer exists, for it nolonger exists.

(08:48):
The evidence of it existingdoes not exist.
God completely makes it clean.
In Isaiah 118, the Hebrew wordsfor scarlet and crimson colors
indicate that these were thesuper bright red dyes used at
that time that were impossibleto get out of clothes.
If you stained something withthese it was permanent, or so
everyone thought.
But God's saying he can takethese permanent stains of sin
and make them white, as white aswhite can get pure snow or

(09:13):
beautiful wool.
Number 48 on our list is Psalm103.12, the Immeasurable
Distance of Divine Forgiveness, reading from the New King James
Version.
As far as the east is from thewest, so far has he removed our
transgressions from us.
In the Good News Bible as faras the east is from the west, so

(09:37):
far does he remove our sinsfrom us.
And the Passion Translation.
As far as the eastern horizonis from the western horizon, he
has removed our rebellious actsfrom His presence.
And in the Message Version, asfar as sunrise is from sunset,
he has separated us from oursins.

(10:00):
In this verse, god is trying tohelp us understand His type of
forgiveness, that it not onlyforgives, but that he no longer
holds it against us.
We as humans tend to cling toour sins and carry them around
like baggage, like anchors.
Our enemies remember our sinsto use as ammunition to belittle

(10:20):
us.
God says my type of forgivenessis so complete I don't look at
you any differently from then on.
I won't throw it in your facethe next time you make a mistake
.
I won't degrade or denigrateyou with your past.
God says I'm ready to look tothe future.
The expression as far as theeast is from the west means that

(10:43):
it is impossible for them tomeet, is from the west means
that it is impossible for themto meet.
Just like nothing can separateus from God's love, there is
nothing that can cause God tounforgive a sin that he has
forgiven.
The Hebrew word for removed israkach.
It's like when you pushsomething really far away.
God uses this word twice hereonce to describe how far east is

(11:07):
from west and again to show howfar he puts our sins from us.
The word for transgressions inHebrew is peshah, which means
our intentional mess-ups, notjust honest mistakes.
So God is saying he takes ourdeliberate screw-ups and puts
them so far away from us that wecouldn't find them if we tried.

(11:29):
It's His way of saying thatstuff it's gone, completely gone
.
In astronomy, scientists measurecosmic distances in light-years
.
The distance light travels inone year about 5.88 trillion
miles.
The observable universe extendsapproximately 93 billion

(11:51):
light-years across.
Yet even this unfathomabledistance falls short of
illustrating how far God removesour transgressions from us.
While the visible universe, vast as it is, has measurable
boundaries, the separationbetween East and West is truly
limitless.
When God forgives, he puts oursins so far away they are

(12:15):
completely unreachable.
In conclusion, these threepassages create a magnificent
tapestry of divine forgiveness.
Tapestry of Divine Forgiveness.
1 John 1.9 grounds thisforgiveness in God's faithful
and just character, assuring usthat honest confession leads to
complete cleansing.
Isaiah 1.18 reveals themiraculous transformation of our

(12:38):
moral staining, where whatseemed permanently scarlet
becomes purely white throughdivine intervention.
And finally, psalm 103, verse12, shows us the infinite
distance God places between usand our forgiven sins, an
unreachable separation thatensures our past can never

(12:59):
reclaim us.
Friends, in our next episode, rejoicing in the Day, we will
continue our look at the best ofthe best 88 Bible Scripture
passages by looking at numbers49, 50, and 51 in my top 101
favorite verses.
We'll explore Psalm 118, 24,romans 15, 13, and Philippians 4

(13:23):
, 13.
