month-long journey looking atthe best of the best scriptures
from the Bible.
These are awesome passages thatyou'll want to remember.
These are 88 of my personalfavorite passages from the Bible
my top 101 Bible verses.
The total list of verses is notin any particular order, but
the pairings of three for eachepisode loosely tie together by
(01:27):
a theme, but each verse isindependently worth memorizing.
Contact Mighty Moment if you'dlike a copy of my best of the
best list.
Every believer faces moments ofuncertainty, longing for
God'sction.
This episode unpacks threefoundational scriptures Matthew
28.20, luke 12.12, and James 4,revealing how God promises His
(01:52):
presence, guides us by the HolySpirit and invites us to seek
Him in prayer for every need.
God does not merely point theway.
He walks with us.
We will explore how God'sdirection is revealed through
His presence, his voice and Hisinvitation to ask boldly.
We begin with number 77 of ourlist, matthew 28.20, god's
(02:18):
Presence.
We're never alone on thejourney.
With special focus on the lastpart of this verse, let's read
from the New King James Version, teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded youand, lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age, amen.
Focusing on the last part ofthe verse, reading from the New
(02:42):
International Version and surelyI am with you always, to the
very end of the age.
The Passion Translation readsNever forget that I am with you
every day, even to thecompletion of this age.
The Message Version reads I'llbe with you, as you do this, day
(03:02):
after day after day, right upto the end of the age.
The Living Bible reads and besure of this, that I am with you
always, even to the end of theworld.
And the Amplified Bible readsand lo, I am with you always,
remaining with you perpetually, regardless of circumstance and
(03:24):
on every occasion, even to theend of the age.
This verse is the second partof a great passage called the
Great Commission, found inMatthew 28, verses 19 and 20.
Go, therefore, and makedisciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name ofthe Father and of the Son and of
(03:46):
the Holy Spirit, teaching themto observe all things that I
have commanded you.
And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Amen.
While we are focusing on thesecond part of this verse, it's
important to understand thecontext.
It's important to understandthe context.
(04:07):
God has just sent us out on agreat commission to take His
love, his gospel, his message tothe whole world.
He wants us to know that he isnot sending us out alone, but
rather he is going to be thereevery step of the way,
empowering us and sustaining usto great success.
God is promising, committing tobe with us every single step of
(04:28):
the way, regardless of how hardit may get.
God is not going to leave youabandoned.
God is not going to leave usalmost at the end.
No, god will be with us all theway to the time when we see Him
face to face.
He will never leave us alone.
(04:48):
He will never abandon us.
We will never be on our own.
There is a terrible fallacy andheresy that runs in circles in
the Christian community that inthe last days, believers have to
go it by themselves, have to doit alone.
This one verse refutes thatterrible lie that, in fact, god
(05:09):
will be with us every singlemoment of every single day until
we are with Him forever in theend.
Looking at the original language, was written in Greek.
The phrase I am with you.
Jesus emphasizes his personal,continual presence.
The double use of I and amstresses certainty and intimacy,
(05:32):
echoing God's self-revelationas I am, as used in Exodus 3.14.
Always in the Greek literallyall the days, means every single
day, not just in specialmoments.
And to the end of the age inthe Greek refers to the
(05:53):
culmination or completion ofthis era, not simply a
chronological ending, but thefulfillment of God's plan.
Matthew 28.20 reminds us thatJesus doesn't merely send us, he
goes with us.
Number 78 in our list is Luke12.12,.
Spirit-led words trusting God'sguidance in every moment.
Reading from the New King JamesVersion For the Holy Spirit
(06:17):
will teach you in that very hourwhat you ought to say.
The New International Versionreads For the Holy Spirit will
teach you at that time what youshould say.
And the Passion Translationreads Simply be confident and
allow the Spirit of Wisdomaccess to your heart, and in
(06:41):
that very moment he will revealwhat you are to say to them.
The Message Version reads theHoly Spirit will give you the
right words when the time comes.
And lastly, in the Living BibleFor the Holy Spirit will give
you the right words even as youare standing there.
One of the key reasons given fornot sharing our faith is a fear
in not knowing what to say.
(07:02):
This verse reminds us that thebest preparation for witnessing
is knowing the Savior.
God Himself will guide you inwhat to say when you need to say
it and will provide the wordsthat you will need.
We must be faithful and trustcompletely in Him.
Be bold to witness, because Godhas your back.
(07:24):
While it's important to be astudent of the Word, the key
point here is that yourwillingness to serve and be used
by God is all that is necessaryfor success, as God will speak
through you.
So the real question is are youwilling to let God use you?
Overcome fear with theconfidence that God is with you
(07:47):
and will compensate for you andall your inefficiencies?
He will never leave you norabandon you, and He'll never ask
you to do something if he's notgoing to be right there with
you to support you and guide youto success.
The original language that thiswas written in, greek, gives us
insights into what it reallymeans.
(08:07):
Digging into the verse, we seethat God's direction is not just
for the future.
It is present and timely.
The Holy Spirit provides wisdomand words exactly when we need
them.
The Holy Spirit provides wisdomand words exactly when we need
them, teaching us dependence onHim.
The Holy Spirit isn't just apast teacher or future counselor
.
He is present in the now.
This application means thatGod's direction often comes in
(08:34):
the moment we need it, notbeforehand requiring trust and
attentiveness.
Beforehand requiring trust andattentiveness.
Luke 12.12 assures us thatGod's direction comes through
the Holy Spirit's timelyguidance.
Number 79 in our list is James4.2, prayerful Pursuit Receiving
God's Direction Through Asking.
Reading from the New King JamesVersion you lust and do not have
(08:58):
.
You murder and covet and cannotobtain.
You fight and war, yet you donot have because you do not ask.
Focusing on the last part ofthe verse.
Reading from the NewInternational Version you do not
have because you do not ask God.
Good News Bible reads you donot have what you want because
(09:20):
you do not ask God for it.
The Passion Translation readsand all the time you don't
obtain what you want because youwon't ask God for it.
The Message Version reads youwouldn't think of just asking
God for it, would you?
And why not?
The Living Bible reads and yetthe reason you don't have what
you want is that you don't askGod for it.
(09:41):
And lastly, in the Clear Wordversion, there are things you
should have, but you don't havethem because you don't ask God
to give them to you.
Could it be that simple?
Could it be as simple as asking.
We have not because we ask not.
(10:01):
I've caught myself complainingabout a situation before and
realized I'd never even broughtit to the Lord in prayer.
How can I complain about asituation if I've never even
asked God to help me with thesituation?
God is ready to do wondrousthings for me if I allow Him to
do so.
More time praying, less timecomplaining.
(10:24):
One clarification is that thisis a promise that God will
supply all our needs, not wants.
He's never going to help yousin.
He's never going to help youhurt yourself.
Asking God for a Lamborghini isnot necessarily wrong, but God
is going to answer with what isbest for you and ensure you are
(10:44):
fully equipped to do His will.
You see, I've found the closerwe get to God, the more our
requests align to His characterand the less they are selfish
and wasteful and gluttonous.
James highlights the futility ofstriving for what we need
through our own efforts insteadof turning to God in prayer.
(11:05):
God's direction is found not inself-reliance, but in humble
asking.
We often lack, not because Godwithholds, but because we never
truly ask, the invitation isopen.
God's direction includes aninvitation to seek, ask and
believe.
James 4.2 calls us to seekGod's direction through prayer,
(11:30):
not self-effort.
When we ask, god responds, notalways as we expect, but always
for our good and His glory.
James 4.2 is both a rebuke andan invitation.
God wants to give, but he alsowants to be asked.
In conclusion, god's directionis beautifully woven through
(11:52):
these three scriptures.
In Matthew 28.20, jesus assuresus of His unwavering presence.
He is with us, always guidingand comforting.
Luke 12.12 reveals the HolySpirit's active role, teaching
and equipping us at the verymoment we need it.
And James 4, 2 reminds us thatGod invites us to ask, to seek
(12:17):
His help and to trust Him forevery provision.
Together, these passages reveala loving God who walks beside
us, speaks to us and responds toour prayers as we journey
through life.
May we rest in His presence, rely on His Spirit and approach
Him boldly in prayer.
(12:37):
God's direction is not a distanthope.
It is a daily reality for allwho trust in Him.
God's direction is not amystery for the spiritual elite.
It's a promise for everybeliever.
As we walk, listen and ask, wewill find that God is not only
with us but ahead of us, guidingour every step.
(12:59):
