God's Work in
Believers.
In this episode of MightyMoment, we're on day 27 of our
month-long journey looking atthe best of the best scriptures
from the Bible.
We're exploring 88 of my mostbeloved passages from the Bible,
my top 101 verses.
I'm not going through the listin any particular order, as all
(01:24):
the verses are wonderful.
In each episode, I'm takingthree verses and presenting them
around a common theme.
Contact Mighty Moment if you'dlike a copy of my best of the
best list.
In this episode, we'll journeythrough three powerful verses,
Romans 8.28, Romans 12 2, andPhilippians 1 6, to discover
(01:46):
God's ongoing, purposeful workin every believer's life.
Each passage reveals a uniqueaspect of God's grace-filled
activity, his providence, histransforming power, and his
faithful commitment to completewhat he began in each of us.
God is never idle in the livesof his children.
(02:07):
God orchestrates all things forour good, transforms us daily by
renewing our minds, and willcomplete the good work he began
in us.
Let's explore how these truthsempower us to trust, grow, and
walk confidently in His love.
eighty-five on our list isRomans 828.
(02:37):
And we know that all things worktogether for good, to those who
love God, to those who are thecalled according to His purpose.
The New International Versionreads, And we know that in all
things God works for the good ofthose who love Him, who have
been called according to Hispurpose.
(02:57):
The Good News Bible reads, Weknow that in all things God
works for good with those wholove him, those whom he is
called according to His purpose.
The Passion translation reads,So we are convinced that every
detail of our lives iscontinually woven together for
good, for we are His lovers, whohave been called to fulfill His
(03:21):
designed purpose.
And the message Bible reads,That's why we can be so sure
that every detail in our livesof love for God is worked into
something good.
And the Living Bible reads, andwe know that all that happened
to us is working for our good,if we love God and are fitting
(03:43):
into His plans.
In the Amplified Bible, and weknow with great confidence that
God, who is deeply concernedabout us, causes all things to
work together as a plan, forgood for those who love God, to
those who are called accordingto His plan and purpose.
(04:03):
And lastly, in the Clear WordBible, we know that God will
make everything that happens tous in this life come out to our
eventual good, as long as wetrust Him and remain true to the
purpose for which He called us.
The Apostle Paul here isconfident as he speaks, because
he has experienced what he'stalking about.
(04:26):
Looking back in his life, he hasseen the hand of the Lord at
work.
Even at times when it seemeddark and daunting, God was
working.
So we can live confidently thatGod is overseeing our lives.
We are not just randomlybouncing around.
We are being guided on a journeywith purpose.
(04:47):
God is watching over us anddirecting our paths.
No matter how bad the situationlooks or is, God is working, and
we can have confidence that Godis going to work behind the
scenes to ensure it all worksout for our good and our
benefit.
He is there with us through thehard times, the painful times,
(05:08):
and the good times, forming usand growing us and fulfilling
His purpose through us.
Even when the devil seems likehe is winning, he is not.
God is ultimate, and even if weendure troublesome times here on
earth, Jesus has secured theultimate victory, eternal life.
(05:29):
This world is not our home.
We are just passing through.
As God guides my life here, heis turning lemons into lemonade.
But way beyond, that is theperspective that is nothing that
can happen to me on this earthto stop my destiny of being with
God forever in heaven.
(05:51):
Romans 8 28 anchors us in theassurance that God is
sovereignly orchestrating allthings for the good of those who
love Him.
Reading from the New King JamesVersion, and do not be conformed
(06:14):
to this world, but betransformed by the renewing of
your mind, that you may provewhat is that good and acceptable
and perfect will of God.
The New International Versionreads, Do not conform to the
pattern of this world, but betransformed by the renewing of
your mind.
(06:35):
Then you will be able to testand approve what God's will is,
His good, pleasing, and perfectwill.
The Good News Bible reads, Donot conform yourselves to the
standards of this world, but letGod transform you inwardly by a
complete change of your mind.
(06:55):
Then you will be able to knowthe will of God, what is good
and is pleasing to Him and isperfect.
The Passion translation reads,Stop imitating the ideals and
opinions of the culture aroundyou, but be inwardly transformed
by the Holy Spirit, through atotal reformation of how you
(07:15):
think.
This will empower you to discernGod's will as you live a
beautiful life, satisfying andperfect in His eyes.
The message version reads, Don'tbecome so well adjusted to your
culture that you fit into itwithout even thinking.
Instead, fix your attention onGod.
(07:36):
You'll be changed from theinside out, readily recognize
what He wants from you, andquickly respond to it.
Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its
level of immaturity, God bringsthe best out of you, develops
well-formed maturity in you.
(07:57):
We are receiving stimuliconstantly through all different
kinds of places to conform tothe world.
Through media, advertising, news, music, movies, reels.
But God is calling us tosomething different.
He's calling us to atransformation.
Rather than fitting into the boxthe world wants to shove you
(08:19):
into, God wants to remake youfrom the inside out.
It is quite similar to theprayer of David when he asked
God to create in him a cleanheart and renew a right spirit
within him.
We need a reboot, a newoperating system.
We need to wipe clean theconfusion of our mind and
(08:40):
replant wholesome, good, andclean thoughts from the Lord.
The verb renewing indicates tome that this is an everyday,
daily, ongoing process.
God will be working on my mind.
As the world will never stoptrying to form and conform me
into its mold, we must nevertire of resisting and allowing
(09:03):
God to transform us.
Number eighty-seven on our listis Philippians 1.6.
God's faithful commitment tofinish what he started.
Reading from the New King JamesVersion, being confident of this
very thing, that he who hasbegun a good work in you will
complete it until the day ofJesus Christ.
(09:25):
The New International Versionreads, Being confident of this,
that he who began a good work inyou will carry it on to
completion until the day ofChrist Jesus.
And the Good News Bible reads,And so I am sure that God, who
began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is
(09:47):
finished on the day of ChristJesus.
The Passion translation reads, Ipray with great faith for you,
because I'm fully convinced thatthe one who began this gracious
work in you will faithfullycontinue the process of maturing
you until the unveiling of ourLord Jesus Christ.
The message version reads Therehas never been the slightest
(10:10):
doubt in my mind that the Godwho started this great work in
you would keep at it and bringit to a flourishing finish on
the very day Christ Jesusappears.
And lastly, in the living Bible, and I am sure that God who began
the good work within you willkeep right on helping you grow
in His grace until His taskwithin you is finally finished,
(10:35):
on that day when Jesus Christreturns.
Have you ever started a projectto only not finish it?
Unfortunately, I have a longlist of projects and endeavors
that I've started and neverfinished.
Fads, whims, or passions thatwaned.
God is not like that.
He finishes what he starts.
(10:55):
This verse is a promise to stickto it until it's completed.
God is committed to transformingand changing us into something
better, his image.
This is a promise that he willkeep working until it is done.
He is not going to stop.
He is not going to give up onus.
He is tenaciously working on us.
(11:16):
God is not done with me yet.
There is more work to do.
There is hope as God iscommitted to continually working
on my life to bring me intoalignment with his purpose and
character.
Notice that it is God who isdoing the working.
God is transforming me from theinside out.
(11:37):
Philippians 1 6 assures us thatGod, who began the work of grace
in us, will not abandon it.
He is committed to bringing itto full completion in Christ.
God never abandons what hestarts.
If he began the work ofsalvation in you, he will
faithfully see it through tocompletion.
(12:00):
In conclusion, God's work inbelievers is a picture of grace,
purpose, and hope.
Romans 8 28 reminds us that Godorchestrates every detail for
our good and his purpose.
Romans 12 2 challenges us toresist conformity to the world
and embrace transformationthrough the renewing of our
(12:22):
minds.
And Philippians 1 6 assures usthat the good work God began in
us will be brought to acompletion in Christ Jesus.
Together, these verses reveal aGod who is sovereign in our
circumstances, present in ourtransformation, and faithful to
finish his work.
(12:42):
No matter where you are in yourjourney, you can trust that
God's loving hands are shapingyour life for his glory and your
ultimate good.
Let these truths fill you withhope, courage, and confidence as
you walk with Christ each day.
